The Oceanography Show introduces us to Elizabeth, a businesswoman bent on destroying some tide pools so she can erect luxury condominiums. Poseidon, Greek god of the sea, has other ideas. To settle the dispute, the two of them set out to visit the wonders of the ocean! On the way, they'll visit fish and sea mammals, plankton and bioluminescent creaturesâ even do the "Continental Shuffle" on the continental shelf. It's a fun and educational journey to show Elizabeth that oceans are a series of interconnected systems, and destroying any one part will have unintended consequences elsewhere.
The Oceanography Show: Tide Pool Condos is a great complement to your curriculum resources in elementary and middle school science. And, like all of our plays, this show can be used to improve reading, vocabulary, reading comprehension, performance and music skills, class camaraderie and teamwork, and numerous social skills -- all while enabling students to be part of a truly fun and creative experience they will never forget!
