I’m the father of my best friend’s sister’s son—only she doesn’t know it.
When I met Layla Craig years ago, I didn’t know she was my best friend’s off-limits sister— all I knew is she was a bombshell and I wanted her badly.
One night we had a sizzling secret encounter and pledged to become inseparable. Yet fate had other plans.
Drafted by the NHL, I left town. My calls unanswered, I tried to forget her—but never could.
Six years later, I’m back home for the off-season. Running into the love of my life again feels like a thunderbolt. Learning she has a son who looks just like me hits me like a slapshot to my gut. And her not knowing I'm the father stabs me in the heart.
Her protective brother suggests I become Layla’s fake fiancé to keep her ex at bay—warning me it must be purely pretend. But our chemistry crackles with sizzling attraction, pulling us together with an irresistible force... ...And this is my chance to win Layla’s and our son’s hearts.
My trophies and billions will mean nothing if I can’t have my family together.
This book was all over the place. There was so much back and forth that it felt like the author was just winging the whole story line.
One minute, Layla is sleeping with Brock. Then she hates him and is not speaking to him. Then they fine again and she says they’ll take it slow. Then she sleeps with him again, then hates him, and then says they’ll take it slow. Multiple times this same sequence occurred in this book.
I did NOT love the characters at all. Layla seemed to be the same child she was in the beginning, even despite being older and being a mom. Brock seemed like an idiot who could not figure out his own life. Did he really think Tierney would stop and go away just because he told her to? Duh, he needs to get crafty! And being a pro and coming from a wealthy family, he obviously has money. Couldn’t he use those resources to figure out his life and get Tierney out of it? Jeez.
In the beginning, the relationship Brock has with his brother seemed close, but there wasn’t much mention or help there when his life was falling apart. The author also didn’t touch on any issues with his parents until the middle where Tierney is involved. Supposedly, Brock has fond memories of his home when he steps in it but hates coming home because of his parents. That seems contradictory to me.
This book was a waste of time. The plot had potential but the author failed to deliver.
Amnesia stories are not my cup of tea to be honest. Why? Bc I find the misunderstandings that are caused are overstretched.... I mean your best friend who you call brother asks you about your sister's condition and you don't tell him about her Amnesia?????? Like dude she can't remember anything from her life that took part before the accident! Like that life never existed. If Brock knew maybe he could understand her outburst at the hospital and wouldn't walk away from her life... But let's talk about the rest of the book!
He is a player in all aspects....Confirmed by his best friend Eric( and Layla's brother)....But one chance encounter with her and he set his life and heart to only be with her. He falls hard , he falls fast and he falls immediately! Brock the most loving caring teddy bear of a "player".
Layla, just broke up with her boyfriend of years bc he cheated on her and although everyone thought she needed time and not been in a new relationship yet, when she crushes with the man of her dream and life she completely surrenders to him. But when everything was set for their feature together, an accident occurs that will change the course of their lives and their life and feauture.
So bc I don't want to spoil anything , Eric has been the only reason for Brock and Layla being apart for six years, he is the reason why the kid grew up without a father, he was so over protective of Layla all her life that led to her been alone lonely and with an ex boyfriend and single. He never treated Brock as a brother since he never thought of telling him about how serious her accident was and the sequela of that. In retrospect Brock's brother and sister in law are so loving and supportive and by his side all the way, all along and everytime they are needed.
If we take no consideration of the Amnesia fiasco, their story is very sweet and beautiful, he is true to her and her feelings, thoughtful , truly in love and he does not lack communication. The same goes for Layla. This story would be so so so much better without Eric's stupidity , but the again without him the story would be shorter by 9 chapters at least! I really like and love Livvy's books so far and I need to delete the first 7-8 chapters and that would be left a masyrrpiece and declaration of love, communication, true feelings , fluffiness(is that even a word??????), trust, growth and so much more.

3.5⭐️ So they're best friends, but he doesn't tell his best friend that his sister has amnesia and got pregnant/had a kid in like five years?! Cute story though
Bookstagram made me do this and because I like to see things through, I finished it. I didn’t hate it but also didn’t enjoy it?
Look, I was here for the smut and predictable story line but I didn’t even have to work for it. The plot was a little bit all of the places and moved at warp speed and didn’t flow very well. And even the intimate scenes weren’t great.
Really basic writing style, instant everything, underdeveloped characters... Just not a good book, which is sad as at the beginning I thought the story had potential!
What happens when you meet the girl of your dreams? With disappointment, you find out after the best kiss ever, and even exchanging numbers that she is the twin of your best friend and college roommate. Let that sink in a minute. However, Eric and Brock just signed NHL contracts, for two different teams, and they are adults all able to make their own decisions. The instant connection he felt for Layla was overwhelming. Unlike anything he has ever felt with any other woman. He walks in telling Eric, “Duuuuude,” I laugh as I high-five him. “I think I just met my future wife.” Turns out they are to go after the game the next day and volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
After Eric invites Brock to dinner with his family he lets him know his sister will be there and she will be attending as well as staying on for the week to help with the volunteering. Brock was shocked, to say the least. He didn't even know Eric had a sister in all the years they had known each other. Can you imagine Brock’s surprise when he arrived at dinner? Then he remembers how he had bantered after he said he found the woman of his dreams. He was giving him bravado.
However, when he told all of us his sister would be there helping for the week. That she was off-limit, to them all. He asked me too. You know you can trust me? He told him, Not even you. That night after dinner they all got settled in dorms then it was lights out. Both Brock and Layla couldn’t sleep. When they finally meet up one thing leads to another and they decide they want to start dating. They are at the job sight the next day and all is well. Until a horrible call comes, saying Brocks's brother was in a terrible car accident, and his father ordered him home to handle the family oil business until the season started or his brother came out of the coma or they found a temp replacement.
Just about the time when he could finally see some light at the end of crazy town all of a sudden Chaz started to come around. So he started texting and calling Eric and Layla wanting to tell them about what was going on. But, got no response. He started to worry that she told Eric about the two of them. He contacted the coach only to hear that Layla herself had been in a hit-n-run accident and was fighting for her life. He went to tell his sister-in-law and found that his brother had woken up. They both told him to go be with his girl.
However, when he got there she shouted at him to get out now and never come back. He was crushed. That’s what he did never knowing she had lost her memory and in all the years that followed Eric never bothered to mention that. So, imagine his surprise when he visits his family and Eric and helps his nephew’s jr. team and there is Layla with no memory and a boy that looks like himself as a young boy. Dun dun dun.
Such a good love story. The drama, mystery, and suspense are worth your time to read.
This was an awesome story - - Brock literally “runs into” Layla and there is instant attraction, and he gets her number declaring her his future wife to his team mates as he goes on to win his final college hockey game. He finds out after the game that it’s his best friend’s sister and Eric warns all the guys away from his sister. The whole group head out to a volunteer opportunity building houses and Brock and Layla get to know each other a little more. They make a deeper connection when he gets a call that his brother was in a tragic car accident and may not make it. He leaves but promises to keep in touch but the following day she becomes victim to a hit and run and is in a coma which Brock doesn’t find out right away as he is dealing with is brother’s stuff. After Brock’s brother is ok, he leaves to go check on Layla who has just come out of her coma and obviously distressed as she doesn’t know what happened. She screams at Brock that she hates him and it destroys him because he doesn’t know what he did wrong.
Time jump to 5 years later and they meet up when Brock visits home and Layla is living there…..with her son Breckin. Brock reconnects with his best friend Eric who is still the overly protective brother but Brock and Layla are drawn to each other like soulmates. They reconnect but have to go through a LOT of ups and downs and plot twists you don’t see coming and they struggle. Your heart breaks for them every time you think they are good to go only to be torn back down again. But love prevails and this story was written really well, had the steamy scenes, had great characters with both the MMC/FMC as well as the side characters and kept you on the emotional rollercoaster. Would recommend

Oh wow, what a heart wrenching story, with all the feel of Love at first site for Brock, when he sees Layla for the first time, but fate has other plans. During the off season for Hockey the team set out to work for Habitat for Humanity. Brock and Layla reconnect and have a night of passion and declare their love for each other. Brock gets called back home for an emergency and whilst there hears that Layla has been in a serious hit and run accident. When he sees her at the hospital, she wants nothing to do with him! He decides to back off, unknowingly leaving her with Amnesia and pregnant with his baby. 6 years later and they meet again, Layla still does not know who Brock is and is unable to understand her feelings for him and why he seems familiar to her. I loved the push and pull between Layla and Brock and how they both fell instantly in love a second time. But once again fate intervenes and a couple of ex's have issues with Brock and Layla being together. A fake engagement, Brock and Layla finding out he is the father to Layla's son all roll into one exciting story. how they fight off Tierney, Brock's ex and how Layla keeps her ex, Randy away from her and her son sets the precedent for this story. An overall enjoyable read that is well worth your time!
This is a beautiful story. Brock and Layla have had fate playing games with their hearts and minds…. His best mate’s sister , she was off limits but on a team trip , they have a good night together declaring their love for each other , they’re determined to make it work.. Then he Fate set them on different paths when he gets posted to the NHL. He gets called back home and while there learns that Layla has been in a serious hit and run accident but when he goes to see her in the hospital she wants nothing to do with him and so he backs away. Little realising she is with child and without her memories.Fast forward six years and he’s on an off season and back home and bumps into his soulmate again, and his son he’s sure but she doesn’t know and it hurts, it’s instant attraction and although she still doesn’t remember him she feels drawn to him . There’s a situation with Layla’s ex Randy and a fake engagement between Brock and Layla is started.. This is a great story with heart and an emotional story. Can fate help this time around to keep them happy safe and sound . Ex’s be damned… Very good writing , with great descriptions and with empathy . I read a forwarded book and I’m leaving my review voluntarily in my own words
This book pulled at my heartstrings. Brock saw her for one minute and knew she would be his forever, Layla felt the same but so many circumstances stopped them from getting their hea. It’s not until six years later that they come across each other again, the chemistry between them is still there but so many obstacles stop their happiness like jealous exes and his parents, Brocks mother really is a piece of work!! Brock had my heart from the get go, a really good guy, Layla was quick to believe everyone but Brock but knowing what she went through it’s understandable. This second chance at love was a rollercoaster ride with amazing friends, her parents and Eric( Laylas brother and Brocks best friend) were special people, with plenty of drama and heat, hateful Tierney and Randy ( the exes)and an adorable 5 yr old. The best ending too. 💙enjoyed very much.
Hockey Romance / Brother’s Best Friend / Jealous Ex’s / HEA
Brock meets Layla before finding out she’s his best friends sister. They spend a magical night together but the next day Brock is summoned home because of a family emergency. The following night Layla is struck by a car and left for dead. When she awakens weeks later in the hospital she has amnesia and is pregnant. Fast forward six years and they run into each other again but she doesn’t recognize him. This story moved along really fast and the drama from their ex’s is off the charts. Tierney and Randy are grade A shit disturbers. Loved the epilogue, so sweet.
This is about the fourth book of the author that I (attempted) to read and I have to admit defeat. I think her books just aren't for me, which makes me sad for the author that works really hard.
I DNF'ed the book at 20%. I didn't feel the characters, the insta-kissing/falling in love wasn't for me and the story wasn't believable (even for fiction). Everything was too cramped into even that 20% of the book.
I am very sorry for the author that I leave this kind of review. I hope that she doesn't read this and that she isn't even a bit discouraged to do what she loves. Her books are just not for me.
"Pucking My Baby's Daddy" is a delightful rollercoaster of emotions, blending humor, romance, and parenthood into an irresistible narrative.
The author navigates the complexities of unexpected parenthood with a refreshing authenticity, making the characters relatable and endearing.
The banter and sizzling chemistry between the protagonists keep the pages turning, while the underlying theme of family and second chances adds depth to the story.
With its engaging plot and well-developed characters, "Pucking My Baby's Daddy" is a must-read for fans of contemporary romance. Highly recommended!
The idea was fine, but a few things didn't work for me.
I'm not sure what kind of best friends Eric and Brock are if Eric didn't mention to him that his sister had amnesia and a child.
Brock said that he loved Layla when they first met, but he left her after a major car accident because she yelled at him once, that's insane to me. Even if he needed a minute after being yelled at, he could have spoken to her again. He really did just wipe his hands of her straight away. He may have wanted her, but he made no effort to actually have her.
Layla constantly mistrusted Brock, he hadn't done anything wrong to deserve that since they reconnected.

The story has promise. The writing style had zero details. Half the time, the author didn’t even identify the person who was speaking. It was almost as if she forgot that the readers couldn’t see what was going on.
The MMC waited too long to deal with the media after his ex caused her drama and the FMC acted childish and illogical about the whole mess. this caused the third act conflict to be drawn out and extra frustrating. If she had just sat down and thought about it, she would have known that woman wad lying, but she just kept being unreasonable about it.
Even if you like hockey player romances, pass on this one.
Writing was atrocious… it read like a hockey player fanfic written by a teenager. She finds out she’s pregnant like 5 seconds after they have sex. There’s the almost-always unrealistic amnesia trope. The dialogue gets confusing as to who is speaking at times with no breaks for dialogue tags.
I don’t think this writer has ever met a 5 year old, because the child talks like someone much older. I also think maybe this writer is from the South because children don’t call people “Sir” here in Boston, nor do we eat biscuits and gravy.
It’s unfortunate that this story was executed so poorly, as it sounded like a fun premise.
Well written, entertaining hockey, best friend sister romance, and lots of lies and insecurities. Roommates, best friends, loving family vs status keeping family Brother's accident sends him home to help., Best friends sister and possible love of his life has accident, too, screams when she sees him. Six years later, he thinks it time to go home. Shocking finds, Ex's lies and destruction. An adorable five yr old Hockey playing natural, family all make this a book I couldn't put down.

In walks Layla, the twin sister of his best friend. Brock has decided at that moment she will be his forever. Only with amnesia she doesn't remember him so he ends up leaving with his broken heart. After years apart, can he make her realize they were always meant to be together and she should give him a chance. He will do everything in his power to protect and love her and his surprise child.
Livvy did a great job writing this book. So many emotions.

But I was aggravated by the back and forth repetitive dialogue. Layla did not have Brock’s back at all and I could not stand her for that. She loved him but wanted to take it slow. Slept with him but wanted to push him away. Her wishy washy attitude burned my biscuits😮💨 Why couldn’t she have been rude or die chick. Stand by her man and helped him win over that skank (Tierney) and douche ( Randy). I did like the epilogue so I guess that’s where the 3rd⭐️ comes in because all the other drama could have been cut down.
Brock and Layla's story is touching and heartwarming. It started out fast and the chemistry when they first met was through the roof. There is so much to unpack in this story that it takes the reader by the hands through a journey of love, lost, twists and turns, reconnecting, new beginnings, and a happily ever after. Readers who love a true love story between a pro athlete and a strong heroine should definitely pick this one up. Livvy Stone does not disappoint!
I received this book or free as an ARC and my review is my own!
The variant was fine but there was a part that it just it's too dumb for a professional hockey player that's been in the business for 6 years. Not to deal with some bad press especially if they're lying come on. We have cell phones with photo and video. Nobody thought about doing it sooner. She doesn't believe them and she knows the lawyer lies all the time, but she thinks it's okay. Even what a DNA test proven that the other guy and the father. It's too ridiculous that part needed to be like way better than this. Could have got four stars
Love interrupted as school kids and getting a second chance with a little exaggeration He has loved her from a dar, now he has a chance with her. He chickens out and doesn't come back because she uh as a bright future as a scientist and he has nothing to offer her. He sleeps in his car and is trying to get into the NHL and he doesn't want to be the reason she stays. He finds out she's coming home, has a problem ge can help with and starts construction on his house so he can stay at her brothers house.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Layla and Brock fell in love when they first meet. However the journey to be together is not easy as accidents, amnesia and nasty exes cause problems for them. I was very glad when they can finally get together and be the family the were meant to be. A bonus is her amnesia is finally cured giving back the memories of they firsts back to her.
The author has done an absolutely brilliant job with telling Brock & Layla's story. Their journey takes the reader on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. The chemistry between these two is undeniably heated. Will they get a HEA or will their second chance be destroyed by others?.

I love reading Livvy’s books. This one was sweet with a side of drama! I liked Layla a lot, she went through so much but she came out stronger and fought through her scars. Brock was the sweetest man, so patient and kind. I definitely couldn’t put this down and I am so glad I got to read this. Do yourself a favor and pick it up! The characters are well written, it was easy to follow the story. I felt what they felt and I like that.
A SCROCHING HOT and I mean a SCROCHING HOT romance book that will melt the ice right out from under your skates. Brock is a hockey player that had a one nightstand with his best friend's off limits sister Layla. Then things take a big turn in both of their lives. I am not one to deliver steamy news so all I am going to say is READ this book by Livvy to see how brilliantly she writes this story about Brock and Layla. You won't want to miss it.
WOW this was love story of the making between Brock and Layla as temptations was grown so deeply between them it was spicy hot romance. I was on the edge of my seat and it was addictive and I couldn’t put it down. Absolutely loved the chemistry and the atmosphere that was going on between them and with unexpected moments. I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. Trina Jones
