What if your greatest weakness is your greatest strength?
For the Enneagram Eight—the Defender—life is all about protecting and empowering others. While our unfair and apathetic world desperately needs your big heart and bravery, sometimes your desire for intensity causes you to either burn out or burn bridges.
Certified Enneagram Coach and pastor, Tyler Zach, offers this 40-day devotional to help you hear from God and encourage you as you make the world a more just place with your passion, determination, and resiliency.
Inside, you’ll discover how to conquer your fear of vulnerability, develop greater emotional intelligence, master the art of slowing down, navigate the complexities of being misunderstood, adopt mercy as your new currency, and find peace in God’s presence rather than springing into action. Be prepared to encounter a powerful God who wants to refine those smooth edges without compromising your true self.

This was so so interesting! I hugely enjoyed the teachings and discoveries I made while reading this. Gave me a better understanding of of myself and God!
Zach delivers all it he promises right from the introduction. I felt like the woman at the well having someone tell me everything about me. I wasn't just challenged, I was convicted. Every 8 should own a copy Melanie Erickson
Tyler has done a fabulous job connecting what it is to “be an 8” with our faith. As a female 8 it is easy to feel “too strong” or “too assertive”, but Tyler’s book reminded me that I was made this way in God. That I can and do use my strength to help others. To lift others up. Thank you Tyler for this hopeful book!
As an Enneagram coach I’ve recommended and gifted Tyler’s devotionals to clients and friends, and I’m delighted once again to see how he has captured the heart of dominant Type Eights in The Gospel for Defenders! In true Tyler form, his pastoral heart, shepherding voice, and rich knowledge of the Enneagram reminds Eights that the Gospel encourages, challenges, and celebrates them - and that’s good news. No one champions others like a Defender!
Additionally, each type tends to have certain and specific themes of wounding and brokenness. Tyler lovingly guides the reader in shining a light on the places within them where they can specifically invite the healing grace of God in, as He continually grows and forms them.
Tyler’s latest devotional The Gospel for Defenders will be a true gift to Eights and to those who love them!
Some helpful insights here. I have low interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence, so I found it helpful to have my tendencies explained in terms I can understand. The author does much to redeem and affirm a type 8, as God wired them to protect, lead, and assert for a reason.
