Challenging the dominant alpha doctor

This is a well written story with an interesting chemistry between the main characters. Tabitha is the 2nd child in the Hill family (Lucas, "Dr Damaged Protector", is her older brother) and she has grown up being hated by her dad as she resembles her mum so much. She is an Alpha in the hospital and a dominatrix in the bedroom, but finds herself challenged and intrigued by Bruce when she meets him as he won't bow to her wishes.

Bruce knew Tabitha at college and is jealous of her success after she took all of his chances. They have a chance meeting at a function which ends in the bedroom. She's then shocked to find he's joining her hospital staff, though she doesn't remember him. But as they work together and spend more time debating who's in control, he starts to see another side to her and wonders about his reasons for getting the position at her hospital.

This is a great story, running alongside "Dr Damaged Protector" in time, so it can be read as a stand-alone but some references will make more sense if you read this one second. There is action, drama, steamy romance, secrets, misunderstandings, humor and some great twists. The story is told mainly from the POV of both Tabitha and Bruce, with a few other characters telling a bit; some of it being like a monologue with the characters talking to the reader (these bits really made me smile).

There are more connections referred to in this and I can't wait to read Helena's story as well as the other brothers; there is an organisation out to get the family for some reason and I'm interested to find out what they try next.

3.5:stars. Can anyone mellow out tough Dr Tabitha Hills? She is a hard one to like in or out of the hospital, fiercely competitive with her colleagues as well as her siblings and a dominant woman privately. Being Lucas’s(dr damaged protector) sister she was brought up by the same nasty parents but her life was crueller as her father belittled her because she looked so much like her mother! So you can sort of understand why Tabitha is like she is . Enter Bruce, another doctor, they met years ago but she doesn’t recall him, they have a one night stand and slowly he chips away at her harshness. This contained dramatic situations, some upsetting moments, dominant characters and steam. I liked Bruce but Tabitha was another matter although she did grow on me and the epilogue was quite lovely.

A complex tale of emotional armor and vulnerability. Dr. Tabitha Hills is a formidable yet wounded character. Bruce's entrance brings a slow-burning transformation to Tabitha's life, adding layers to her character. While the story contains intense moments and dominant personalities, it also offers a nuanced look at resilience and growth. Bruce's role as Tabitha's anchor provides a refreshing counterbalance, making the narrative engaging. The epilogue offers a poignant closure, rounding off the story with a touch of warmth.

Taming the Alpha Doctor

Tabitha and Bruce knew each other during college, and he has harbored resentment towards her success. As the story progresses, they have a one-night stand, and it turns out they will be working together. The situation between not only heats up but conflicting emotions and misunderstandings add difficulty to their path towards a happy ending. Bruce was a complex character while Tabitha was initially difficult to like having developed towards the end.

Tabitha is Lucas's sister, Lucas had the the first book in this series.

Tabitha thinks she has to be strong and dominant in all situations. She slowly realizes that she doesn't have to keep her siblings so far away from her, both physically and emotionally. She also realized that she's falling in love with Bruce, the doctor that they've hired to help her run the hospital.

The story is nice, but the characters are a little inconsistent. They are cold, then warm, then cold again. It's a little confusing.

Tabitha is a hard woman to like but I could identify with her personal given her dysfunctional upbringing. She is a force to be reckoned with and most men steer clear of her that is until she met her match in Bruce another doctor she met previously. They have a one night stand that changes Tabitha rough edges. Will it lead them along the path to happiness. This story kept me glued to the pages.

There is so much that happens in this book yet not enough. There are so many layers to our characters and as readers we are able to see them. I love that Tabitha never loses that dominant side of her. She was able to find that person that allows her to feel princess and feminine but loves her when she’s not. They found a person who pushes them to be better and together are able to form that beautiful life they never thought they’d have.

Wow, this is one roller coaster ride! I have never seen a more dominant, male hating, alpha, female in my life! But Tabitha meets her match in Bruce in their power struggle for control . Their relationship is sizzling and makes for a most enjoyable read. I loved watching Tabitha fall in love as it softened and transformed her in all her relationships and career. Well done!.

Overall I enjoyed this book. I liked the two main characters. I thought they were a good match for each other. At times I did get a bit confused and had to go back and reread things, but I figured it all out in the end. I received a free copy of this book from book sprout but my review is unbiased

I really wanted to like this book, but I couldn’t get past the way it was written. It was as though it had been roughly translated from another language. The writing prevented me from being able to lose myself in the book. I did not finish this book.

This was an excellent story. It's entertaining and enjoyable. From the start I was hooked. Tabitha and Bruce are forces to be reckoned with. The chemistry between them is intense. The storyline is fantastic. I enjoyed reading this and highly recommend reading it as well. Look forward to reading more from Spencer.
