The race to a major battle is brewing.

Pearl and Rickshaw arrive at Lake Valor, and while Pearl is swimming to the island in the middle of the lake to check it out, he's stopped by Saturn in his bubble machine. It's honestly lucky for Pearl that Saturn grabs him out of the water even though his intentions were to be aggressive and intimidating because the bomb does indeed go off in Lake Valor. That scene was so intense because at first, no one knew where the bomb would detonate, and Pearl and his pokemon were caught in the freaking lake. Pearl and Saturn go to the island, and this scene is so beautiful with the reflection in the water and then Mesprit, Azelf, and Uxie rising up each from their respective lakes. Saturn gets the jump on Pearl and steals away with Azelf in hand. Crasher Wake finds Pearl and Rickshaw at the lake while he's having his pokemon perform rain dance to try to refill it. He helps Pearl out with training and catching some new pokemon even though the pokemon there have about had it with humans messing up their environment. Pearl trounces some Galactic grunts on the way to Veilstone City and we get this epic shot of him with his new team.

Platinum and the girls make it to Lake Acuity where Platinum realizes she also had an experience with a bright light there as a child. Enter Jupiter, who is possibly even more male gazily drawn then Clair. Crotches and butts sticking out everywhere. Anyway, Jupiter defeats them and Uxie is taken away in the airship. Platinum drags Candace and Maylene to the the temple to recover before passing out herself (this scene was so artfully done as well) letting a single pokeball fall from her grasp. It slowly rolls into the shadows in front of the silhouette of a massive pokemon. (Spoiler: it's Regigigas) He takes the girls to the pokemon center where they wake up very confused but raring to go. They call in some back up, and await the chance to put Jupiter in her place. And save Uxie too, I guess.

Diamond rushes home to get changed and learns that his mother has gone to Lake Verity to pick berries, which is bad obviously as a bomb may go off there soon. As an aside, I've only really seen people and pokemon eating berries and rice/pasta/bread in the manga so far. That feels a lot different from the anime where they sometimes eat mysterious meat stuffs, and you have to think to yourself, "What or who are they eating? All the animals are sentient there." Anyway, moving on. He rushes to the lake looking for his mom, but ends up in a confrontation with Mars. He takes the battle to the sky with Fantina's Drifblim, but is ultimately unable to stop Team Galactic from capturing Mesprit. He does, however, manage to trick Mars and sneak onto the airship with plans to save the lake pokemon from the inside.

Cut to the Galactic Veilstone Building, where Cyrus is using Mesprit, Azelf, and Uxie's energy to form red chains in order to control Palkia and Dialga and create a new universe! Mwahahaha!

This ain’t exciting as the tenth book.

And I finished it in less then one hour.

Who knew time could go by so quick?

The sadistic part of me liked the drama. Without the drama,there ain’t no thrill.

So yes,give me villains who will challenge our hero’s to their best.

Bring it on.

I love the risks. The tension,the high stakes at chances.

That’s what drives this book into the ground.

Recommended.

(On a side note I wish I saw a battle in here. I am a sucker for a good Pokémon battle. There were some freaky moments like some tension and Stockholm syndrome but nothing too major.)

Me emocioné, me preocupé y me asusté. El principio del climax está aquí, algo que siento que tardó en llegar y que aún no se resuelve del todo. Si se siente como un refrito de otras sagas pero creo que esta vez apuntaron un poco más alto en cuanto a escalas de poder de Pokémon legendarios.

Me fascina el personaje de Diamond y las escenas tan épicas que logra, creo que no estuvo bien equilibrado el tiempo en acción de cada uno por las circunstancias pero se entiende. Un contundente capítulo más que se siente como un gran avance en la historia, tiene un lindo dibujo igualmente, simple y entendible, no necesita más.

Even though this is slowly creeping towards the climax and final fight even the little baby steps the characters are taking is entertaining. The battles are interesting to see and even if the moves don’t work in the exact same way as the games they’re enjoyable.

The characters seem to have all matured a lot in the last few volumes which has made them more fun to read. Whether or not this is because of the main team splitting up I don’t know but it definitely has made the story move quicker.

This one was quite dramatic. With everything going on, I'm excited to see what's next. Diamond is putting up quite a fight in this one, Pearl and Platinum are working really hard to save the pokemon.
Times running out, and with their defeats, time is growing shorter.

Team Galactic is out to bomb one of the lakes. If the Galactic girls waiting at each of the lakes had their way, they'd love for all the lakes to get bombed.
Seems that by bombing the lake, they captured four legendary Pokemon. What lies in store for these poor Pokemon, who were captured against their will?
I don't know what will happen next, but I am glad that our heroes and heroine or right on it, going after Team Galactic, and trying to get the Legendary Pokemon back.

Team Galaxy is set to deploy their gravity bomb but our heroes are on the case. When they fail and Team Galaxy captures the three legendary pokemon, it is up to Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum to rescue them.

This is the volume that should have happened last time, but instead we got filler. This one's pretty good though, all in all. Still wouldn't recommend reading the series as a whole.

4.0/5. Liked this series and it was fun and interesting with the final Galactic commander, Jupiter, thrown into the mix (finally). The heroes divide into three groups to defeat Team Galactic at the three lakes and help the legendary Pokemon that reside there.
I love this chapter, the trio are fun and I like Diamond in this chapter, how he went from being the goofball of the group to the one with most guts.

This was a foray in curiosity. What the heck is this Pokémon book about? I get it, but I don't really care. That being said if kids are reading it, then it's good.

The text is basic and I think it would be good to know that if you have students who are only reading Pokémon books. We might need to try to suggest another graphic novel.
