The Daymakers

Rate this book
The Daymakers were the hottest alt-rock band since the nineties, the masked members making fans swoon at the very thought of who might be hiding under the skull masks. Known only by their stage names–Royal, Hero, Poet and Knight–their real identities were a carefully held secret.

I was third-generation white trash who had no value to society. That was a direct quote from my guidance counselor, by the way. She wasn’t wrong, not really. My mom had OD’ed and my dad was in prison. I had no one and nothing.

Our paths should never have crossed. But by a weird twist of fate–and the flying fists of my ex-boyfriend–I ended up in the wrong place at the right time. Hiding from my ex beneath a tour bus, I was a convenient solution to an ongoing problem for the tour company.

They needed their band members to stop screwing random groupies and risking the anonymity which brought in millions of dollars for both the band and the label.

I needed to get the hell away from LA and earn enough money to have a fresh start.
I was taking back my future, and if that meant going on tour across the country as a glorified toy for the pleasure of some masked rockstars, then it was my choice.

Unfortunately, the demons of my past weren’t done with me yet.

THE DAYMAKERS is a standalone why choose, RH, rockstar romance. This book has sensitive topics. Always check the trigger warnings.

When I was nine, my grandmother and her friends used to read and swap Harlequin Mills and Boons novels. When I was busted reading one, they started sneaking me boxes full of strong heroines and rugged men. Thus started a long love affair with the romance genre.

Then I discovered urban fantasy, and fell in love with broody Alphas and sexy paranormals, and combining them together was a no brainer.

Then I discovered Reverse Harem.... Oh my. Why choose, am I right?

*3.5* Running away from an abusive boyfriend, Charlotte jumps a fence during a rock concert and is discovered under the tour bus the band’s manager. The band makes a deal with her.

I’ve gone from a battered ex-girlfriend to a masked band’s glory hole.

Very superficial
Easily consumable
Light in character building
No large group scenes
RH - no sword crossing
The sex was just sex, lacking intimacy
No cheating
Silly legal drama near the end
HFN/HEA

Random thoughts while reading:

This is a weird mix of a smutfest and a soulful search for more out of life?

Spit roasted ONE day after receiving a split lip, swollen closed eye and bruised ribs???? She doesn't even have a chance to heal?

Helen is the best character in the story.

Did anyone else have a craving for Five Guys after reading this?

Questions: (slight spoilers)

Where was the mm? Hero and Poet are in love and spoon every night but no on-page intimacy?

How did she wander around the tour bus wearing a blindfold and not break all her toes on everything?

How did her ex know so much about her whereabouts?

How did her ex discover what every single other reporter and groupie was never able to figure out?

I loved the story but was a bit disappointed about the ending.
The beginning really pulled me in. I was laughing, I was crying. I was feeling all the feels. But at some point it was like the author was downgrading the storyline to ensure it didn’t have too many pages or something. There were whole gaps in the timeline and as a result it became tell instead of show in those parts.
The ending was a let down. I expected a big bang-ending and it was like a fire that stopped burning at the end of the rope. Also, why tease about bisexual sex, without writing a scene where there literally is bisexual sex happening! That’s just blasphemy 😂 there was a lot of kink implied in the book and there was nothing to show for it in the actual sex scenes, other than C making R get to his knees.
So yea, i did like the book, but there was stuff missing for me too. I think this story would’ve been better told, with better character and relationship development in two books.

A btw: I’m an amputee and if you are rich and can afford latest technology you need to look for prosthetic research when writing. There’s better prosthetic’s than what Poet was wearing; for the amount of money he has he shouldn’t have to live with (that much) limping and discomfort/pain.

It’s always very clear if I’m enjoying a book, by how late I am willing to stay up to finish it. I stayed awake till 4 am, on a work night (very tired now), but I think it was worth it. It’s definitely up there as one of the best Rockstar books I've read.

I found this book by chance and was not let down from the start. That first chapter yanks at your heartstrings and you can’t help but feel so much empathy for her. The need to throat-punch her ex-boyfriend is so strong 💪🏼.

👇No big spoilers are revealed 👇

So the premise is that she enters into this situationship, where she is basically a legal sex worker for this band. Her options are limited in how to make money, but this choice was never forced onto her, she was given an out at many points. She thinks of it as regaining her independence and finally being able to make decisions for herself. I never thought of her in a negative light, maybe because she is such a likeable character.

The MMCs all wear masks for anonymity on stage, but they also wear them in front of the FMC. It’s basically Fort Knox. Nothing is getting out. It was a different way to explore their intimacy, but ultimately it really added to the plot. The FMC’s personality definitely changed after she got her own mask. In a very positive way.

I loved the names the MMCs created for themselves as well, especially what they represented. I didn’t love the name ‘Dreamer’ so much for the FMC, but I understood it.

Overall, I really enjoyed it and it got me out of my book slump. Slightly sad that it’s a stand-alone, but I will definitely be checking out her other books.

FYI. There is no third-act break-up. I feel like this is important to say. Most of the rockstar books I’ve read have been and I hate them that’s twist.

⚠️Triggers: Domestic violence & attempted SA.

This book is kinda fun, kinda cringey. The first half was a high 4 stars (it’s a very fun premise), but it started to drop when the gimmick wore off.

This was a fun listen, more so in the first half than in the second. The concept was interesting and I liked the characters enough to wish this wasn't a standalone, but did I connect with them on some deeper level? No. That's okay though, and I do have a favourite (it's Shep, duh).

The narrators made this experience more enjoyable for me, but not even they could save the somewhat disappointing ending. It felt like partial closure, but also not really, because justice wasn't served. This would be the perfect time to announce a sequel!! I'm just saying.

As far as rockstar romances go, this was pretty good. Like, I don't really have any complaints, and I probably liked it more than some other rockstar romances I've read, so yeah.

I'd be open to reading something else by Grace McGinty in the future.

That's the END??? I liked this but seriously, that's it? There was so much left unsaid and so much left undone!!! This easily needed 50-100 pages more.

Sigh. Anyways, I'd be lying if I said I hadn't read this book because the band description reminded me of Sleep Token. What can I say, I am a simple girl.

quick and easy rockstar reverse harem,,,

McGinty is no muss no fuss and I appreciate her books because they don’t require elaborate buy in from me, I’m just along for the ride. I know she’ll always give me an HEA and MMCs who are down bad for the FMC, and sometimes, that’s exactly what we need.

Terrific reverse harem rockstar romance!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🖤💙💜❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌎
Character development: 🙂🥰😎😄😘
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Duet Narration

The heroine: Charlotte (a.k.a. Lottie) - she was white trash and was told so more than once in her life. She thought she had it made when she fell for an attorney, those she missed a lot of red flags with him. Like the fact that he hadn’t let her work, and made it so her only friends were his friends. So when Tom starts pushing her around, it doesn’t surprise her. Charlotte didn’t expect to be beat so badly in a dark alley one night after Tom took some kind of drug in the bathroom of the bar where they were drinking. She gets away from him and runs, knowing he would kill her if he caught her.

The Heroes: Royal, Poet, Knight, Hero - They are the band called The Daybreakers, Their gimmick is that they play in masks, so really nobody knows who they are. They are famous and the females really loved them, even if they never took off the masks for anyone but a small inner circle. Management has been pretty tired of having to get random women to sign NDA’s and paying out a lot of money to women who accidentally saw behind the masks and threatened to tell all.

The Story: Charlotte runs from Tom and is able to get into the private area outside a stadium where a concert is going on. She hides underneath a tour bus and after Tom is turned away by a security guard, she is found by that same guard named Shep, who was nice to her. The people from the tour find her and take care of her overnight. She was planning to get off on their stop in Las Vegas, when the tour manager shows his frustration at the way the band has been womanizing and costing them problems. She suggests an unconventional solution to both of their situations.

I wasn’t too fond of the way Charlotte ended up with the band. I though it was basically prostitution and I like heroines with a bit more self respect and pride. Though it basically seemed like Charlotte’s background and lack of education were used as a way to make what she was doing a much better option than any other she had available. I did like the fact that Charlotte didn’t know the band and wasn’t a big fan of them before ending up near their bus. Though the way she talked about all the bad things that had happened to her in her life made her sound like she was trying to justify her choices.

“Sometimes I feel like I was born to be a victim. My parents were shit, my home life was shittier, my boyfriend and every boyfriend before him have all used me like I was worth nothing. I’m doing this to get past that. If my body can pay my way. I’m happy to use it.”

Some of they guys weren’t much better in the way they treated her. Especially Royal, who called her a toy and treated her as such. The character of Shep (band manager and head of security) was a bit of a conundrum throughout much of this, he was kind and seemed to connect with Charlotte before any of the guys in the band, and he definitely had a crush on her. He was about ten years older than the guys, but had been with them for years and was good friends with all of them, so I wasn’t sure if he was going to end up in the harem or what.

The characters were fantastic, I liked Shep and Poet the best, but all the guys had different personalities. I also liked that they each had some back stories behind their masks. The main conflict in the story with Charlotte’s ex boyfriend was pretty good as well and the entire book held my interests in different ways. I liked the fact that they had to make a big decision about their future and it wasn’t just about their feelings for Charlotte.

“The voice of reason was an asshole sometimes.”

This audiobook was told in multiple points of view and was narrated in duet narration by Alexis Paige, Grayson Owens, James Cassidy and Theo Sinclair. I loved the fact that this was done in duet and that there were different narrators for each of the main characters. I also loved the fact that each of the male narrators had different, but sexy voices.

This was definitely a fun read. It had me interested from the start.

There are definitely some things that I didn't like....

I feel like it teased us the whole book only to give us zero group scene. It kinda didn't even feel like an RH.

I would have loved to have connected more with Shep. I honestly didn't connect with any of them. It was like BOOM. These are our real identities. Like we were expected to be like WOW. It kinda fell flat, and I felt like I connected with them even less.

All in all, it was a fun read. With so much potential!

The Daymakers is yet another feather for Grace McGinty to put in her cap. McGinty is already one of my auto-buy romance authors–especially when it comes to why-choose romance–and it’s books like The Daymakers that remind me why I love her so much.

You can read the plot synopsis online. I don’t need to repeat it here. (Go do that if you need to and then come back.)

Okay, so the plot isn’t exactly a brand-new idea, but I’m not taking off points for that because I rarely tire of why-choose rockstar romances like this. One of my favorite why-choose book series of all-time has a plot that’s in the same vein as this one (a desperate girl ends up on a rock band’s tour bus and ends up being their personal toy and they both have mm in them, but that’s where the similarities end) and as far as I’m concerned I could read several books with that same general vibe and never tire of it. McGinty does it particularly well here, leaning into the sex worker and feminist aspects of Charlotte’s (the FMC) role in the book and making it about her taking back control of her body and her life when so much of her life has been in the control of so many other people who used it and abused it. Sex work can be empowering for some, and I loved how McGinity leaned into that.

The spice was a solid 3 / 3 on my spice scale. This was due to the number of spicy scenes, the language, the kinks, and the shared partners. There are no large group scenes in this book, but I actually think the book was better for it for once. This book is more about Charlotte’s individual dynamics with each band member than it is with the band as a whole, so the individualized attention works better (save for the shared experiences with Hero and Poet).

I don’t think I need to tell you that the boys are definitely book boyfriend material. Grace McGinity does love her bad boy exteriors with marshmallow interiors. And the villain in this one is most definitely someone you’re going to love to hate (I personally wished he could’ve been done in). The supporting characters were fun and sweet, and the concert scenes were fun.

You’re going to want to read it. You’re going to love it.

The Daymakers by Grace McGinty is a delicious masked rockstar romance.

What’s better than one masked rockstar, though? FOUR! Then add one more to the mix! This why choose, RH beauty is well written and keeps you wanting more. Angsty with great spice and wonderful character development. I would definitely suggest checking the trigger warnings, though, as there are some heavy themes.

The Daymakers audiobook is a duet, multicast production. Narrated by Alexis Paige, James Cassidy, Grayson Owens, and Theo Sinclair. Already being a fan of Alexis and Grayson, I had no fears when it came to their performances. Of course, they hit it out of the park. I don’t have as much experience with James and Theo, but I’m definitely a fan now. A perfectly picked cast for the characters they portrayed. All the wonderful performances made for an excellent audiobook.

I’d like to thank Sparks Fly Studios for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook.

Honestly, I shouldn’t have even picked this up because of the subject matter. I don’t find any strength in a heroine who chooses to prostitute, because that’s EXACTLY what this is…she’s their toy and they pay her, out to men. I also found her quite weak all around. Based on her past she never tried to better herself, she’s the constant victim.

Obviously, this is a me thing because quite a few will find her strong for making the choice she did, hence the no rating.

3.5 ⭐️

The Daymakers was exactly what I needed when I stumbled upon it while looking for a “palate cleanser” to get me out of a funk. It was overall a light and fun (ignoring Charlotte’s past abuse) and smutty standalone read!

The rockstar reverse harem premise reminded me a lot of CM Stunich’s Groupie trilogy which I loved! But the masked bank thing gave this story and the plot a nice twist that made the story more unique.

The ending seemed a bit fast paced with a bit of instalove- or at least very quick falling, but everything was wrapped up nicely into a HEA and implied a nice future for Charlotte and the guys! Overall a fun read that was just what I needed at the time.

I was in the mood for a rockstar romance and this one hit the spot. The Daymakers are a masked band and Charlie (aka Dreamer) joins their tour after getting away from her POS ex-boyfriend to help *satisfy their needs* and prevent more salacious scandals with women. Charlies has a traumatic past and is a perfect example of a survivor. She's been through so much, but she is such a strong and independent woman that just wants an opportunity to make her life her own. The masked men piece is swoon worthy on its on, but the guys were also very enjoyable in their own ways. I loved the dynamic they had with each other and with Charlie. This is a complete standalone, which I really enjoyed. The storyline and plot had depth and felt completed in the singular book, which I think is hard to achieve. I listened to this on audio and binged it in a little over a day. I loved the bigger cast a narrators for the larger number of characters. I'll definitely be picking up another book from this author in the future.

I put off reading this because of the atrocious cover. But, it does match the insides. I'm not a big fan of rock band romances, but somehow, this worked for me. I had so much fun with the drama and ridiculousness. I think it's because the hurt/comfort and the consent were so good.

This chick, Charlotte/Charlie/Lottie/Toy/Dreamer, has SO MUCH TRAUMA. We enter the story with her getting beat absolutely ridiculously terribly by her boyfriend. She sees a moment to escape and ends up hiding with a rock band who ends up making an agreement for her to be their girlfriend.

Why did this work for me? It's crazy. So many manwhores in this book and the trauma porn... absolutely ridiculous. But, the men only go forward with her. There's no weird third act breakup or pushing her away.

Also, what is up with her ex-boyfriend being able to know so much about her and where she went? It really makes no sense.

This could have been 4 stars, but the last 25% were somewhat too long, boring and anticlimactic. Other than that, I loved the concept and the band. They felt real and I had a lot of fun to imagine how their stage outfits and masks looked like.

It looks like this one has kickstarted my interest back towards RH. So yay for that. This one was mostly sweet, with some shitty moments dealing with Tom and his abuse. I liked how protective Shep was. Hero and Poet were the best of the group. Knight was fun. Royal was mostly a dick but in the end had the most the growth and became the leader/boyfriend needed. The support from the rest of the road crew was great. I really liked Helen and Lottie's relationship. The moments with the little girl were both sweet and weird. Saw the unmasking coming, but I did like how Lottie got a big family and the end. Tom got off too easy. Enjoyed this one.

I absolutely LOVED this book.

I’ve been on a huge Sleep Token kick lately and this just fit right into that vibe.

All the boys were absolutely delightful and Charlotte was empathetic and vulnerable but badass when she needed to be. I enjoyed the way the author explored her journey and growth in between all the flirting and spice.

It had just enough stakes and emotional turmoil to be captivating without stressing me out before bed. I particularly enjoyed the inclusion of a found family element and the self discovery journey of Charlotte.

I have officially added this to my to buy list!

When I reach for RH books, I typically go in not expecting much beyond a whooooooole lotta smut.

And don't get me wrong--there's a lot of fucking going on in this. But it's actually not nearly as much as you'd expect. The PLOT of this holds its own. And it's really good.

The characters are also super great. Each of the 4 band members had their unique personalities and quirks. They each brought something new and necessary to the table when it came to interacting with Charlotte/Dreamer.

And I straight up wanna be Helen when I grow up.

I also enjoy that Charlotte/Dreamer holds her own with the guys, too. Going into this and knowing it was a bit of a prostitution scenario had me a bit squirmy. I didn't know if I was going to like that aspect, but McGinty does an admirable job of hyping up the respect while being honest about the fact that this chick's fucking a buncha dudes for money. She turns something that could be dark into an empowering moment, giving the control to Charlotte to decide what she wants to do at every turn.

I will say this book talks quite a bit about domestic abuse, violence, and psychopathic stalker behavior. Charlotte's got a VERY harried past and it takes her the whole book to escape it. There's a trigger warning in the front of the book, but I don't really think it was explicit enough--stuff that happens or has happened to Charlotte is mentioned with regular consistency throughout this entire story. And while most of it is revealed by Charlotte herself, some of it is made flippantly or in offhand comments that were somewhat jarring to me. So if this is something you're sensitive to, maybe read with caution. Because it's NOT just something you have to get through in the first few chapters, rather it's something that keeps getting brought up the entire way through.

Lastly, I don't love that Tom doesn't get justice. That he flees the country. I've read so many stories lately where the villain doesn't face justice at the end and I dunno if this is a new trend in fiction or what, but I hate it. I don't care if the FBI is on his tail. There's no closure and it's annoying.

Reader's Notes:

This was a solid 4 star read for me. And probably the only RH romance I wouldn't mind revisiting in the future.

Marshmallow rockstar whychoose was a delightful break from my reading slump.

Royal, Knight, Hero, Poet, and Shep are all likable guys, and even at his worst, most a-hole status, Royal really isn’t that bad. He’s cocky, and he needs to be challenged, but that’s about as bad as he gets. Knight has that puppy dog energy, so if you like the cinnamon roll with a little spice, he’s your guy. Shep stood out the least for me, but there’s nothing negative that jumps out about him.

I think my favorites were Hero and Poet, not that the other guys weren’t easy to love. A good mm relationship always sucks me in, and I loved the cozy vibes I got from the two of them.

McGinty does a good job of making it clear that a woman is the key to them fully committing to each other, so I think her take on their relationship is good “accessible” mm for people who want to make sure the woman isn’t second fiddle to the guys’ relationship. I just wish we got an extra spicy mfm scene!!!

The plot is simple, so it feels like it wraps up cleanly and doesn’t leave me needing more like a lot of other standalones. In this case, it’s the character development that left me wanting a sequel or just more time to spread their story out. I wanted to know more about the guys, and although I understand why Lottie can’t learn too much about them for a while, I wish the reader had gotten more snuck to them through the guys’ POVs so they felt a little more fleshed out.

This book had so much kink potential and completely let me down . Stop implying royal likes to be called a good boy and Work it into more scenes. having no Shep sex scene was crazy. the IMPLICATION of having shep spank royal and not writing it out was annoying. Honestly i enjoyed this to how far id usually enjoy a haram trope (which isnt a ton. having that many people want you seems like a hassle). They shouldve let shep kill tom though . This fell back into a lot of stereotypical haram tropes which made they guys kind of eh. And their Real Names were so jarring i had to take a step back. How do u have moss and curtis in the same sentence

It was pretty good compared to the last few books ive tried reading while in this funk. I'd rate it at 3.5 star it would of been a 4 if we got an epilogue way down the line and they had little Rockstar babies lol. Would of been a 5 if we got some group scenes with mm and if knight and royal would of explored the tension they had on stage. All in all it was good.

If you are a Sleep Token fan and also enjoy RH books, this is the book for you!!

It was so damn good, I love Sleep Token so when I got this rec, I knew I would have to drive right in.

The plot was fantastic, and had a good amount of spice, but not too much that I was skimming over it.

The way the guys cared for Dreamer and saw her for more than her past mad my heart so happy and full.

Look like a movie star. Play like an all star. Fuck like a pornstar
🎶

The Daymakers are the hottest alt-rock band to hit the scene since the nineties. With their enigmatic skull masks and stage names—Royal, Hero, Poet, and Knight (H)—fans can only fantasize about who’s really behind the masks. The band’s secretive identities have fueled their mystique and skyrocketed their fame. Enter Charlotte (h), a girl who’s as far from stardom as you can get. Her life has been defined by hardship—with nothing left to lose and nowhere to go, Charlotte’s life takes an unexpected turn when she finds herself hiding under a tour bus to escape her violent ex-boyfriend.

─── ・ 。゚☆: THOUGHTS*.☽ .*:☆゚. ───

Oh my gosh, I seriously loved every single thing about this book. If I were in her shoes, I would’ve signed that contract without even thinking twice. Honestly, they wouldn’t even need to pay me—I’d do it for free just for the experience. But in all seriousness, this book was everything I could possibly love in a "why choose" romance. The dynamic between the characters, the unexpected twists, and the whole setup was just perfect. It hit all the right notes for me and made me fall for the story even more. I couldn’t get enough.

[Royal]

“The Sex Toy,” Royal added, and I bristled.

“And you’re the manwhore who makes everyone’s life difficult. We’re both whores, but one of us is nobler than the other. Which one is it, do you think?”

Royal was definitely a standout character, even though he was kind of an asshole most of the time. He really made the book shine. That scene where Charlotte takes control and calls him a good boy? Oh my gosh, I was completely done for. The way he submitted to her and handed over the reins in that moment was just *chef’s kiss*. It was such a powerful shift, and the way he responded to her dominance was everything. I loved how their dynamic played out. The tension between them was electric, and they were constantly trying to one-up each other, which just made their interactions even more thrilling. It was clear Royal was totally thrown off by the fact that Charlotte didn’t fawn over him like the other girls did. Instead of backing off, it only made him want her more. That push-and-pull made their relationship so compelling and kept me hooked throughout.

[Poet]

Poet leaned into me. “I like her,” he whispered, amusement in his voice.

He liked it when people gave the others shit and didn’t just fall at their feet.

Poet is definitely the gentle soul of the group. He’s incredibly understanding and made it a point to ensure that she was completely comfortable with the agreement they all had before initiating anything. His sweetness really stood out—he’s always paying attention to her needs and is quick to notice if she’s feeling uncomfortable with something. It’s clear he’s there to support her, both emotionally and physically. His thoughtful nature and attentiveness made him a really endearing character, and his supportive presence added such a warm and reassuring vibe to the story.

[Hero]

“I don’t want to take advantage of some girl who has no other options,” Hero snapped, and Poet nodded his agreement.

Hero is super attentive and really takes care to check in with Poet before making any moves with Charlotte. Given that Poet and Charlotte have their own unique dynamic, Hero’s consideration and respect for that relationship really stand out. He’s genuinely interested in getting to know Charlotte better, and it’s clear he’s intrigued by her. The way Hero interacts with Charlotte while still honoring Poet’s relationship with her adds a lot of depth to their dynamic. It creates a nice balance and makes the interactions between Hero, Poet, and Charlotte flow seamlessly. The respect and communication among them make their arrangement work really well and keep the relationships feeling authentic and engaging.

[Knight]

“How many fingers am I holding up?”

She flipped him the bird. “One?”

Knight laughed, flopping down onto the couch. “Close enough. Can you see anything, pretty girl?”

Knight was a bit of a wildcard in the group. He got attached pretty early on, which had the other guys worried that it might mess up the dynamic. Unlike some of the others, Knight was really focused on getting to know Charlotte on a deeper level. He wasn’t just interested in what she could offer them; he wanted to understand her future aspirations and what she planned to do once the band contract ended. Knight was genuinely invested in her beyond the terms of their agreement. He took the time to learn about her career goals and her personal dreams, showing that he saw her as more than just someone to be with. His approach was all about bonding and building a real connection before diving into any intimacy. That thoughtful, caring attitude added a lot of depth to his character and made his relationship with Charlotte feel very genuine and meaningful.

[Shep]

“I should have killed the fucker.”

“You don’t even know him. Or me.”

“I don’t need to know anything about either of you to know that any man who does that to a woman doesn’t deserve to breathe precious oxygen.”

Shep was really the one who had a keen eye on Charlotte from the start. He was aware of her before the whole agreement came into play, and he made it a priority to be protective and ensure that she was genuinely on board with everything. He wasn’t just about going along with the contract; he was deeply concerned about her well-being and comfort. Shep was like a safety net for Charlotte. He constantly checked in to make sure she wasn’t just jumping into this situation because she needed the money. If she needed an exit strategy or an alternative, he was ready to support her. This opportunity allowed Charlotte to make her own decisions and have control over what she wanted to do with her body and her life. Shep’s supportive and caring nature made him an invaluable part of her journey, helping her navigate the complexities of the situation with a sense of autonomy and reassurance.

The ending was honestly perfect. It had this open-ended vibe that felt just right, giving us the sense that the characters are continuing to work on themselves and their relationships. Even though it wasn’t a neatly tied-up conclusion, it left us with the impression that they’re figuring things out and finding their own dynamics. I also loved how the revelation about protecting their identities added a beautiful layer to the story. It’s kind of poetic that by maintaining their anonymity, they’ve gained more freedom to be their true selves. It’s like they’re no longer confined by their public personas and can now embrace who they really are. The ending gave me a satisfying sense of closure while still leaving room for their stories to evolve in a way that feels hopeful and genuine.

4.25 HOT ✨

Audiobook read 5 ⭐️
The Audiobook has full narration done in duet style and it was so freaking hot. 🥵 I only wish I read it physically too so I could highlight so many things!!

I love this story, the characters, pretty much everything about it. I didn’t want to stop listening! It’s a fast paced spicy book but a slow burn of the romance. I can feel the ache, the slow build of the want & longing.
🔥🔥🔥

She’s their toy and you don’t have to wait too long for the spicy scenes to kick in! 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 The spice was so hot & had me blushing 🥵 seriously, I almost felt like I should’ve been arrested at the grocery store for listening to this while shopping 😂 No cringey words were used either so 👏🏼👏🏼 there’s ⚔️ which is always juicy

“Come for me like a good toy”

I love the little details, about the way they look, the small things they notice about each other, the nuances of each person and their personality

FMC is a survivor and I love her. She has had so much shit in life but continues to be kind & funny. She has moments where her life trauma catches up with her and she gets down but, she wasn’t a whiny character. Instead, she was headstrong and didn’t want to waste a moment more on her past. She is the definition of when life gives you lemons!

There are 5 MMCs, 2 are dating each other. Each felt like they actually had their own identity and I applaud the author for making them each standout.
👏🏼⚔️ Also, props for making the mm relationship so cohesive with the FMC, that there were no feelings of jealousy, & never did I feel like she was getting sidelined or wasn’t as important in their dynamic. She actually COMPLETED the dynamic.

Some things I made noted in that I ❤️‍🔥:

❤️‍🔥He talks her through a panic attack

❤️‍🔥Protective security guard that’s secretly pining

❤️‍🔥He crawls to her. “Tonight you want to be my toy isn’t that right?

😭Family trauma

❤️‍🔥Secret identities

❤️‍🔥Polyamorous relationship

❤️‍🔥Side character Helen is a GEM 💎

“I was going to live and love hard or die trying” 💕

The only reason this didn’t get 5 stars is bc I felt like the plot line could have wrapped up a little earlier & then given us more of them like after the fact…the ending felt a little rushed or like we were cut a little short. I feel like this could’ve gone on longer. It was a slow burn romance and then it kind of got sped up. Also i wanted like a big orgy scene 😅 I get that they have diff dynamics but I all the guys were very close, there were multiple scenes where one of the other guys would be watching, and scenes where she was hooking up with 2 at a time. But where’s the big WERE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER sex scene?! 😭
