Rate this book
The fifteenth adventure in a Mountain Man series from Ash Lingam!Mountain men Rusty Steel and Angus McFarlin head out to trap beaver in secret streams at the extreme end of the mountain range—a place they hadn’t visited for a decade. Envy nibbles at the aging men, so they decide to prove their worth before their apprentices Levi Johnson and Will Forrester. They go on a trapping expedition in search of the best cold-water beaver with their dense, expensive pelts like they did back in the day when they too were young. As a massive blizzard hits them high in the Rocky Mountains, they get caught without shelter and begin a life-and-death struggle with Mother Nature. Signs of possible hostile Indians tracks further their despair. Do they have new enemies besides the frigid cold? What Native Americans were so brave they dare hunt white men in such weather?Back in the compound, the confinement to the cabins has sparks flying between Betty Forrester and Levi’s wife, the woman Crow War Chief Dahteste. All the while, their new husbands struggle to keep their wives from falling off the deep end and becoming violent. Betty is Davy Crockett’s niece, and she’s no piece of cake, so the tensions rise as both women refuse to back down.Grab your copy today!

Ash Lingam was born and raised in Southern Ohio, not far from the mighty Ohio River. He had somewhat of an isolated upbringing on a family farm with his sisters. His best friends were his horse, Sugar, and his grandfather.
Born in 1886, the family patriarch grew crops, raised cattle, and doted on the young boy. At his grandfather’s side, Ash learned about livestock and firearms at an early age. His grandad carried an old Colt with him at all times, helping spawn a young boy’s dreams of yesteryear.
Ash was only eight years old when his grandad taught him how to trap muskrats to prevent them from draining the farm’s ponds. He gave him a double-barreled shotgun at twelve and taught him how to hunt to put food on the table.
It wasn’t long before Ash was breaking horses. His spirited Tennessee Walker never allowed any other rider on her back. Together, they searched through the plowed fields in the spring, looking for Miami Indian arrowheads to add to his grandfather’s ample collection.
Ash’s family was among the early settlers in pre-Revolutionary America. He has traced his lineage back to around 1746 when his ancestors immigrated from Europe to the aspiring American Colonies.
A retired marketing executive, Ash devotes his spare time to training police dogs and writing novels. He has found his niche in the Western, historical fiction, and adventure genres. With his vast vault of experience, he never runs out of sources for new stories. He has lived in eleven different countries and worked in a total of forty-six,
To date, Ash has written approximately 130 novels, short stories, and poems. More than one hundred of his eclectic titles help the American frontier come alive for his readers.

Levi, and his crew, definitely keeps you turning pages so see what excitement happens next!

As always, another Levi Johnson five star sensation from beginning to end. I never tire of following these old American western mountains men, as they enjoy life regardless of the situation!
Mr. Lingam is the master of informative storylines, and this captivating western folklore masterpiece is one of his most informative thus far in the Levi Johnson series! Some hair raising encounters in this fast moving series of realistic old American folklore at its very finest! Too, the character selections, as always, go above and beyond in their respective roles, regardless of the situation!
Most definitely recommend this compelling series of one exciting adventure after the other to all readers, regardless if you ZTE a western fanatic or not! Do yourselves a favor and follow these dedicated people throughout their treks in the cold mountain environment!!!😃
