A good romance story. But for me, that's all it was. Between the main characters, I didn't really feel that chemistry that was supposed to be there. Rebecca, our loving, crazy, psycho ex, was a good character. You could feel her obsession with Gabe, which was good in the story's intentions. Considering it's not a slow burn and it's a short book, it still felt like it took a while for Amy and Gabe to officially get together, and then the ending just seemed a little too easy. Adding a plot twist in there at the end, in my opinion, would have made it better. As usual, that's not to say the book isn't good, and that you shouldn't read it. It just wasn't all that me.
Never Tear Us Apart by Iris T Cannon is a new one for me fillled with lots of mystery, questions and a love no one saw coming. Now there is more to this for someone doesn't want them together and will not stop until Amy is gone. Took a while but we finally see Gabe's real history and yet Amy seemed kind of not all there for me. Amy seemed a little out of it throughout the book not strongly built character wise. It seemed like Amy was fighting all the way herself instead of figuring out what she really wants with Gabe and Tatum. Then we have Gabe, seemed like a real potential yet felt the chemistry between them wasn't all there like the other characters, Jack and Olivia. In all purposes Gabe's feelings are real but seemed like it was being forced. He still had a lot to deal with his past and that took a while to really put all the puzzle together. You see him as an artist but not really all there with his career just seemed more telling instead of delving into his character. One thing for sure Iris T. Cannon definitely created a real villain in this book and actually seeing what Gabe went through felt like there should have been more about it. Now the love scenes of course was all there but felt needed more between them than just sex. All in all it was okay but could have been more written and scripted better it seemed real fast paced between the characters.
"I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own."
I received a review copy of this book, I believe it has potential but for me, it was difficult to finish. I have not read the previous book in the series but there are a lot of review sections so you can still keep up with characters from the previous book. There were a lot of editorial issues but one specific chapter switched up the character names which was confusing until it switched back halfway through. The story is interesting with a flawed MC that has to grow through the story however she did not resonate with me. If you like the previous book, you will probably want to read this to keep going with the world and characters.
Never Tear Us Apart falls into the dark romance genre. The reader will also find mystery and suspense in this book. The author uses erotic language to grab the reader's attention to describe the lusting relationship between Amy and Gabe. The book is written from both of their POV's. Amy and Gabe have irresistible passion that fuels the majority of this book. This will give you a kind of Fifty Shades of Grey feel while reading it. Overall, this is a good book and I think readers will enjoy it. However, there is editing errors throughout. It was lacking substance in the fact that the relationship was mostly based on sex. I would have liked to read more about Amy and Gabe building a committed relationship. Iris T Cannon, did a great job building suspense towards the end of the novel as Gabe's ex, Rebecca makes her crazed appearance. Thank you for allowing me to read your ebook. #goodreads giveaways
I have been waiting for Amy and Gabe's story since they appeared in 'When You Are Mine', and I'm so, so happy it's finally here 🙌🏻
I'm not sure if there are enough words to explain it but Iris has literally outdone herself with this book! I literally ate up every word and devoured the story in a little over a day! Nothing like a bit of suspense and the many twists and turns throughout the book to keep you on your toes!
Amy and Gabe ❤️ From their first encounter, I was seriously crushing hard on Gabe. I loved how he was so persistent with getting to know Amy, and haunting her usual coffee house just to see her. Amy, who is still hung up over her ex, tries to keep Gabe at arm's length, but of course Gabe being Gabe, he absolutely bulldozes through them walls of hers.
Other than their steamy chemistry sizzling off the pages, Gabe was soooo sweet and patient towards Amy... Moving heaven and earth just to make her smile. I also loved the fact we also got to see more of Olivia and Jack, which I thought were pivotal in the story (couple goals right there again) and Eunice is not to be missed - especially the scene where she trips and "faints" 🤭
Seriously though, the suspense and drama during the later half of the book.... 😱😱🫣🫣 Iris sure kept me guessing who was causing all the havoc and man.... Were they totally unhinged! I'm so glad they got their comeuppance in the end so Amy and Gabe could finally start their HEA 🥰😍❤️
I can't wait to see what else Iris has in store for us as she is surely becoming one of my favourite one-click authors for me 🙌🏻 whatever she writes, I'll be there to read it! ❤️.

My first thoughts were that this must be a very young adult author because of some of the character descriptions. The more I read, the more I had a nagging feeling of dissonance as the story is set in New York, but the grammar and terminology was distinctly British without any understanding of how the characters all ended up in a borough in NYC, I guess that's why it's so frustrating to me when books in a series rely on the rest of the series and do not stand alone. This bothered me for the rest of the story. It just felt odd. The sex scenes were the same way. Each felt like it was written outside the characters and the story. Especially the last. I get it, but it felt misplaced. Like sex for sex's sake. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't so much that I stopped reading, it was a good story line, just felt it could have been more cohesive. And I really wish there was more character developement. (Again, a problem with books in a series that do not stand alone) I think I was expecting something different than it was from the trigger warning.
I recieved this book as part of a givaway and was not otherwise compensated for this review.
Another fun short from this author. Amy and Gabe seem perfect for each other, but she's still getting over an ex and he has some major baggage in his past. When they finally give their relationship a chance, it seems the past isn't willing to let go.
Queue some exciting suspense, a lot of drama interspersed with very steamy love scenes and an HEA, this is the perfect book for a winters afternoon by the fire.
I thoroughly enjoyed following these two through their ups and downs, my only wish was that there was more time for their characters to develop with more detail. Unless you've read book 1, you don't know what Amy does or much about her as a person and you only really start to connect with the characters about half way through.
Never tear us apart is a fast-paced romance. Gabe and Amy meet when she spills her coffee on him. They go on one date that is not supposed to lead to anything. But fate has other plans. Both come with baggage from previous relationships, that threatens their relationship together. Amy and Gabe make a wonderful couple, and they have an instant connection, that leads to some spicy scenes. I would definitely recommend this book, but if you want to understand Amy as a character reading the first book helps (though this is designed to be a standalone and the story makes since without reading the first book).
I always loved Amy as a character from the 1st book and now even more. She is witty and smart and loves her little family of friends.
Gabe, now here is a man who knows what he wants and intends to get it no matter what. He does everything he can to get Amy, even when he has to back off and let her come to him in her own time.
What was not expected of this book was the carnage and violence that followed them and was totally a surprise to me. Normally, you can see things coming from a mile away, but this book surprised me.
I highly recommend this book and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Just when I thought the first book was good, this one was brilliant. I loved that the characters from the first book have carried on in this one and that this involved characters that have already been introduced to us. Gabe is another strong male who stakes a claim when fate leads him to Amy. I really can't wait to read more of her books.

I just loved Amy and Gabriel romance story❤💓🔥! So much chemistry chili pepper🌶hot🔥😉! Wow on the crazy Gabe ex that girl was bat crazy! Her parents as well. It was great to know that Jack and Olivia love is strong. Let's talk about about Martin the coffee shop guy he was awesome! Such a phenomenal book! I loved it❤🔥💓! The series I highly recommend because the books are absolutely amazing!!!!!!❤❤👏🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
From the minute I started this book, I was completely captivated in the lives of its characters and the unpredictable journey they embark on. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a GREAT book!
I couldn’t help but giggle about Amy and Gabe’s clumsy moment. I completely felt it to the core. This is a Dual POV book. I love how she is interested in Gabe in the beginning but knows she is not ready for a relationship. Yet she is willing to continue to talk to him, even with his persistence. Amy is my type of lady. Coffee is her drug just like it is mine. Gabe seems so head over heels in the beginning. He is so head over heels that he literally surprises himself. He cannot control the way he feels and is reacting to her. This story does move quickly, it is steamy, and written well. I noticed the format is a little off depending on which app I am using. Speechify format looks really funky but yet again to me that’s not a big deal being I am listening and not reading. I really dislike Tatum. I loved the HEA.
