Although this has a hint of the 'instalove' about it, I didn't mind that much because Grant and Spencer were rather thrown into the deep end.

There's a few twists and turns before it reaches the conclusion but you don't get any clues on the way. It's pretty much handed to the reader as to who's behind the stalking at the same time as the White Knights guys find out.

It's also novella length, so not quite as detailed as Jackie's excellent Power of Zero series but still an easy, enjoyable, read.

The White Knight Security is on it’s way and open for business. With the help of Amelie Croft, their first unofficial case, Fritz Bronnley was able to acquire a grant and clients. His three partners: Grant Keeping, Rylan Jeffers and Luca Birch are ready to work a variety of cases.

Grant Keeping is bored though, he needs something more than just being a body guard/babysitter to business men. Fritz has a new case and client for him. When Fritz passes along the file, Grant is overwhelmed with the clients photo.

Top trauma surgeon at Stoke Mandeville, Dr. Spencer Corel, feels he’s being stalked. He sits down with Fritz and fills him in on all he’s tried to do. He’s even gone to the police but they made him feel uncomfortable and basically ignored the situation. Plus, his ex Carlo Sigismunds, half-brother is a cop.

Grant will have to find a comfort zone with Spencer. But Spencer has no problem welcoming Grant into his home or anything that will require his protection. In fact, Grant can’t believe how comfortable he feels in Spencer’s home. Grant is with Spencer twenty-four/seven but things don’t go smooth. The stalker is still creating dangerous situations for Spencer and Grant. From the first incident in Spencer’s home, Grant feels guilty that he hasn’t done his job. But Fritz is a man of means and he reminds Grant that the partners always have his back. The more time Grant spends with Spencer, his nerves are getting rattled and he needs his outlet to go for a run, but he’s committed to watching over Spencer.

There’s a definite chemistry that’s grows between Grant and Spencer and it’s ready to explode. As Grant needs to protect Spencer the best move is to have Spencer stay at Knightdale Court. With a morning meeting, Spencer is shocked to see Rylan Jeffers condition. Spencer takes over and demands that Rylan be admitted to the hospital. With the team at the hospital a mistake is made and Spencer overhears their conversation on his case. Spencer decides to take action. What danger is Spencer in? Will Grant be able to see his way clear, with the help of Rylan’s advice?

Jackie Keswick doesn’t miss a beat with “Grant” the first story in the “White Knight Security” series. “Grant” is an easy quick read, but it’s still fast paced, with action, danger and lot’s of intimate moments. Even though the story is short, the author still gives enough information on: Fritz, Grant, Rylan and Luca, that keeps each character interesting.

I liked Grant and he certainly meets his match with Spencer. Grant may be dominate but Spencer is just as strong. I liked how he took over when he saw that Rylan was suffering. These strong former military men think they are invincible but Spencer surely opens their eyes.

There’s a great friendship between Grant, Ryan and Luca. They always have time for humor and banter. Fritz was their Captain in the military and he more rigid and still keeps things in control. He also had to be their guide and remind them, no guilt or feeling they are not without backup.

“Grant” is an entertaining and exciting first book for the “White Knight Security” series. Excited to find out what Jackie Keswick has planned for Rylan Jeffers, the second book “Rylan” is coming on January 26, 2024.

DNF @ 23%.

This definitely felt like I was missing some info right from the get go… which turns out there is a prequel which probably should be read.

But this is very instalove. These two are acting like a couple immediately, stopping at a bakery for dessert, wining and dining… can’t we pretend to be professional for 2 seconds, not drool over how hot your client is?

On Edge

Grant & Spencer
Rating: 3.6 ⭐

- Bodyguard/Surgeon
- Stalker
- MM Romance

The prequel to this series "A Knight To Remember" introduced the guys of the White Knight Security group. I was intrigued to see how they all settled down and found love. First up is Grant and currently he's bored with the bodyguard gigs he's been getting. Fritz (Cap) gives him a new assignment that he can't resist. Spencer is on edge and knows that someone is stalking him and possibly trying to hurt him. He's already gone to the police but he was brushed off, so now he's at White Knight Security for help. These two are instantly drawn to each other but Grant has a job to do, to keep Spencer safe and catch the stalker. The stalker has been escalating and is now trying to kill Spencer at every turn. This is an action packed little novella and I can't wait to read about the other guys and their assignments that lead to love.

The story is short and enjoyable, but it lacks depth.
The main characters, their relationship, and the plot all feel underdeveloped.
After reading the prequel, I was excited to continue the series, hoping to gain more insight into each character's background. However, this book didn't deliver on that expectation.

Grant remains as much of a mystery and one-dimensional as he was in the prequel, and Spencer is, unfortunately, equally one-dimensional. Key scenes that could have deepened their relationship are either too brief or missing altogether. And the frequent shifts in POV within the same chapter, often several times, also disrupted the flow of the story for me.
I'm sorry to say, despite the strong premise and promising characters, the execution didn't quite live up to its potential.

**3.5**

Good story with some drama but a bit too short for me. I think I was looking or at the very least hoping for more.

● Contemporary
● A Bodyguard/his doctor client pairing
● A Stalker
● Drama
● Suspenseful
● IMO this was insta lust/love
● Loved the MCs... Grant & Spencer
● Characters from previous book A Knight to Remember play a part
● Chosen family
● Good but I needed this to be drawn out more
● Satisfying enough ending? It ended but left things open
● NOT a stand-alone IMO

Read the prequel and it really caught my attention. I bought Grant and preordered the other 3. I found that the story of 4 men who had been to hell and back, survived and chose to stay together a great storyline. The characters are varied, but they all have a protector gene. Steven is a great character, needing their help to catch his stalker. I hate having to wait until January until the next book. Recommend reading.

I thoroughly enjoyed the prequel to this intriguing new series by Jackie Keswick that introduced all four members of White Knight Security.

In this main story, Grant is the first of our guys to find romance, complicated by the fact that Spencer is a client with an escalating and mysterious stalker. The mystery and romance intertwined smoothly and I'm looking forward to the next of the White Knights to meet their perfect match!

This story was short but intriguing. It was scary at fast the stalker escalated his attacks but I loved how Grant and Spencer couldn't keep away from each other and how good they were together. The stalker was deranged and blamed Spencer for his own problems and in trying to handle the problem on his own Spencer is held hostage but the guys of White Knight Security save him. Looking forward to Rylan's story.

This was a novella so not a lot of pages to build a story. I read the prequel that set up how the White Knight security firm started which was helpful. I thought the premise had potential, but the story didn’t really deliver what I expected. I was disappointed in the ending. Things were left too open-ended for me.

Grant and Spencer

It has been a while since I read the prequel to this series, and now I wonder why - this was a great story about Grant and his protectee Spencer. I loved seeing them admit their attraction and work out how to act on it while maintaining their differences. There is a bit of heat, a little suspense, lots of friends, and a great HEA!

Quick read but with all the elements of a longer book. The stalker was really very thorough. I really enjoyed the MCs although I would personally have liked more details, especially for Grant.

M/M insta love romance. Book 1/4.
This is Grant and Spencer’s story. Grant is an Ex soldier who starts the White Knight security agency and home base with his army buddies Fritz, Luca and Rylan.

Grant gets assigned personal protection detail for Spencer, a surgeon, currently being stalked.

Told from dual POV, the plot is insta-love and simplistic, where everything happens under a week. Zero to sixty on the stalker escalating and zero to sixty on falling in love and planning a future. The steam level was light.

I didn’t read these books in order, but I quickly realized they were very formulaic. This was an okay read. Nothing new, but entertaining nonetheless.
