I barely got through this book... There are large plot holes that made me not want to read after the first few chapters. Spoilers ahead for those who don't want to find out the things I thought made this book a 2-star.

First of all, the female main character could have made the pitch to her boss for any other company and it would have worked better. The "matchmaking" was not the best business to play this out with. I thought the whole point of a matchmaking service was to let the algorithm decide who you matched with... Yet she agrees to test it out with her boss because she wants to not because her algorithm said they would be a match...

Second, in chapter nine she thinks her past will "taint" her character in front of her love interest... A hacker kid who has a past of lying and stealing is afraid that her boss, who is a murderer will not respect her anymore because she once upon a time hacked and did bad things... It's the same as thinking a pathological liar would be appalled by his girl lying once... It makes no sense. It's a stupid reason for not telling him someone is threatening her... again any other reason would be better even her doing it because she is stubborn and wants to fix it herself.

Third, and this is a small one, but her pleading for her life because Ghost was her friend even if they just met for the job in the beginning and didn't know each other before... again makes no sense. It would have been better if an unknown enemy showed up.

Overall, the writing and the idea of the book were good, but the plot holes I mentioned made the majority of the book not make sense. I know it's smut and we're all here for the filthy scenes, but make a little effort, please to iron out your plot holes before releasing a book. I am giving it 2 stars instead of one because the writing style was good, but other than that the plot holes ruined it for me.

You can't tell me that this book was not written completely or partially by ChatGPT.

Everything was repetitive. We got the same sentences in different versions over and over and over again.

I can't believe it apart of the Savage Bloodline Series 😬 The series is too good to be so disrespected with this nonsense.

It's fine to use AI to help plot your books, and to help write specific scenes, but it is necessary to edit those scenes to make them flow better.

The formatting was all over the place, which is yet another way to tell if the author used AI. The story didn't flow at all, it just moved from one place to another without any transition. One minute they're in the office and the next they are miraculously at a jazz bar.

Like damn, could we at least have them drive there, take a taxi, or even walk. All of a sudden we're in Star Trek traveling via teleportation to places or something.

Now, don't get me wrong, I don't see anything wrong with using AI for a wee bit of help here and there because AI's not going anywhere. But, the least a person can do is add their own little "razzle dazzle" to the story so it's more believable.

I firmly believe that a prompt was put into ChatGPT to ask it to create a chapter where the characters had a specific trait and such and such happens. Then the author took that information and placed it in the book.

Don't believe me? Look up THE CHATGPT ROMANCE AUTHOR: How to Overcome Procrastination, Skyrocket Productivity and Write Captivating Romance Fiction using ChatGPT here on Goodreads to see for yourself.

Alessio DeLuca, be still my beating heart!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I've read many books from this author. And once again, she did not disappoint. She ATE and left NO crumbs!!

There's 3 things you do not do when it comes to the DeLuca Savages. Number 1 don't mess with their women. Number 2, don't mess with their food, drink, and cigars. And number 3,DO NOT mess with their money. So when a hacker genius named Maty decided to hack and the funds of Alessio DeLuca, she made her first and last mistake. Or did she? Like Penelope with the BAU on Criminal Minds, when you see an opportunity, you better grab it. And that's what Alessio did.

When I tell you this book had me in a virtual chokehold, I am not lying. The chemistry, flirtation, and misbehaving activities between Maty and Alessio were sexy af. Now add a side of someone's trying to come for Maty, and you've a full-on DeLuca Savages I'm gonna get mine and end you drama. And I'm so glad I was here for it! Imani Jay delivered and kept it moving. And that epilogue? Loved it! I hope we get to read more of Alessio and Maty DeLuca in future books. This book was most definitely well worth the wait.

Whole Series just became my favorite ❤️

Oh one of the days where the weather is bad and the power goes out that’s when I will tell myself let’s see what good book you want to read over again. Then I will pull out this story and re-read it. Maty was a bada$$ on the computer that was a great storyline for her. I love doing work on the computer, it was things that I did that I had to train others to do. Then Maty meeting another bada$$ but worst in Alessio her mate or what I like to say her ride or die. Then it is better then a mushy love story because it gangster love 💕

Good Read

I enjoyed this book although it lacked some of the DeLuca flare to me it was still a good read. I really liked Maty. You would have never thought that her and her boss had been wanting each other for years. They met by her trying to hack into his accounts only to be caught and her team disposed of and she offered a job. Everything wasn't all peaches and cream. With past endeavors coming back for revenge and other enemies lurking they had to fight for their happiness. A battle won well.💖💖

five long years

these two listed after each other for five long years before either of them would make a move. and two kisses later, they were hot and heavy. admitting their feelings and needing to be together. needing each other like their last breath. it was sexy. this Deluca man willing to lay down his life for her and his family was absolutely sexy.
also loved how she tied her dating app into the story, book boyfriends. I loved that series also.

The Capo and the Nerd

From the beginning, I loved Maty's personality. She was fierce, confident, and determined. She had a plan to go up against the DeLucas until she met Alessio.
Their undeniable chemistry was explosive when they first met, but it took them 5 years before they finally acted upon it. And, baby, when they did, it was explosive.
Another great book. Enjoy.

Entertaining!

I liked this book. However, I wish there was more emphasis on the action rather than the romance. There were snippets of action that revved up my interest, but the story could have easily been expanded to heighten the action (e.g., Maty's hacking skills or pursuit of the abductors).

Wonderful ⭐️ ⭐️

Maty She's extremely smart. She's also walking the earth alone. That's until she makes one mistake that leads her into the arms of Alessio Deluca. Once again, the Savage Bloodline of the Deluca's family strikes again. This series is fabulous, and the authors of each book are extremely talented. I truly enjoy reading about this family.

Intense love

People look for love or believe they will not find it. For these two it was about existing, surviving, doing what was needed to stay alive.
When they finally cone together, their love is intense and focused. This is a great part of the series. It is complete. No wondering happens with them.

Maty and Alessio don't start off on the best of terms but Maty is made a offer she can not afford to refuse. Their 5 year dance begins until Maty suggests a a business venture for Alessio to consider and test out. And test out they do. Another Great DeLuca Read.

Alessio

Survival of the fittest is what describes Maty…

Running an empire with no mishaps and continued growth is Alessio’s vision…

Always monitoring encrypted data is what started Alessio’s and Maty’s journey…

Can potential theft eradicate feelings or catapult desires…

Wanted More

I’ve been enjoying the Deluca series but this one is lacking. It just didn’t bring the action like the others. It wasn’t bad but it took me some time to finish because it wasn’t as interesting.

Cute

This is a cute book. I wish there was more steam and longing on both sides but it wasn’t too rushed or too cliche. Just the mill of the run plot. But the villain was someone she knew and not him and it wasn’t anything sexual about his issues with FMC so that’s cool.

quick quick slow slow -pace of the book.

After a fast start became very very slow with nothing really happening until about 60% in. Was then over rather quickly and we had what has to be the longest ending ever. Although was enjoyable.

Age gap/ mafia/ boss/employee/ touch her and die/ insta-love/ mutual pining/ HEA

Trigger warning: death of a loved one/ violence/ kidnapping/ murder/ gun use

This was an ok mafia romance. It was fairly short and there was some suspense but it felt a little bland

I enjoyed the book for the most part. I wanted to give it 5 stars but there was a lot of repetition within the last few chapters, and that knocked me out of the fictional dream.

The heat between these two... Off the freaking charts! I'm so happy Maty found a family with Less. She is the girl you root for and Alessio is the man you wish for.
