She is, however, tired of spending Christmas with a family who doesn't seem to care that she's even present. When the hot coworker she's been fawning over says he needs a last minute house sitter to watch his cute pup Finley, Amelia jumps at the chance for an excuse to stay in town. Making a little money to pad her solo vacation fund is just a bonus.
What neither she nor Levi Abner could've predicted was a blizzard of epic proportions leaving them snowed in together for Christmas.
For anyone else, it would spell disaster. But not Levi. As an overgrown former college football player with a major holiday obsession, he's determined to remind Amelia that she's worth a little Christmas magic.
The problem? He's only got until the snow clears to do it.
Hannah’s accolades include a 2nd grade teacher who said her story about bats had “very good potential” and enough accelerated reading medals to sink a body at sea. Her goals in life are to write Contemporary Women’s and New Adult Fiction novels that will make you cry and to check everything off the bucket list she wrote at seventeen. Hannah resides among the rolling hills of Tennessee with her other half and their clingy golden retriever. When she is not writing, she is trying to outrun her sweet tooth in the gym
4.5 stars! That Christmas Kind of Feeling is a brand new holiday novella on KU. I saw a friend talk about it on IG and was easily influenced to jump into it right away too on release day. 😄 This is a snowed in, forced proximity romance between coworkers, and has secret pining!
Amelia and Levi are coworkers. He’s obsessed with Christmas, super friendly, and not bad to look at either. When a lightbulb goes out on her work desk Christmas tree, he offers up a replacement and gets it fixed for her. So when she overhears his convo with his pet sitter who suddenly got sick and has to back out, she jumps in with an offer to dog-sit for him for the weekend. She’s going to stay at his place for the weekend, but when he tries to leave…he realizes they’re snowed in together! And then the power goes out!
This was just so fun and cute! I loved their banter and swoon together. These two were definitely meant to be and it’s just an adorable and steamy snowed in holiday novella! We also get some character depth to it for Amelia who has a complicated relationship with her mom, I liked how that was all handled too.
I really enjoyed Amelia and Levi, they were good for each other as both had less than great Christmas memories and find themselves snowed in together over the holidays. While this was very insta love I still had a good time reading it!
That Christmas Kind of Feeling had everything you could ever ask for in a Christmas novella - snow, cabin in the woods, Christmas decorations hung like it’s an Olympic sport, fireplace moments, SPICE 😌 I absolutely ate this up.
Truthfully, I thought I was over the whole “snowed in” trope, but Y’ALL I WAS WRONG. Hannah KILLED it. I’m so happy to have read this!
Han, you’re incredible. This was my first book of yours and it absolutely will not be my last! Ps can we please get Levi’s POV, like, ASAP? 🤭
I really enjoyed this story about Amelia and Levi and how they end up snowed in together during the holidays. It was endearing to see how Levi was determined to make sure Amelia had a good Christmas seeing how they both have had less than perfect holidays in the past. This was definitely an insta love story, but with how short it was it kind of had to be. If you are looking for a fun, quick holiday novella this one is worth the read.
A super cute but meaningful Christmas novella. There is actually lots of development for such a small book and I loved that. The spice was probably a 2.5/3 for me and was so well written!
"Just like someone else having it better than you doesn’t take away from your joy, someone having it worse than you does nothing to negate what you went through."
What an adorable Christmas novella! I appreciated that this packed a punch even though it was only 87 pages. The female MC has a toxic relationship with her mom and the male MC has a found family due to a difficult childhood. It was so sweet to see the two fall for each other after being snowed in for the weekend. Such a fluffy and cute read!
Loved this fun holiday novella. Well written and paced with likable characters and some steam. She was able to create depth and feeling in a short amount of time, which many romance novellas can’t. Very sweet, easy read.
What can I say? They’re coworkers who have a sexy and spicy romance over the holidays. It made me smile and giggle to write it, and I hope it does the same when you read it! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
“My heart is hammering in my chest, a thousand thoughts that I hope aren’t painted on my face passing through my brain. Like being stuck here in this cabin with a guy I’ve spent months avoiding at all costs because I can’t trust myself to behave in his presence.” ❄️
Amelia has been dreading going home for Christmas, so when the opportunity comes up to dog sit for her hot coworker she has a little crush on, she jumps for it. When the weather takes a turn for the worst, they end up having to spend the weekend snowed in with no power and just a small cabin to themselves.
This was everything I needed in a short holiday novella! A bit of history, super swoony, a pinch of spice and humor to boot. I enjoyed every bit of it! I love that we could tell that Levi & Amelia were both pining for each other even though we only got Amelia’s direct perspective. Being less than 100 pages, it was straight to the point but somehow still kind of a slow burn? 😂 it gave me butterflies and it also had my chest aching from the emotions! These two were just so sweet and this is a super quick novella to add to your holiday TBR 🫶🏻
Moments I loved: The Christmas “pajamas” Hair washing The chat about their middle school crushes 😂 Sledding & snow angels The bath AND the shower 👀
Tropes: Coworkers Snowed in Holiday romance Mutual pining Warm & cozy feels Sweet and spicy Quick novella
4.5/5 ⭐️ This was such a cutie novella 🥹 I loved the dynamic between Amelia and Levi and even though this book is short, I found myself laughing out loud…. and also borderline crying.
Amelia hates visiting her family for the holidays and volunteers herself to watch her hot coworker’s dog over the holiday, but by the time she gets there the snow is coming down hard. Levi can’t safely make it to the airport and both are stuck in his place until it passes. Can Levi change Amelia’s attitude about the holidays?
Tropes: coworkers, forced proximity, found family, mending relationships, snowed in ;)
I love to include my favorite quotes from books, so spoilers ahead:
“Sometimes no matter how hard you’re hiding, it feels really good to be seen. Maybe especially then.” okay Hannah damn
“Levi Abner, are you flirting with me?” He recovers quickly, schooling his face into cool neutrality. “That depends.” The front door opens, a gust of wind and snow flooding in through the opening. “Do you want me to be?” SWOON.
“There can be a million other problems in the world, and not a single one of them makes yours less important.” #facts
“I’m not used to being read so easily.” I shake my head. “It’s a bit disconcerting.” “What can I say? I love a good book.” AH. Omg? Love
There are more but 🥹 is all I need to say.

Hannah is an auto buy author for me, so when I saw she released a surprise, holiday novella, immediately grabbed it.
One of the things Hannah does well is writing characters that are so lovable, and you immediately become invested in their story arcs. Amelia and Levi are no different. It’s a sweet spicy holiday romance with a little bit of a surprise twist at the end when we meet Levi’s family. Also, the spice level is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I will literally sell a piece of my soul for a full-length story with Amelia and Levi. The vibes of this book are immaculate and it made me laugh out loud. It truly should be a crime that it's less than 90 pages.
This novella is a perfect cozy, spicy, snowed-in night. You want a confident, cinnamon roll, former football player, Christmas-loving hottie with a dirty mouth and a humble past?? LOOK NO FURTHER! And Amelia is a sweet little spitfire.
I will be reading anything and everything Hannah Bird releases from here on out, thank you very much.
I decided I can do corny, predictable Christmas books if they're novellas! I love a good Hallmark Christmas movie, but I just cannot sit through 300-400+ pages of cheese 🤣 Things I liked: Snowed in without power Football players/found family The perfect Christmas traditions 🥹
Did you see this surprise release!? Oh my goodness the way I SQUEALED! 😋
“Sometimes no matter how hard you’re hiding, it feels really good to be seen. Maybe especially then.“
Hannah’s writing always does it for me. She has a way of bringing all of your emotions out and I love her so much for it. This is a Christmas novella- so you think “hey, quick cutesy, spicy read, right? Right! Because it is all of those things. But it’s also enlightening and deep (but not too much to dampen the mood and ruin the cozy feel, if you know what I mean?) It shows a woman finding her voice and standing up for herself to those who mean the most to her, and shows a man who has found his family over the years doing whatever it takes to bring Christmas cheer to the woman he was lucky enough to get snowed in with! 🥹
Amelia hasn’t had a good Christmas since before her dad left, many years ago. She struggles finding the happiness that this holiday usually entails for everyone else due to her mom’s “new family” and feeling forgotten when she goes to visit. Levi, sweet, sexy Levi, is her coworker. His feelings regarding Christmas are to make it the most special day, every year- and he does that by spending time with his found family every Christmas. Until Amelia offers to dog sit for him and when he goes to leave he realizes the roads are impassable! (Oh darn 😉) I don’t want to say too much about the plot because this is a novella, so it is a quick read. But I fell in love right alongside Amelia because that man is the cutest, quirkiest, most caring bear (the way that man intently listens and offers kindness in his replies/actions 😮💨) AND THE SPICE!! Was not expecting it but cannot even begin to tell you how much I ate it up 🤪 this whole story is “pretty big potatoes” and will have you laughing, swooning, and blushing- read it and message me play by play thoughts 🤣
“Just like someone else having it better than you doesn’t take away from your joy, someone having it quote-unquote worse than you does nothing to negate what you went through.”
This is everything I want in a Christmas book. It’s not over the top in terms of Christmas content but enough to get me in the holiday mood. Beyond on that though, this quick little novella packed a punch in terms of content. We get an emotional story, character growth, AND steamy scenes all in less than 90 pages. And it’s done WELL, which is hard to do in my non-author opinion. But Hannah did a fan-freaking-tastic job with making me fall in love with both characters. Levi. LEVI. My god, that man was delicious and I would gladly take a full length novel with him and his dirty mouth and sweet actions (hint hint Hannah). He’s the ultimate package. Sweet and thoughtful but with a dirty mind and mouth. Mmm mmm mmm. Amelia was funny and relatable and I loved seeing her step up to a new self in such a short time while also being sexy. Basically the combo of them was just unfair. So, if you’re in need of a quick holiday themed book to warm you up on a cold day, here you go 👏🏼
Tropes/themes -coworkers -forced proximity -found family -spice -golden retriever mmc
Hannah, you’re amazing and I’m so proud of you always!
Amelia offers to dog sit over Christmas for her co-worker, but they get snowed in together!

This cutie novella is worth the quick read!
I loved the simple premise of this book! Amelia offers to pet sit right for Levi when his pet sitter backs out last minute. When she arrives at his house, it’s dumping snow. Levi tries to leave but realizes he can’t get out, and thus two coworkers already attracted to each other get snowed in! Perfect set up for all the cute & spice that’s about to unfold!
As someone who doesn’t have contact with immediate family, Amelia’s toxic relationship with her family and wanting to spend Christmas alone because it’ll be more peaceful is just so deeply relatable.
A cabin in the woods with a cute dog? Sign me up! Getting snowed in with the super attractive mountain man former football player who’s a ray of sunshine and a southern gentlemen? Yes please!
Amelia’s best friend is the real MVP for meddling & a whole lot of humor!
‼️Trigger warnings: toxic relationship with parents
