Cassio and Aine’s story was the most enjoyable one for me in this series up to now, and all aspects had a very nice balance!
Despite the repetitions, the story held my interest, it had romance, angst, manipulation, revelations, suspense, action and intrigue.
Looking forward for Alexei’s story.

Entertaining. Still a few things that stopped me from loving it and bit too slow at times.

Safety:

Virgin h/previous manh*e hero (this is off page)

25 h/40 H

Hero wasn't celibate after the first time meeting and had no reason to be (heroine was way too young for him to think of her that way). They see each other again when she is 23, he does oral on her, they don't see each other again for 2 years as it would have been unsafe for her, but he is celibate during that time period.

No ow drama/om-heroine had a bad ex that appears

No cheating/sharing

I have been obsessed with Eva Winners' Belles & Mobsters series from the very beginning. I love the friendship and comraderie among the men and love that while being so elusive and dangerous they would also do anything for their women!
Cassio and Áine were perfection. I loved the fiery chemistry they shared and how their past came full circle to their present!

Cassio and Áine were amazing. I loved how she made such a lasting impression on him through the history they shared. In addition, it was fantastic how Cassio was able to see Áine evolve from being a traumatized victim into a strong, assertive and dangerous woman!! Overall this was an amazing story to read. Now I can't wait for Luca and Alessio's story! 4 stars! ~Ratula

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trope: instalust
Angst: 😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

Nearly ten years ago Cassio and his brother rescued Áine Evans from his brother who is a human trafficker. Áine's amazing strength spoke to Cassio and helped reset the course of his life. When he bumps into her 8 years later, Cassio feels and overwhelming connection to Áine, who seemingly can't remember him, but feels an incredible pull to the devastatingly handsome man. When Cassio is denied by her father, he spends the next two years putting things in place to finally make his butterfly his own.

What an intense, emotional ride! For those familiar with Ms. Winner's writing, you'll find this installment of Belles and Mobsters to be a lot more gritty and graphic in nature than her regular writing, delving into descriptions of sexual assault, human trafficking, and torture. Cassio is well written and super fast paced gripping you right from the prologue and never letting up. Áine, because of her history, is not all soft edges. She swears like a sailor, can kick ass, and rescues trafficked victims in her spare time. Cassio is the hero we like to see. Possessive, protective, and supportive of his woman. I love that there really wasn't a huge amount of relationship drama, most of the conflict coming from outside their relationship. Definitely a nice break from the super angsty reads I've been reading recently, lol. I'm just enjoying this whole series so much! I know Alexei's story is next - which I'm super excited for, but there were enough breadcrumbs for me to be REALLY excited for Luca's story as well.

Cassio is the third book in the Belles and Mobster's series by Eva Winners. I *could* be read as a standalone, as Ms. Winners does a fantastic job of include any pertinent information needed from previous books, but it would definitely be best enjoyed read in series order. The story is told in first person, from dual perspective.

Okay so I've read the first book in the series and this is the third one. I had a feeling that I was going to love Aine and I'm glad I wasn't wrong because she was such a fiery, sassy and badass character! I loved her chemistry with Cassio and their story was just unique and amazing! They met when she was fourteen and he had rescued her from the place she was held captive. Fast-forward eleven years later, Aine has no recollection of his memories and he's back in her life, only this time to make a deal with her stepfather in exchange of a marriage but she's unaware of his plans.
The plot was interesting with well rounded characters. I like that these anti-heroes have formed their own little tightly knit group and now their wives are a part of it too. Overall, the book had just the right amount of action, suspense, some mild twists and a great power couple. Aine especially impressed me a lot. She was no damsel in distress and didn't need a prince charming to get her out of dangerous situations. Cassio knew her very well and wanted nothing but to keep her safe and by his side. He never underestimated her and was always willing to do anything she asked for. I loved them together! I'm definitely looking forward to read Alexei & Aurora's book after that little excerpt, can't wait till it comes out!

***4,5 "My perfect stranger!!!" stars***

!NOW AVAILABLE!

"I'll cheat, steal, and kill as long as she becomes mine at the end of it all.""

I adore this world that Mrs. Winters has created in here!!!!
Hotheaded mobsters whom are living to protect and Belles that are anything but damsels in distress!!!
Yes please!!! This world is very evil but its heroes are dreamlike!!!!
Cassio King's turn had come to find his match and what a woman he had found!!!
Eva Winners is pulling me under her spell every time and she is making me craving more and more of these characters!!!

"Didn't I tell you redheads are trouble, Cassio?"

Áine Evans is a woman with many secrets, even though her young age!!! Her memories are existing in the midst of a fog, and her dreams are filled with nightmares!!! Her only calmness in her phych's storm is the hand of a man with a rose tattoo...
Áine is not a woman that would avoid to take action!!!! She is fighting very hard for women's freedom and she is not stopping to anything in order to succeed!!!
She knows that the biggest threat is the Kings and she is determined to avenge every woman that had suffered in their hands.

"The King family had to be stopped."

Cassio King hates his name... He and his brother are Benito King's bastard kids... They have built their own empire and along with their friends, they are making plans to clean this world by the dirt that his father and brother are creating...
A red haired girl was the cause of his determination!!! And even though the years had passed, he never forgot her....
Imagine his surprise when he is seeing her for once again and imagine his determination to have her by his side no matter what or how!!!

"Suddenly I realized... My whole life, all the shitty years, they were all worth it because they led me to her."

Áine and Cassio were pure fire together!!!
I loved their story... It was kind of complicated, but it left me wishing for more!!!!
Their chemistry was out of charts and they were completing each other...
Cassio was very protective of his little butterfly and he wouldn't stop to nothing in order to make her his....
Áine was a very strong woman... Cassio was carrying a hateful name, but he was proving her all the time that he was anything than the rest of the Kings...
Can these two defy the odds and create a life together???

"You might have won the battle, Cassio King," I warned him. "But I'll win the war."

I am enamored with this world and its characters...
I just need more and more...
Eva Winners has created a magnificent world and she never ceases to amaze me with each new addition in the series!!!!
Honestly, I can not wait for the fourth book!!! I am so curious about Alexei...

"This woman was mine. Anyone who threatened her, threatened me. Anyone who touched her, touched me. And I didn't take kindly to people touching what was mine."

“Cassio” is the story of Aine and Cassio.

The heroine and hero first meet when he rescues her from a kidnapping.
Years pass- she forgets while he remembers.
They meet again, have an almost illicit night, and we move forward another two years.

This time, the hero is obsessed and has been meticulously planning to make the heroine his. The heroine on the other hand is moonlighting as an architect, while rescuing smuggled girls with her team. Their chemistry is undeniable, loads of secrets are unveiled and we get a lovely happy ending.

Both were extremely likable and I appreciated how the heroine was not a damsel and badass, despite her past. Also glad that the climactic fight was won by the heroine and the hero didn’t have to swoop in to rescue her.

Only one art but it was beautiful.

Safe for me

PERFORMANCE REVIEW & RATING: 4.5 Stars

I like this word that Eva has created, and I’ve enjoyed listening to it. I didn’t get an opportunity to read this series when it released last year (2022) so I can’t say for sure which format is best and whatnot, but I can say that both narrators, Penelope Ann Rose & Karl Michaels, did an exceptional job bringing this story to life for me. They are both new-to-me narrators and I’ll be looking for more of their work in the future!

STORY REVIEW & RATING: 4.5 Stars

Cassio is the third book of the Belles and Mobsters Series. The story focuses on Cassio King and Aine Callahan. The stories in this series can technically be read as standalones, but not really LOL I know, I know … I always say that but, in my defense, I’ve honestly never come across a series of this nature that doesn’t have interconnected characters and/or a story arc, which really makes them not standalone. To each their own and all that, so you do you :)

Eva Winners created two characters in Cassio and Aine that suited each other perfectly. She didn’t miss a beat with either one of them. She developed them perfectly and created them as if they were two sides of one coin. They lifted each other up and were exactly what each needed to get thru this thing called life *wink* feel me? I loved how Aine grew into herself out of the ashes of her past and forged thru head-on into her future. She was magnificent. AN obviously, Cassio wasn’t too bad himself LOL

The story was fast paced with twists, suspense, action, angst, revenge, and violence. Those are attributes you’d normally find in a mobster world, so no surprise there. It’s a dark, age-gap, mafia romance, and as such, readers should heed the trigger warnings. I found this story to be more trigger-y than the previous story and I rarely even notice such a thing so do with that little tidbit as you will.

3/5🌶

Me entretuvo.
Esa parte no me gustó nada.

No me juzguen.

Áine and Cassio

Star rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice rating 🌶🌶🌶

🌹Age gap 40 /25
🌹Dark mafia
🌹Jealous possessive hero
🌹Forbidden
🌹Minor OW drama - secretary made eyes at him and he told her to stay out of his personal space .
🌹H puts a tracker in her ring
🌹TW lots of mentions of human trafficking but H fights to save women

Cassio is one of the guys who are mafia but have made lifetime friendships with the other members of the group. They are mafia with a moral compass . They do all of the illegal criminal activities that the mafia is usually involved in but also save women from trafficking. They respect and protect women and children which I love but they also still k!ll the bad guys.

Áine was a 14 year old girl that he saved from traffickers 9 years ago. When she waltzed into his club like she owned it as a gorgeous grown woman he remembers her but she doesn’t remember him. She’s the reason he rescues trafficking victims. She’s his reason he keeps going when he’s tired.

Áine has a lot of bravado but she’s actually mentally scarred from her experience with the human traffickers. She’s never been able to get close to man or let one touch her without having panic filled terror. When she meets Cassio in his club the first time she doesn’t get that feeling from his touch. They are drawn to one another like a magnet. She always assumed she was broken. She still doesn’t know she’s met him before or that he was the one who saved her as a child.

Secrets and lies are exposed . Betrayals and mistakes come to light. This one was a bit disjointed and I still loved the story but didn’t get as into it as previous installments of the series. The pace was slower than the other books in the series as well.

Áine really annoyed me most of this book. No matter who told her Luca and Cassio didn’t traffick women or support traffickers she still didn’t believe him and would have a sarcastic attitude throwing it in his face that his father and half brother were traffickers . Even her own father told her and she still made snide remarks and was disgusted and wanted to take out all of the Kings. If they had that last name she thought they needed to be unalived. It was annoying to say the least. That’s also why she’s my least favorite of the heroines in this series. She was also very oblivious and naive.

This was still a great book and I loved seeing the other characters from the series. It wasn’t my favorite but still a good read. I am excited to find out what happens to the rest of the crew so I will soon dive right into the next book in the series!

★4.5 fiery stars★

A new adrenaline filled adventure in the Belles and Mobsters world. Ms Winters paints Cassio’s story with a darker shade, giving this tale the perfect eerie vibe.

~𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒔𝒂𝒚 𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒐𝒇𝒕 𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰'𝒅 𝒃𝒖𝒓𝒏 𝒄𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒓~

Áine is a young woman scarred by a tragic past. Her coping mechanism has removed painful memories but the drags of what she went through are still alive and only visible in her nightmares. Amidst the fog that claims her at night a hand reaches out to her, a mysterious touch scattered with rose petals. Is the person trying to help her friend or foe?

Áine has one mission in life: eradicate all people dealing in human flesh, among all the vile creatures one name stands out: King. The family that started it all, a name Áine is determined to extinguish. Shame that the only man capable of making her feel something bears a name so hostile, Áine struggles to accept that her sworn enemy may also be her saviour.

~𝑰'𝒍𝒍 𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒕, 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒍, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒂𝒔 𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒔 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝒊𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒍~

Cassio is a King and yet if he could he would renounce his name. Make no mistake, he isn’t all rainbow and sunshine, but he picks his battle carefully, together with his loyal friends he’s set on eliminating human trafficking. In his mission to eradicate evil he stumbles upon a red headed jewel. He will never forget her, the images of those days haunting him relentlessly. He must have her, there is one minor glitch in his perfectly concocted plan, the lady in question isn’t a damsel in distress.

~"𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒎𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆, 𝑪𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐 𝑲𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝑰'𝒍𝒍 𝒘𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒓~

Besides she might just hate his name and everything it stands for… brace yourself for a very explosive match. These two surely know how to get the fireworks going, both in the bedroom and outside!

~𝑯𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒕𝒚 𝒘𝒓𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒐𝒏𝒆~

I enjoyed meeting another formidable, brave woman, I like how Ms Winters came up with this idea of vigilantes group dedicated to such a noble cause, I could only wish these people were real. I appreciate how throughout the stories the mafia world is just the background, I liked how the author didn’t fill the pages with stereotypes and cringe worthy fantasy tales. That said, I smiled when I read about all these capi famiglia mafiosi who look more like Santas than what a capo looks like in real life. But I’m too fond of this world to get upset over such liberty 💕

I look forward to the next chapter in this series Alexei I’m so ready for you 🔥🔥🔥

Aye, so this is on me. The first book in this series was absolute trash imo. But because I read this authors newest series I had hope some of her older books, which are heavily intertwined with every other book, would be interesting. However, I see now that while yes this authors writing has improved enough (or got a better editor) to make her new series readable her older books are just that, quite unreadable. Atleast for me. Although I'm a glutton for pain so I'll probably attempt a couple more tries at some older books but otherwise I'm gonna stick to their newer work because big yikes, y'all.

Now, regarding this book in particular...well, the blurb sounded interesting. I figured let's give it a shot, because nothing could be more stupid or as bad as Lucianos book, right? 😂

So, the opening chapters were a little fascinating. We flashback to nine years ago, and Luca and Cassio are on a rescue mission and I like a good rescue y'all. It obviously showed Cassio and his brother Luca in a favorable light as well. However, the longer it went on and the more we drown in more and more details about this dad, their dad's flesh trading, blah blah blah...well I began to skim. And that was just the prologue!

But then he finds the young girl he was sent there to rescue, and oh man. I was not feeling it, y'all. I could tell the author put alot of effort into making this grown ass man (30 years old I think?) somehow appear taken by this fourteen year old girl from the moment their eyes met but like...nah, nuh uh. Pass. Hard pass. It felt so wrong. Like, sure there's nothing overtly sexual mentioned or alluded too even but the vibes were off. Way off. Especially because I already knew this dude would become obsessed with her, so the ick was icking. And he was so distracted by this girl and her injuries that he didn't even consider checking her shoulder for the butterfly birthmark he was told would identify her as the girl they were sent to rescue until he was holding her in his lap on the damn helicopter! Like...what? 🙈🙃

And then we jump nine years later, and eventually Cassio goes to his club with his other old guy friends (just kidding but like...why y'all in a club if y'all think you're too old for it orrr) and miraculously he runs into a red headed bombshell with curves for days dressed as Wonder Woman. And then their eyes meet and he just knew it was her because he'd never forget those blue eyes, they belonged to the girl he saved, but now she was all grown up and no longer a girl but a woman with curves. And yada yada yada she's the most gorgeous woman he's ever seen (🙄) and he can't believe the odds he'd meet her again in his own club no less. He goes on about how great she seems, that her kidnapping didn't leave lasting scars because she showed some sass and fire during their interaction. Hah, yeah because you can learn so much from a five minute interaction but sure! Whatever.

Anyway, as dumb as that whole setup was it wasn't what made me want to quit. No, what had the honor of making me tap out was getting into the FMC Áine's POV for the first time. 😩 It was bad. So bad! I mean, how many times did she have to tell us that she couldn't stand being touched by any men, continue to reminisce about her poor dating/non-existent sex life while also telling us how different the MMC was. How she felt such a strong attraction to him, unlike anything she'd ever felt before and even details some ridiculously juvenile reactions about her pussy and wanting rough sex with him despite being a virgin. I'm telling y'all, it was just stupid and obnoxious as hell. Completely unnecessary shit imo. Who even thinks about a stranger like that upon first meeting them, seriously?!

So the MMC is her unicorn. God for her I guess. She can't remember him but he seems so familiar! And after their first meeting all she can do is look for him across the dance floor and gush about her sexual fantasies for this stranger while also reminding us she hates being touched by men and has panic attacks when it does happen. But wait a damn minute, here comes the MMC behind her, grinding on her and holding her close to his body. She waits for her panic attack to begin like it always does but ohmygod there's no panic and she immediately decides to embrace this for as long as it lasts. And they begin making out on the dance floor.

UGH

Of course, of course! The MMC is the only one by some miracle that doesn't cause her panic attacks or that she's so in lust with that she can withstand being touched by. 🤣 I guess he won't have to be jealous thinking she'll cheat on him, right? 🙄

Oh! And because of the special butterfly birthmark the FMC has on her shoulder can you guess what the MMC decides to call her? Can you? That's right, he calls her Butterfly. Points for the MMC for using exactly one braincell to come up with that nickname all by himself! 👏🏻

Anyway, here are a few lines that just further cemented my decision to quit while I was ahead. Courtesy of the annoying FMC:

I left the dark Adonis with my hand in Margaret’s to grab some alcohol. For the first time in my life, I fought the urge to rip a man’s clothes off and have sweaty, rough sex. I haven’t even started drinking. Even more disturbing, I never wanted to have sex. Never have had sex. It usually brought out the most unflattering panic attacks, cold sweats and an instant, painfully racing heart.

My pussy wanted him. Oh, my freaking God! There was something in my brain that chanted mine, mine, mine on repeat.

Oh my gosh, my panties were on fire.

Cassio (Belles & Mobsters) by Eva Winners

This is the 3rd book from The Belles and Mobsters series and it’s Cassio King and Aine Evans story.

They served age gap, arranged marriage and this book is dark, gritty and gory. Before reading this book, though not necessary, May I suggest you read books 1 and 2, to properly navigate the plot line of the series. From the previous books our Mobsters found their Belles that became their wives, happily married and popping children but the threat is still looming unless they take out the villain. Cassio is determined to take out the threat but it’s not easy, he plans everything with the help of his brother.

A dire incident from nine years ago led him to know Aine Evans. Cassio was asked to rescue her because she was abducted. They met again after almost a decade and she wasn’t aware of him but his touches are a sure reminder of a past she would like to uncover. Cassio was sure Aine was the one, their brief encounter led to another but then as a patient man he needed to plan and set everything in motion for him to finally be with her.

This is such a dark book, the descriptions of such events are kind of hard to imagine. Cassio is a different hero among the other two previous Mobsters, he has his own charm. I love Aine, she was a badass go getter! The last parts I applauded her bravery and I am sure Cassio has a hard on seeing her in action.

The crumbs from the other Mobsters and the belles are delicious, I just love when they’re in the scene, they are such a family. I cannot wait to know about Luca and Margaret’s baby daddy and I think I need to get to know Alexei too!

Thanks Miss Eva Winners for this addicting series.

Another great book by Eva Winners. This one played on my mind since I started reading it. Life got in the way so had to stop reading. It was all i could think about lol. Her plots really do capture you and take you do another world.

The story is a little bit of a slow burn imo. Cassio and Aine story doesn't really start until around 30%. They cross paths at the beginning but that's it. There a lot of back story and information building to get them together. I love all the details and it definitely made me want to keep reading.

5 star for plot and mafia side.
4 star for the book overall. The reason are I didn't connect with the main characters as much as I liked. I need a bit more chemistry and bit more of the sexual side of things. it is there but I need a little bit more. Other than that I loved this story. Eva writes amazing mafia. The details that goes into this world in so impressive.

I only read about 50% of the book. It was boring. I didn’t like Aine. The whole thing about her being in missions and rescuing victims just felt so unrealistic. I didn’t like Cassio either. Didn’t feel any chemistry between them. It had a good start but just went sideways.
