Summary: Awaken the Giant Within Anthony Robbins

Rate this book

This work offers a summary of the book "AWAKEN THE GIANT WITHIN: How to Take Immediate Control of Your Mental, Emotional, Physical & Financial Destiny" by Anthony Robbins.

If you are in search of a motivating, mood enhancing, goget'em, theworldisyouroyster kind of read, then this is for you. The fundamental maxim of this summary is that by making a few alterations to what we believe, each one of us has the power to take fate into our hands and to get exactly what we want in any area of our lives.

The summary devotes one page to the subject of identity – how we see ourselves and how others see us. Our personal identity has a huge influence on our future actions, and this too is something that Robbins believes we have the power to choose and selfcorrect. The final section of the summary is entitled "A lesson in destiny". It invites us to take full advantage of our time on earth, living each day as if it were the last. It may sound cliché, but it's true. Replete with inspiring quotes by famous thinkers – from Marcus Aurelius to Benjamin Disraeli – this is an inspiring read which will empower you with the right attitude and actions to master your destiny.

With this book I started to read this kind of books, very recommendable, I like reading books that gives you lots of recommendations to your life and how to take advantage of some difficult sitations. I remember when Tony said: "instead of saying, -Im gonna throw away the diapers used for the baby, I hate doing that-, you can be more positive saying: -Im gonna throw away the Residues Of Chernobyl-" and then laugh a little bit jaja

Great idea for a pocket book for quick affirmations for self improvement for we are a work in progress.
I like the acronym, CANI: Constant and Never-Ending Imrovement.
Some quotes I like from the book:
"It is not enough to have a great mind; the main thing is to use it well." Rene Descartes
"Thngs do not change; we change" Henry David Thoreau

To change anything in your life, use the six steps of NAC = Neuro-Associative Conditioning
1. What do you want in life.
2. Create Motivation to change immediately and urgently through aligning peasure to what you want; pain to what you will discard.
3. Break free from the normal pattern of your thoughts. Get out of the comfort zone.
4. Old habits brought great benefits. Create new habits with the same benefits.
5. Reward and reinforce new patterns of behaviour so they would develop into new habits.
6. Visualize how you feel differently; if not complete steps 1 to 5 again.

Classic Anthony Robbins book. I read the original a few years ago and then read a condensed version of this book recently. The condensed version was excellent. From memory, the full length original went into a lot of detail about things I wasn't that bothered about but it's still worth reading. If you can get your hands on the free condensed version I would highly recommend it.
