There’s order in his courtroom,
But not with his fake girlfriend.

Top-tier lawyer Zev Brady is not in control. Ever since a half-naked heiress fell out of a tree and onto his head, the carefully crafted order in his life has gone berzerk. One moment, he was at a wedding his bossy sister, Azura, had forced him to attend, and the next, he had Isla Valehart in his arms. Now, the paparazzi have popped up out of nowhere, and they’ve caught him with a mostly naked millionaire darling in his arms. And if that wasn’t bad enough, Azura insists there’s only one solution to the problem: Fake date Isla Valehart until the paparazzi leave her alone.

Ecologist nerd Isla Valehart has never been kissed. She’s never been touched by a man, never been wooed, and she’s certainly never been carried in her underwear by a giant yeti of a man. But when the paparazzi catch her in Zev Brady’s arms–in her ugliest pair of underwear, no less–Isla finds herself with no choice but to date the broody Mr. Brady. It’s not all bad. He’s easy to provoke, and Isla loves poking the grouchy lawyer bear. Also, she’s somehow ended up making a deal with Zev that she can’t resist: Stay in his home so he can keep an eye on her, and he’ll give her kissing lessons.

Win-win, right? Except the kissing lessons are starting to feel real, and the paparazzi are getting frighteningly bold. Soon, Isla can't decide what is the bigger danger in her life--the stalkers with cameras, or her genuine feelings for her fake boyfriend.

Another book

Overall:4
Spice: 2

I love physical disability representation in this book and we get to meet the whole bunch again. This was definitely more plot driven than spice and you don't actually miss it. Can't wait for the last book.

I did have to skim through a few parts of the story that didnt grab my attention.

A percentage of the pre-order profits will be going to dysautonomia foundation. So please pre-order. (I wasn't told to say this. But Devon is doing this out of the kindness of her heart. She mentions it on her tiktok)

I received this as an ARC

Damsel in distress

🌶🌶🌶.5

Love JD is the 4th in the Love and Other Jobs series and I highly recommend you read the other first. But they are stand-alones.

Omg I've loved every single one of these books in this series. But this is one is chefs kiss. I'm not an age gap girly but this felt RIGHT. Zev reaching 30 and Isla just turned 21.

I always love the banter that Devon writes. She never makes her female characters seem dumb, always witty and are incredibly smart. But with the right amount of naivety, that they always need saving.

Isla has dysautonomia which causes her to faint and become nauseous and headachey.

Her meet cute with Zev isn't exactly "cute" more laugh out loud. She faints and proceeds to fall out of a tree half naked and crushing Zev in the process. Zev and Isla having high profiles in the media lawyer and and an heiress. The paparazzi swarm them taking pictures. And this spirals into a scheme of fake dating. PR after PR scandals rack up around them. And boyyyy oh boyyy do things get wild.

Devon dose an excellent job at showing invisible illness here. The struggles of being without control and taking it while you can. Whether it's reckless or not. She portrays Isla with such strong willpower it's so heartening.

This has a "save the world" undertone that I love. About green conglomerate corporations and the way isla and zev see the world while trying to help as best they can while only being 2 people.

There are atleast 3 spicy scenes in this book so enjoy 😉

Honestly it ties for first as a favourite in this series. Ughh love a fake dating teach me true combination.

Side note all these books come with "light" trigger warnings in the front of the book as they all come with a level of danger. So read to your own discretion.

✨ Love JD by Devon Atwood✨

~~"You are perfect. There isn't a part of you - broken or cracked or chipping away - that I wouldn't get on my knees and beg for." ~~

Man, this two were just so freaking adorable. The banter when they first met had me laughing aloud. Eventhough this was light on triggers there was a part in the story were she was in a way taking advantage of due to her silent illnes and I dont know why but that was super sad when I read it. How someone can be so heartless to do that to another human being. Throughout life Isla has missed out on so many things due to her condition, she prefers to spend her time with her nose under a book. So when she finds herself in a compromising position and is now the center of attention for the paparazzi she agrees to the crazy idea of fake dating the giant yeti. I love how Zev is so understanding of what is going on with Isla and how easily he can recognize her needs. Zev is protective but not overbering. This was a very sweek read. Devon we definetely need an apilogue or something cause you left me wanting more.

Love JD is a stand-alone RomCom about Azrua’s brother, Zev and Tristan’s sister, Isla. Azrua and Tristan return from Love Esq. We see cameos from all of the previous couples in this series.

Isla Valehart is an awkward college student who has suddenly been thrust into the spotlight because of her inheritance. She couldn’t care less about the money and fame, in fact, she’d really rather it all go away and leave her alone. Diagnosed with Autonomic Syncope, Isla has a tendency to faint when she gets scared or nervous. And with paparazzi hiding behind every corner, is unfortunately often. She finds herself in a lot of awkward situations until Zev comes to the rescue.

Zev is an attorney who is trying to keep his law firm afloat after the events of Love Esq. He comes across some disturbing information about his client that would sink the merger he’s trying to facilitate, and he hesitates. Is it worth his career? Does he even want to be a lawyer anymore anyway? These questions and more plague him as he tries to protect the beautiful, and young, heiress who has literally fallen into his lap.

This one made me laugh so hard. It was fun, but there were also some tears jerking moments when Isla questioned her self worth. I really enjoyed it. Zev isn’t everything that he allows people to believe, and Isla could really use someone on her side. These two fit perfectly.

And again Devon does it! Love JD is the 4th book in the 'Love and Other Jobs' series, and it is again a winner! As I say it's the 4th book in the series and they are all readable as standalone. But with books like this, why should you want to? Go read them all ;-)

This book is yet again an awesome read. The banter is on! (I will, from now on, call everyone who faints a fainting goat! 😜 jk) I'm so much in love with Isla and Zev, they are perfect together, they go back and forth with their cute insults.
Isla is sweet, innocent ánd living with an invisible illness (praise for the invisible illness rep!) and her life is hard dealing with this illness and having all kinds of insecurities.
Zev is a top tier lawyer who also used to be a drinking partyboy. Now he is reformed and when he meets the young Isla, he almost immediatly falls for her.
The dual POV is amazing, I love that!

I love the cameos from all couples from the previous books, so great to see them back for just a little bit! It was a great touch.

Devon's romcoms are favourites of mine, and I cannot wait for the next one to drop!

The Spice in this book is: 🌶🌶🌶

The tropes in this book are:
Fake dating,
Teach me,
Virgin,
(small) age gap,
Brother-in-law's sister/ Forbidden love,
Emotional scars,
Damsel in distress
*It has invisible illness representation!*

Can't wait for the next book!!!

*I was lucky to receive this book as an ARC, but the review and my opinions are all my own.*

Bet

After only a few pages in I had already cracked up about 5 times. The banter between Zev and Isla is hilarious. After isla litterally fell into his arms half naked from a tree, and getting photographed carrying her the press kinda went crazy! Here we have an innocent college student with an invisible illness just trying to survive the day to day struggles of her illness and a reformed party boy lawyer 8 years her senior who can’t seem to stop thinking about her. She’s young and makes him want things he shouldn’t want.

Islas life is so complicated and I felt so bad for her! At times I just wanted to hug her nd other times I kinda wanted to shake her nd yell at her to stop thinking of much. Zev sweet sweet Zev, he’s so conflicted about so much. His job, his past, his feelings for isla. He loves teaching her about pleasure and tries to make her believe she isn’t the burden she thinks she is.
5 stars and a little spicy. Just what I needed to bring me out of the book slump I have been in all week. Getting to see little snippets of characters from the previous books was great. I didn’t think anyone would grab my attention as much as Tristian and then Zev just went all yeti and here we are with a new book boyfriend

And just like every other book in this series, I ate it up in about 24 hours. Isla and Zev are a match that would have never happened if he didn’t walk into the woods at a wedding to find her climbing a tree, even though their siblings are dating. Isla is a college student who’s living with a roommate who makes her uncomfortable and a disorder that causes her to faint. Zev is almost thirty who works as a lawyer with his older sister Azura. Zev is the bad boy who had a past of sleeping around while Isla is nervous just to have her first kiss.

I fell in love with both characters just as I have with all the characters in previous books. We still get so many cameos of past characters and ones that will make an appearance in the future! Isla and Zev are faced with a lot of difficulties throughout the book and some of them had me pretty shocked. I can’t wait to continue this story as I keep finding new favorite books to love!

I have never been so in love with a book in my life.

Zev and Isla have found themselves stuck in the media's eyes as a couple. The only thing is, they are not. Zev just happens to save Isla at the most optimal time and most embarrassing look to them both when he brings them out of the forest. I love that they keep looking like they are together in the media's eye while Zev is just trying to help Isla out.

Why I love this book:
~Dual POV
~Disability representation
~Age Gap
~Pining
~Fake Dating
~Sister's Fiance's Sister
~Protective Grump
~Grumpy x Sunshine

Thank you so much Devon Atwood for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Love, love, loved it!!!!

Love JD is an amazing addition to the love and other jobs series. We've been wanting to know more about Zev since the last book and now we actually got to know him better.

This book is a cute and quick read with beautiful representation of silent illness.
Zev and Isla are great for each other. We have them in all kinds of situations because of paparazzi and it is amazing how we see them deal with it.
We see some side characters reappear that we know and love and one in particular I can't wait to read more about!
We have some amazing tropes in this book to look forward to like:

I cannot stop reading this series. I’m HOOKED. I can confidently say it’s one of my favorites. Yeti and the fainting goat. 😭 I fall in love with all of Atwood’s characters. She’s one of the most talented writers Ive ever read. There’s everything in these books. Romance, action, swoon, banter, spice, and did I mention the writing is impeccable? I always feel like I walk away with something when I finish one of her books. They are comfort reads. Please please read these books. 🙏🏻

This is the 4th installment of the Love and Other Jobs series. Love JD can be read as a stand alone, but friends and family from the other books do make an appearance.

Love JD follows hot shot lawyer, Zev Brady and quirky, college student heroine, Isla Valehart. This is an age-gap love, fake-dating love story that finds our two MCs tangled up in quite the mess. The banter of these too had me hooked from the start and definitely laughing out loud.

Zev has developed a protectiveness over Isla that he’s still trying to work out fairly early on. He’s stuck between shedding his former playboy persona and really trying to figure out what he wants in life. Isla is helping him sort it all out without really even knowing.

Isla is quite literally stumbling through life. She’s really just trying to survive one moment to the next without passing out. Devon featured a medical condition in this story that I had never heard of before. I found myself doing additional research on the side just to further educate myself on what someone with this condition may go through. I appreciate her representation of this condition and bringing awareness to it. Devon also raised environmental awareness for some very real issues that our world is facing. I think all-in-all both topics were handled with care and respect.

Once our two MCs realized their feelings for one another, their chemistry was off the charts! Our FMC was inexperienced and Zev was the right professor to teach her. The steamy scenes were steamy 🥵, the swoony scenes were swoony 🥰, and the dialog between characters left me giggling like a schoolgirl 🤭 - sooooo many good fainting goat and yeti moments!

I’m a Devon Atwood fan through and through. I relied heavily on her stories to pull me out of a rough patch and they are always my go to. If you’re looking for some swoon-worthy moments, some spice 🌶️, and some laughs 🤭, definitely check out Love JD and the rest of the books in the Love and other Jobs series.

*** I was fortunate enough to receive this story as an ARC, but a physical hard copy will be joining my library ASAP.

"Love JD" is an absolute gem of a book that stole my heart from the very first page. With its captivating story, irresistible characters, and sizzling chemistry, it's a read that will stay with me long after I've turned the final page.

From the moment I met Isla Valehart and Zev Brady, I knew I was in for a wild ride. Isla's quirky charm and Zev's brooding allure drew me in, and their banter had me laughing and swooning in equal measure. But what truly set this book apart was its ability to delve beyond the surface, exploring the complexities of love, identity, and self-discovery in a way that felt both authentic and deeply moving.

As someone who's always been a sucker for a good romance, "Love JD" hit all the right notes for me. Isla and Zev's journey from reluctant partners to undeniable lovers was both exhilarating and heartwarming, and I found myself cheering for them every step of the way. Their chemistry was off the charts, igniting the pages with a passion that left me breathless and wanting more.

But "Love JD" is more than just a love story—it's a testament to the power of embracing our true selves and finding love in unexpected places. Isla's journey of self-discovery resonated with me on a deeply personal level, reminding me that it's okay to be different and that true happiness comes from being true to who we are.

And let's not forget about Zev. With his rugged charm and hidden vulnerabilities, he's the kind of hero that romance dreams are made of. Watching him fall for Isla, despite his best efforts to resist her, was both heartwarming and swoon-worthy, and I couldn't help but root for him every step of the way.

In the end, "Love JD" is a book that will capture your heart and leave you craving more. It's a story of love, laughter, and the beauty of embracing life's chaotic twists and turns. So if you're in the mood for a steamy, heartfelt romance that will sweep you off your feet, look no further than "Love JD." You won't be disappointed.

Devon Atwood has very quickly become an autobuy author for me. I’m pretty sure she could publish her grocery list and I’d read it at this point. I read this book in a day, if that tells you anything about how much I enjoyed Love JD.
Love JD is the fourth book in the series but each couple feels like a different relationship and I love every one of them. 🥹
Love JD is the story of Zev and Isla, who we were introduced to in Love Esq.
In this book, we see a very different version of Zev. In Love Esq. we see him as the overbearing, bossy brother to Azura. In Love JD, he is very much the understanding, protective love interest.
Isla has a silent illness known as dysautonomia. This results in her passing out when she feels anxious, nervous, or sometimes just when triggered.
The way this woman can write relationships is just 🤌🏻
Zev is the big bad protector who understand Isla and doesn’t make her feel unwanted or a burden because of her condition.
And let me talk about those spicy scenes- 🥵
This book is very much a slow burn, but when we get to *those* scenes it is so worth it.
And now I’m going need a book all about Ghost.
Thank you so much to Devon Atwood for ARC of Love JD in exchange for my honest review. ❤️❤️

Love JD by Devon Atwood is book four in the Love and Other Jobs Series. This author is immediately a go to read whenever a new book is coming out. The writing in this book is phenomenal and each and every time the new book takes place as a favorite. This one was no exception. This has all of my favorite things… age gap, fake dating and it’s a romcom; also it has spice. This is technically a standalone but I recommend reading the other books before this so you can be fully invested in the world. I finished this book in a day, I could not put this book down, so so good! I adored Zev and Isla’s story. I related so much to her suffering from an illness that isn’t seen but can affect your life greatly. But her strength and determination was amazing and truly touched my heart. I loved Zev so much… the way he protects and the fact he is the sweetest, I couldn’t get enough reading about him. I enjoyed the way their story was developed and told. Their chemistry and banter was top tier and just overall amazing. This book is fantastic and another home run from Devon Atwood! I can’t recommend this book/series enough.

The fourth book in the series was fantastic, focusing on Zev Brady, an attorney in his late 20s, and Isla Valehart, a virgin heiress and college student. Their encounter at the right place and time leads to a compromising situation, prompting them to fake a relationship to quell gossip. Isla's struggle with dysautonomia adds depth to the story, and Zev's transformation from a playboy to someone deeply invested in Isla is compelling. Despite the virgin trope and their age gap, the characters' growth and chemistry, coupled with unexpected twists in the plot, make for an engaging read. The reappearance of prior characters adds to the charm, leaving anticipation for what comes next.

The progression of Zev and Isla's relationship, from initial banter to genuine connection, is heartwarming. The narrative skillfully navigates their individual challenges and the complexities of their fake relationship, culminating in a surprising ending that leaves readers eager for more. Overall, the book's blend of romance, character development, and unexpected plot twists makes it a standout.

Okay. So... I got this book as an ARC and I loved it so much. She knocked it out of the park. Again.

We've got:
Age Gap
Silent Illness Rep
Teach Me
Fake Dating

This book is the 4th in the Love and Other Jobs series. While it can be read as a stand alone, you gotta read them all!

*Banter? You got it. It's done so well, I found myself giggling at some of the interactions between Zeb and Isla.
*Spice? Present! At least 3 pretty spicy scenes. I give it 3/5 chili peppers!
*Loveable characters? Yep! I always get attached to Devon's characters!
*Invisible Illness Rep? WELL DONE. She writes it well, as someone who also has an invisible illness, I feel like the representation was on point.

As always, check the trigger warnings to be sure this book is for you.

The banter in these books is just.. so freaking amusing. It's got me sitting here with a goofy smile on my face as I read. The nicknames these two have for each other. Zev's cocky attitude, and Isla's sass. It's just.. so entertaining.

It's funny that they call Amos the grouchy one because Zev is a little bristly himself with everyone but Isla. I haven't researched Isla's disorder but wow, that's really rough to have no earthy idea when your body will just betray you or how. But it's so nice to see someone with flaws, something that she's been made to feel is too much to deal with for anyone else to be loved unconditionally. It's so nice for someone with issues of her own to think that maybe I'll be enough for someone like that.

Anyway, this book is adorable. Lots of ups and downs. It was cute. Fast paced and spicy. Lots of hilarity. Classic rom Com in the best way. I love every book in her Love "___" series and I fully plan to read any more she comes out with!

Ok so I took my time with this book. With it being the 4th book in the series it was Fabulous. I literally was eating it up. Omg Zev and isla were so good for each other. This is my favorite book in the series by far.

So Isla is a college student who is at a wedding and she is into like earth east type stuff she wants to be I want to say it’s an ecologist maybe so she’s in a tree looking at a fungus and she suffers from a fainting disorder and faints while in a tree . Well Zev heard the loud noise and went to see what happened and he found isla dangling from the tree. Well the media is everywhere and pics were taken of them. It looked like they were getting it on. So the paparazzi begins to tail both Zev and isla.

The media makes her feel terrible and has nowhere to turn. Until Zev decides to fake date her and get her out of the media. And from there lots of good stuff happen. You must read to find out. I don’t want to spoil it. I just highly recommend.

Devon made me an all new book boyfriend with Zev. He's the perfect combination of hard and soft, tough and gentle, gruff and sweet...plus he's sexy as all get out.

I read a lot of different authors but Devin Atwood sure has a grasp, that is as close to Perfection as possible, on witty dialog with lots of funny banter. This book had me giggling very early on, had me near tears more than once, accelerated my heart rate multiple times, and somehow or another managed to pull me out of one of the biggest reading hangovers I've had in years.

I hate writing reviews that talk too much about what happened in the book Because as a reader I want to discover that on my own but one of the things I love most in a review is a reader coming straight out and telling me this is worth reading if you want to experience a range of emotions and close this book with a smile on your face clutching it to your chest knowing that it was worth every second you invested in it then please pick up this book.

5/5 Stars!

I loved Zev's and Isla's story so much. These books are so fun, and I've adored every one in the series. I think this one may be my new favorite though (*whispers* don't tell Amos...). I finished this book in one day because I had so much fun reading it!

I really loved Isla and I enjoyed reading chapters from her perspective. She struggles with an invisible illness that has affected her life in multiple ways. Despite that, I thought her continued determination to pursue what she wanted to do in life as admirable.

Now onto Zev...mhhmm yes, I very much loved him!! He was the perfect blend of hotshot lawyer yet little secret cinnamon roll man. I adored him!! His fierce protectiveness over Isla made me swoon. Isla and him had such fantastic chemistry, and I am so glad they got their HEA.

I can't wait for Ghost's story next!

This was a very cute story. It is the fourth book in the Love and Other Jobs Series and they have all been really good books. I loved the original banter between the main characters and the evolution of their relationship. I love the interconnected characters from previous books and the hints for the coming books in the series. Having a silent illness myself, I could really relate to a lot of Isla’s thoughts and love the way Zev loved and cared for her. This book also had some interesting twists and turns. As soon as you thought the MCs were out of the woods, something else would happen and had me wondering if they would get there HEA. Overall I give it a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, only because I felt like we were missing some details at the end of the story and I give it a spicy rating of 🌶️ 🌶️.

Finished this book in literally 24 hours, I could not put it down !!!

This was the first book of Devon Atwood I have read but will not be the last (I have her Love MD book)
The banter between Zev and Isla was chefs kiss

I’ll admit it took a minute to wrap around the relationship with the characters LOL
We start out with Isla and Tristian (who are 1/2 siblings) attending a wedding (Amos) that happens to be the brother to Zev and Azura…..and Azura is dating Tristian….yeah it took me a minute also

But our story centers around Isla and Zev.
Isla suffers from a condition that will cause her to faint if she becomes upset, nervous or anxious…..which is exactly how her and Zev met when she falls out of a tree on top of him

Just trust me it’s really the best love story I’ve read in a minute and there is a nice bit of spice added to it!

Devon does it again with another 5 star read for me. This is book 4 in the series and it just keeps getting better and better!

The FMC, Isla is awkward and relatable who suffers from a silent illness. The illness is part of the story and Devon did an amazing job with it.
Zev, the MMC, is a perfect mix of grumpy x cinnamon roll, who does he research on how to accommodate Isla while she stays with him in his home.

Isla and Zev’s banter was chef’s kiss. The ankle bracelet scene had me in tears laughing.
The nicknames they give each other were hilarious.

“Teach me”.. SWOOON 🖤

The cameos from characters in the previous books were everything. The last book in this series is going to devastate me!

“Yes. But you don’t make me want to faint, Zev. You’re like Christmas morning. I get excited and nervous, but it’s the good kind.”

Love JD captured my heart from the beginning. You bet I had big heart eyes, a goofy smile, or a worried hand on my forehead throughout this whole book. This book has it all: heartwarming moments, cackling humor, and gripping the edge of your seat events.

Isla and Zev's story will captivate you from the beginning. Isla has so much sass, and Zev cocky attitude clashes but also melds well together. This book is a phenomenal representation of silent illness. Devon does an amazing job at making her writing feel so real. By the end of this series, these characters are going to feel like old friends.

How does Devon keep hitting it out of the park? I adore this story almost as much as I adore Love MD, and that's saying something, because I will always be team Dr. Brady. I was worried about how the fake dating would fit into all of this, it's a tricky trope to do well but in this case it made so much sense for the story and was more of a help than hindrance. More than anything I love the way Zev falls for Isla and is so accepting of her silent illness. It's so sweet and pure. The fact that Isla is so mild mannered to everyone except Zev is a nice touch. The instant feeling of being safe with someone is a feeling that we all deserve and I'm so glad she found it with such a complementary Yeti.....er, man.

Zev and Isla are captivating. I love that I learned a lot about dysautonomia which is something I've never heard of. I loved Isla even though she was a bit of clumsy mess that I think most people can relate to. Zev is the grumpy/alpha playboy who doesn't know how to do love but when Isla falls into to his arms things are about to change. Virgin heroine, invisible illness, protective alpha, sunshine/grump, age-gap and more. I think this one will check a lot of boxes for a lot of different people but I can tell you that I have really enjoyed this series and I loved this one. I loved seeing these two characters opening up to each other about very real/vulnerable things and growing together.

“My mindset is, you smell like strawberry shampoo and you’re wearing a towel, and it’s making me want to lick you”

This book at me laughing out loud. I barely made it through chapter 1 and I was cackling. The jokes being made at Tristan were hilarious! Zev and Isla are so cute together. I loved the banter between them. I've absolutely loved every single book in this series.
While the books in this series can be read as standalones I highly recommend reading them in order. I think you would have a better reading experience that way considering that characters from previous books come in. Devon does an amazing job. She is definitely one of my one click authors.

Devon Atwood does it again! The Love and Other Jobs series keeps getting better and better. I was privileged enough to get an advanced copy of this latest book, Love JD. This book follows Zev and Isla as they navigate fake dating and living together. Love JD is an age-gap romance. I am always wary of this trope because I often feel like the FMC is taken advantage of. Not this book! No. Zev and Isla's relationship unfolds with care and tenderness, and I was rooting for them the whole time. Their chemistry and banter are top-notch, and how Zev cares for Isla and her chronic illness will make you kick your feet and fill your heart. Highly recommend!

First, I wanna start off by saying that fake dating is one of my favourite tropes.
However, there was another trope present in this book that I normally have a lot of issues with, which is the age gap one. I'm not saying there's something morally wrong with it, but I have a hard time imagining someone nearing their 30s would be mentally attracted to someone who's barely legal. That being said, it was really well done in this book, and it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. I enjoyed how slow burn this book felt, and I also enjoyed the chronic illness rep we got. With the development that happened in this book, I can't wait to read the next (and final) book in this series.
