Cora Harrison would like nothing more than to find a godly husband and enjoy the blessing of being a wife and mother. That's why she's happy when the new young doctor sets about to ask if he may escort her to dinner. However, the doctor is right in the middle of his request when who on earth should walk in but Kin Davis, Wyldhaven's rogue traveler. The man she's fought to forget with every ounce of her being for the past two years. Of course Kin would turn up with that annoying smirk right at this moment! The man is as incorrigible as a rock! So why does the strength in her legs instantly fail and her heart take to flight?
When Kin Davis walks into Dixie's Boardinghouse and finds the town's new doctor fawning all over Cora, irritation surges. Despite that, Kin holds no hope of attaining 'Missionary' Cora's interest. She'd never fall for a scoundrel like him. Besides, he has to look after Isaiah Coleman, the kid he rescued from the streets of Seattle. And there's his law practice to set up. He doesn't have time to court a woman, no matter how pretty she might be or how pleasurable her company.
That's what he keeps telling himself until Isaiah's enemies follow him to town and Cora is put in the crosshairs. It's then that Kin realizes Cora means more to him than life itself. Take the next stagecoach to Wyldhaven, where the coffee's perked hot, the sheriff likes his apple pie fresh from the oven, and adventure invariably waits just around the next river bend.
LYNNETTE BONNER, the daughter of missionaries, was born and raised in Malawi, Africa, graduated high school from Rift Valley Academy, a boarding school in Kenya, and attended Northwest University in Washington, where she met her husband, Marty. A few years after their marriage, they moved to Pierce, Idaho. While studying the history of their little town, Lynnette was inspired to begin The Shepherd’s Heart Series with Rocky Mountain Oasis. Marty and Lynnette have four children and currently live in Washington, where Marty pastors a church.
Such a lovely, wholesome , and entirely Christian western style romance:) Many impressive spiritual elements written throughout that were put gently and appropriately, as well as well needed. I love how she created her characters as still human although quite admirable and wise. No other the top nor hot headed maddening types thankfully! Many people to keep track of at times; if I fell asleep while reading at bedtime, I would try to remember who was who at times but no big deal; sweet story and would read more by this, new to me author :)
This was a great story of a young man coming to believe and accept God's love for him. Kin Davis has been one of my favorite characters in the Wyldhaven series. Although he always struggled to believe he had any worth or that God could love someone like him, he was a kind, giving person with a protective nature. This book follows his journey from skeptic to surrender and all the people who influenced him along the way. There is humor, danger, and love. This is a great series and I hope to read Zoe and Wash's story next.
Wow, the best so far! Cora and Kin are perfect for each other. Ike is adorable. Zoe and Wash still have lots to sort out. I can't wait to read q next book u this wonderful series. Happy reading!
Another great addition to the Wyldhaven series! Kin has been gone from Wyldhaven for several years. He battles alcoholism and nearly loses his life until a young orphaned boy comes to his rescue. In order to keep young Ike safe from some sailors who are bent on harming him, Kin returns with Ike to Wyldhaven, taking full responsibility for Ike's care. While in Wyldhaven, Kin runs into Cora, a longtime friend and godly woman he has feeling for; but Kin's feelings of unworthiness keep him far away from Cora. Until competition for Cora's affection arrives on the scene. When Cora's life is in danger, will Kin come to her rescue? This is a sweet story with great Christian insight and characters who care for each other's wellbeing as a community. A true gem that I highly recommend! Well done, Ms. Bonner!
Kin is still fighting his demons when his aching head is interrupted by a boy's insistent tugging then a bucket of icy sea water. Thus begins a relationship between a mulatto boy, a believer, whose father recently died, and Kin, still struggling with God and surrender, that will take them from Seattle to Wyldhaven to San Francisco and back to Wyldhaven. Kin will reunite with the girl he rescued in Cle Elum 2 years back, with "PC," and with a miraculous reunion with an old friend, now bitter and resentful due to a tragic incident during his time in the cavalry. Delusional sea captains and their goons, a pompous and boorish doctor, childless couples, rocky romances, kittens, a bad vote, an unknown bylaw, a few comeuppances, and new life in Christ, complete another saga in Wyldhaven.
what a great package of love, suspense, life and of course faith,
Another great installment in Wyldhaven series! It’s truly such a joy to get back to the characters, see them grow and mature, and to encounter sweet and clean romance once again. I love how unabashedly Mrs. Bonner shares about faithfulness and goodness of God, and how encouraged you are after you finish her books. Here again, we see unchanging, never-giving up love of Christ who pursues and finds lost sheep. There are concerns of racial prejudices raised, as well as PTS, so if it’s a trigger, be advised.
How a rebellious teen turned to God and won the love of his life.
Wow Lynnette, you done it again with another fine book in this remarkable series. I just loved it. The storyline is remarkable along with some wonderful and interesting characters whether they are the heroes or the villains. The story is a page turner too. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to another story from you.
I have loved this series from the first book. Lynette Bonner is a talented author and has filled the pages with excitement, adventure and love , but I am deeply disappointed with the way she has left Zoe’s and Washington’s story hanging with disappointment. Zoe and Washington were introduced early in the series and have been continued all through the series. Now, at the ending their story is completely left unfinished.
It’s so hard to fine such well developed and well written stories these days. Bonners characters are so believable and so well developed they become friends. In her books her descriptive depiction of life in the town of Wyldhaven and the beauty there is so full of detail, I felt as if I were watching a movie! The characters are full of life, likable, and realistic. GREAT FEEL GOOD READ!!!
Just when you think a story can’t be topped, Ms Bonner does it again!
I have immensely enjoyed the Wyldhaven series. Only one more book to go! I’m really going to miss every single character I’ve come to know and love. This series has it all. Romance, adventure and wholesome, faith-building moments! I would highly recommend this series be read in the order written. I’m sure you will love it too!
Kin Davis has been a rascal all his life. His life with Parson Clay impacted him in many ways, but he never surrendered his life to Christ. Even though his nature was kind and giving, Cora knew that in order to pursue a relationship with Kin, he had to love the Lord as much as she did. Only God could coordinate events in Kin's life that will bring him to that place of surrender. Read and be blessed!
I loved the story of redemption for Kin. Isaiah’s story is tragic yet beautiful. The “bad characters” were lacking character development. Just flat evil with no motivation other than pure greed and an unexplained previous attachment to Isaiah’s mother who passed at childbirth.
I continue to find the overall story line of Wildehaven to be delightful, but this one didn’t keep my attention as well as previous novels and novellas.
It has a great premise and storyline. I would get pulled into the story and then it would change to telling. When it was writing I was pulled it when it switched to telling it pushed me out as if I was watching from a narrator's point of view. It was interesting. It's almost as if it meant to do it but it didn't read smoothly at all.
Although this is mostly Kin and Cora’s story, there is so much more. Isaiah is a perfect additional citizen of Wyldhaven. I am going to miss these folks as they feel like friends and family. Thankfully there is one more book waiting. Wonderful, uplifting, inspiring series.
I have read 7 books now, each one as good as the last, never boring and so much care in filling in all the details. I've loved each one and am so sad to be starting the last book in this series. I hope there are more, as there are so many people in this town that I feel I know! I'd love to hear all of their stories!
Very good Story! Lynette Bonner is a gifted historic romance novelist! She weaves a story guaranteed to keep you enthralled all the way to the end! She connects all her characters to give you a vivid look at how they relate to each other, and God! Can’t wait to continue this series.
Excellent!!!! Enjoyed reading Kin and Cora's story. Cora was very smart to hold out for a Christian man Life is so Blessed when we're equally yoked . GOD Bless Lynette Bonner for the beautifully written books she writes It always amazes me how some people think they are entitled to get what they want no matter what!! We serve an Awesome GOD
When you finally see how God has lead your life without you realizing it, it stops you in your tracks when you do. Kin has known God existed, but didn't think that God loved him. He finds out differently. Good clean romance.
This one kept me on the edge of my seat looking forward to the next one which is the last one of this series Praise God for this author she is amazing if you read this series you will love it very much 🥰😍🥰
The title says it all. God is wonderful that he brings such joy to our lives that it is sweeter than honey. Cora and Kin lived desperate lives yet God was faithful to help and heal them.
There are a lot of things going on in this book. I had a hard time keeping track of who was who. But the suspense kept me reading. I know some of the couples will be continued in the next book and I’m anxious to see how it turns out.
I Love this story about Kin Davis. He somehow became my favorite. I love how his story worked out. I enjoyed every moment of his story in each of the other books. It made me very happy to watch it work out in such a good way.
Very much love this series . However, it is a must to begin with the first book, so you are able to fall in love with each and every character as I have. Thank you so much and may God bless you.
Lynnette Bonner once again succeeds in writing another wonderful novel! The characters are like old friends at this point. I love all of the different heroes and heroines with their own unique stories.
Enjoyed this book too. This has been a good series,
I was reluctant to read the series fearing poor editing and spelling. I’m happy to say that’s not been a big problem and the story lines are excellent.
Yes good story of the Love of God pursuing us. Enjoyed this tale of kind, bighearted yet lost Kin and Cora's struggles as their hearts are knit together. A beautiful yarn to spend reading on a cold winter's evening cozying up near a fireplace and hot chocolate.
So good! Heartwarming, adventurous, some danger, mystery and romance all rolled into one. And yes, I stayed up late to finish it because it was that good!
So glad to have another installment of the people of Wlydhaven. Kin is one of my favorites, but it was especially nice that the story wasn’t just about him and Cora. I love all the subplots that wind together to create a whole picture of community.
