The Thing Is

Matt has been in love with James, his best friend since forever, for ages. He never brought himself to make a confession, however, and now James is back in their small town with his girlfriend. Matt likes Charlotte well enough and it's clear James loves her, so Matt's little crush should be dealt with and forgotten. He tries, he really does, until Charlotte starts flirting with him and James seems to want this, want Matt. The thing is, Matt hasn't had much luck in life before, but it might be changing now, will he let it?

I wanted to like this more than I did. I clicked over to read it because I liked the author's tumblr (although by now I've forgotten who they are). And, because I wanted to get something out of the Kindle lending library. But I just didn't.
