This is one of those books that if you want to write good mystery/detective/thriller fiction you really need to read, make notes in and keep near your keyboard.

This book opened my eyes and kind of freaked me out. I tried some of the things out (research) and wow, it worked. Kind of scary easy, lol!

Really, this should be on any mystery writer's desk.

Ever wanted to open an off-shore account or at least learn a little more about them... well now you can! Great info. in this book. Not so much on how to become a PI if that is what you are looking for but this is great for a person who is thinking of hiring a PI or perhaps for the person who gets themselves into a bit of a sticky situation... good resource.

Need more time with it.

Now it's a little dated, but a pretty thorough guide on how private investigators do their work. A word of advice on pretexting: do your homework, maybe even consult an attorney, the law may have changed since this book was released.

I really liked this book. It was fun and easy to read. Great idea's if you need to do your own PI work. Dated because it came out in 2007 but you get the general idea on how to do things and signs to watch for.

Picked up this book at a Goodwill. Interesting and logical but some dated information and strategies.

Appendix Three: The Art of Dumpster Diving, and the last four pages of the book, might just be worth the price of admission itself. It starts: "Going through a subject's garbage on a regular basis is the method by which I have solved the majority of my cases . . ."

What is so great about this book is that Chambers covers both sides: how to investigate AND how to cover your tracks. He's helped clients do both.

Great resource for writers . . . and others.

The really good thing about this book is it confirms that my lover is faithful. I didn't use it against him, though, I swear! Also, it makes me hate GPS and feel bad for all the poor sacks out there who can't be honest with each other when they're not happy. I would never pay a private i. I would say "dude," stuff's just not flying no more. Probably I would. Probably.
