The gentleman, the hot mess, and a little British adventure…
Raine
Moving to London is scary and daunting, but I desperately need this job–and a redo. Okay, so I may have oversold my qualifications. That shouldn’t be a big deal, though. I mean, being an assistant’s assistant seems easy enough, and I’m a fast learner.
Hold up!
I’m already in over my head with spreadsheets, new pronunciations, and temperamental appliances. And just as I’m mentally preparing to face going home early, the big boss offers me an opportunity I can’t refuse. And I definitely should because Graham Horsham is an infuriating, complicated grumpy bear with a razor-sharp tongue, a wickedly dry sense of humor, and…I like him far too much.
Graham
I’ve been bamboozled. I’m not quite sure how I ended up with an assistant who spills coffee daily, wears wrinkled shirts, and chatters nonstop. He can’t stay, but I don’t want him to go and that’s madness. The Horsham Group is closing one of our biggest deals ever and I won’t jeopardize it. This one is personal.
Yet so is Raine.
He’s a breath of fresh air—silly, impetuous, lighthearted, good-natured, and…quite lovely. I like him more than I want to admit. For some reason, I can let my guard down with him. It’s unnerving and probably unprofessional.
But not to worry…I will not, under any circumstances, fall for Raine.
Falling for Raine is an MM, age-gap romance featuring a British silver fox, a desperate but adorable American, and a UK adventure!
Lane Hayes loves a good romance! She’s the bestselling author of the Out in College, Starting From, Better Than, A Kind Of, Right and Wrong, and Leaning Into Series! Lane loves red wine, chocolate and travel (in no particular order). All things she can find in sunny SoCal where she lives with her amazing husband in a not quite empty nest.
Falling For Raine is a stand alone, MM, age gap (fourteen years) romance by Lane Hayes. I am so madly in love with this book. I smiled and swooned so much. I’m beginning to think that this will be my reaction to just about anything this author writes.
Raine Edwards is thirty two years old and is ready to get out of Los Angeles. He wants a blank canvas so to speak. So with a little help from a slightly enhanced resume, he is hired on to The Horsham Group as an assistant to the assistant, in London. Yes, he is moving to a new country to start fresh. Raine is just about the sunniest person I have ever read about. People meet him and they are instantly his best friends. They are just drawn to him.
Graham Horsham is forty six years old and is the owner and CEO of Horsham Group! He built this company from the ground up to the success it is today. Now they are right in the middle of an acquisition that is the biggest they have ever done. It’s an acquisition that they’ve been working on for over a year and a half but they just can’t seem to work out the final details. Add in the fact that Graham and the owner of the company they are trying to take over have a bad history. As a result, the entire office is feeling the stress of the deal.
There’s something special in the connection between Raine and Graham. But life has taught Graham that nothing lasts. He doesn’t believe in love. Spending more than one night with anyone is something he never does, until Raine. He just can’t seem to get enough of him. Graham is the ultimate grumpy, workaholic, man who people generally fear. Raine is all optimism. All he has to do is start up a conversation with just about anyone and they are his friend. What happens when you put these two opposites together? You’d think it would be self destructive but no. They seem to compliment each other, Raine is the sunshine to Graham’s cloudy days.
I wish I could think of one particular thing I loved most out of this book, but honestly, I loved the whole thing so much. I loved how everyone just seemed to fall in love with Raine as soon as they meet him. I loved watching the effect he had on our grumpy Graham. Most of all, I just adored them together.
This was such a sweet, sexy, fun, swoony, wonderful book. Once I started, I didn’t want to put it down. I knew as soon as I heard about it months before it was released that it was going to be a book I’d need in my life and I was right! Don’t miss this one!
This was an absolute delight. Nothing new in terms of the plot, the same old boss-assistant romance. But still so different, I had a blast. I loved Graham's grumpiness, I loved Raine's sunshine, I loved the Britishness ... And loved the sexiness.
Graham tapped my entrance, massaging the puckered hole in a wicked tease that made me sweat. No kidding. The pressure hinted at intense pleasure, and I wanted to beg for it. I wanted to fall sideways onto the seat and pull him over me. I wanted him inside me, fucking me senseless. Yes, that was an extreme reaction, but there was something about him that turned me on like nothing had in ages. 🤤🤤🤤
And I loved the romance that almost isn't a romance. So completely without romanticism, but so wonderfully perfect in the end.
“You waltzed into my life, turned it tits up, and I don’t know how to be…without you. I don’t care about deals, stock, dividends, or monstrous houses in the hinterlands. I don’t care about getting even. All I want is you, Ray-n.” 😍😍😍
Raine truly is such an adorable and amazing character. Love him so much together with Graham.
4.5***** stars
I HAD A BLAST. I freaking loved every second of this book.
It features two of my favorite tropes with a Vegas meet-cute that led to a hookup-with-a-stranger which unexpectedly morphed into a boss/employee romance in the busy corporate world of London with a side-dish of Cornwall countryside.
Falling for Raine was easy. Everyone did. But to know him, cherish him, love him and be loved by him was a gift beyond measure.
This was sexy and swoony and our clumsy mc, Raine made everything even more adorable. Highly recommended for a good reading time. I don’t think you’ll regret picking this up. ♡
I’ll begin by saying this wasn’t quite the story I was expecting from the synopsis, but, thankfully, I still enjoyed myself despite the unexpectedness of it all.
This was less a slow-burn office romance between a boss-man and his new employee, and more a story about serendipity and second-chances at love, between a May-December, polar opposites pairing, who find themselves unexpectedly connecting in the workplace (briefly), after a very steamy one-night-stand encounter, as strangers, in Vegas.
The steam in this story came hard and fast, with younger American Raine hooking up with slightly older, distinguished British bear Graham, while both passing through Vegas for work. Their connection is pretty immediate and their sexual chemistry was off the charts, but one night is all either expect, before going their separate ways.
Soon after, Raine shows up for his new job in London, for which he’s underqualified for but desperate to succeed at in order to make money and be able to stay on his emotionally necessary adventure in England. It’s immediately clear that this is not the work for him, made especially apparent when he meets the big boss man himself—none other than his steamy Vegas hookup Graham.
The attraction is still there, instant and incendiary, but Graham doesn’t do relationships (work always come first) and Raine refuses to get involved with another employer (which is his biggest reason for his move abroad in the first place).
A bit of no-strings-attached, temporary bedroom shenanigans are too hard to pass up though—especially after it’s agreed that Raine is better suited to his academic research talents and he shouldn’t continue working at Graham’s very serious, very business-first company.
As these things so often go, hot sex leads to feelings and feelings develop into love, made particularly complicated by Graham’s “it can never be more” anti-love attitude, which slowly crumbles piece-by-piece with every passing moment he spends with curious-minded, heart-on-his-sleeve, made-of-literal-sunshine Raine.
I really, really liked Raine as a character, enjoying his research-driven, world-curious way. I loved how he made friends with everyone he met, regardless of gender or station in life. He was a very warm and lovely character, and it was especially fun watching him grow into his confidence and professional talents, as he got to do more of what he loved (research/learning/experiencing) as the story progressed. It was truly a satisfying reading experience mostly for getting to see Raine find his place in the world, not just in the happiness he found with Graham, which of course was a bonus.
Graham, on the other hand, was a bit harder for me to love. A likeable love match for Raine, sure, but I can’t say I loved his character by the end, in the way I was hoping to. Although he never treated Raine with anything but attentiveness, respect, and deep desire, I felt he came across as, perhaps, a bit too cold and professional at times. This was especially clear in the fact he was still talking to Raine about how love wasn’t real and it wouldn’t ever be for him as far into the story as the 80% mark, which made his turn-around in attitude, less than 10% later, feel quite rushed and sort of out of character for me.
Still, Raine and Graham’s tasty little M/M story was very sweet and nicely sexy, proving extremely easy to read at a quick, engaging pace, and all the more enjoyable for all the English galavanting we got to vicariously experience through Raine’s lovely, eager eyes.
I’ll definitely be back for more in this travel-inspired series.
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas ... unless it follows you to London.
Solid 4 stars: age gap; sunshine/grumpy bear; Brit/American; office romance (sort of); dual POV; HEA worthy of Jane Austen (with a side of va va voom).
I enjoyed this book immensely, but I expected the plot related to the abandoned estate to go somewhere.
Sadly, it didn't.
What was the point of Raine's research? Why was Graham stalling on closing the deal? I've no idea. It made little sense, tbh, but I put my blinders on and went with it.
The romance itself was a lot of fun - sizzling chemistry, solid relationship and character development, a short separation that forced Graham to confront his feelings.
I felt like I knew these men and was rooting for them all the way.
I noticed a few typos, unusual for Lane Hayes, but they didn't detract from the story.
Falling for Raine was a really fun read. Raine and Graham had some great chemistry and the spicy scenes were top notch (there's a scene early on in the backseat of a car will let you know what you're in for).
It has the 'Introduction by Hookup' trope, which I haven't read that much of before but it was really well done here. Raine hooks up with a British stranger while in Vegas before his move to London for a new job. Then lo and behold, his new boss is said hook up le gasp.
Raine and Graham were great together. I loved how they grew together and learned about the others past. They start out as no strings, but of course that doesn't last long.
Joel Leslie narrates the audiobook and does an amazing job as usual!
Wholesome grumpy/sunshine age-gap romance set in London (and Vegas. And Cornwall.)
How unexpectedly sweet was this? Maybe you have to be a fan of all things British to truly appreciate the details, but I adored everything about this book.
On one hand, we have Raine: he’s the sunshine, he’s a bit chaotic, a bit naive, with a good heart - and he’s accepted a job he’s not really qualified for: as an assistant to an assistant in a huge, London based finance company. He’s not stupid by any means, but he’s an historian, used to work in academic circles, so he’s out of his depth. Why accept the job then? Trust me, it kind of makes sense when you get to know him 😜
And then there’s Graham, boss of said finance firm. Graham and Raine hook up in Vegas, not knowing that they’ll soon meet again in London. Yes I know, it’s not realistic, but we’re reading a romance, not a real-life-biography of some kind. And in those, coincidences like that not only make sense, they’re what we want to read about, right?
Annnywayyyy…
They meet again, and it’s… wholesome. Cute. Not in a “American sunshine pops in and the posh stuffy Brits see the errors of their posh stuffy ways and emulate the American way of life because that’s soooo much better”-way. It’s Raine himself who’s… adorable, for the lack of a better term. And while it takes Graham a bit to admit to himself that he needs Raine to have sunshine in his life (see what I did there? 😂), it’s just lovely to see them together, and fall in love with each other.
Here are some quotes from Graham’s pov:
His smile radiated from him like sunbeams and I was a sun-starved translucent creature, adjusting to the light. Or a vampire with a shot at becoming human again. … Somehow he was the significant detail. He was a piece to a puzzle I’d been working on for decades. He was the link to a murky past and hopeful future. He was a beginning and an end and he was… mine. … “Hmm.” I pulled off my jacket and tie and draped them over a chair in the lobby, then rolled up my sleeves. “That’s the spirit. Go have a walk to clear your mind. Enjoy the sunshine, sir.” “Thank you, but… I’m going to look for Raine..”
Not perfect, because some of the side plots were a bit all over the place, but still a highly enjoyable read!
This book would make a perfect RomCom film as it follows both men when they muddle their way into a relationship without realising they're doing so after it transpires Graham is Raine's new boss at a job he's totally unqualified for.
Raine is like sunshine blasting open the gloomy world of Graham and his stuffy business life when their paths cross once again following a hot and steamy one night stand in the City of Sin.
He's headed to England to try and start over with his life, having been badly burned by his last relationship. Graham's never really let go of the tight control he's developed to be able to deal with conflicted feelings about his roots.
Graham's repressed so much that he's determined not to let Raine affect his life. Of course, we all know how the best opposites attract romances go, so that doesn't last long!
We get to see first a boy, then a young man, through these glimpses, one who was ashamed of being gay, who was frightened of what the outcome of people knowing his sexuality might have, whose father died thinking he was straight.
The more comfortable Graham feels around Raine, the more he slips back into his own accent, little snippets of his life growing up in Sunderland are revealed and we find out why he's so determined to finalise the takeover of Mint and Chip, as Raine calls the firm he's in negotiations for.
We also get a wonderful trip around Cornwall, visiting some of the most well known places, as Raine investigates why there's a dodgy old historical house included in the terms of the takeover bid.
There's lots of humour, loads of scorching hot sex, but also a lot of letting down walls and realising that you don't have to let your past define you.
#ARC kindly received from the author via GRR Tours. I am voluntarily leaving a review
The business side was vague on purpose I guess, but it didn’t make much sense and I kept getting distracted trying to understand everything. But maybe that’s a me problem, being an accounting professor. 🤷♀️
”I was puzzled by my attraction to him. Raine was peculiar and quirky. In the light of day, he was impishly, cute—not sexy, mysterious, or darkly handsome. In short, he wasn’t my type at all. I liked order. I liked cleanliness. I didn’t like messes of any sort, which should have made cutting ties extraordinarily easy. Raine was vertically challenged, rumpled, untidy, and that shirt was definitely stained. He was right. He had to go.”
This was beyond cuuute! The story was the tried and true “blundering American assistant has a one night stand with a suave British business tycoon who turns out to be his boss” trope. The plot was nothing new but it was still hilarious, cute and sweet. Raine was such an endearing character and he had me in stitches a couple of times. I liked how his relationship developed with Graham and they had some pretty steamy scenes.
I adored the heck out of this book! I love the books Lane Hayes has set in England. I think you can tell she loves the country and enjoyed her visits there. She captures the romantic parts of England so beautifully.
Raine does seem much younger than his age but I think it’s because he is so positive and likable. He doesn’t seem to appear touched by the bad parts of life yet even if he has had his heart broken and is now relocating to another country. He loves to talk and socialize and he thinks he can use those skills plus a good work ethic to learn his new job, which he is totally not qualified for. He may have lied a bit on his resume….
He meets Graham but doesn’t know he’s the head of the new company he’s going to work for and the sparks are flying immediately. Graham sounded so sexy, a bear of a man who took control without being overbearing. I loved their dynamic from that first meeting.
This book was simple, there was nothing new about it but it was written so well that it just flew by and I had so much fun with it. I don’t have fun reading books lately. This was what I needed and it’s now one of my favorite Lane Hayes books.
ARC received for review All thoughts and opinions are my own
I want to applaud Lane Hayes for, in such a short book, delivering so much emotion, fluff, and hotness! I love when an author delivers exactly what was promised, and this is a perfect example!
Oh boy, how not to fall in love with Raine and Graham? Impossible!
*Age gap *My one-night stand turned out to be my boss. *Sassy bottom who needs to be handled with rough sweetness “ good boy” *Size difference *British accent shenanigans: “ jerk = wanker” / You’re bloody beautiful 🤩 *Insecure talker/snob grumpy *Funny the difference in terms English vs American *hotness overload *lots of history details and random curiosities *Jane Austen vibes
So we have Grumpy, uptight Graham and easy-going, free, sunshine, always chatting Raine. Raine brings the light out of people; it is impossible not to be cheerful around him. He is like a curious, overexcited Labrador. All this wrapped up in a bundle of taking a chance with a new country, a new job, a "not-relationship,” and finally love! Both have lots of insecurities that shape their approach to life!
“What in the hell was going on? It was as though I’d entered an alternative universe. Everything looked the same, but it was different. Of course it was Raine.”
There’s zero angst, just two people working from their traumas and to each other's arms, slowly, denying love for as long as they can. But when it finally happens 🫶🥹😘
“You make everything sweeter, brighter, lighter. I’m a better man when I’m with you, and there’s no point in fighting it. I might not believe in fairy tales, romance, or fate, but I believe in us.” “Me too,” he whispered. “I love you, Ray-n. I love you with all my heart. And if you give me a chance to—” Raine tugged at my wrist and pulled me onto the sofa with him, wrapping himself around me. “I love you, too. I love you.” I sank into his embrace, loving the smell and feel of him.”
It’s simple, no mystery, just pure fluff love. ❤️ The ILY was well fought for and totally deserved!
I think this book was just good enough but I just couldn’t love it. There’s not much plot and very little angst, but I couldn’t get past the fact that Raine somehow got a work permit for the UK without any issues after his job fell through. As someone who has had to deal with a lot of paperwork in my current/new country, I can’t overlook that his immigration situation is never a cause for concern for him nor is he being suddenly without a job and yet strolling around and visiting museums. 🤷🏻♀️
This was lovely, Raine and Graham are so good together, there was chemistry, the age gap was hot, plot was actually very interesting, I laughed, swooned and even got emotional. Read this if you want a fluffy, zero angst and cute romance story with fun and interesting characters.
This is a tough one to review because I adore this author.
The book was perfectly fine, offering a blend of cute, humorous, romantic, and steamy elements within the context of a boss/employee romance, featuring opposites attract and an age gap. However, despite enjoying the author's writing style, I gave it three stars because I've noticed a pattern in her recent books, making them feel somewhat predictable and formulaic to me. This observation might be unique to my reading experience, though. Maybe it's because I've read so many of her books?
Strong start, but it fell a little flat for me from the halfway mark.
While the characters seem likeable, they soon become a little one dimensional.
And I also grew annoyed at the misspellings to highlight Graham's accent - especially changing Raine's name to Ray-n. It could have worked, but not when it's done as much as here.
Quick, predictable read. The British primer stuff was way overdone -- Raine acted like he'd never heard a Britishism in his life and the constant "OMG I finally learned that lift = elevator" stuff was annoying. No depth, and nothing that hasn't been done a million time before, but enjoyable enough for what it was.
2.5 stars rounded up. May lower my rating after my feelings settle.
I didn’t enjoy this book until about 80% in and by the time I got there I was so exasperated, I couldn’t fully appreciate that last 20%. I didn’t find either character particularly likable and the plot was boring and predictable. Finally time to let this author live on the very full shelf I think.
Really?!! 7% in and I'm flabbergasted. It's 2024! Are we really still yucking someone elses yum? Really?. I tried to read on but I just can't. So DNF at 10%.
An addictive listen with a great mix of grumpy/sunshine, steam, and a slow burn romance - I'm calling it a slow burn because it takes Graham a while to get there with his feelings.
So sweet that his name is Raine, but Graham refers to him to his sunshine, or similar things along the way.
Joel is great at accents, though quite often Graham seemed to veer off into Welsh to my ear, which is fine. I love that accent.
I adored Raine with his endearing charm, ability to make friends anywhere, and just a touch of klutzy behavior. He was brave and sweet, able to see his flaws, but never gave up on what he wanted.
The brief epilogue was lovely and if the author wanted to return to this world, I wouldn't mind Sanjay's story!
falling for raine was easy. everyone did. but to know him, cherish him, love him and be loved by him was a gift beyond measure.

the same old story but set in the uk. an english grumpy ceo and an american sunshine hired to be an assistant to his assistant and a fourteen years age gap.
graham horsham, a 46 year old multibillion pound company’s ceo. a grumpy bear as raine later call him. he is in the bar looking for nothing much when a boy with a sunny smile and words that does not stop, graham cannot help but keep listening.
raine edwards, a 32 year old moving to london for a job where his friend might have over exaggerated his cv and his skills. he is by no means ready for the job but how hard can it be right?
before going to london, while in vegas, he meets a man in bar and they hook up. it should have been that and that only.
he goes to the job and quickly realises he has fucked up. he didn’t just sign up to deliver coffees and get print outs but to actually become a ceo’s assistant.
it only goes downhill from there for him. suddenly, raine fins himself face to face with a man he had thought he would never see again. he had just slept with his boss!
graham and raine realises that it is not an ideal situation. raine had not only lied on his cv but also seen his boss naked. he is fully ready to be escorted by the security but then graham brings him out for dinner, lets him move to another branch if he likes.
raine leaves and graham realises that he cannot let him walk away and simply just cannot stop thinking about him. he comes to raine with a proposal. research a building for him and they go back to what happened at the bar and continue it with a new set of rules.
graham thought it would be all physical and nothing else but as he spends more and more time with rajne, he knows he is just lying to himself. raine is everything. so much more then he deserves.
”but this felt different. this was raine. somehow he was the significant detail. he was a piece to a puzzle i’d been working on for decades. he was the link to a murky past and hopeful future. he was a beginning and an end and he was…mine.”
and every single second that he spends with him is so lovely and precious that graham does not know what to do. raine is adorable, messy and everything that graham is not. and maybe that is why graham gravitates towards him. wants him, needs him.
graham finds that the same places he has lived in for years become different with raine in them. livelier and happier.
but when the main business deal that had made them meet goes wrong, graham pushes raine away. it hurts him but he knows he has to. it is his inner self that he cannot convince to be with raine.
”what i’m saying is…i can’t do this, raine. you and me. i want to. god, i want to, but i’m not able to be…with you. not the way you deserve.”
raine physically hurts after graham tells him to leave. he knows it is not that graham is not attracted to him but more of his own inner inhibitions that he is not ready to fight. so he leaves.
graham on the other side, feels like there is a gaping hole in his like with raine gone.
all i could think about was raine and the look on his face when he walked out my door. you’re a good man, g. the best. was i? no, and i was bloody miserable without him. my bed was too big, too empty. my house was too quiet. the toothbrush i’d given him taunted me every morning and every night. why isn’t he here? what kind of idiot sends someone like that away? a hopeless one.
could i congratulate him without adding “i miss you like mad and i can’t fucking cope”? i wasn’t brave enough to test it, so i put my phone down and prayed the hole in my chest would close.
and finally, graham comes to his senses and goes to find raine and confesses to him.
”everything. fucking everything.” i paced to the door and back again. “you waltzed into my life, turned it tits up, and i don’t know how to be…without you. i don’t care about deals, stock, dividends, or monstrous houses in the hinterlands. i don’t care about getting even. all i want is you, ray-n.”
“you, me…us. when i told you i didn’t need anyone and that i was happy to be alone, i was totally and absolutely full of shit. i need you, ray-n, and i want to be with you.”
overall, it is a decent read. nothing wow, the old plot as i said but you will fall in love with raine. he is an adorable mess and i loved him so fucking much.
4.5 stars. Over too quickly, lots of lovely together time with a sunny, funny, charming MC and a wealthy grump. Great story, well balanced with equal parts of business, slice of life daily scenes, romance and spice. Excellent writing and dialogue, this just flowed, I looked down and was at 60% in a flash and wishing for more pages. The spice is so great, a bit dirty but not OTT, I really liked how this author wrote those scenes. Minimal angst, very pleasant read. Loved this take on a sunshine MC, more grounded and charming and not so sassy or bratty.
Contemporary, London, American in UK, m/m, wealthy character, sunshine/grump, age gap, boss/employee.
Opposites attract romance with a good amount of comedy mixed in. Raine & Graham meet in Vegas at a not so nice off stripe bar and connect to have a perfect one night stand. What neither realize Graham is now Raines new boss in a new country! Graham fights his feelings the whole way with man misteps that lead to a fun comedy along the way. I would have rated higher, but I don't believe Graham did enough to make up for his mistake while hurting Raine. I understand he was protecting himself, yet he should have done more to apologize.
There are books that caught your attention and your heart from the start. The story is romantic and simple but so sweet and that gives you only good vibes. So I adored the main characters and really everything.
While I find it hard to believe that someone wouldn’t google the billionaire owner of the company they have moved from LA to London to work for, and therefore don’t realise their Vegas one night stand is their new boss until after they arrive in the UK for work, ‘Falling for Raine’ for rain was undeniably charming.
Graham is supremely busy and has little time for relationships but he’s not the typical austere business so easily found in CEO/employee romances. Raine is a 30-something hot mess. He had a friend totally pad his resume to help him find a job, but he had no idea the job was miles above what he was qualified for and did not handle the high pressure environment well.
The storyline with Julia felt like it was building to something and I was braced for a big reveal and then it all just fizzled out into nothing which left me a little confused. But even with all of that I still found this to have a very fun romcom feel to it for sure with a good use of the following tropes: fish out of water, CEO/employee, age gap, opposites attract. A fun, fast read.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
So… where to start with this? Firstly I absolutely loved this and this review will be nothing but praise and a demand for more! I’ve read a few books by Lane Hayes (more than I realized actually) but this is by far my favourite.
I’d seen this book on social media for a few weeks (mostly on the authors profile) and, after reading the blurb I was desperate to get my hands on a copy of this. Thinking I’d have to wait for release day I was beyond ecstatic when I received an ARC on my kindle (I’m not even joking, I did a little dance🕺 ). As soon as it was downloaded I jumped straight in to it (even paused the book I was already reading and I never do that) so my expectations were high…. And they deserved to be.
Falling for Raine is an ideal read for me. There’s romance, fluff, very low angst and 2 of the most amazing MCs. There’s also some smut in there (not the amount I usually go for, I’m a sucker for the smut, but enough to keep me very happy).
I won’t repeat what’s on the blurb and I wont post more actual details (spoilers after all) but what I will say is Raine and Graham (G) start strong. There’s no denial of attraction, no fighting it etc., they want each other so they have each other. It’s all very ‘mutual FWB’ to start with. But of course, this wouldn’t be a romance novel without a few feelings slipping in, without either of them noticing obviously, and boom…. You have your story.
It's fun and funny (2 different things IMO), it’s light, happy, hopeful, romantic, spicy and, honestly, it made me smile throughout – that’s the low angst for you.
If you enjoyed books like Red, White & Royal BlueLegally YoursThe Hot Mess Prince then this is right up your street (there’s no royalty in the book but the writing style, plot lines etc are along the same kind of lines).
I'm 100% keeping this on my kindle, probably forever, as I know this will turn in to my comfort read when I need it ❤️.
P.S. read this in a day then was absolutely gutted I'd finished it 😢 It's one of the very few books I've read that I'd give anything to read again for the first time so I'll say it again. I LOVED IT!! ❤️❤️
I received a copy of this ARC from GRR and this is my honest review
