Ruby Sharp is a contemporary romance author, and in her steamy world of storytelling, she weaves tales that could make even a billionaire bad boy blush.
When not immersed in the world of washboard abs and protective alpha males, Ruby embarks on a different escapade: gleefully uncorking the swirling adventures of wine. It’s a fitting pastime for someone who knows that a good vintage, like a well-written romance, gets better with time. It will sometimes spark the next great story idea…or so she claims.
In the realm of reality, Ruby also works in finance. She enjoys marital bliss (well, most of the time) and shares her kingdom, on beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia, with their two spirited daughters and a dog whose idea of a plot twist involves chasing its own tail.
This was overall okay in the realm of grumpy-sunshine age gap somewhat forbidden romance. For me, the relationship between Michael and Brooke was a little… I don’t know why it didn’t quite sit well with me- maybe it’s the initial hook up they had- something was off for me. I did like that Brooke challenged him when she thought he was wrong but we never really got to see him actually really parent his child even if it was implied that he was a great parent. The spice was very much there, but for me it felt a little… forced is not the right word- it felt a little there just to be there, it didn’t seamlessly fit for me.
This was more or less inoffensive and a pleasant, moderately spicy read and if you like these tropes and are looking for an undemanding read, this is might be a good one to check out.
Michael is attracted to his best friend's sister. Brooke is looking for a job and not having much luck. So, when Michael asks her to be a nanny to his daughter she accepts until she can get a teaching job. He needs someone to watch over his daughter and help with her studies while they are away for his work. Its not long before things heat up between them. Will this turn into something more between them?
This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter on. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.
The MFC needs to be smacked. I could not stand her. She was so judgmental and stupid. She had no common sense at all. She decided the MMC was a bad father base on a short period of time that was obviously a stressful time for him. Her closed-minded quick assumptions were completely ridiculous. I have never actually hated a MFC as much as i hated this one. The writing wasn't great either.
Heat up your insides with this really special romance book that Ruby wrote for us. I found myself drawn into the characters as the book went along. I thought how Michael proposes to Brooke was so romantic it gave me chills. I have always found that a really fantastic book like this one makes a girl have HOT daydreams. :) Everything was well done with this book, and I would suggest it to all my friends and family.
Michael is Brooke's brother's best friend and in need of a nanny. When she is asked to become the nanny, she accepts since she can't find a teaching position. Taking the job sets Brooke and Michael path. Spending time with Michael allows feelings to grow between them along with an unexpected pregnancy. Will friendships be lost, and hearts broken. This story kept me glued to the pages.
