Rule number 1 of internet Never send pictures first.
I’m known as “the dragon who almost exposed us all” thanks to some less than spectacular choices in my youth. The fact that I even have my new job as Flight Trainer for Fire Wing Academy is more of a second chance than I ever thought I’d get. I refuse to mess it up… that is until I do.
Instead of sending the new friend and potential hookup I connected with online the details of our upcoming date, I had to go and send him the details of my new flight training plan for work—with pictures. He probably opened them expecting the smexy kind. Now instead of getting an eye and possibly a hand full, he has proof of dragonkind.
I was hoping to get screwed tonight, but not like this.
Fire Wings is a sweet with knotty heat MM Mpreg shifter romance reminding us that just because you sent the wrong attachment it doesn’t mean that it wasn’t the perfect one after all. Fire Wings features an alpha dragon who can’t get out of his own way, the human omega who wins his heart, al kinds of dragony goodness, meggs, true love, fated mate, an adorable baby (or two), and a guaranteed happy ever after. I mean, were there typos? Sure. Some inconsistencies? Yes. But that didn't take away the enjoyment of this story for me. Raoul and Felix are both such cutie patooties and totally smitten with each other, even before knowing the other one in person. Their love story was adorable. While the book was short, not just the length of the book but also the timeline, I still felt the love, they shared for each other.
I don't honestly know what to say about this book. It started off good, but then the plot seemed inconsistent with holes and jumps in the story. The MCs were ok, but I didn't understand why the dragon wanted to erase himself from his fated mate. Couldn't he just explain and tell him to keep it a secret? Which he did in the end. It felt it was unnecessary added drama. It was ok, but not a great read.
Warning: Rant ahead. If Mpreg is your jam, this might be the book for you. But Fire Wings embodies what I hate about most Mpreg books. Spoilers, but not really because this is what's expected from this sub-genre. Raoul and Felix have unprotected sex multiple times and then are shocked, absolutely astounded, I tell you!, when they end up pregnant. Now I give them a pass on being surprised that they have symptoms the very next morning, because if we're subverting reality to the point that males can get pregnant then we must be subverting reality about how long it actually takes to fertilize, implant, and divide into triplets in our world. No, my problem is that they act like this sort of thing is impossible. So many, many times in Mpreg books characters have sex without even considering this; it just doesn't cross their minds. As a person capable of getting pregnant, I have never had sex without at least thinking about it unless there were precautions already in place. I know not everyone is as fastidious as I am, but an unimpaired person should be thinking about it a little bit, or at least shortly thereafter. Or maybe the next morning, the characters might say something along the lines of, "Well, I should expect so! We certainly burned up the sheets last night. All night!" Raoul and Felix fully intend to never see each other again, so it's not as if they want kids, and they aren't overcome by some mating urge. There's no indication that Felix can't get pregnant outside of a heat of some sort. But shocked they are, and it drives me nuts. All this is before ~50%, btw, and I assume the rest of the book is about the babies coming because I stopped reading there. All of the previously established conflict had been resolved by that point anyway. I did appreciate that the characters were deeper than most, as they had actual concerns and other parts of a life outside of meeting each other. But, I downgraded my stars rating because the author fell into the trap of the worst the sub-genre has to offer, and multiple editing issues.
p.s. I have seen Mpreg done well, especially without the 'surprise you're pregnant!' bit, which is why I haven't given up on it entirely.
This is a good introduction into a new series. Raoul is about to start a new job teaching the dragonets. He's having a lot of anxiety about how the other dragons will receive him due to his youthful mistake where he almost exposed dragons to the world. He wants to be respected again and earn the right to be a true flight leader, like he always dreamed of. Raoul has a pen pal that he's been talking to for about six months now, which started out as a potential hookup but they could never get their schedules together. It's cute how they just kept talking to each other and switched over to email. They don't know each other's names, just screennames, and Raoul's pretty sure he's in love with his new friend. While stressing out about sending his flight training plan to his new boss, he accidentally sends it to his pen pal, Felix. Realizing too late that it's been opened and seen by a human, making this his second big mistake that could bring dragons out publicly. He needs a plan to try and get his new friend to not remember what he saw, unfortunately that means he might also lose memory of their time together.
Raoul is a sweetheart but a little impulsive. Felix is lonely and feels like there is greater purpose for him that just hasn't shown itself yet. When these two meet, they're instantly drawn to each other but are not sure why they feel so comfortable. Raoul's initial plan to wipe Felix's memory doesn't work so they go on a road trip to Raoul's clan in order to have his brother try and wipe Felix's memory and along the way these two grow closer.
I wish it was a little longer to get more world building and character depth. You get introduced to the flight school, Raoul's Clan, and some other side characters briefly. I would like to know more about if the Paul story was real and Felix's commune growing up.

I LOVED this story! I was up reading it until 4:30am when I had to be up at 8 because I couldn’t put it down. Raoul’ “solution” to fix his (2nd) mistake was absolutely hilarious and the fact that Felix felt so connected to him that he just went along with it instead of thinking he was a crazy person added to it.
I also love unique stories like this where the human mate gets some super awesome benefit(s) to mating with shifters or some type of supernatural being and I feel like there really aren’t that many like this, and I’m not just talking about a longer life span or something small/subtle like that, I mean a big unexpected benefit! (I don’t want to spoil though).
I know that this book is in a multi-author series but I would absolutely love to see Raoul’ brother, or someone else that’s connected to Raoul and Felix, get a book as well as see more of Raoul’s parents.
This part does not effect my review, I’m only mentioning it for those who may struggle with something like this so they can watch out for it, but there were quite a few times where Raoul’ name was spelt wrong and then in Felix’ chapters there were also quite a bit of times where it was supposed to say he or his or something like that but said my instead. There weren’t enough mistakes that it was so obvious that it ruined the reading experience for me, again, I’m only mentioning it for those who may get stuck on wrong words easily so they can watch out for them.
Overall, this book was absolutely fantastic and I kind of wish I could unread it so I could reread it all over again, lol.

The premise of this story had potential to be super cute but the execution was just wow, SO bad. I am honestly shocked by the 4 and 5 star reviews. I know each to their own but there is SO much better out there.
There are spelling and grammar mistakes throughout the entire book. The whole story is very superficial with no character or world development. There were also very obvious holes and contradictions like how they had been talking for six months online, not knowing each other's real names but in their inner dialogues they referred to each other by their names...They also magically knew each other's names when they first met BEFORE introductions were made.
Things also just happened out of nowhere with a whole lot of telling rather than showing. Especially with the handcuff key situation, which was the whole reason for their 20 hour roadtrip but when they reach their destination, it is revealed to us that Felix actually found the key a whole day before, what? Also, we are randomly told that Felix is an Omega with no backstory on where that came from but it was needed to make his pregnancy "plausible"
I cannot recommend this, there was zero chemistry and I was just bored which was too bad because I am always excited for dragon babies.
Nope, not reading more of this.
P.S. This is the second book I have tried from this author and the other one was a generous two stars, I think I am done. She is just not a good fit for me.

Raoul, an alpha dragon shifter with a troubled past, is preparing for his new job as a Flight Trainer for Fire Wing Academy. His anxiety about gaining respect from other dragons is heightened when he accidentally sends his flight training plan, complete with pictures, to his online friend, omega Felix, whom he's been trying to arrange a date with. Instead of receiving a steamy response from Raoul, Felix now has proof of dragonkind. To fix his mistake, Raoul hopes to wipe Felix's memory, but when his magic fails, he and Felix embark on a road trip to see Raoul's brother, Hugo to help with the situation. Things heat up quickly between Raoul and Felix, which is only natural, when Hugo points out that Raoul and Felix are fated mates. Raoul and Felix are so lovely as they navigate their newfound connection, with humor, sweetness, and unexpected twists. Raoul's parents are so wonderful in the support they provide to Felix and Raoul, and their meggs, and how supportive the dragon community is too. Loved Raoul's hoard and Felix's min one. Hot and steamy MM fated mates human-dragon shifter omegaverse romance with a loving family and community, caring partners, and meggs.
A new twist on a human/dragon fated mate's story!!!
This is the second book I've read in the new multi-authored series, Love Sync Mates. This particular story is by Jena Wade, another one of my favorite authors. When I saw it pop up on Booksprout I grabbed it up to read/review. I know I'll always have a great read when Jena Wade is the author.
This book has a new twist, on a human mated to a dragon combination, that I've never seen before. If you want to know what I'm talking about, you'll have to read the book. No spoilers here!!!
These guys were perfect for each other except for the fact that one's a dragon and the others a human. They are really two peas in a pod. I wish this book had been longer there were so much more that could be done with it. I'd love to see this become its own new dragon series. There's a mention of commune leader Paul's twin brother that's mated to a dragon, Raoul's unmated older brothers that still need mates... I just wasn't ready to say goodbye.
Missed the mark. Just before they met Felix says Raoul by name then two pages later asks for his name as he doesn't know it, annoying but can get passed it. they drive 20 hours to get handcuffs removed? couldn't go back to own apartment for a spare key, or go to the friend who gave him the brilliant idea? okay guess that had to happen so they could have the one bed trope happen, pregnant human, hmm okay, pregnancy symptoms the next morning okay again guess that had to happen so the brother could inform them the next day, (short story and all). just didn't feel well thought out, just because its a short stories doesn't mean it needed to be rushed. Oh and dont get me started on the wings! extended life yes, or changed (bitten or ritual) yes but just sprouting wings? no. wanted more from this and it fell short of expectations
This book REALLY needed a good editor or proofreader. The outline of the story was there, and with good editing it could have been a good story. The plot was very disjointed and inconsistent. Sentences often ended in the middle of a thought or conversation, with zero explanation or follow up, along with misspellings and missing words. I don't know if this was supposed to be a YA novel? The writing felt very immature, like everything in the book was crammed onto the page in a very short time. I love dragon books and well written books with a good story. This book, for me, was none of the above. I did give it 3 stars because I felt that it could have been a good story.
Raoul did it again exposing dragons to the world, this time to Felix a man he is mailing with from a dating site. I understand he is panicked after that, but what he wanted to do trying more than once to get Felix his memory eresad. He kept on that path a bit to long for me.
But luckily Felix goes with his to his brother and his brother brings Raoul back to his senses. Especially because these two fit so lovely together. I like it how cool Felix stays under everything he discovers and what happens to him.
Raoul his hoard made me laugh, monopoly games, how cool is that. And wanting to help Felix start with an Uno hoard.
This was a super sweet, fluff, insta-love, funny and low angst read. Raoul did it again...this time he sent an email with his class flight training plans to Felix. Felix is a teacher and loves dragon so when he gets the email he isn't sure if its real or not. Raoul goes to meet Felix with the intention of casting a spell on Felix to make him forget about dragons and the email. Needless, to say the spell doesn't work, hand cuffed to each other, lost key means road trip and finding out that they are fated mates.
I loved that this romance kept me guessing and not entirely predictable til the very end. The buildup to Raoul and Felix first meet up and their whirlwind romance afterward was entertaining...definitely a page turner. All sorts of outcomes I wasn't ready for...I guess I was looking for some over the top drama and angst that wasn't there and it was refreshing to just enjoy the sweetness of Raoul and Felix. Lovely HEA...lovely romance.

I really enjoyed this start to the series. I love the idea of someone trying to make up for a youthful indiscretion but also trying to learn that he doesn’t have to be perfect. The cuteness between Felix and Raoul was top notch and I can’t wait to see a bit more of them in future. I do wish we’d gotten a bit more world building given it’s the start of the series. I’m hoping we’ll learn more in the second book because what we got so far was interesting. I’m definitely looking forward to what comes next!
I loved this book. Omg did I panic right alongside Raoul when he sent the wrong attachment to the wrong person! He was so nervous and there had already been an incident in the past and now this. It's anyone's nightmare and the damage and consequences could have been irreparable. But this is a wonderful romance and fate somehow works things out in the perfect way. I loved Felix. He was really sweet and his upbringing in a commune unexpected. Raoul's plan to fix his mistake didn't go according to plan...
I loved this story. I wish it could have gone on longer. It is a beautiful story between an alpha and an omega with mpreg and laying of eggs and just a great instalove story. Note to the author: I would love to see this in a series. Especially with his brother Hugo and maybe some other Dragon Friends. I really see this as a great series. I loved the laying of eggs and it would be great to read about the children growing up when they were little. Please consider it
This was ok. I liked that it was fast paced and very sweet. I didn't like all the typos and I wish some things could have been expanded on. There was almost zero world building and I didn't even know this was an alpha/omega world until the first love scene. I thought Felix was a human male and that was all. I'm not upset about that but just wasn't expecting it. I am not sure about reading any future books. There were really no side characters I was interested in for future books.
Alpha dragon Raoul, and omega Felix, met through online dating. Imagine their surprise when they discover something far more rewarding... eventually. They're mates!
The first attempt was a little off, but the rest of the 'getting to know you' worked out to be much smoother.
Really cute, sweet, humorous, and fun to see them expand their little family.

This very short novella (75 minutes) had the potential to be a cute story, but it really felt awkward and quite clunky to be honest. There was very little relationship building between the MCs; the reader is just told that they’re in love. Add to that the dozens of editing errors, and I’m not convinced that this book was ready to be published.
Raoul is a dragon that has been known to make some pretty dangerous mistakes. The mistakes being almost exposing Dragon kind to humans. Felix is a sweet lonely omega. They've been talking for several months. Not knowing that they were fated mates.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It was sweet how Raoul and Felix hook up through online dating only to discover they are mates. While the initial meeting is not smooth, they do find out they are very compatible. I like how instinctive Felix is about everything and that he keeps Raoul's confidence up.
It's been a while since I read this author so decided to give them another chance and it still just does not do it for me.
There was a scene where one MC said "I don't even know his name" and then in his head called him by name on the next page and the page after that he told the other MC that he didn't know his name. Lots of inconsistencies and just not great writing IMO.
This is a cute addition to this multi-author series. I enjoyed how Felix and Raoul's story was so sweet, fun and light-hearted. I was very entertaining to read.
I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion.
I really enjoyed this story. This was such a cute idea. I loved that something that could have gone so wrong instead was just so right. I love it when fated mates meet in different ways. This was a great story.
Reasonable world building for the length of the story. Good character development and an odd, but mostly simple, plot. Ends with a positive promise for the future.
An okay read if you are looking for low, low angst, simple, straightforward, and moving right from attraction to babies with little details. I did like this author's take on the human mate and what they evolve to.
Raoul has just made another big mistake. If he can just get Felix to his brother, maybe.he can fix this one! Enjoy the awkwardness, camaraderie and steamy passion of Raoul and Felix’s first “in person” get together!!!
