Part two of The Keeper Saga continues the story of werewolves and Native Americans. We get further explanation of the history and culture of werewolf society, as well as a glimpse into the past through the eyes of new characters. There is just enough action to keep a reader engaged, but not so much that it becomes tiresome. There is a good balance here, even including some comic relief.

I love to hate a good villain, and Zue quickly became my favorite character. Her scenes are expertly written, and I enjoyed them very much. I appreciated the fact that, as a true creature of evil, all things in the forest opposed her, including the trees. My second favorite character would have to be Ella. Her story was the most emotionally gripping, and she was a powerful character.

There is so much imagination in this story. I was introduced to even more new creatures in addition to those I met in the first installment. I don't know if I've ever read about such creatures before, and they are quite interesting. Definitely a series I would recommend! I look forward to reading part three.

Five Bright Eyes Stars... Another awesome book in the Keeper Saga Series. Ms Thompson has again created a fantastic world with adventure, action, drama and suspense.. I love the characters ( both human and magical) and I was captivated with the myth and legend.. I also enjoyed the flashback chapters in this book ( going back to where it began). All I can say is.......... Read it!!

A wonderfully detailed and beautiful written, story that is a little emotional at times..

Well Done Ms Thompson on book that can be enjoyed by young and old alike.
No spoilers I would highly recommend reading it!! read all the books in The Keepers Saga..
Great for fans of Paranormal, mythology and adventure..

As hard as it is to imagine, I must say I believe Book Two is better than Book One of the Keeper Saga. Thompson has worked her magic to bring to life the questions that a reader would form reading Book One. Her ability to weave back and forth between two key characters from Book One was nothing short of magical. She held my attention. I'm so looking forward to Book Three. And, now I hear there is The Wolf, a prequel. Wonderful!

I really enjoyed this fast paced, full of magical creatures story! It's a fast read, and you can't put it down, eager to find out what's coming next. Very creative, well written and with lots of great imagery, it's a must read for those who love fantasy!

Biggest complaint: anti-climatic ending
Biggest praise: First 2/3rds was only slightly intriguing.

Second try led to a massive workout of eye rolling and head shaking. Not because of the flipping back and forth between time, but because of the stupid insta-love.
It started out fine. Tori, the new girl seemed to halfway have her head on straight. She was kind of rough in her own way and she seemed like she would be interesting. Her character seemed to be someone who wouldn't instantly fall for a guy because she was too smart and didn't really trust people...then she suddenly morphed into a wishy-washy, insta-love twit with no personality other than her combat boots at the end. Yeah. That's it. The only real personality in the book was killed off with starry-eyed hero worship.

That wasn't the only awkwardness in the story either. I didn't know point of view was from Brian, I would have thought we were back to Nikki. There really is no character switch from first book to the second. The writing style reads like the same character and, other than we see Nikki through his eyes, it wouldn't show much in the difference between male and female. I honestly felt like this was the same character from the first book, except it was supposed to be Brian, though he sounded nothing like the described character from book one. There was no meat. No depth to his personality, and you really, really need that when you switch characters like that in first person.

Moving on to the grammar. It really wasn't great. A lot of mistakes floating around in this one. Things like, sitting in the floor instead of on, and missing words. I've seen worse, but it really breaks the flow.

Spoilers* That ending was just plain awful! There is ll this build up and then...Boom! Adam is dead. Boom! Zue is captured. Then they kill her. It was too easy! Which made it seem as if the ending was sort of cobbled together just to finish the book and move on. There wasn't much thought to it. And then there is no explanation as to why Adam's eyes are silver? And the cliffhangar tacked onto the end was lame!*end of spoilers.

All in all, it's a lousy book and I have no desire to read the next in the series. I didn't think the first one was great, but I didn't think the second could get any worse. Snort* boy was I wrong.

For my clean readers:
Mild kissing, lots of violence, and little to no language.

I really liked this story, I actually think it was better than the first although I thought the story was going to be told from the point of view of Nikki and it was Brian instead, so that threw me for a loop. When the first excerpt was from Brian's point of view, I thought we were just getting a tidbit of information, but then Chapter 1 was from him too and I didn't realize it until a couple of paragraphs in.
I liked that we had more of a back story from the past so things came together better, but there are also more questions now like where are Wynter and Zue's other 2 sisters? What's Adam's fate? What happened to the other wolf? Where's the rest of Ella's brother's family, like the family tree? And so on.
The story was written well, albeit many grammatical errors, hence why I couldn't give it a 5. Also I feel if you want a 5 rating, the story has to be phenomenal, it was awesome but flawed.
I do however recommend.

Eleanor Brown and her family are traveling in the year 1765, looking for a new home, but the journey is cut short when they are attacked and she flees thinking all of them killed, by something or someone that she isn't sure is real. Lost and alone she is befriended by a lone wolf who leads her to and leaves her on the doorstep of an Indian village .
Her she grows, learns of the land, life and of magic that is around them. She finds love and then loses it when the fire witch attacks, this is the same creature that killed her family so long ago. Now in the present, Nikki, Adam and the Keepers must learn Eleanor's story and her tie to Nikki before this same creature the fire witch destroys them and their community. Will they destroy it or suffer the same fate as their ancestors did those any years ago?

This was a good book but would’ve liked more

This one wasn’t as good as the first book but it still kept my attention and I am thinking about getting the next one but am not sure yet.

I am quite disappointed that none of the links in the books (both 1 & 2) work. I can’t find the authors promised freebie nor can I locate them on Facebook... makes me wonder what’s going on there.

the story of the white wolf and the perspective of Brian made it confusing for me. had to adjust to two things in one book
this book is more on telling about white wolf? Brian perspective wasn't as captivating as Nikki's, could do with more side bits to bring more life to it.
just started on Wynter's war and glad its back to Nikki.

All the feels

I'm so glad Brian found happiness. And we have the white wolf now too. Plus Wynter is definitely a good guy, so yeah I'm stoked. Wonderfully written but I expected nothing less from K R Thompson. Can't wait to see what the next installment brings.

Hmm

The reason I gave his book a three was because I think it was too easy of a win. She was an all powerful spriteblood it should have taken more to kill her

Good read

I chose this rating because I liked the content and point of view. I only disliked the fact that there were some slight mistakes in spelling and grammar. But hey everyone is human and they are easy to look past.

I've been trying to figure out how to say something besides "eeeeeeeeeeeee I loved this book!" And yes that exclamation is that high-pitched girly squeal heard from fan-girls everywhere. I can officially say that I'm "fan-girl"-ing over K.R. Thompson.

The story is once again beautifully written. The author manages to make the magic, fantastical, and paranormal leap off of the pages of the book. This one focuses on Brian, who has discovered that he is a keeper more recently than the other five. We also meet Nikki's best-friend Tori, as well as boys from the Lakota tribe who you are never quite sure if they are friends or foes. But the main antagonist, Zue, is a major force to be reckoned with. I wouldn't want to meet her in a dark alley, that's for sure.

I love the descriptions of the magical characters in this book. We know Wynter from Hidden Moon, and are not surprised by her ethereal appearance. But how Zue, the "Fire Witch" is described blows Wynter's cool fierceness out of the water. I mean WOW.

I plot was one that we should have seen coming from the love that develops between Nikki and Adam in the first book. But with all of the twists and turns, bringing in both Nikki's family history, with the interweaving of Ella's story with Brians, and the history of the town when we learn about the St. Claire's, everything falls into place beautifully.

I think one of my favorite parts is that the Wolf figures more heavily in this story than he did in the first book. I truly love Swift Foot and him being in the story is a constant reminder of his love for Shining Star. ::sigh::

OH and the library...just saying that it's an awesome setting and I truly loved the whole scene in there.

While I was not overly impressed with the writing in the first Keeper Saga I did enjoy the plot. The problems that I had with "Once Upon a Haunted Moon" is the overuse of flashbacks and the absurdity of the plot with the introduction of the character, Tori.

In this installment, although Nikki and Adam are a couple they face a new threat. It seems that something has awakened the Fire Witch in the Deadlands and she is on a mission of revenge. Apparently she was captured and held in stasis for hundreds of years. She is now free and is seeking revenge on those who imprisoned her years ago.

As Nikki and Adam begin to unravel the mystery of the Fire Witch we are introduced to the story that led to her capture through flashbacks. To complicate matters, Adam is captured leaving Nikki frantically looking for him. Then, Nikki's best friend from her former school shows up unannounced and that's when the story goes awry. She acts like wolf shifters, woodsprites and witches are normal everyday occurrences and quite frankly it just doesn't make a lot of sense.

This was a moderately good read for me. I didn't love it, nor did I hate it. At this point, I am not sure that I will be going on with the other books in the series.

This ia a Y/A paranormal story that can NOT be read as a stand alone.

What a great continuation of the story. The only thing I missed was Nikki's pov. I was so used to her pov from book one that I kept confusing myself that it was Brian's pov instead of hers. I kept needing to go back and re read something to get it in my mind that it was Brian's instead.

I loved how we learned about Ellie/White Wolf. The going back and intertwining her story among this story was really well done and I really enjoyed it.

I really liked the storyline, the descriptions to details, the characters and their dialogue. It all flowed together nicely and made of an enjoyable read. I can not wait to read more. I understand why this was written in Brian's pov since he finds his love interest so I am going to take a guess that the other books when they are available will be in either Ed's, Erik's, etc. pov.

Would I recommend this book? Yes!! But read book .5 and 1 first.

Would I read more from this author? Absolutely.

During the second chapter, it was done through Brian's POV so I kept messing up because the previous book was done through Nikki's POV. I would say that that would be the only negative. But that was probably just a personal thing because overall, this was a great book. I have grown to really like this Author. This book also goes back in time to Ella's POV, she is known as 'White Wolf' her story and the present story eventually all tie together. In the first story when the Keepers went into the Deadlands to try and find the Trail Killer, ED get's bit by a tree, this story comes back into play in this book and you really learn who your true friends are and how you need to stick together to beat the Fire Witch. When Adam is taken, they have to rely on the Fire Witch's sister and hope she truly is on their side. I would say this is a must get series and I can't wait to read book three. Oh and this story has a slight cliff hanger. I want to know what the principle meant in the ending of this book!

Another awesome storyline by author K.R. Thompson. Once again we visit the keepers and continue from where we left off in book 1. This book is a little different as it is told from Brian's POV instead of Nikki's. In this segment we jump back and forth from the past to the present as we see how the original seer the white wolf came to be. Old evil seeks to destroy the keepers and they work to make sure history does not repeat itself. This is a fast paced gripping storyline sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. This time the Evil has a name and is not an unknown factor. Lots of suspense, mystery, romance and lots of fun. This is a great read for any age and I recommend this series to anyone who loves the blending of legends, mystery and things that go bump in the night.

Amazing amazing 2nd installment

Well what can I say about it..!! The book is very well written and quite fast paced. It's full of magic, action and sweet romance. This book is mostly narrated through Brian's point of view and Ella's (you need to read the book to find out who she is). Wynter is very strong, helpful in her own way and conflicted between family and greater good. There is a new character Tori who is also a very strong character.
Nikki is a sweet person in love and pining for Adam.
All in all a very good book with great heros and a strong villain.

There were a few things that confused me about this boo, starting off with the fact that I didn't always know who's POV in each chapter.
I felt like this one was better written than the first but I continued on reading the saga in hopes that it would be in Nikki's perspective by how the first book ended. It made me think that the next book would be in her POV. So I was really disappointed that it was in Brian's and a few other characters. Though now that I have finished it, I am glad that it was in his perspective because it gave me a better view of the Keepers perspectives.

Just keeps getting better

I am still captured by this author's ability to weave such an interesting story. Book 2 met my expectations an makes me determined to read book three. I suppose you could read this as a standalone book but would be so much better if you read book 1.
