Hockey College romance. Usually this type of story is bad and full of unnecessary childish drama…. BUT THIS surprisingly is not bad tho. And it’s actually very romantic ❤️❤️❤️ A short romance story but definitely romantic and not boring at all ❤️❤️❤️ I wish it was long story tho 🥺🥺
THE STORY STARTS WITH the heroine is having personal problem. And then starting over her new life in new city cause of college. Which is in Nevada Las Vegas. She got a full scholarship studying to be a lawyer (which is pretty cool). The hero was a famous hockey legend in college and he was definitely pretty good. When the heroine arrived at her best friend Kennedy’s apartment, kennedy suggest them to go to the hockey games. At first the heroine doesn’t want to because she just arrived and she got things to unpack… But the friend insisted that she have to go and they go… During the game, her friend was focusing on watching the game but the heroine surprisingly is reading her book like a giant book to study. Then something happened, like a bit crash of glass with one of the players near to the heroine and her friend. The heroine got a bit hurt then one of the hockey player named shane come closer and ask if she’s fine. And shane immediately talks to the heroine’s best friend cause they know each other… Then one guy also comes up next to shane and immediately start to pay attention to the heroine. Immediately! And also he immediately got so possessive when another dude was looking at the heroine and this is the first time he even saw the heroine 🤣 He kept on looking at her the entire time 😋 Which is pretty amazing cause I love it when a hero does that in the beginning 😋 And since then the romance starts ❤️❤️❤️

Unfortunately he was indeed in the past a manwhor3. His friends claims and even the heroine’s best friend claims the hero is a giant manwhor3 but the hero said otherwise. He say he fvck around but not too much like what other people think… He said tho lol.
The heroine never had a problem with his past tho.
I LOVE THE HERO’S PERSONALITY, he is very caring to the heroine and wants to spoiled her since the beginning… He is hard and ruthless to anyone else but soft only to the heroine 🥺😋

1. The heroine was still in a relationship with her boyfriend back home when she start seeing the hero and even have s3x with the hero. Which is not cool tho. She claims the relationship was getting awful cause her boyfriend was being so silent to her and not paying her any attention anymore. But that still is not good tho, not right for you to do with the hero while still dating someone else and not breaking up. She then breaks up with the boyfriend via texts after she have s3x with the hero couple of times. Not a nice move… I wish she could break up with that boy already in the beginning. THE HERO KNOWS THO BUT HE NEVER GOT MAD ABOUT IT AS LONG AS THE HEROINE IS WITH HIM NOW… But then after couple of weeks, he ask her about that boy and she said it’s over. He have to ask her and not her telling him first 😂😂😂 Which is why the heroine is not my favorite character…
2. MANY PUCK BUNNIES AROUND. The house that the hero lives with his teammates, the streets and even parties. And some the hero claims to have fvck and some the hero said he forgot 😂😂😂 Typical fvck boy answered 😂😂 Even before he have to talk to the heroine in the second time they meet, some random woman comes up to him and ask about him. Which is so unnecessary 😂😂 Every where the heroine goes, many girls will give her glare eyes cause they are jealous of her and probably some of them fvck the hero 😂😂 BUT WHEN THINGS ARE GETTING SERIOUS WITH THEM, THE HERO MADE TWO OF HIS TEAMMATES TO TAKE TURNS TO TAKE CARE OF THE HEROINE WHILE HE IS OUT FOR PRACTICE. Which is a nice move from the hero… But he got a ugly past tho lol.
3. Both of the hero and heroine at first didn’t talked about or have a conversation about they’re relationship. Like if they’re dating or not or exclusive or not. The hero thought the heroine knows it’s exclusive but the heroine never thought it like that because he never talked to her about it. So something have to happened then both know it’s serious and exclusive between them. Which is kind of annoying cause i prefer for them to be adults about it and talked about it. Why wait something bad to happen then be serious lol.
4. The hero’s nickname for the heroine is Grinch. Which is not cute and romantic 🙄 This is so silly of me to say this but seriously. Grinch? Cause she doesn’t like christmas and you have to call her that all the time?! 😓
‼️‼️‼️THERE ARE OW AND OM DRAMA… Other woman drama happens like two times and OM drama happens once. Which is unfair cause OW drama is so annoying to me 😂 Not too annoying and not too much tho… Don’t worry. Other drama is about their friends and themselves 😅

He got jealous even before he knew her name 🤣 And afterwards he just always so possessive over her… HE CLAIMS TO ALWAYS THINK ABOUT HER AND THAT NEVER STOPS SINCE THE BEGINNING. He ask the heroine on a date first, kissed her first, say i love you first to the heroine and ask for her number first 😙😙😙 He pursue her since the first day he saw her… He brings food for her even when she doesn’t ask him to, HE COOKS FOR HER AND HELPED HER WITH THE INGREDIENTS… He always so different with her in the most romantic way…

Not bad at all. It’s my first time reading a book by this author and I do enjoy her writing. I like Neo and Violet. They both had a traumatic event happen that changed their lives. They were both complicated characters. But I’d say it was definitely insta-lust/love for them.
Sorry to say but I did not like Kennedy and won’t be reading her and Shane’s book lol. She was kind of a shitty and selfish friend. She forces Violet to parties saying there’s safety in numbers but it’s just the two of them and at one of the parties she ditches Violet and in the time she went missing to Buddha knows where, Violet ends up with a spiked drink and Neo came out of nowhere and beat up the dude who gave her the drink. Sorry to say but I did not like Kennedy and won’t be reading her and Shane’s book lol. She was kind of a shitty and selfish friend. She forces Violet to parties saying there’s safety in numbers but it’s just the two of them and at one of the parties she ditches Violet and in the time she went missing to Buddha knows where, Violet ends up with a spiked drink and Neo came out of nowhere and beat up the dude who gave her the drink. Where was Kennedy when this was happening? What happened to her safety in numbers bullshit girl code she keeps telling Violet about? She’s hella annoying. Other than that annoying Kennedy character, the book was fine.

This is book one in The Valencia Ice Mafia Series and it is Neo and Violet’s story and omg what a great start to a new series and definitely a must read. When Violet was twenty her mom who was her everything died from a ruptured brain aneurysm sending Violent’s life in to a total spiral of heartbreak and grief and now a year later she is having to move across country to be near her father who is not only a total stranger but also never had anything to do with her life but Violet needs to finish school and get her degree to be a lawyer as it was important to her mom so it was just as important to Violet and now she is roommates with Kennedy who she knew briefly from her other school. Neo leads The Valencia Ice Hockey Team and he has to work hard at everything if he wants to succeed and play professional hockey for the NHL and to do that he will have to maintain his one and done which means no distractions at all especially the girl at the game tonight who seems to be so different from the others that are constantly trying to get his attention. When the attraction, chemistry and connection between Neo and Violet becomes to strong to ignore everything between them seems to fall into place but there relationship will not be plain sailing and there will be many ups and downs along the way but will there love for each other be able to stand the test of time. Wow what an emotional journey this book takes you on and my heart broke for everything that they had both been through in there lives but I am so glad that they managed to eventually work together and get through all the tough decisions and situations that had to be made so that they could get the happiness and future that they worked so hard to get and deserved. I absolutely loved this book and I read it in one sitting until the early hours of the morning because I just couldn’t put it down and I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series.

Violet and Neo - a college hockey romance with talented Neo on the edge of going pro. Student Violet has transferred in to Valencia City University and catches Neo's eye when she's reading at a hockey game. It's dual POV and their different voices and insights resonate. There's a short third act breakup and lots of development for both of them. It's also steamy - they are adventurous and athletic but with lots of caretaking and affection. Loved it!
This romance works so well, both have complicated - and tragic - back stories and are navigating family and expectations. Neo falls hard for Violet, but doesn't open up to her. Violet is looking for family and stability. It's rocky and tricky. They are wonderful together and Neo is gorgeous! He's cocky and very alpha, but also insecure. Violet is stronger than she realises. There's a change-up with a couple of chapters from the point of view of Kennedy, Violet's room mate, who is navigating her own family troubles, such a clever way to set up the next book in the series.

If you like hot alpha hockey players, this is the book for you. A popular college hockey god falls for a grieving self-titled nerd and is shocked by his feelings. But he is more shocked when she rebuts his advances. Not only is she not interested, but she is also in a long-distance relationship, The author weaves the story around their complex family histories and how significant past events have impacted both. Neo struggles that he actually has feelings but cannot stop himself from pursuing Violet. Throughout the story, Neo’s growing maturity and emotional development is evident. While Violet eventually comes into her own, Neo steals the show. It goes without saying that our hot hockey player and geek have explosive chemistry but there is so much more to the story. We are also introduced to the friends of Violet and Neo and get a little of their very intriguing back story. A very solid start to a new series.

What an amazing start to a whole new series. Once again Lisa has written a romance novel that had me invested right from the beginning.
Neo & Violet are two opposites, but they are amazing together. Neo is very focused on his future, and being in a relationship isn’t something he’s particularly interested in. But how he falls so hard and fast for Violet is one of the many reasons why I love reading romance novels. I am near beside myself when a complete alpha male finds his person and does anything to make her his.
Now without giving the complete storyline away, there are a few hiccups along the way and one or two moments or revelations that basically blew my mind.
This made what was already an amazing book into an incredible one - but it also has me impatient waiting for Shane’s book to hit my kindle as well

Omg, I loved this story, especially Neo's character. He is an alpha captain hockey player. Where Violet is a quiet, nerdy, grieving, new girl to the same school as Neo. Neo finds himself falling for Violet and she has the nerve to rebuff the hockey god! Neo then goes after Violet and he can't for the life of him figure out what these feelings are that he has for her. This author writes a good story, and you can almost feel each character's heartache. There is plenty of chemistry between these two and you see them growing into maturity. I also love the second characters of Shane and Kennedy. This is a contemporary romance with a HEA ending and I look forward to the next book in this series.

I finished reading a fantastic book. It's a sports romance with great world-building, a solid storyline, and well-developed characters. The main characters, Violet and Neo, are particularly engaging. Violet, a self-proclaimed nerdy girl, catches the eye of Neo, a popular hockey player. Violet has recently moved to the West to live with a father she never knew after the unexpected loss of her mother. She is trying to keep a low profile and get through school. Neo is the sought-after jock on campus, but he becomes enamored with Violet.
I really enjoyed the world-building and found the secondary characters intriguing. This is a recommended read for anyone who enjoys college hockey romance stories. I plan to continue with this series and I think others will enjoy it as much as I did. Bring on Shane!!!

This is such a brilliant start to this series.
Neo is the captain of the ice hockey team and very dark and brooding, that is until he meets Violet. She wants nothing to do with him but it isn't long before she can't stay away from him.
Violet had to move across the country after her mother passed away unexpectedly and now she is trying to start over at college.
She didn't want a relationship but when Neo persisted she can't get enough of him.
They open up to each other but when a big secret is revealed can they continue on together or is this the end for them.
So much emotion and even more drama but also so much love and friendship.
I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Loved it! I've read a lot of these kinds of books from different authors and you kind of know the end of the story while you're reading it, like they're really predictable. This one was not predictable AT ALL, very unexpected things happened that made hard to put the book down! Totally recommend it!
Neo is the kind of guy I would have liked to date when I was in college. He was a total alpha male, leader and captain of the hockey team, every girls dream. And yet, he was super sweet to Violet, like the perfect combination of cocky and sweet, he didn't care a bit what others thought when it came to Violet.
Violet was a sweet girl that met Neo but seemed zero interested at the beginning. They found that they had more in common than what they'd imagined and the story unfolded beautifully.
I also loved Shane and Kennedy's frenemies relationship - Can't wait to read Shane's story!

Can I just say this book was addictive I couldn’t put it down. I think I fell in love with Neo the minute he skates up to Violet and Kennedy all dark and brooding. This author is one of my favourites and she just has a way of writing MMC that I love, engaging plot and spicy scenes!
I wish this book was a bit longer I wanted to see more of them together and expand on the storylines a bit more but maybe that’s just because I didn’t want it to end. But I did kind of like want to see them evolve more.
Loved the sweet epilogue I hope we get to see the summer wedding and more from these two. Can’t wait for Kennedys book though!

Fingers or Tongue? 5 stars. - It was a mistake to start reading this book before bedtime. It was hard to stop reading even though I need to go to bed already! This author always manages to keep me entertained and very interested in how the story will turn out. I don’t know how this author makes me pull for Neo to be forgiven when he is such a possessive boyfriend to Violet and is violent and arrogant most of the time. He made an excellent decision in the end though. Finger or tongue, you can’t lose with Neo! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily chose to review it.

Lisa Lang Blakeney did a great job on this story, Neo was written well, the plot was strong, Violet and Neo were strong characters as well, the two had a bit of bumpy ride but these two, they were meant for each other, the connection was strong and their chemistry was sizzling, they were good together. This is a great story. I'd suggest reading it.

I like hockey romances but I wasn’t sure I would like a college age hockey romance and I was pleasantly surprised. I loved Violet and Neo and I especially loved that they knew quickly that they were meant for each other. I also appreciated that they had some maturing to do in their communication with one another which seemed realistic for their age. I look forward to reading the next books in this series.

Lots of emotion runs rampant in this book. The way Violet and Neo love is intense. Secrets should never be between people in love. Violet is clueless when it comes to hockey and studies while she is at the game. Neon's immediately intransed by the girl who would rather read than pay attention to him.
