Worth reading. This compendium of books tells the story of the history of the 12 Colonies referenced in Battlestar Galactica. There are none of the characters from BSG because these stories predate BSG but does tell the tale of how the war between the humans and Cylons began. There is also a set of notes from the author discussing his mental process and design of the characters. He had to fit the characters and the environment into what we know of BSG as well as create a new world based on our Greek and Roman mythology. It's a long read if you're not able to read several chapters at a sitting. Took me a year but it was enjoyable.
