The Phoenix Generation: A New Era of Connection, Compassion, and Consciousness

Rate this book
Humanity is entering a momentous phase in its history. Being born today is a generation of children that will radically reinvent human society, moving our culture from competition, control, and censorship toward connection, communication, and compassion. The Phoenix Generation's impact will begin to be felt in 2030, but there much to do to prepare for their arrival.

The book is divided into three parts. Part one briefly describes the thorny issues (e.g. global warming, nationalism, and food and water shortages) that the solution-oriented ways of the Phoenix will resolve. Dennis posits that the generations of adults living today are the bridge to the Phoenix and he shows how such developments as the worldwide web and the explosion of mobile technologies are paving the way for them. Part two describes the changes in our own consciousness being brought about by technology and what we need to do to speed their arrival. Part three gives details how the Phoenix generation will be different from us.

The Phoenix Generation will work toward forming a planetary societya transition more radical than the shift from agrarian to urban life during the Industrial Revolution. These children are being born with increased instinctive intelligence and with a greater degree of inherited wisdom. With them, the quantum revolution begun 100 years ago will become mainstream. This will bring about a shift away from external dependencies (e.g. our dependency on higher education for career advancement). This normalizing of new perspectives, cosmic awareness, and of multi-dimensional realities will usher in a great wave of change. The Phoenix Generation is a deeply positive examination of our collective future.

When people ask me - 'How long did it take you to write the book?' - I'm not sure whether to answer 6 months or 20 years! This book is important to me in that it represents also a major change in my life. The book encapsulates the changes I also had to make....for some years I knew I had to change the direction of my life. Finally (to cut a long story short!), I ended up in Andalusia with one 15kg bag of clothes, and one hand-luggage of my mini-laptop and books. I rented an old Andalusian house on the cliff-top of a white town (blanco pueblo), and sat down to write the book. Physically, the book was written in 6 months. Yet I had to live 20 years to arrive at the place in myself where the book could be written. It was finished in August 2009 - yet not published until September 2011....2 years of patient waiting, whilst the events I had discussed in the book were passing in the world.

Some of the information in the book I had stored in files from previous years as my thoughts were attempting to clarify themselves. I felt that this book not only wrote itself, yet also took my earlier thoughts and wove them into a clear, narrative thread.

This book converges many themes: from sociology, evolutionary theory, quantum sciences, psychology, ancient wisdom, to metaphysics. I felt I needed to do this to provide a fuller 'bigger picture'. This may not be to everyone's liking as sometimes its the case that a sociology-orientated person may not appreciate the metaphysical aspects, and vice-versa. Yet since I wear both hats - an ex-Sociology university lecturer, and long-time consciousness researcher - for me the mix was a natural one. After all, the world is larger - and often weirder - than we can fully grasp. And part of the new consciousness that is emerging to replace our old-paradigm patterns/models of thinking, is more integral, and open to assimilating a broader picture.

I hope you will get out as much from this book as I have.....thank you for reading....and Enjoy!

This is one of the most important books you need to read ASAP. Dennis does a fabulous job of describing "where" we are now as a species in the vast cosmos; then he ties everything to scientific investigations/theories/facts to show that not only are we in the midst of a series of converging crises, but we also have a way to take some control over our future and evolve great new ideas for how we live on this Earth. He does a very good job of objectively illustrating how authority figures (government and religious) have reacted to serious crises by consolidating their power, and then goes on to explain how a surprisingly small group of well-informed evolutionaries and visionaries could interact to create opportunities for vast and significant changes to the ways man interacts with his entire environment. Non-political, yet highly political in terms of how the populace must face these challenges together, and how we must work hard to ensure that our collective and individual consciousnesses evolve to face the cosmic nature of the problems we now face.

I'm being honest by saying I have 'read' this book...though it still has not been published yet...I suppose I should go one step further, and admit that I even wrote it!

I consider this book to be the final saga in my trilogy ('New Consciousness for a New World; & 'The Struggle for your Mind'). It explores both the 'bigger picture' - how we are moving through periods of change where old models hang on for power whilst new models & systems emerge, first as anomalies and then as major players. And it also examines how our general psychology and consciousness is being affected by new technologies and rising human awareness. I discuss how 3 revolutions often occur around the same time and affect each other: Revolutions in Energy, Communication, & Consciousness. I also discuss the possibility that our planetary civilization is slowly moving from a more 'hardware' (material) level to 'software' (ethereal) based culture. This happens to be in-keeping with new dates on the Hindu Yuga Cycles. E.g., just as heavy cables are now shifting to wi-fi; large desktop computers to cloud computing; so too is consciousness picking up on the more subtle influences....and is adapting to this change - especially in the younger generations. The book also takes a look at the next 50 years...and what aspects we may see emerging....

For me, this book is a culmination of my last several years of exploration about the nature of our changing world and selves - and makes what I feel is a pretty good summary of this...Well, let's see what others' feel when the book is published on November 8th! :-)

PS. Official book blurb follows:

Humanity is in the midst of great transformation. Our world is undergoing three types of revolution, all co-dependent: physical, psychic and cosmological. The media report dramatic changes due to climatic disruption: earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, and volcanic eruptions. We are also witnessing a surge in popular protest, as decades of corrupt or inefficient social systems face their nemesis. Yet within this outward turmoil more subtle shifts are occurring, such as the transition of the 'modern' mind from the industrial-globalisation model towards a life-sustaining, ecological-cosmological world-view. Western thinking, with its linear notion of history and progress, has robbed us of enchantment. Many ancient teachings (both spiritual and secular) and many indigenous cultures speak to us of cyclic processes over long periods of historical time. This book looks at the concept of the Hindu Yugas (great cycles) that reflect the rise and fall of civilisations, as well as ebbs and flows in our moral and intellectual health. In the years to come, humanity will adapt itself to a world in revolution, and our lives will be re-energised. This book provides a user's guide to new worlds and new world-views, and to 'a fresh release of spiritual energy'.

I began writing this book almost immediately after I had finished my previous one ('New Consciousness for a New World') - even before I had found a publisher for it. For me it was a natural progression and was, in sorts, a sequel to the earlier one. Whereas 'New Consciousness' was looking more at the bigger picture; of evolutionary and socio-cultural cycles, this book was getting in closer - into our minds. I wanted to explore a subject that I had been doing research on for a number of years; that is, social conditioning, and how society manipulates human patterns of thinking. Yet my aim was also to tie this in with not only the necessity of conscious evolution, but also with the rising shifts in conscious awareness now emerging across the planet. I saw this 'playing field' as an area of current contestation: how authority structures wish to maintain power over human thinking & belief systems; and the rising awareness of the masses.

This book is the result of that exploration....and I feel the book more or less wrote itself! I hope you enjoy the read...

I'm not biased on this book - because I wrote it - I'm just subjectively positioned! :-) I have to say I am pleased with this book, as it is a culmination of my thinking over the years. I first mentioned the 'Phoenix Generation' in a previous book ('Dawn of the Akashic Age'), and I wanted to return to this theme for a complete treatment. I also feel this book is more speculative than my previous works; and also more readable. I have attempted to make it less 'academic' by way of having less references and notes. It was written more from intuition, and is the culmination of my current research and thinking. In a way it is also the culmination of my work to date. I have nothing else to say after this - literally! So please enjoy...and let me know what YOU think....

Oh yeah - and the blurb says:

"Ahhh...We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time..."

The last great frontiers of exploration may just be as close to home as ourselves. In Meeting Monroe, we find that safe and welcoming place to take that journey and understand that it is up to us to take it or not. This deep dialogue invites and welcomes us to take the journey at our own pace, understanding and perspective and to appreciate the perception of the bigger picture affecting the very nature of what we consider reality. The gentle conversations explore the perceptions of our conditioned boundaries and encourages us to see-beyond, to what we already know.....everything! I read this book as ever, at a moment in my life when I am ready to really explore first hand the possibilities that Monroe speaks of. For me, there were deeply profound insights, many of which I was already aware of, but nevertheless, presented in an interesting and engaging manner, that didn't let me put the book down. Meeting Monroe comes to me in my life at the perfect moment and it is for this reason its impact is insightful, enjoyable and fulfilling. I would sincerely recommend Meeting Monroe to everyone who has ever had an inkling for answering that big question of 'Why we are here." Thank you Kingsley. (Bobi Kaponay)

Again, I admit I am biased since I am the author of this book. As I say in the blurb, it is an understated book....I feel it quietly overwhelms...and has its own power to affect the reader. Rather than wishing for some traditional, mainstream book with marketing hype - I preferred to let this one slip quietly into the public domain. When you read it, you will know why. Here's what I wrote about it:

"One day, unexpectedly, the author meets an unusual person whom he simply comes to know as ‘Monroe’. A series of extraordinary meetings then begin to take place in a small town in Andalusia, southern Spain. Over the course of several intense weeks the author, himself already a respected writer, comes to understand through Monroe that humanity is on the cusp of a remarkable stage in its evolutionary journey. In the author’s own words - “If there’s one thing that Monroe has taught me it’s that we are all blinded by our false systems of thought: beliefs, assumptions, opinions, etc. We create our own barriers to understanding, and we reinforce these limitations throughout our lives.” What follows in this remarkable, understated book may seem unbelievable, even fanciful. Yet, as the author himself questions: perhaps that is the whole point?"

What more can I say??

I am a huge fan of Kingsley L. Dennis's works. He has written extensively on the topic of a vision for our future, and he incorporates data, details opinions and explanations from a variety of sources. The Earth is undergoing a tremendous change right now, and changes in the past have resulted in massive extinction events. This is the first time that human beings have actually contributed to the situation, and also -- most important of all -- the first time we have an opportunity to do something about what his happening. Global climate change is already upon us. We cannot stop it - period! But we can reconfigure how we carry out our systems of living so that we can reduce the impact, and learn how to adapt and live with the changes. He addresses historical examples of how people changed for the times, and provides significant information about how we can adapt to what is coming. I recommend looking at his other books as well. They provide an optimistic view of where we can be heading, and gives very good advice about how we can help change the national conversation to one that promotes both a world view and ways to act locally.

This short & poetic book of interweaving tales is one that I have self-published online. Originally I wrote it without the intention of publishing it - letting it lie as a pdf download. I then decided to offer it as a Kindle e-book for those wishing to read it on a device preferable to a pdf! Finally, I have decided to make it available as a print-on-demand paperback - at a very reasonable price: the price of the printing!

It consists of stories within stories - many of them reminiscent of old dervish tales. I have also written two parallel 'narrative' threads that weave together....and somehow I have attempted to bring the reader back to the beginning, at the end - and to know the place for the first time (as TS Eliot would say!)..... enjoy the ride..... :-)

“We create our own barriers to understanding and we reinforce our limitations to life”. That sums it up. In awareness we realize how something essential and most authentic of what we are is compromised. We can come to find this through the conditioning and social pressure to be something else and in that rediscovery there is again an evolutionary aspect of existence renewed.

as hopeful as this book made me feel, i felt as though it dragged on way too long. a lot of the words this author used weren’t very engaging to me, so even though the message is wonderful, it was hard for me to not space out at certain points. the best part about this book is it gave me a little more hope that we’re all going to be alright.

These are just New Age ideas revamped for 21st century with an attempt to give them a scientific justification. That's not really a problem as such ideas have been around for a long time and as they invariably get nowhere (after all they are such pie in the sky ideas) there will always be someone who with come up with a new version of the new age.

But what makes this pernicious is the way that Dennis tries to seduce young people into this with a pseudo scientific argument. I use the word pernicious as he takes certain aspects of present day society which cause concern to many (such as the failing education system and the pressure that young people are being placed under from an early age) and then suggests that because they are being treated so badly they will be the generation to change things in a fundamental way.

He considers that the internet has broken down barriers so that people can talk to each other across international boundaries in a way they never could before. It's true that the web has made things possible but surely the jury's out if that ability to communicate much faster and to a more extensive audience necessarily means that the communication is of a higher quality.

There's an equal argument that being able to communicate faster only means people talk more rubbish and in a more obscure manner. Studies have shown that more than 60% of emails require a follow up question as the speed of communication means that people don't think before pressing the send button. And the horror stories of what young people, in particular, are placing – in theory for eternity – on social media is not a good sign of a positive development in technology.

And his use of the so-called Arab Spring falls flat on its face when we see that nothing has fundamentally changed in those countries that are still functional states. In those where all structure has broken down you would find few that would argue that things have changed for the better.

But it's when Dennis gets towards the end of his book that his dreams just shift into science fiction. To suggest that youth DNA is changing within a generation is to deny that we are where we are after millions of years of evolution. To be able to communicate intuitively, as he suggests, doesn't happen because someone 25 years ago invented the World Wide Web.

What Dennis has to realise (as well as those others who look for Third, Fourth or ad infinitum Ways) is that the only way to change society is to change it fundamentally from the bottom and do what the revolutionaries in the English Civil War aimed to do, that is, turn the world upside down.

That won't come easily and won't come without a lot of pain. The refusal to believe that only makes the patient sicker and the pain more prolonged.

A Goodreads First Reads winner.

This book is a must-read for anyone, especially by those who are disengaged from the world events, powerless in the face of current changes, those who are looking for meaning of them and those who misunderstand them completely (although the last group will be probably the least likely to read it).

I was sceptical about this book at first expecting it to be purely based on the New Age doctrine. Although it does correspond with a lot of its concepts, what may put off heavy supporters of Newtonian materialism, it's refreshingly backed up by the newest findings in modern bioscience geology, quantum physics and obvious socio-cultural changes. The book is exceptionally well researched and supported by relevant literature and details of the physical/ cosmic changes occurring on this planet right now, independently from the interference of the mankind; the decay of modern culture and the collapse of established eco-political systems. Regardless of whether or not Kingley's predictions turn out to be true his book is an undeniable eye-opener. No matter how biased the reader, it's nearly impossible to be indifferent to the strong points made in this book. These, teamed up with evidence of the transformation happening around us, should encourage anyone to do their own research and prove/ disprove the validity of Kingsley's theories.
The author proposes a positive and considerate solution to the issues of the modern world emphasising that the power to change them lies within every individual. We're currently living in the times of most profound transformation, unprecedented circumstances and newfangled opportunities. Mindful development of our consciousness and informed choices will now determine the shape of our future. Our transformation can be either beneficial or disastrous for the evolution of the humankind, what is sure is that it's imminent.
Some hypothesis may be somewhat counter-intuitive taking into consideration the pre-determined structures and trends in our culture hence the book should be read with an open mind.

The book is a solid and engaging account on expected and greatly needed shift in the world that mainstream publications severely suffer from shortage of.

This is an important book for everyone regardless of political, religious or social affiliation. It isn't conspiracy theory - it's a sober analysis of the distractions created willingly, or unwillingly within society that steer citizens from living a life of purpose and free thinking. The author does a concise and well thought out detail of the mechanisms in place that influence our thinking, shape our opinions, but mostly create downright internal chaos and confusion which lead to a mentally exhausted populace, easier to rule, stirred to action when it suits the purposes of our authoritarian masters. If you are aligned with the political Left or Right, you'll find no comforting pandering here. This is an analysis of the bigger picture. As I am fond of saying, it's not a Left/Right issue. It's a freedom issue. The author breaks down the various meme programming tactics used to shape thought and suppress further realization of self-esteem and consciousness. Once he's done horrifying you with the details of day to day facade we toil within, he prescribes strategies for freeing oneself. For you see, the mind is an incredibly resilient machine once its potential for self sufficient thought is unlocked. Freedom of thought should lead the masses away from the slavery of technological induced technique-worship to form a new connection with the natural world and it benefits of harmony awareness. i.e. I don't think he's saying put phone down and tune out (though God knows that wouldn't hurt) but rather be aware of its capacity as a conduit of disinformation, false flags, hashtag activism, warped facts, propaganda, vice enticements, scientific absolutism and other such distracting nonsense. As a person who is interested in the fields of psy-ops, media, PR, sociology and spy craft, I found this book intensely well written, thorough and thought provoking. Every citizen should read it.

Mundus Grundy is my first published book for children; and while it is aimed at the 'Preschool - 12' age range, it's really a tale for everyone. It is a way of using fantasy and humor to weave in other messages that help to layer the story. I hope that readers of all ages will enjoy the quirkiness of the story...and although it's about the age-old rivalry between gnomes and goblins, it is also about the timeless realms we inhabit - and it also includes a goblin social revolution named as 'Goblinism' (because all revolutions have an 'ism'!).... But hey, don't just listen to me - here's what one recent reviewer said on Amazon:

"Mundus Grundy" by Kingsley L. Dennis is a delightful book giving us insights into the Kingdom of Gnomes. Thanks to the author, we are able to understand why we have never seen a running gnome, or why if we have seen one, it has always been a stone gnome. Also, the book explains why stone gnomes have the tendency to appear at a time when we are recovering from some unexpected troubles. I strongly suspect that it was the mysterious Monroe, described by Dennis in his previous book ("Meeting Monroe"), who provided the secret oath that allowed the author to pass through the Blue Portal into the Octagonal Lodge of the Kingdom of Gnomes. Over there the author met the King Mundus Grundy and Farnuk Tam, the self-appointed king of rubber pot-bellied goblins. Both Mundus and Farnuk are shown on the cover of the book. Among the other inhabitants of Grundusland are Bodel the imp, Kluth the djinn, winged Spiritely Neem, sun-deva Veeza, and others. Definitively, "Mundus Grundy" would make a fantastic comic strip. Although the book is listed as belonging to the category of "juvenile fiction", I strongly recommend it for readers of all ages. (By Roman on September 26, 2015)

*I won this book as part of Goodreads' Giveaways*

Basically I put the book down as soon as the author mentioned Leylines. I'd been persevering through torrents of psycho-spiritualism and other such nonsense-that kind of and pseudo-science shit just doesn't hold with a hard-line materialist like me. Despite that the author has some interesting perspectives of what is wrong with modern society and where it should be going. But he hasn't quite grasped it.

Dennis notes that society is ill with consumerism and celebrity culture, and he is quite right, but they are the symptoms of the illness rather than the illness itself which is of course Capitalism. The author goes on to say that with the advent of modern social media humanity is moving from an individualistic social outlook to a collective one. I think there is some truth in that as communities can be created across the globe, but ultimately they are still lorded over by the big bosses of the internet such as Google and Facebook who allow national governments to spy on the activity of the online users so in fact yes the people have been collectivised but only so they can be better controlled and preyed upon by the powers that be. Power structures that he thinks will just fall away because of all the positive energy we are collecting. Yea right. He is right to assume that Capitalism promotes vicious individualism and a system where we are all trying to trample on each others' heads to reach the top, and indeed a collective approach to organising society would allow better development of humans as individuals rather than a system that seeks collective success by cut-throat individualism. First however we need to unite and overthrow Capitalism-no Leylines necessary.

I stumbled across this book on my way to seeking out another of Kingsley's books, "Breaking the Spell:An Exploration of Human Perception". I downloaded the kindle version out of curiosity with the proclamation of "Conversations with a Man Who Came To Earth". Certainly got my attention! I am grateful to Kingsley for being daring enough to share his experience with Monroe in the form of a book. As a man of academia, this would have been obviously with its risks. May I provide additional confirmation that your brave decision has found a grateful recipient in myself.
After a personal journey of transformation, I now consider myself at least widely read in the areas of philosophy, psychology, quantum physics and spirituality. There was nothing that Monroe said that contradicted in any way my own studies of the topics he spoke to you about; especially those dealing with the evolution of human consciousness. In fact even the terms used by Monroe, such as, "You carry the codes within you for opening the doors that lay ahead", and "you are a living library" were terms that I heard from audios teachings of the Pleiadians. Coincidence? Only if you believe in them. Even the very concept of "perceptions" is the foundations of the teachings contained within the Course in Miracles.
But then as a co-author of books such as "Dawn of the Akashic Age" with legend, Ervin Laszlo" this is not news to you Mr Dennis.
Anyway, for those students on the path, this book is a welcome reminder of where everything is heading and well worth a read. For me, I'm on to my next book,"Breaking the Spell".

An interesting book purporting to be about how one can survive these transitional times into a coming "spiritual renaissance". It is a reasonably good read, however the author ties himself into "new-age" stuff so much that it reduces the credibility of his work.

There is indeed some scientific basis for some of his projections, however I don't see humanity getting out of it's troubles anytime soon without the aid of some external agency. This could come in the form of, for example, a large natural disaster that unites the human race, or we unite against some common foe. The human race is currently far too fragmented to evolve as it should be doing, despite increasing pressure to do so.

Thus I would suggest reading the book (as indeed it ought to be read) with a grain of salt, and adopt a quizzical frame of mind while doing so.

This short book was an experiment...in writing a form of 'dream fiction' that wove together a collection of tales between a narrative based on a dreaming...connected with a second narrative dream sequence that was separate yet ultimately connected...if that makes sense?

I attempted to write in simple yet poetic prose...to enjoy the tales, their possible meanings, and yet not to try to understand it from a linear, rational perspective...just flow with the tales and enjoy...

I gave my own book 4 stars because, since it is an early experiment, I naturally could not have got it right this time.....!
