Such a powerful book with characters that are flawed. Characterization is even more on point and the tragedies resonate. The characters feel very real.

In this exciting sequel to Tube Riders, Marta and the rest of the gang escape to France. But the Huntsmen do not give up that easily and a crack team is sent to follow them. And there is another problem. There was another survivor from the destruction that ended the first book - one more dangerous than all the others because for this survivor the vengeance is personal . . .
Chris Ward is an impressive writer. He has everything for me. His use of language is masterful, his plots are intriguing and unpredictable. He knows how to build tension and he doesn’t pull his punches. If anyone ever deserved to be a best seller he does.
Buy it. You won’t be disappointed.

After reading the first book of Tube Riders in A Taste of Tomorrow - Dystopian Boxed set, I had to read the rest. In this, the second book of the Tube Riders Trilogy, Marta and the Tube Riders find themselves in France thinking they are safe from the Governor and the Huntsman, they find that they are not so welcome in France and going to the French government is not a simple task. They also find that the Governor doesn't know the word quit, but the Governor also finds out that neither do the Tube Riders. The Governor also finds out that it is possible to push someone so far that they stop fearing you.
The Tube Riders is a must read series.

A brilliant follow-up to the first of the trilogy, a real page turner. Can't wait to read the last chapter of the three. I am really cheering on the hero's and hope they succeed. Note sometimes the bad guys turn out to be a hero, without spoiling it for anyone, we had that here which was a nice surprise.

The group have reached France, but they are far from safe. This book exposes you to a whole new side of the dark world with some brilliant twists and more fascinating characters. If you liked the first book you'll love this one.

As with book one, I feel compelled to leave a warning. This series is not for the faint of heart. Lots of violence, but despite that, this may be the best series I've read. The strength and loyalty of the characters is what drives the story.

Ermnm.., all reviews have given an overall average of 5 GOLDEN STARS. I'm inclined to differ though and would rate this book 10 GOLDEN STARS. Out of 5. Well. IF that was possible I would. :-)

The Tube Riders have successfully evaded the Governor of Mega Britain and his huntsmen, including Dreggo by fleeing to France and collapsing the second “Chunnel”…or have they? Certainly, they have injuries that need healing and there seems to be no one around in France to help them.
Dreggo has been found by monks, washed onto the beach, injured and nearly drowned and they are nursing her back to health. So much for the Tube Rider’s clean getaway!
Not to be defeated, the Governor has called on a unique character that he has kept locked away for forty years and is blackmailing him into pursuing the Tube Riders in France. Altogether a nasty proposition, for now the Tube Riders must find a way to get the information on a digital photo memory card into the hands of the European governments, a task that much easier said than done…especially since the Governor has found a way to turn significant resources in France against them.
However, extreme circumstances make for extreme alliances, and the opportunity arises to save the mission. But will they get help from the European nations against the Governor of Mega Britain? Guess you’ll need to read it to see. One thing is certain. Readers will not be disappointed with the action. This book is just as action-packed and imaginative as its predecessor in the series.
Strongly recommended for readers of dystopian and action books of all types.

Like every second book in a trilogy this one is merely average.
Continuing the story of the Tube Riders as they aim to bring down Mega Britain, Exile follows the group as they head to France with a new monster in pursuit, Halo, a genictically modified man in the same facility as that of the Govenor.
One of the highlights of the story is Gravedigger, an adorable robot who spends more time saving the day than any other character. His relationship with Carl is charming and beautifully written.
Yet, the story itself is not beautiful. It is a dark sadistic tale filled with death and destruction. It appears for Ward that no character is safe from his wrath which, in truth is rather endearing.

Love this series!
Really unique storyline - for me. I find that most of the sci-fi series that are really good are written with young people as the heroes and heroines, which is logical to me. They are our future.

Worth reading, but unnecessary occasional swearing and perhaps too complacent with the brutality.

The Tube Riders ride again! This time, the story moves to France, where the Riders, and their pursuer, are thrown after their escape from Mega Britain and the Huntsman. Their story continues with the same great characters, plus a few new ones. The plot twists are fleshed out a bit but the full story has yet to be told. It's another exciting, scary, emotional ride for them and for the reader.
