The world yearns for my billionaire's riches … But I'd trade it all for my first love, my sister's best friend.
Years ago, Emma Matthews fled her alcoholic father. She came back to make a living from her family-owned skating rink.
She didn’t know her father sold it to the hockey team owner: me. I didn’t know she’d returned with dark secrets and scars …
Her beauty made my every nerve tingle with desire. Her very scent ignited an unquenchable fire.
All I saw was a second chance with the woman I love. All she saw was the man she resented for ghosting her.
We make a deal: she’ll be my fake fiancée to help me keep the team and she’ll get the rink back.
The freeze around her heart starts melting, until one night our chemistry crushes the ice.
Yet shadows of the past loom, and her cruel ex, my star player, threatens our fragile truce.
I won’t let her skate back to him. I’ll protect her from her worst enemy: herself.
The stakes are high and the ice is thin but I’m determined to fight for a love that’s real.

I received this book for my honest review. That being said I am going to give it my best to review. Also let you know that I did dnf the book at 50%. I could not get into this book at all. I felt like it was lacking in a lot of places and could not enjoy the book. I kept giving it a try over and over again but I felt not connection with the characters, plot, or dialogue. The idea of the book is based off is a good one and I have enjoyed similar books on it. But I had to dnf it because the dialogue was not well written at all. I felt like I was reading more description when it was actually dialogue. It needs to be more edited so that the dialogue follows rules of dialogue. Either the characters were talking too much or the characters were not talking enough. But it was hard to figure out what was dialogue and what was not. Also did not see any passion for the characters have for each other. Both of the characters were flat and they had no chemistry to each other. Also it was written that the community of the small town hated Emma but yet you saw none of that in the book. You saw some hatred from Emma friend for past mistakes but nothing from her. Also it said that she hated her father and yet didn't see any of the hate. This book needs to go back to editing for some rework. But do not take my word for it and check it out.
It’s read by AI and sounds horrid. I only listened to this book because it was free and I regret it. Reason why I gave it two stars instead of one is because I was able to finish it and it wasn’t too bad to the point where I couldn’t finish it.
The pitches for the different characters don’t change whatsoever and it was really hard to figure out who was speaking when because it’s all in the same toned, female, electronic voice. How it is written can also make it confusing at times on top of that to tell who is speaking.
This book was like if you put Wattpad tropes for stereotypical hockey-figure skater romance/dating my best friends brother/ anything else you would have real on Wattpad in middle school tropes in a bowl and then threw them all in a book and added smut.
The last couple of chapters randomly threw in like 10 different tropes like fake pregnancy/fake fiancé weirdness.
I’m honestly convinced that this was written by an AI system and not actually by an author.
I finished it in under 12 hours just because I was driving for work and was bored, but would never read this again and probably nothing else by this author.
This is a short story, enemies to lovers, fake fiancé This was a great short story. It flowed well-loved the characters and the story building. I need to read all of this series now. Hooked!!
Sabrina and Chase, where do you start? Well, it’s been a secret that is about to be a secret no more. Sabrina is Joe’s sister and Chase’s best friend. And Sabrina and Chase have a past that no one knows about what happened 6 years ago. He was her first. She trusted him with everything, and he let her down. It was at the end of senior year, after a great night with her, he went out to grab them coffee, when he arrived back he overheard her phone conversation that she was accepted to MIT, and he made the decision that he can’t be the reason she hesitates to go, so he left! He avoided her. He thought he was doing the right thing at that time. He broke her! He didn’t think he was good enough!
Now Sabrina has come back into town to stay with her brother Joe and his girlfriend/her best friend Kate. She has an ulterior motive for coming as well. She has applied for a grant, one worth over 2 million dollars. She has made it through the first 2 rounds and could get this grant. It's everything she has worked for all these years. Her idea is a wearable neuro-recovery device. This device would help athletes and others recover from major spine trauma, even early-stage paralysis. She has been working so hard for this. To start her own Pilot Lab, her research, her team, her dream. She is Dr. Sabrina Callahan is a neural specialist, and this is what she has worked so hard for. She is willing to do whatever needs to be done, even if that is pretending to be engaged to Chase!
Chase said yes to the fake engagement, but for different reasons, to him she’s the one and he is willing to risk it all to prove to her he is in love with her and he will earn her love one way or another which could cost him his career, best friend. Is it worth that? To him, YES!
Will she get her grant? Will Joe kill Chase? Will Chase win his girl back? No more secrets.
Here are a few moments in the book that I enjoyed.
Chase turns to me. “You, okay?” I nod “You were great, seriously. You made it all seem so…real.” I take a step back. “Well, it’s done now. The visit is over. We don’t have to keep pretending anymore.” His smile fades. And I hate how much it hurts to walk away. But I keep walking. Because if he really wanted me, he’d stop me. And he doesn’t. Typical.” Still the same guy who walks away instead of fighting. Or maybe it was never real to begin with. Maybe I’m just another game to him. And I’m the idiot still keeping score.
Chase – She walks away like she’s done before. Like she’s expecting me to let her go again. And for a second, I freeze. Because maybe she’s right. Maybe I don’t know how to hold onto things that matter. But then. I move. You're gonna have to read to find out the next move!!.

Sabrina is heading back home to spent time with her family. She will be staying with Kate and her brother. She just told Kate that she applied for a grant and she made it through the first two rounds. She threw Kate a ball, she told her she lied on her application and said she was engaged. Also she gave them Joe’s address as her residence. Kate was shocked about it. They were talking about making a Craigslist ad about finding a fake fiancé. She gets to the house and wants she’s inside she hears music and goes see where it’s coming from. To her surprise there is a naked man facing down on a lounge chair. He looked up and saw her so he got up with all his glory hanging out. He toke a lil long to wrap a towel around himself. He was enjoying how she looked at him, but then she realized who he was and said W.T.F. He went inside to the bathroom and was like she is hotter now and all grown up. He had a flash back of when she kissed him, even tho he told her they shouldn’t. She wasn’t having it no more of shouldn’t happen and she kissed him first. It got more heated and they ended up in his room and he realized it will be her first time. She told him she was ready for him and he toke her V card. He got out the shower, got dressed and went to practice. He practice hard and one of his friend realized it and talked to him in the locker room. Chase confided in him and told him everything, what happened between them and also why he ghosted her. He wanted her to have a future at MIT and he didn’t want to hold her back. He felt like a no body compared to her, she was smart and driven. He was just starting hockey but that conversation stop as soon as him beat friend/Sabrina’s brother walks into the locker room. Sabrina can’t get the image of Chase of her mind. The next day she goes down for breakfast and see her brother and Kate. She offered her pancakes and told her to sit down. Everything was fine til she heard his steps and frozen for a second. He set in front of her, with her eyeing him. That’s when Kate opened her mouth and told her brother everything, even that she needs to find a fake fiancé. Then Kate offered that Chase can be her pretend fiancé and her brother didn’t want it. Kate told him he lives with them already and it will work out and Sabrina agreed. She ask Chase if he can do it and he told her that he can because he owes her that. Hmmmm wonder what will happen between them? Will it be really pretend or will it really become more? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Pucking My Best Friend's Brother by Livvy Stone is a second chance, small town, sports romance that touches on some sensitive topics as well. This is Drake and Emma's story - accomplished athletes in their own rights but also a professional hockey team owned by Drake is front and center.
A one night stand from many years ago where both thought the other ghosted them comes full circle when Emma returns to their small home town. She has a lot of bad memories from there and swore she'd never return. But when she and Drake meet up again their chemistry and attraction seem to win, but does it? There are so many twists and turns along with multiple storylines as the story is told by Emma or Drake in alternating chapters. The prologue sets the stage and the epilogue is the icing on the cake.
There are surprises throughout as the story is told and many characters are not as they seem and have their own agenda. Drake and Emma are often taking one step forward and many more back. He continues to give her space when she's upset about something but she often depends on the wrong person and gives mixed signals to Drake. When things settle and the truth comes out about various events we finally reach our happily-ever-after. There was good closure as a result and I look forward to reading more of the books in the series.

That must be my 3rd book of Livvy from this series and I really enjoy them first bc it has to do with hokey men that are hot sexy cinnamon rolls but dominant as well (and yes secondly yes bc of the hot scenes between the main characters, I must be true to myself haha). This book was a beautiful journey in the lives of Drake (a solid mature empathizing man with big heart ,selfless , strong willed) and Emma an ex pro Olympic figure skater with a lot of unresolved problems.
His back story is really heavy emotional filled with guilt remorse and so many mistakes. Mistakes that they lead him to be who he is now, strong, mature, filled with emotions and empathy, selfless.
Her back story till the first half of the book , for me it does not justify how she is. She is so annoying, foul of anger, negativity and frustrating and infuriating.
But in spite of all that (and thank God for Drake being that absolutely stunningly strong man) they get through it all and have their HEA. It's a good book and a great quick read.

A lovely sweet story; a brother's best friend second chance romance, with spice, ice, love, steam, chemistry, angst, humor and a HEA.
Sabrina and Chase had known each other for years but she didn't expect to find him in the garden of her brother's home when she goes back to stay. They'd had an night together at the end of school but he'd then disappeared and she'd never forgiven him, but Sabrina is needing help with a grant application. She indicated that she was engaged and her brother's fiance suggests that Chase can help as he's already staying with them as well.
Chase had always regretted leaving Sabrina and jumps at the second chance he's offered. As they work together for her grant interview he can tell the chemistry is still there between them but can he convince her that he won't run a second time and neither should she?

Drake and Emma get a second chance at love whilst also dealing with issues from the past. This book as well as being steamy deals with many sensitive issues and how the characters deal with them individually and together as a couple. The careers they dreamed off as young adults are now over so they need to adapt to the new ones. Drake is a selfless and decent man that has been in love with Emma for years. Due to miscommunication way back Emma disappears but years later returns home and reconnects with Drake. Emma was a tough woman to like but learning of her childhood you can sort of understand her tough personality but with Drakes power of persuasion she learns to love again. A great read.
I like that Chase grows and matures and gains his confidence while they are apart from each other. I like that Sabrina is such a STEM wonder and sees all of her dreams come true, but we don't get any information on any relationships during that time. I am also confused about when their one night happened, was it after a high school graduation or college? Are she and Chase and her brother Joe all the same age? What about her brother's girl, Kate? The story is good. The set up is fine, but i want a few more concrete details. I do love their connection and their spice. I also like that the conflict between her brother and Chase was resolved pretty quickly and easily.

A short novella about two people shring a forbidden one night together, but due to circumstances go separate ways. 6 years later their paths cross again. he never forgot her, she wants to forget him. will she give him a second chance?
I give this book 3 out of 5 stars because there were some errors that shouldn't have been in a published book if it had gone through editing. Also, i did enjoy that the FMC was a scientist, but it all kind of fell flat due to lack of a deeper description in reagrds to neuorology in different scenes. I would have enjoyed more description of her prototype, not just that she had one.
I can recommend this book to anyone in the mood for a short novella of second change with brothers best friend.
Great book. It was an absolute page turner and the suspense was OMG! I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t put it down. It was addicted. Emma and Drake chemistry was off the charts and the physical attraction was steamy. The tension was intense but they try to fight the temptation of romance and pleasure it was about her family business and the reputation of her father legacy and his career. Could they make this work or it just explode in their faces and fake marriage? I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. Trina Jones
This is the story of Emma (former Olympian) and Drake's (Retired NHL player) journey towards a HEA. Their story touches on sensitive topics surrounding alcoholism, drug abuse, and suicide to name a few. There is a lot of ups and downs for both characters, but Emma's bratty attitude was wearing me down. I get that she was hurt that her abusive father did not leave her the skating rink she grew up in, but her attitude was over the top. Drake is a good man for being patient with Emma and helping her threw her rough patches. Although there were some grammar errors and confusion with name changes, it was overall a good read. I received this book for free as an ARC and this review is my own personal opinion.
This story has a great line to it. A strong heroine and a combative hero. Ehat more could you ask for. Oh, and it also has some great intimate scenes, lots actually. Once you start it is difficult to put the book down. The book has definite "good guys" and "bad guys" It is easy to pick them out and interesting to earn the crazy things that they do. This adds to the excitement. The characters strong and weak points are well defined that adds to a good understanding of what happens. Of course, the ending is a surprise but, isn't that what you wand. I suggest that you try the book and that you will like it. No matter who you are.
This book talks about real life struggles about alcoholism and drug addiction and how it can affect the lives of people you love but also shows that with help you can redeem yourself. I absolutely loved the chemistry and passion between Drake and Emma. This story had my heart beating with all the emotions and battles they had to overcome. I felt in love with Drake and how selfless he was. You’ll find redemption, forgiveness, jealousy, drama and love.

This is the third book that I’ve read in this series and I have loved them all. They are gentle books with mostly kind words for the main characters, and true love. It does my heart good to read this series. I just adored this book. It brings out the feels like happy, sad, angst, support and so much more. And, in this book, there was not even a mention of puck bunnies. That was a plus for me. I definitely recommend this novella.

Alcohol, gambling and drugs can be terrible addictions. Children's lives are effected making it hard to trust and move on. Love can help build a bridge to repair hurts and anger. It takes time and work but it is worth it in the end. Livvy Stone brought together a story of characters who chose to move past their addictions to build a life and a community that could be better than ever together. Inspiring second chances.
This book had some ups and downs which mimics most of all of our lives. It hit on many of the insecurities most of us had and showed that love and communication in the end helps. Hockey books area fav of mine so this helped me through parts that felt disjointed. The passion between the main characters was hot and intense but Libby balances that out with depth beyond the sex. Certain,y worth reading.
Pucking My Best Friend's Brother is in Livvy Stone's Pucking Hot Hockey Billionaires world.
If you like second chance, best friend's brother romance, you got what you came for. Injuries sidelined both Drake and Emma in their hockey and figure skating careers, but maybe they can rekindle the flame that flared so bright when they were in college.
Between exes, extortion and righting old wrongs, this book gives you plenty of twists and turns to keep it interesting.
I enjoyed this and read it in one day. I couldn’t put it down. I loved the suspense of each chapter and what was coming. Livvy did a fabulous job keep me wanting more. Drake and Emma are dealing with so much guilt, anger, hurt and confusion. It was hard not to love Drake and his amazing patience and love for Emma. Emma was a tad bit more immature and stunted in her way of thinking. Drake helped her grow and I just love that. I enjoyed this until the end.
This book was a great read with lots of family drama, plot twists, hockey and emotion. There is past hurt and anger but also a lot of steam between the characters that I enjoyed watching built. They both had lots of scars from their lives, but Drake and Emma get you cheering for them to get that HEA. It was hard to put this down and I would recommend. Drake and Emma's story was reminiscent of "The Taming of the Shrew" in their personalities and behavior as a took a patient and strong person to tame another person with one just as dominant. With how strongly Drake felt towards Emma, he was eventually able to win her over and prove his love for her. This was a fun, emotional and suspenseful read.

This is the third book in this series, and this is Drake and Emma’s story. This is a well written emotionally charged story, with best friend’s brother, undeniable chemistry, emotions, miscommunication, twists and turns, second chances, first love, and redemption, which leads to an entertaining, heartfelt, and steamy small town romance. Olympic medal winning figure skater - Emma (FMC) is back in her hometown after years away but being home brings its own problems. Namely Ex - Hockey player now Hockey club co-owner Drake who had a complicated past with Emma. These two characters certainly knock heads throughout this book that's for sure. Still I really liked their relationship together even with all the outside influences that wanted to cause friction between the both of them. A good read.
A quick read with a sweet second-chance romance and a good bit of spice. The story has a lot of twists and turns as Drake and Emma face the obstacles thrown in their way, not only to impede their relationship, but also in the quest to help their town and the hockey team. I enjoyed the character development and the redemption arc we see in several of the characters, and appreciated the lack of a "pretty bow" resolution with some of the friendships/relationships as this feels authentic to life.
I loved this book. Great storytelling that draws you in from the very first page. Sabrina was smart and a bit nerdy, which I loved, and the sports-player angle gave it the extra spark. The characters felt real, and their affection for each other was believable. I smiled a lot while reading it. Happy and satisfied. The steam was just right, the hockey balanced, and the banter was fantastic. A really fun, feel-good read
Brother best friend is my absolute favorite trope and this book fit right into that category perfectly. Not to mention all the other things that made this book the perfect amount of spice and plot... I sat down to read this story last night and just COULD NOT put it down. If you’re looking for a quick read with spice and a very cute story then look no further!.

Livvy Stone's writing only gets better. Entertaining, emotional, full of angst and self blaming just touches the surface of this novel. Alcoholism plays a part, the past rears it head, and a crooked partner takes the cake. Page turner deluxe, tension builds as conclusion grows closer. I can't wait for the next in the series.
If you are looking for a sports romance that involves hockey, a second chance whilst being steamy & spicy then look no further than Drake & Emma's story. Can they forgive the past for a chance at a future?.

There were so many twist and turns throughout this story that I couldn’t put it down. Olympic gold medalist, Emma, returns to her home town after a career ending injury. Facing her past head on. Running into her crush and one night encounter, Derek, wasn’t what she was expecting. Loved it.

It’s hockey , it’s swoony sweet romance , it’s a pan entertaining read. Emma left town because of an abusive father , she’s back to try and make something out of the family ice rink . The IceHockey team has purchased it though… Drake is the jerk who ghosted her and now they come to FaceOff with each other . Both have their own vulnerabilities but if they can trust in each other… well written ansty romance . I read an advance copy and my review is given voluntarily in my own words
