Quentin Robinson is in his second year in the NFL, and he has records to break and points to make. With his relationship on the rocks, Quentin starts to think that during such a pivotal point in his career, he should remain single. Doing a good deed puts him in the path of Melody Lane. A grieving single mother who only wants the best for her son. Quentin sees so much of his mother in Melody that he can’t help but offer to help her in any way that he knows how.
Life hasn’t been the same for Melody since she lost the love of her life. On top of grieving, her pre-teen son is starting to act out, and Melody is devastated. The last thing she wants is to lose her son to the streets. Will meeting her son’s idol help Melody, or will Quentin be more trouble than it’s worth?
This is the story of Quentin Robinson, Melody, and her son. Quentin plays for the NFL, is single with no children. Melody is a single mom raising her troubled preteen son by herself after the love of her life dies.
The son's storyline really drives the story. He's acting out and getting into serious trouble. Suspended from school, theft, stolen cars, weed, etc. He is also a talented football player and Quentin becomes his mentor. However, when he learns that Quentin and Melody are dating, he objects and begins acting out again where he gets into serious trouble with significant consequences.
The story was developing nicely then it suddenly ended. In the epilouge we find out how everything played out. The author just tells us what happens rather than letting us experience it on page. So I felt kinda cheated. All this build up and we don't get to experience how we got to happiness? Didn't like that.
I thought I knew this couple, but I see blanks with everything with them. The player leaves his girl after she acts like a brat. Then he starts to date a blogger \vlogger with a rebellious teenage son. Maybe this is just a second phase of teenagerhood. But lil man needed to see a real man about his behavior real quick. I couldn't focus too much as the story bounced between three storyline in this edition. I cannot tell anyone how to tell their story, but I wish I had more with the couple and their relationship, than the bad a kid. Melody and Quentin spent a lot of time apologizing to one another, instead of building a stronger relationship. Q did seem rather easy with the d slanging. And Melody second-guessed a lot, so maybe they were a perfect match. Shrugs....
After reading and enjoying Step daddy season 1, I was surprised that season 2 would be about Quentin. He and Melody gave an amazing story filled with love, heartache, heartbreak, and not being 100% sure of what they were doing or where they were headed. Together, they weathered the storm and got the happy ending they deserved. I was not expecting the major loss and it left me with my mouth hanging open. It goes to show that no matter how good you have it and no matter how much love surrounds you, addiction doesn't care. Will Qori be next and end his f-boy status?
This was an interesting of the series. I think the situation that occurred or heavy handled in a delicate way. No I think it would be very interesting to see Qori who doesn’t want children and a stepdaddy roll.
Hmmm, 🤔 🥴either I missed something or I just had greater expectations for this installment of “Stepdaddy Season 2”🥴! It was a mediocre read, with irrelevant subplots and storylines. More so, Quentin as noble guy as he provided philanthropic support to Nico and the other youths in their community. He was a better person and role model than Quentin the boyfriend and or “D” slayer on demand providing (or receiving 🤷🏾♀️) maintenance services. Granted he’s only twenty four, a professional athlete, a millionaire & days being a single man. Nonetheless, Quentin was too cavalier, reckless and emotionally detached for intimacy with any woman especially Melody. Thereafter, Melody was equally indecisive about a relationship/commitment. However, after two years, I wanted Melody to be more cautious especially around Quentin. Oh well, maybe the new family dynamics will mature for this couple.
I feel so bad for T. I hope she takes Quentin up on his offer and stay with him for a while to get herself back on her feet.
Nick is still a bum I see. Ugh.
Quentin didn’t do anything wrong, but I agree with Melody, if he’s into threesomes and just laying with a lot of women, then she should fall back on the physical side. I don’t get how Danielle is trying to discourage this and talking about excuses excuses. She wants her friend, after grieving her dead boyfriend of over a decade for the last two years, to catch feelings for an athlete who is newly single and wanting to sew his wild oats. I wouldn’t wish heart break on my bff. I’m glad she didn’t harp on it long after Melody pled her case. I know she’s looking out for her friend and don’t want her in a depressive funk so I still appreciate how Danielle looks our for Mel.
Qori had me disgusted with his statement of beating a woman for trying to trap him. Then he needs to be more selective about where he stick his thang. And just as scandalous he thinks theses women are to sleep with men for a come up, he s just as scandalous to be community peen.
Nico is out of control. I hope he gets it together soon and don’t get lost in a life not meant for him.
Oh no. Not T 💔😢
I was rooting for Houston to beat that boy within an inch of his life and get off for temp insanity.
Tempers we’re running high due to all the emotions. I’m glad Melody reached out and didn’t over react again.
Damn Trips??? That’s wild. I’d cry too.
I loved taking the journey of Quentin in adulthood. He was actually a really great and mature young man. I liked Melody’s character as well. Nico wanteded his head cracked half the book. Glad he did a 180. I want Qori and Omi’s stories as well. T will always be remembered.
It was good to catch up with Cypher and Houston, all the kids are grown and living their own lives. Quentin was on his second year in the league and was trying to secure himself as one of the greats. Zatima was doing to much, it’s definitely okay to grieve but she was lashing out at Q and blaming him was not fair. Q choose his peace over being miserable. Melody was just going through the motions and trying to be there for her son the best she could. Nico was hurt and angry about his father’s passing, he just didn’t know how to direct his feelings. Melody wasn’t sure if she wanted to get back out there but Quentin applied a lil pressure and was always honest with her. Her excuses were driving me up the wall but I’m glad that she finally let go and accepted her new happiness. It broke my heart with Terrionna and she didn’t want help. Bryshere was trash and he did her so dirty. The family was broken but the triplets brought new life for them and that was beautiful ❤️ Great job as always Natisha !!
Yessss! Houston and Cypher did their thing raising those kids! Qori still in the field but I'm sure he will come around soon enough. Grief is really something serious and I think no matter what people say, it can hit hard at any given moment. Zatima was a hot mess! She done fumbled the ball with Quentin and then wanted to pop up on some snake ish! Yes, what she went through was hard but if you keep pushing your partner away, I don't know what she thought would happen. Thankful for Danielle playing matchmaker, Melody found a way to cope with her own grief. Dang, I wanted to whoop Nico's butt so bad! I get it! He's grieving the loss of his dad and all teens go through that rebel stage but Lord, he was more than a handful! I loved how Quentin loved on Melody. While he saw his mom in Melody, he still looked at her as her own person out there making it happen for her and Nico. I was glad they stopped fighting their feelings and gave in to what their hearts knew what was the inevitable. Triplets, oh my! An instant family and I'm here for it all! Great read!
Enjoyed this series. It never fails that when one parent fails to be there for their children and someone else steps in and out raising them only to want to come back around once those same kids they disowned start to come up; Houston came into the boys lives right on time and they became great men, it just so happened that Quentin was following in his step dad foot steps and being the man that Nick needed after the death of his father. Nick was dealing with the lost of his dad the best way he knew how by acting up even though he had a good support system something was missing and he just didn't know how to express himself in a positive way, so happy things fell right especially after the death of one of Quetin's sisters, drugs can come in and tear a family apart all you can do is just try to be there don't push them because they won't seek help until they are ready to.
Melody is a single mother who lost of the love of her life. Her son Nico is acting out. She is at her wits end. Quentin has just got out of a relationship because his girlfriend lost their baby. They met at football camp where Quentin is mentoring Nico. Daniella and Calvin are her best friends Omi didn't like Terrionna boyfriend with good reason. The whole family is down bad over Terrionna death. Now, Zatima wants Quentin back after she ignored him and gave him the cold shoulder. She saw him with Melody and got jealous. Nico learned his lesson at wilderness camp. Melody and Quentin has triplets. Melody got a good support system. Quentin brought a house for his family. I'm looking forward to reading about Omi and her boyfriend. When Qori she has to be strong enough to deal with him.
Barely got to see any love connection or relationship growth between this couple. I felt like majority of the story was about the struggles of the FMC's son and the MMC's family struggles. And I understand grief is a complicated situation but the FMC was so stuck in the past and finding every excuse to not move on & continue living life, it was annoying and frustrating. On top of that, our MMC slept with someone other than the FMC more than once which was such a turn off. I didn't like it. I had to finish the book since I started it. Plus, I actually liked the other books related to this one. But unfortunately, it fell short. Could have been much better in my opinion.
Natisha, I love this series. It's only one more left so please give Qori a story cause he swears he not gonna be a stepdaddy. Quentin, showed me how he watched Houston and how he respected and loved his mom. Melody , had suffered a drastic loss and she just wanted to be left alone until she realized she couldn't be the best mom, without taking care of herself. Nico, was going through his own rebellion and he just needed to see if he didn't start acting right he wouldn't have a life. I love how Quentin loved himself and had enough love to show Melody it's alright to take a chance. Watching him love on Nico and Melody was great🤗 but watching them grow together was wonderful🤗🤗🤗.
This book was really good! I enjoyed the characters and the overall story, but Melody worked my nerves a bit with all her back and forth. I get that she was grieving the loss of her first love, but she let that grief take over and acted childish at times.
Quentin was truly that man—solid and patient. I do wish he had set stronger boundaries with Fatima, but I’m glad he didn’t fall into her trap. Houston losing another loved one was heartbreaking, but he still stood strong and raised two amazing sons.
I was happy to see Melody finally get her happy ending. Now I need a story about Qouri falling in love—and one for Omi too! Honestly, this could’ve been a whole series. A great read from start to finish!

This book was really good I enjoyed the characters but Melody got on my nerves going back and forth being indecisive I understood that she was grieving the loss of her first love but she was laying grief rule her life and being through your childish at times. Quentin was truly the man. He needed to put his foot down more with Fatima but I'm glad he didn't fall for a trap. I hate it that Houston lost another person in his family we're all in all he was a good man and he raised two Great sons glad Melody got her happy ending. Now we need a story about Qouri finally falling in ove. Also Omi and her love story. This should of been a entire series. Great read
This is my second book by Natisha and this is my second book I read/listen to. This is a standalone but can be read as a series to get all the feels I required reading book 1 first. I couldn’t wait to read this book to see Quentin’s journey and wasn’t disappointed one bit, raised by a single mom that he seen go hard and make sure him and his twin never went without when he runs into Melody she reminds him of her. Melody is single mom of a teenager that’s acting out from the grief of losing his dad. I enjoyed their story the cameo’s from characters in book 1 and please check trigger warnings.
Melody was holding on But I understand grief But eventually you have to live finding love especially when you're not looking for it!!!!
Quentin I felt his feelings when it came to Zatima like you ended the relationship when you left and you blame him to do the love changed...
But to see Them together Melody was blocking for awhile I'm glad when she finally opened up more to Q see that he was real... Nico need eye opener to change his life around..
Triplets didn't see that coming kinda figured when started to get sick she was pregnant...
Yeahhh. This series is weird. I'm not really feeling the characters/relationships. Melody was all over the place and she and Quentin were pretty much 'not in a relationship' for 90% of the book. If I had to see Melody convince herself that she shouldn't be jealous because Quentin was single one more time! Like, what are we doing?? Just pushing Quentin away one minute and sending gift baskets the next. Sigh. Also, I know you can't help a drug addict that doesn't want to be helped, but literally none of the family did anything to help Terrionna other than call her. I was amazed at everyone sitting around going, I mean what can we do? Umm, do more than just call!
I enjoyed seeing the kids grow up. It’s amazing how having a stepdad step up helped impact them. Grief had its influence on the characters in a realistic way. It made me think about the saying everyone is battling something. Melody was sweet and deserving of a good love to move on to! I wanted to yoke Nico up myself. Quentin see,s like he’d be a really good father figure, mentor, and of course football player. His nonchalant attitude is a relationship killer though.
I enjoyed broke story. A second chance at love for Melody is what she needs d and Quentin was the man for her. I love how they came about, Quentin took on the responsibility of being a mentor for Melody son! Loss is hard in any form, whether its a first love, parent or sibling, everyone grieves differently! Houston and Cypher did good by rainy all of their kids. It was good seeing them all mature and going through adult life, though one of them didn't make it, as parents they did all that they could for her. I loved the epilogue!
The second book picks up right where the first one left off, and honestly, it’s even wilder. Natisha turned the heat up on the drama and the secrets, and I loved every bit of it. Some characters really showed their true colors this time, and it had me mad one minute and laughing the next. The romance still had its spicy, complicated vibe, but you could tell the stakes were higher, and the consequences hit harder. It gave me the closure I needed while still leaving that “dang, I can’t believe that happened” feeling at the end.
I enjoyed Quentin and Melody's journey. Quentin showed just how much being raised by a single mother shaped him as a man. I also like how having Houston in his life was a blueprint on how to handle dating a mother with a child and interacting with the child as well. This book was filled with so much tragedy and grief it shows you that a person grieving and how they grieve are different. I loved it and I hope Qori gets a book as well.
I love the influence that Quentin had on Nico. Even though he was an NFL star he was so down to earth, and it was easy to talk to him. His parents raised him right. Nick still can't buy a clue 🙄 Poor Terriona I was not expecting her to grow up and change like that. Quentin's ex was very trifling. She fumbled that bag & it got picked up! I can't wait for someone to snatch Qori's playa card.
This is a wonderful book. I enjoyed book one, and now book two is just as good. It was nice to see that Quentin is becoming a successful football player and falling in love. Melody is a loving mother and dealing with a terrible loss, and she is trying to get back out there. It was nice to catch up with the family. This book definitely had me in my feelings some highs some lows. This book is definitely worth the read it's so good. Great job 🥰.
Melody had gone through extreme grieving, as well as dealing with an obnoxious son. She was at her wits end. Meeting Quentin at her son's football camp was fate. Although Quentin was fresh out of a relationship, he knew he wanted Melody. They went through ups and downs, but eventually got on track. Dealing with family issues kept having problems, but they survived. Their love outweighed everything else. Great read!
Omg this story here was very emotional 😢 for me. I loved it 😭 Quentin loved his family when he met melody 💙 ❤️ she reminded him of his mom and his siblings 💙 the way this family come together during a difficult time I just went through similar situation 💙 I cried shout laugh reading his beautiful story Amazing outstanding 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 I'm new reader to author Natisha Raynor you are brilliant! Loved it loved it😍😍
What a wonderful ending to a series that brought so many ppl together to form a family that was not built on blood, but tied together with a deep love, trust, and loyalty!!!... The loss of their sister definitely me in my heart, especially after the way they lost their mother!!!...
I absolutely loved this book. I was so sad that Terriona passed away. Omi have really matured she was such an angry kid but she definitely changed. Houston is sill the man. Nick was still a dead beat father. How you gone get mad because you abandoned your children.
Thanks again for giving us another banger this series is a great story and shine light on ppl who date ppl with kids cause we all know how it can be with some ppl putting their partners before their kids but you did that for that my hats off to you girl why you gave her three babies lol
