Yanagi-sensei's story was so heart wrenching ;-; I can kind of understand his aunt's thinking and her guilt but she was still the adult and it was her responsibility to be a good mother to Yanagi and Otoha, the two of them were just innocent children so I can't really forgive her treatment of them. The story was very emotional in different ways than the main Kiraide Isasete, and it's really lovely to see more of the dynamic and developing relationship between Yanagi-sensei and Asanagi-sensei.
The extra connection of Otoha being Yanagi's adopted brother as well as Naoki's mother's neighbor was a really cool tie-in. Especially with Otoha's conversation with Tsuchiya in Vol. 6, where he mentioned how he only learned to be good with kids from how his older brother cared for him, and talked about how he's proud of him for being a teacher now, it all ties together!!!
This series makes me happy (*´︶`*)

This is a really great read because the characters aren't stereotypical; they're layered and multifaceted which gives the romance real chemistry and depth. Instead of being a bunch of tropes wrapped in a trench coat, this is a unique love story based on two 'real' people. Especially in an omegaverse setting where the alpha x omega dynamic tends to overpower any other characterisation, Yanagi and Asanaga stand out as kind, caring people.
I especially love that Asanaga is so head over heels but he's trying to be patient so that Yanagi can take his time and overcome his traumas; but he's more than just a foil for Yanagi's growth. He has his own growing to do, and Yanagi helps him do it. They're the textbook definition of good for each other.
Overall, very sweet and satisfying. I like this more than the original story that it's spinning off from.
