If you haven't read a novel by Iesha Bree, you can expect to read about bold independent women and Smooth, Charming Men ready to mend broken hearts. Each novel penned to heal and show each woman they're worthy of love.
I am an Indie Author! So be on the lookout for that!! Cover Designer, and reader. I have been reading all types of books by many different authors for years and I just love the idea of love so I decided I should share what I dream and hope to have someday! I'm also a military brat, so I always have this itch to travel to a new place that's another one of my passions. I have a book club if you're interested in getting sneak peeks to my new books, as well as participate in deep book discussions, and my character introductions to new series! lookup
I was a bit surprised that this story did not snap, crackle and pop with energy. I liked the story, I just did not love it. The plot... Mean boss wants to sleep with his employee, and you know the rest. See what you think.
Baby Let me tell you, Iesha Bree doesn’t disappoint!!! We’re about to get a family full, but big Zeno!!! Sir he played no games. Ayesha came in and shook the table, and he ate it right up. I was here for the cellar, the closet, and the office!
Painfully boring. I found the characters lacking real emotion and personality. I also found this story to be lacking real angst or tension. The main character would frequently say cringey things regarding his love interest body and I just couldn’t like him. The overall flow is what made me not enjoy it; it felt like time was passing slow at times and at other times things were glossed over quickly. Overall not as enjoyable as I would have liked.
The marketing alone had me dive into the book. I will forever support Iesha! The work put behind her art is top tier.
I felt like I was on vacation watching the story between King and Ayasha unfold. King definitely gave us BDE and my girl Ayasha was not one to mess with.
There’s definitely spice and some plot twists i was not expecting. I can’t wait to see what the other siblings have in store for this series.
Zeno King is the oldest of four siblings and the CEO of his late father’s King’s Dynasty Resort & Vineyard. His siblings run their resorts, but because Zeno has taken over his father’s resort, he finds it difficult to change anything or to modernize the business. That is until Ayasha Black comes to town and challenges all Zeno’s traditions.
Ayasha Black moved to California to pursue her dream of being a sommelier, but after her last position threatens her future, she finds herself at King’s Resort. At first, she and Zeno bump heads, but the tension quickly turns into chemistry. But Ayasha would do anything to avoid repeating what happened at her last winery.
Listen, Zeno was down bad after the interview, baby; that man was trying to set Shorty up to fail so he could fire her and then bed her 😂 But he quickly realized he needed her in more ways than one.
I got why Ayasha was trying to keep their relationship between them at first, especially after her last experience, and Zeno, being a man, heard what he wanted to hear and got in his feelings. I was proud of him, tho, for pulling up on my girl when she needed him the most.
I’m trying to take a trip to the King Resorts this spring because the vibes are giving.
One more thing before I go… Iesha promo for this book 🤯🔥🔥 Yooo, it’s so genius!! She is the marketing queen!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 you did that shit, sis!
I had to force myself to finish Iesha Bree's King's Distraction and I always hate that when I'm reading a book. The characters are diverse and there's decent character development, but I just wasn't sold on the FMC, Ayasha, and the MMC, Zeno, was just a bit too "hood" for the role he had in the book, his interactions with the other characters, and his upbringing. While it is not a bad read, I did not enjoy it as much as I had expected.
Spice: 🥵 Final Rating: 3.25 out of 5 stars
Content Warnings: Moderate: Misogyny, Sexual content, Alcohol, and Cursing Minor: Fire/Fire injury, Death of parent, Medical content, and Grief
The story itself was a good read, parts of it felt like incomplete thoughts and some of timing was off in my opinion. The author definitely could benefit from having a great editor to help as well as test readers.
"Escape to Chateau Hills" and pour yourself into a story of legacy, love, and the lush backdrop of California's vineyards. Where tradition meets a fresh bouquet of change, Zeno King and Ayasha Black's tale is as intoxicating as the finest wine from King Dynasty Resorts & Vineyard. Zeno, the embodiment of tradition and tantalizing charm, navigates the delicate balance of honoring his father's legacy with the pressing need to innovate. Ayasha, with her vibrant dreams rooted in her heritage, brings a refreshing zest to the storied vineyards. Their clash is a dance of fiery passion and stubborn wills, an enthralling dynamic that ferments into a romance you can’t help but root for. The true spirit of the book lies in its rich setting—so vividly penned that it beckons you to explore the world of winemaking. Never have I felt such a pull to wander through rows of grapes and indulge in the art of tasting. The narrative flows smoothly, with no desire to skip or skim—only to savor each word until the satisfying end. The story of Zeno and Ayasha is a blend of complex characters and a plot with notes of suspense and sweetness. It's a vintage tale of overcoming obstacles and finding love where you least expect it—best enjoyed with a glass of your favorite wine.
I was initially listening to this on Audible and was enjoying it well enough. The fact that Ayasha had a track record of sleeping with her boss and was going down that road again was the first thing that threw me off about her. But, I continued on.
Zeno was not likable at all to me. I knew I wouldn't like him the moment he mentioned firing and sleeping with Ayasha. He didn't hire women because he had no self-control, not because they were distractions.
But clearly, Ayasha had no self-control either. Even though sleeping with her last boss left her homeless, she does the same thing again, throwing caution to the wind.
Their relationship seemed to develop very quickly, and it wasn't romantic at all. It just seemed like lust between a boss and an employee.
I didn't like Ayasha or Zeno by the middle of the book. Anna's switch to villain was not anticipated but very cliché. And the vineyard betrayal felt so random, including the reason behind it.
I unfortunately skipped through a lot of the last few chapters out of disappointment. I think there were so many ways a real romance could have blossomed between them. But that hope was squashed the moment they nearly kissed for the first time. She was too easy.

My first read by Iesha Bree and I enjoyed every minute of it! Came across her promotion of this series on social media and had to take this four day vacation and I’m so glad I did. Zeno is such a Taurus. Stubborn, loyal, loves hard and sexy as hell! It takes a special kind of person to capture the heart of a Taurus and Ayasha did just that. From the moment she stepped into his office he knew he was in trouble. Although she was attracted to him, Ayasha was determined to not let her hard work get in the way of her hormones and tried her best to deny what her heart desired. When she realized she couldn’t ignore the attraction the two of them had to each other she only agreed to have him in secret and a man like Zeno does nothing in secret! I am off to my next destination, Stellara Vista, CA!!! Adults only so leave dem kids at the house with they pappy!
This was my very first read from Iesha & I enjoyed it immensely!
Black people owning wineries? Black women as sommeliers?! Sign me TF up! Absolutely loved the family dynamics all throughout this book. As well as the fact that it features a FMC that is Black AND Indigenous. Yes, representation!!!
The story starts with Ayasha chasing her dreams of being a Sommelier and getting a new job at a top tier Black owned winery. There is lots of sexual tension between her and her new boss, Zeno but she tried her hardest to resist temptation because she lost her last job after having an affair with her superior which ended badly.
Zeno is the eldest of six children and feeling the pressure of trying to live up to his deceased father’s legacy at the winery. Ayasha is just the push he needs to evolve and take his family business to new heights.
You’re gonna love this one! I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!
3.5 - There was drama, “romance”, spice, and the banter was cute and funny. I really enjoy books that show case black wealthy families.
I understand Zeno with his dad. Some of kids want to hold on so much not realizing how things can be better. Also his ol fake grumpy self was cute because that man has a heart. Loved that we got a piece of everyone in the family and what they have going on before getting to their book.
Ayasha is a strong fmc with sas and flare. How she got to where she was is messed up but that didn’t stop her. However, she was upsetting me not knowing what she wanted. I understand you got to move right but if not ready then go heal. It’s okay.
Anna and Mateo surprised me. Didn’t see that coming at all. The ex and Wilson scream toxic. Throw them under the jail.
Set against the lush backdrop of Chateau Hills, California, King’s Distraction is a sizzling and suspenseful tale of legacy, love, and resilience. Zeno King, a steadfast CEO trying to honor his late father’s vision, finds his world upended by Ayasha Black, a spirited sommelier determined to prove her worth. Sparks fly as tradition collides with innovation, and their undeniable chemistry is as intoxicating as the wines they create.
Iesha Bree masterfully weaves romance and mystery, immersing readers in the high stakes of vineyard life. With threats of sabotage looming, Zeno and Ayasha must confront their fears and trust each other if they’re to protect the King legacy—and their hearts. A captivating blend of passion, intrigue, and ambition, this story will leave readers thirsty for more.
This was hella cute and sweet. Zeno and Ayasha were the perfect pairing. Zeno wasn't exactly grumpy for the heck of he, he felt he had something to prove with his fathers legacy and I understood the presure that he felt he was under but also the pressure that he put on himself. I know our FMC was the perfect balance for his life...cause she didn't except defeat and kept it pushing. I think that their chemistry was extremely organic and I loved how it progressed.
THOROUGHLY ENJOYED ASHA PUTTING ANNA IN HER PLACE CAUSE CHICK WAS ALL UP IN THE BUSINESS THAT DIDN'T PAY HER. I DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING WITH MATEO, SENETA WAS CRAZY.
I LOVED THE FAMILY MEET UP AND I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT IS POPPIN IN SARAI'S STORY
This novel is a delightful blend of forbidden love and heartfelt emotions, set against the backdrop of a bustling workplace.
The story revolves around a steamy secret romance that defies the norms of the workplace. It’s more than just a love story; it’s about finding solace and healing in the arms of another. The chemistry between the main characters is undeniable.
One of the most captivating aspects of the book is the shared love for wine and vineyards between the characters. It’s not just a setting; it’s a metaphor for growth, nurturing, and the beauty of coming together.
King’s Distraction is a celebration of love, family, and the journey of healing from grief. A highly recommended read for anyone who loves a good romance with a twist of workplace drama and a touch of viniculture
Like a cold glass of Reisling, Kings Distraction was delicious and smooth! I devoured this less than two days and will be coming back for more!
Zeno didn't mix business with pleasure until the day that Ayasha walked into his office for a sommelier position. She was his forbidden fruit that he couldn't help but sample. Unfortunately for him, she wanted to be left on the vine rather than picked. Ayasha's past experience with dating a man with power left her with a sour taste in her mouth. However she couldn't escape his will and he needed to allow her to focus on her skill.
In addition to the dynamics of their relationship, I found myself enjoying the sibling interactions equally. I have a good feeling about Sarai's resort and can't wait to see what Iesha has in store for Damian.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|🌶️🌶️🌶️.75 I was super excited about this book because the author’s promo alone was to tier for this release. She made a whole booking website mock up 😍🤯
This story was so good! I loved how the MMC had BDE! He didn’t play about the FMC Ayasha. The angst and banter in this story was so gooodddd! It was a little bit of a slow burn, but when the burn happened I was not disappointed. The spice was spicing 🥵.
The character development and surprise elements in the story were amazing! There were a few minor grammatical/spelling errors (less than 5 maybe), but it didn’t take away from the story itself.
Zeno didn’t do it for me. I feel like he was a little too angry and didn’t give the boss vibes that I wanted him to give. I understand not wanting to let his father’s legacy go to waste, but I would think that his father‘s legacy still living on with the resort.
Ayasha was wild in my eyes she had a thing for men with power over her. Granted I did love that she came in and showed Zeno ways that he could make more revenue for his resort.
I really gave this book at three because I could see the potential. Had we left out the girl messing with her last boss and then giving us more of a connection. I would have loved to see them actually date more.
It was entertaining enough that I wanted to see how it turned out but I admittedly had to make myself keep going. Respectfully, this could have benefited from a good editor, as there were mistakes throughout; that really sullied it for me. And some things that just didn't make sense to me (like taking the time for shower sex after getting such urgent news, or saying dude "could" lose his job after what he did...why wouldn't that be automatic?). And I skimmed over the sex scenes. It just didn't grab me like I thought it might, unfortunately.
I'm not sure if I'll continue with this series or not.
I enjoyed this read and I cannot wait to see what’s next. Zeno was a man with a plan—to hold on to his father’s legacy as tightly as he could. That was until Ayasha walked in challenging everything he thought he knew. It didn’t help that the attraction was mutual or that they were in a boss and employee situation. The sparks were just there. Saneta and Wilson were def coocoo—like please get a life. I can imagine we’ll be seeing Wilson again. I’m also side-eyeing Sarai a bit and definitely Kingsley’s husband because they were a little suspicions at the end.
Have you ever gone on vacation and and hated when it was it was time to leave? Like you wished you could figure out a way to stay just one more day... well that's how I felt about this book, I didn't want it to end. From start to finish there was never a dull moment. Mr. Zeno King is giving very much BDE and Ayasha Black is giving very much HBIC...I don't want to give too much away so I'm just going to leave it there... I can not wait to see what Zeno's siblings have in store for us 🤗
I liked both characters and I liked the overall story. I just wished the plot developed a little more. For instance their attraction to each other was obvious but it could’ve used a little bit more development because everything seemed rushed.
The big “fight” didn’t really develop. I’m not saying this so say the book wasn’t good because it was a good story but if a few extra moments were placed into the fight and development into the big issue that would’ve made the book better
This book felt longer than it actually was, thanks to the well-crafted backstories of the characters. Zeno and Ayasha lay a solid foundation for the King Dynasty series. As the eldest of the King siblings, Zeno is known for his intimidating demeanor, but Ayasha's arrival disrupts his world and the resort in a fascinating way. Her presence is a refreshing addition to Zeno’s life. This was an enthralling read, brimming with passion and chemistry between the two main characters. I'm eagerly anticipating what’s next for the rest of the family!
This was a super cute read. I loved the uniqueness of Ayasha’s career choice and how hard she went behind it. Zeno, Zeno, Zeno! Was a good man, a very good man! I love how direct he handled Ayasha. He knew what he wanted and played no games to get it. The reveal at the end threw me for a loop, one culprit was obvious, but the other was such a shame. Can’t wait to see how the rest of these series unfolds.
I can not wait for Sarai's book. I just know it's gon be crazy but a pleasurable one. *side grin* but I really loved Zeno and Asha's story. It shows you that you never know what you are going to get completely out of life until it drops into your lap or walks in your door. I cant wait to see them pop up in these next stories. And I just know Kinsley better leave that Andrew. Cause obviously he isnt for my girl!
This is my first Iesha Bree novel and will not be my last. I enjoyed the theme of mean boss, new enticing employee, jealous coworkers, and not taking NO for an answer. A few surprises here and there were good as well. I only wish this was a series where we also learned more about the siblings of King in different books with their own stories. They were interesting as well -- especially the sisters. Ayasha was no punk...kudos for writing strong characters that were determined.
Zeno!!!! He’s an outstanding dude! I had a feeling something was going to happen by the end of the book with him & Ayasha! I’m glad they didn’t have a rushed wedding at the end! I wander what Ms. Sarai is up to?!?! Kinsley’s husband seems like he is going to be a MAJOR problem! It’s more going on & I can’t wait for it to unfold…
I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. I loved the banter and chemistry between Zeno and Ayasha. I also enjoyed the siblings and can’t wait to get more from them. There were some issues with errors and timeline consistency and what felt like a rushed ending, but none of that took away from the strength of the storyline and my enjoyment of these characters.
Zeno did not see what was about to happen to him.. her name is Ayasha and boy was she a pistol. Someone is trying to destroy his vineyard and it's the last person I thought it could be, I had a feeling it was the ex but the other workers....Wow now they are having a baby and I can't wait for the next book
