Loved best by ages 2 to 4. Abby is a new baby in the family, and Abby tells you about her life from her point of view as a baby. With vivid pictures and simple melodic poetry, you can experience baby Abby's heart warming perspective about her relationship with her older brother, too. Older brother can do so many more things than baby Abby! But clearly, they are a family and they love each other. This is a wonderful book for a family with two or more small children, or a family with one child and a baby on the way. Also a good gift for anyone named “Abby” or “Aidan.”
My three year old grandson has a brand new sister so this book was especially geared towards them. He really liked that about it. The first time I read it I didn't use the names used in the book to see what he would say. He associated the baby as his sister and was excited to be the big brother. He laughed SO hard when the diaper part was read. Lol. The things happening in the story are all things he has experienced with his sister, even the sheep :) I went to read the next book but he had knocked it down behind the couch - my bad. Now he is upset because we can't get it yet ;) He loves the bookmark and says he wants all the books depicted on it. I think we have a winner! Thanks Billie!
I received this book from the author as a special treat after being selected as the winner in the Goodreads First Reads Giveaways for "There's a Froggie on my Doggie!" All opinions are my own (and Chace's) and we are thrilled to have a new selection of books to read by this author.
I think this is a pretty great book for young boys (there appears to be a different book with a big sister) expecting a new sibling. I read this to my 3yr old and he loved it (we read it twice this evening) His little sister is 1 1/2 so not a baby anymore, but he still likes babies. This book is told from the babies POV and is pretty accurate. I only wish the children in the story didn't have names. I would prefer Abby to be called baby and Aiden's name could just be left out. I think it would make it more personal for the young children this book is geared toward. I changed it a little while I was reading, but since I believe my son is approaching reading readiness I'm hesitant to make too many changes. Overall it's a good book for pre school age kids.
