New York Times bestselling author Travis Thrasher has written over 75 books, from fiction in a variety of genres to memoirs and children’s books. He has collaborated with filmmakers, musicians, athletes, comedians and pastors. Travis lives with his wife and three daughters in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Mike Harden is caught by surprise with his death. When he's offered the choice by Thomas Constant, he chooses to travel back sixteen years to the day of his marriage.
While you might think this is a wonderful way to spend the last seven hours of your life, Mike has other plans. It was on this day that a man named Vince Levy first saw Mike's wife, Ashley, and decided to murder her. Mike plans on destroying Vince before that can happen.
This is the second Travis Thrasher book I have read. He takes his readers to the limit of visualizing violence in your head. He doesn't go about it with the descriptive gore but it's his choice of words - they're like sucker punches to the imagination. He lays them out quick and joltingly; and then it's over. But the residue stays with you long after the book is over.
This was a high-impact, emotional tale. In fact, the ethereal-like quality almost disengaged me from the story. Alot of this story takes place in Harden's thoughts as he wrestles with what he's going to do with the man who murdered his wife. Is he going to be able to carry out his plan and change the course of history?
These books allow us to experience the "what if" scenarios for ourselves. Thrasher's contribution has a lasting effect.

Travis Thrasher spins another intricate story that is beautiful and thrilling! Mike Harden has been living a life of misery since his wife was murderer six years ago. But on the day Mike is supposed to die he is given an opportunity. A man named Thomas Constant gives Mike 7 hours of extended life, the choice is his on what 7 hours he wants to to live. Mike chooses to relive his wedding day, not only to see his beautiful wife Ashley again but also to kill the man that killed her. But Mike Harden is getting distracted by reliving the past. Will he kill his wife's killer before the 7 hours are up? The conclusion will shock you and bring tears to your eyes.
7 hours, what would you do with your last 7 hours? When I first started reading, I was pretty sure I would extend my present 7 hours but on conclusion of the book I am not so sure. God is the author of time, numberer of our days, giver of second chances and love itself so 7 hours in His hands can lead to a lifetime of possibilities. There is a lot of story and much wisdom packed in this short novel. Thanks for once again giving me something that was entertaining and thought provoking.
Mike Harden is given an opportunity to relive any seven hours of his life. He chooses his wedding day. Knowing that one of the wedding guests will brutally murder his wife, Ashley, a few years later, Mike is determined to change history ... even if he has to kill to do it.
If you were presented with a choice at the moment of your death, to live another 7 hours or to go back and relive any 7 hours of your life, what would you chose? Either way, you will die it's just you are given a choice in how you wish to spend your final hours? This is just the decision presented in the 7 Hours Series.
In Teardrop by Travis Thrasher, Mike Harden, owner of the Grind coffee shop is moments away from suffering from a massive heart attack when Mr. Thomas Constant pays him a visit just in the final minutes of his life. The choice is his, 7 hours more, or any 7 hours in his past.
At first, Mike can't believe it but when pressured for a choice in the final minute, his is an easy one. He wants to go back to his wedding day, the day where he can confront one of his wedding guests and one who will ultimately kill his wife based on meeting her that fateful day. But just how is possible to kill a man on your wedding day and go completely unnoticed? Taking his training as a former cop, Mike tries to remember back what happened that day, but the unfortunate timing of his wedding coordinator keeps Mike so busy, it's hard to find a way to confront Vince without leaving witnesses and still participating in his wedding day. Will he be able to go through with it or will his actions forever change the future he would have later in life?
This short story collection in the 7 Hours Series, reminds me of Lay's Potato Chip's saying comparing this series of books, You can't read just one! These are so addicting and wonderful to read, you have to know how they all turn out. Each author was presented with the same premise, but their story creativity was left up to their own area of literature expertise. Being a huge fan of anything Travis Trasher writes, I had to scoop this one up. I was not disappointed in any way, and this was the second book I read in this collection, but definitely NOT my last. I easily rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend this to fans of such stories of The Twilight Zone and Night Gallery, because that is what these remind me of. For now, I am off to read the next one!

In each installment of 7 Hours, a character is visited by the enigmatic Thomas Constant, who makes a heart-stopping statement: "You are about to die. But you may choose from one of three options: Live seven more hours, travel back in time and relive seven hours, or accept the inevitable and die now.
My Synopsis:
Former police officer Mike Harden's wife was brutally murdered 6 years ago. Now running a coffee house that is about to go under, Mike's only comfort seems to be his two Chihuahua's Payton and Butkus. Each morning Mike takes the dogs for a walk no matter what the weather. On this day when he is just about home he meets Thomas Constant. Trying to be nice to a stranger, yet wanting to get rid of him Mike offers to meet the persistent Constant at his coffee house and give him a free cup of coffee. When Constant makes him his standard 7 hours offer once again Mike tries to blow him off. Thinking that it would be easier to just play along Mike tells Constant that he would like to go back in time to his wedding day. When Mike realizes that he has been transported back in time to that very day he has one goal in mind: to kill the man that murdered his wife!
My Thoughts:
I really liked TEARDROP. I liked the fact that Mike was able to relive some moments from his and Ashley's wedding. To take the opportunity to tell her several times how much he loved her and how thankful he was to God for bringing them together. I liked the mature 41 year old man looking back on his 24 year old self willing to redeem some of his mistakes.
Teardrop is my favorite in the 7 Hours series so far! I loved it! The characters were great and I loved the whole premise to the story (how a man chooses to go back in time to when his wife met her eventual killer to try and prevent the murder from ever happening). Great read!
Overall thoughts on the series:
All in all, this was a very interesting series that I extremely enjoyed reading! I loved how so many of my favorite authors came together with this series and I really enjoyed all the installments, though my two favorites were The Last Night of Alton Webber by Robin Parrish & Teardrop by Travis Thrasher.
I recommend the 7 Hours Series if you enjoy quick reads with some intriguing and supernatural aspects.
*I received a complimentary eBook copy of this series for my review. I was not required to give a positive review, only my honest opinion - which I've done. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.*
This is my first Travis Thrasher book but it won't be my last.
A story that starts out as one of revenge becomes this gorgeous love story on two levels: husband and wife, and man and God.
And it captures the essence of love's power to redeem, to restore and to heal. I can't go into anymore detail as that would give key elements of the plot away to future readers.
Mike Harden is a complex character and Thrasher deals with Harden's maze of emotions cleverly and with tremendous empathy.
My only criticism of the story is that the majority is narrative. Yes, we see a day in the life of Mike Harden from his perspective but I wish there had been more interplay with other characters.
The story moves with good pace and the reader is always unsure how it will end up.
Do read this, for $1.97 it's a steal for a couple of hours of quality story telling.
Travis Thrasher is the reason I picked up the 7 Hours novellas, and the reason I now have six more authors to read.
Given the choice to relive seven hours of his life, Mike Harden goes back to his wedding day in order to try to stop the events that led to his wife's murder in the future.
Thrasher delivers a novella filled with plenty of suspense as Harden gets the opportunity to relive his wedding day with all of the duties that entails while trying to figure out how to change the future.
This was a really short read that I read in a few hours on a flight I was on. I really liked where it took the reader. It's about a man struggling with rage and greif when he is given a second chance to change the course of time.
Regret & bitterness should never be fed. This episode of the "7" series is a reminder that the blame game has no winners. Our hero discovers the futility of revenge but ultimately gains his soul. And they lived happily ever after.
Love this one specifically the most out of the whole series because I loved how the author continued his story to the end instead of ending suddenly at the death of the character.
