Meet Ariel she is King Triton's youngest daughter with a beautiful voice and a keen sense of adventure which of course gets her into trouble. with her trusty side kick Flounder they go out for adventures in the sea where Ariel likes to collect human items from sunken ships..she has a cave where she hides them..Skuttle a crazy seagull that Ariel is friends with tells her what he thinks the different human items are like a dingelhopper aka a fork is used to come your hair (lol yeah right)..King Triton sends Sebastian his music director to watch over Ariel and discovers that she goes up to the surface and falls in love with a human named Prince Eric..Triton destroys her stuff and of course along comes the bad guys Floarsam and Jetsome Ursala's to evil minions to escort her to the Sea Witch and well u have to read it to find out what happens

The story behind the book is what really deserved the 5 stars. My aunt was going through some of my late grandfather's work room and found this book yesterday, still in a bag with the original receipt from 1991. We are guessing he bought me the book and forgot to give it to me. It means so much more to me now than it would have when I was 6! :')
