Rate this book
"Falling in love for the first time can lead you on an amazing journey of self-discovery that forces you to question everything about yourself. For Tyler, this journey takes him through his past, present and future – from the core of his very being to the far reaches of the Universe and back to his life in comics, trying to figure it all out. I Met a Girl is the beginning of that journey. Tyler imagines his last year of college will be about partying with friends, making memories and producing his senior art show before graduating into the real world and the struggle to find his own artistic voice. Then he meets Nanette and everything changes... Witness the birth of a life in comics."

Shamelessly beta male who I'm going to avoid making fun of for innumerable reasons because it would take way too much time. He's so lucky it was a Minnesota art school chick because throughout this whole book he's the girl in the relationship and it's hard to find females as pretty as her that wouldn't have QUICKLY relegated him to best friend material. The first two dates he asked her out on were a Liz Phair concert and a Cinderella movie for God's sake- while forcing her to make all the "moves"!

His honesty about how the whole thing went down coupled and her occasional narration make it quality storytelling.

The art is FANTASTIC but he uses the same shirts constantly.

Self-publishing always impresses me- this guy is highly motivated.

Love the art and the method of story telling. Although the main character doesn't become that relateable until the end of the story, which I assume is intentional due to the fact that the second book is almost twice the page count of the first.
