It’s been almost six months since the EMP changed their lives, and the Jackpine community has begun to settle into some semblance of normality.
But when word comes from Deadwood that the town has been taken over by a group of murderous thugs, the group realizes that normality was just a false hope. Then a stranger from the town shows up and tells them about a huge stash of supplies there—all they have to do is get into town unnoticed, get the supplies, and get back out again.
Robyn VanDerSys was born in Washington State, which is where her love for the great outdoors was born. She has lived in several different states and has now settled in the Black Hills of South Dakota with her husband and kids.
Her life has consisted of one adventure to the next, including racing monster trucks in her early twenties, raising three strong children, riding around Mexico on her four wheeler while living out of a backpack, driving a school bus for a living, and volunteering on a chase team while her husband raced the Baja 1000.
She spends her free time off-roading and hiking the many trails of the Black Hills, and also enjoys traveling and having as many adventures as humanly possible.
Once again Robyn writes, not a page turner but a Page Burner. I picked it up and could not put it down. I reconnected with old friends from book 1 and got introduced to Pretty Colorful new Characters. In book 2. The first new character introduced is A Fire Cracker With a sharp Tongue, but I promise you will like her. I really enjoyed this story, the Characters stayed true to their nature and when faced with the choice of dealing with evil or staying safe they did what they do,they stepped up and kicked evils AZZZ!!! I really enjoyed this book as I have all of Robyns books and I'm sure you will too.
This is my 4th book from Robyn and it wasn't my favorite. I love her writing, so was sad she didn't choose to make the story longer and more involved in all the lives of most of the characters. I really hope she puts out a #3 Black Hills Fall. There is so much in The Hills that could be explored and written about and I was left wanting more!
Another hole in one hit! The folks in South Dakota’s Black Hills band together and get it done to keep them another’s safe! I just love the “fall” series of books.
I love all the Fallbooks and can not wait for the next! The tie ins to Cody are amazing and I can see some of the plot developing! I am from Cody! Live in Cheyenne now but spent most of my 70 years in FtCollins Co.
The first Black Hills Fall book was better and just had a lot more content. This book seemed like the writer just wanted the story to be over and thus it wasn’t as good as previous books.
