Soon after arriving in Paris in 1963, Nfudu launches a heart-rending secret affair with her best friend’s attractive father – Javier, but her father rejects him because of his race. When she meets Ikechi – a striking financier, in London, Nfudu’s bond with Javier is tested. Ikechi seems like the perfect match, but a grim revelation about his ‘caste’ forces Nfudu’s father to defend his honor. Torn between her insatiable love for Javier and burning desire for Ikechi, Nfudu takes matters into her own hands. Her actions send her down a slippery slope that threatens not only her own existence but also that of those closest to her.
Suspenseful and riveting, Nfudu is the story of a young woman during one of the most perilous times in history. It intricately weaves plots of love, war, crime, hatred, ancient taboos, and a clash of civilizations then merges these into one powerful story.

Nfudu is a masterpiece. Been years I picked a book to read but when I started ,dropping it was only to sleep or work . The details were very captivating especially of Paris. Reminded me of the visit I made last year. A surprising twist to this beautiful love affair that was unexpected . Look forward to the second part of the story. Great job !!
The work is a masterpiece. The story flowed like a river and made a very interesting reading. It was impossible to put down to do other things until one has completed reading. I fell in love with the characters. The book is about Nfudu - a young woman who moves to Paris in the early sixties to start a career in fashion. I don't want to give anything away, but she falls in love with her best friends father - Javier. Later when she meets Ikechi she gets embroiled in a love triangle. However, the love triangle was not the focus of the story even though it was masterfully woven in to create a heart-tugging tale. The book takes you on a ride as it draws attention to many important issues - class, culture, war, race, crime, sexuality, taboos. It leaves you at the edge of your seat. When it ended, I wished it could continue.
Nfudu presents a ‘Fashionistas’ perspective of life in Europe in the sixties and early seventies. A ménage of sorts with a strong moral component, it is written in simple and eloquent English. Each page was unpredictable with plot twist and turns. The novel made some strong political statements that ordinarily would have reduced the enjoyment of the story for me. Not this one. I got an appreciation of the message being delivered, while still enjoying the story that was embedded in the message. Looking forward to more from this author. Z
I loved the narration of Heather Masters, perfect for this book.

This book has such in it, we have issues with, - class, culture, war, race, crime, sexuality, taboos. It leaves you at the edge of your seat.
A delicious read. The story is woven into facets that you don't anticipate. Love, mystery, danger & anticipation...it's all there. Dare I say, there's a semblance of Nfudu in each of us.
