Theres, getting to know each other, Learning their past lives, what they want when they get to Oregon. Sharing their past lives, their faith, hard work. Fighting for the on you love. Struggling together for a good life to get a new life filled with love.
This is a sweet and heartwarming story yet one rife with human frailties. This is Emma Ford and James Garrison's story, and the character development is outstanding. Emma, along with her brother, flee New York City and head west with a wagon train after their father loses everything due to his gambling and Emma's fiancee' decides he does not want her. James, who is less than enamored with his army post, is assigned to accompany the wagon train west. Upon their first meeting, the sparks fly between James and Emma and not the good kind. They are both stubborn and very opinionated. But as time goes by, and the couple along with the entire wagon train face many dangers and obstacles feelings begin to change. Will James be able to protect Emma from danger and will they both realize the depth of their feelings for one another and find a HEA? Be sure and read this great story to find out; I know you will enjoy it as much as I did.
This was a sweet tale, but felt a bit rushed to me. A good bit of the repetition could have been taken out and replaced with something that would've given the reader more insight into the characters. I wasn't sold on the hero, though his deeds were heroic for the most part. The heroine...I really had a hard time liking her and finding her believable. Things went a little too smoothly for her, too. The dialog felt a bit choppy, too. A few more contractions would've helped, I think, especially considering the setting. Overall, this wasn't a bad story. It just wasn't my cuppa. If you're looking for something really sweet and sort of fairy-tale-ish, and you don't mind a little deviation from historical accuracy, you might enjoy this book.
Her Wagon Train Soldier by London James is a sweet historical romance that gripped me from the beginning and kept me turning the page! It takes place on the Oregon Trail, and the wagon train setting is almost a character unto itself. Emma and her brother, Everett, are headed West when James, a soldier with the Cavalry, joins the wagon train to escort them safely across dangerous territory. Emma and James are at odds in the beginning, but they soon begin to soften toward each other. Emma is a strong, stubborn woman who evolves into a brave woman of the frontier during the course of the novel. This second installment in this series is highly engaging, and I highly recommend it!
Emma and her brother, Everett, set off for Oregon on a wagon train, after her engagement is called off and her Father's financial ruin. It will be hard, but the two will have help with the other members of the group. They certainly are not used to this way of life. James is fed up with his commanding officer in the Calvary. When the chance comes to escort the wagon train, he does. Both Emma and James are hotheads, but it will help them in the end. The trail is hard, but perseverance will prevail. I was given an ARC of this book by the author for an honest review.
In this book 2 of the Wagon Train Women series, Author London James gives us and adventurous love story that is sure to please! When Emma and James cross paths there is definitely no love loss between them! Until….Emma says some things to James that makes him stop and think! You then see him begin a change from the inside out. I loved the thought provoking lesson that is contained in this story and can’t wait to read book 3 of the series! I was given a complimentary copy of this book. My thoughts are my own.
James is a lieutenant and stationed out on the wagon train trail on the way to Oregon. He is told to go with the wagon train to help protect them. Emma is running from her father, her mother, and the man that just jilted her. She find the handsome young lieutenant interesting and he seems interested in her too. Bandits hit their camp and kidnap Emma and another young woman. James realizes he has feelings for Emma and Emma finds she feels the same way. You will enjoy discovering how they find their happily ever after.
This book hooks you on the first page and doesn't let go. It has just the right amount of action, adventure, suspense and romance to keep you turning the pages. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of historical western romance. Great read! I received a complimentary copy and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
A young woman was getting married. As the daughter of a public official everyone was watching the details of this.union. Unfortunately, just before the wedding it was learned that her father had a reduction in his wealth and there were questions as to whether the ceremony would procede as scheduled. Read to learn about the details and if the ceremony took place.
Another great story in this series! There is adventure, romance, and some unexpected turns to the story. This continues on from the last one so best to read in order but could still could enjoy on its own. Definitely worth a reaf.
A father’s selfish actions destroy a family, sending Emma Ford (FMC) and her brother Emmett on the wagon train to Montana to start their lives over. A corrupt commanding officer’s illegal actions made soldier James Garrison’s (MMC) life miserable until he is able to leave the Army. His last assignment is as an escort for the same wagon train that includes Emma and Emmett. Both Emma and James are leaving behind lives in which those who were supposed to hold their best interests to heart betrayed them, forcing them to move on and make a new life. Montana seems to be the place where that can happen. The trip is perilous, and this book covers a small timeframe of that journey.
Her Wagon Train Soldier is the second book in a series about strong women on wagon trains, and this book does not disappoint. It is a sweet historical western featuring a former society lady that has become feisty to survive her new reality. She doesn’t shrink away when danger comes her way. This was unusual in a time when women were more demure and deferred to their male relatives. This book was a delight to read, and I definitely recommend it.
