My name is Cecilia Murray, and I have always strived to be the perfect daughter, the best in the class, and kind to everyone. I tried hard to maintain the image of the good girl the Murrays needed me to be. I lived the typical life of a New York girl who grew up among one of the wealthiest families in the state until the day I was sold.
Exactly what you heard.
My father sold me to the Cartel to pay off his gambling debt, and then I became James Riviera’s, one of their leaders,
new pet. Everything seemed hopeless when a mysterious boy took me out of the Cartel's clutches. The boy? Connor Ross. The future Prez of a biker gang called Evermore. Connor is brutal and doesn't believe in love, but he needs a bride. With the promise of helping me find my sister and take revenge on my father, we made a marriage agreement.
I'm the broken princess, and he's the biker prince. We have nothing to offer each other besides our mutual desire for revenge.
A book lover who is obsessed with broken and morally gray characters. Chaos is my go-to when writing or building characters who are completely obsessed with their significant others.
I am currently launching my first series, Evermore, which is a mix of mafia, bikers, and a touch of darkness to soothe the hearts of those drawn to the darker side of books.
2.5 ★ This was a short and fast read, even though it was short it didn't feel rushed. The idea and plot was fine. The plot twist(S) at the end were even good and I was not expecting some of them 😳
I felt really bad for all the stuff Cecilie went thought at the start of the book, only for more to happen at the end too 😭 The last chapter made me happy to know she had her own little family with Connor. I liked many side characters and I know most of them are going to get books so I'm looking forward to them! With this book there was things that I personally didn't like. The way Connor was talking during smut wasn’t it at all. The bar bathroom sex with the random girl…? The names he was calling her too? I get it; he was single but I don't see the reason why we needed to see that whole scene 😭 Also the bar kiss between Cecilie and Seth…? I was actually speechless. I get that he wanted to get a reaction out of Connor, but having her sit on his lap and kiss her which she was saying “his lips are so soft that I can’t help but kiss him back" like HUH? and you’d think she knew why Seth did it and that’s why she kissed him back but NO after it was over; Connor started to man up and take her away she saw Seth’s face and went “OH SO HE DID IT FOR REACTION” I mean why else? 💀
I'm actually looking forward too Julie and Trevor’s book based on what we saw so far and plus I loved her brother Pietro 🤭 This one wasn't for me, but overall the plot of the series is interesting and the ending of Cecilie's sister got me curious and wondering where she was and why they couldn't find her after all these years of her missing!
i enjoyed reading the book and all the character connections (even tho i started to get confused who hooked up with who💀) but i need to say some parts just weren’t for me for example how cecilia got over all the stuff that happened to her throughout the book (especially at the end) but nonetheless i‘m still glad they found their hea and i‘m excited to read the next one!🫶🏼
"The darkness we share, it's the love that makes us one."
First of all: there's a lot of potential in this series, but the first book is always the bad one so I'll read the next books with an open mind.
So.. Ceci just turns 18 and is kidnapped, then discovers her shit of a father sold her to pay his gambling debts and let her be abused until a stranger the girl met at the club saves her and he's Connor, from the rival motorcycle club. they have to fake being engaged and all kinds of drama happen while the girl's sister is missing and let me state the first fact:
Seemed to me like Cecilia didn't even care that much about her sister because how do you keep living your life knowing your younger sis is somewhere needing help?? It doesn't sit right with me, it doesn't matter how worried the writer made her feel sometimes, it isn't enough, if that was my sister I'd lose my sanity in a few days and the girl still manages to live normally?? No.7
Also: the baby plot is awful, I hate it. And I hate it even more when the girl loses the baby.. ugh why the you write the baby in the first place? it was already a shit story without that.
The only time Cecília served something was when she stabbed James.
I liked this for the secondary characters and potential for the next books, but ConnorCeci's romance is so boring, the smut wasn't smutting because I just read the same cringe quotes a thousand times. However, I'm so interested in the Barrones mafia family and the next books will deliver what this one couldn't.
I'm just here hoping for PietroLaura, TrevorJulie, and SethAudrey's books because I know they will SERVE.
“I don't want to fix your broken parts. I just want to fuck them right out of you.”
I just want to start by saying that Connor is a great antihero who will whisper in our ears when we grow up, he grabbed Cecily at her worst moment and chose her every moment, I certainly liked his personality growth, and I was eager for more of him and I'm going to keep it him in my heart. He is my consumer desire.
"I saw her darkness yesterday. She is as broken as I am. As thirsty for revenge as I am."
I read this book so quickly and I blame Juv's writing, I was always drawn in for more, I wanted to read more about him, and I wanted more scenes from the novel. I always wanted a character who didn't fall in love first, I wanted a man to fight for his love but that's in a dark book, Juv gave me that in this book, I can say that this was the best book this year.
Okay Connor is the definition of OTTH and I loved it. Hear me out. Fake dating with lots of jealousy scenes and equally possessive hero and bad ass you don’t own me heroine. This book is 🔥🔥I was hooked from the very begging. If you like dark romance books then this one is a excellent recommendation.
But don’t forget to check the TW befor reading it.
Connor and Cecilia are the first book from Juv and I already love it. I can’t wait to read the next on this series.
“The darkness we share, it's the love that makes us one. Maybe we're wrong for each other, or perhaps we're right. I don't care.”
I'm totally in abstinence from Cecilia and Connor and it's your fault Juv!!
I want to start by highlighting that it is Juv's first publication and my first contact with her writing, and the way she writes is light and distributed, so fluid that you end up devouring the book without realizing it.
the circle of friends (bonds) is so well built that you keep wanting more from each of them, now about Cecilia Murray, an incredible girl who has been through horrible traumas and seeks revenge, her soul is terrified and she is broken, she is definitely a princess, a strong and fearless girl, and that character that makes you take your breath away, As for Connor, I have no words for the typical dark romance prince that we love, everything about him screams HOT, I fell in love with him every line I read
Cecily and Connor are souls who share the same darkness and thirst for revenge and little by little they build a beautiful connection, I loved this read ❤️
Thanks to @authorjuvmartinez for reaching out and sending me the ARC of her book.
Connor Ross has one word on his mind after losing the love of his life: REVENGE.
While plotting the revenge against James, he comes across Cecilia Murray.
Cecilia Murray who was sold to James to pay her father’s debt.
Connor and Cecilia share the darkness.
I loved their story, they’re perfect for each other.
I gave this book 4 star and not 5 only because at a certain point I thought their relationship was developing too fast, but I still loved them and the book.
the book itself was a little too fast paced for me but it makes sense considering it’s like 200ish pages. I loved all the characters, Connor And Cecilia were so cute, got secondhand embarrassment a few times. who I’m excited for is Julie/Giulia. her and Trevor seem SAUR FINE, and Seth js stuck w me idk.
This story was so chaotic and crazy which is exactly what I enjoyed about it. Connor and Ceci were cute and had so much chemistry. I loved seeing the bloodthirsty side of an innocent little girl like ceci lol.
It was a very quick and simple read but to my pleasant surprise, both the writing and the plot got better towards the end.The only thing I had trouble with is the less descriptive and fast paced writing. But since this is a debut novel I wish all the best to the author and hope to see more in the future.
There's so much potential with this world building and characters I definitely look forward to reading the rest of this series.
────────────── ❝ Commentary ❞ CECILIA MURRAY ⁀➷ I liked Cecilia cause she was murderous and not a doormat but I don't know why she and I just didn't click like that. Don't get me wrong, I love asylum-worthy princesses but she's not one of my faves. I was so looking forward to another platinum blonde Cecy in my repertoire but unfortunately I will not be claiming.
CONNOR ROSS ⁀➷ Ew.
EXPERIENCE ⁀➷ I can’t stand the amount of grammatical errors this book had. It was enough to make me almost DNF but I had to power through the boring plot, underdeveloped writing, and cringe-worthy nicknames just to see if there was anything redeeming about the book. Reading the book made me feel like I had a chip in my brain that scrambled my comprehensive skills. Whatever the fuck they were saying, who knows. My final conclusion: there is nothing that I took from that book except for Cecilia’s insanity and murderous tendencies during dissociative episodes, Cecilia and Connor were both emo lovers who refused to love, both consumed by darkness, and I want Seth's book bad. I think he was probably my favorite out of the entire group so far.
────────────── ❝ My Favorite Quotes ❞ Seth ⁀➷ G: “Lie all you want, your backstabber. You know I’m better than this rich skank. I’m hotter, too, admit it. Aren’t I?” She asks. S: “No,” he responds without hesitation. “In fact, not even ten of you would make a Cecilia, Gia, and you know it, which is why you act like an insecure slob.” Seth ⁀➷ “I find it rather fascinating how you seamlessly switch between two personas, Gia – the sweet girl and the aggressive one. It takes a true weirdo to spot a kindred spirit," Seth remarks, his tone taking on an eerie calmness. "But I wouldn't dare equate myself to you; my cognitive functions are meticulously aligned, and my self-esteem is firmly intact.” Seth ⁀➷ G: “Did you work to get that ugly, or were you given that too? Spoiled brat,” she curses, and a voice behind me laughs. S: "Ugly?" Seth approaches, placing his hand on my shoulders. G: “She is.” She asserts, “An ugly bitch, and no money in the world will change that.” S: "I’m sorry. I’m suddenly lost. Are you describing Cecilia or you?”

I never wrote a review, but as this is a book by a new author who seriously did so much good work, and i felt like writing a review was mandatory.
First of all, the world building, settings and vibes. Amazing. I felt the connection to the world from the very first chapters and i knew i was gonna absolutely adore the book, and everything about it. As a bikers/bikes' enthusiast, it was on point and i felt myself falling for the boys, the whole Evermore club's dynamite and the perfect vibes who brought the fangirl in me to giggle and jump nonstop.
Then, the main characters. Cecilia Murray, you will always be loved by me. The whole character development, her personality, style and mindset amazed me, and left me wondering about myself many times during my reading journey. She was indeed one of the best female characters i've ever encountered and i'll always cherish her in a part of my heart. Everything she did and her efforts for her sister will always be so admirable, and she's been an inspiring character. And part of me wants to be her. Connor Ross. The perfect dark bad biker boy. He was such a fictional character, i was drooling by the time i got to first see his appearance in the book. The way he was so considerate and soft with her, comforted her and was always there for her from the very first will always make me soft and smile like a mad woman. It's always something i wanna see in book boys, and seeing it in him warmed my heart.
The found family in this book? On point. I ADORED it. It made me melt and soften for every single character so easily. The friendships, the relationships developing, and everyone being there for each other were all perfect. And as someone who desperately NEEDS found family in a book series most of the time, i was so glad I got to experience the feeling of it in this one.
The plot and events of this books were INCREDIBLE. I was hooked through every chapter of the book and i felt myself immerse and fall into the world completely of how good it was all plotted. The plot twists and the end? Left me speechless and shocked be to the core. I can say i didnt say most of it coming and it always has been the way I loved it.
Overall, this book has been such a wonderful reading experience. Connorceci and their relationship, love and respect will always hold a special place in my mind, and I'll be thinking about them, most characters and this world for a very long time. Hoping to be able to read the next books very soon🤍.
Cecilia Murray is the definition of a good girl but that’s who she has to be to protect herself when her father is a raging gambling addict who doesn’t care about his two daughters. On her 18th birthday she decides to break one of her fathers rules to celebrate with her best friend at a club but that quickly turns out to be a huge mistake when she wakes up bound and drugged in the backseat of a stranger’s car. Nine days of consistent abuse and torture later she is rescued by the boy she briefly met at the club on her birthday and that’s where she starts her plan for revenge.
The start of this book was a bit fast for me i was confused a lot of times and i struggled but admittedly it got better going forward I can’t believe how much I enjoyed it. I liked watching Cecilia’s transition, it was satisfying when she got out of the box she was in to be her own person and embrace all that came with it.
She experienced something incredibly disturbing but she came out stronger and ten times better and I liked that no one dismissed what she went through. Connor undoubtedly was an important part of her journey to her healing, self awareness and acceptance of who she is and who she has become.
He helped her explore parts of herself she believed did not exist anymore after what happened and made her embrace them without shame or judgement. I do understand her dilemma when Connors blast from the past appeared in the picture but I honestly hoped she could have been a bit more understanding but I don’t fault her for that as i said earlier.
Her life recently was not what it used to be, she was still figuring things out slowly but surely. I Loved her interactions with other characters as well especially Seth in fact I loved everything that involved him. He is another part I want to get to know more of, i hope we will in the next book.
"I love you, Connor Ross, because you made it easy to love you. I love you, in the light and in the darkness."

♡ Thoughts
Cecilia Murray, a girl from a wealthy New York family, always tried to be perfect and kind. Her life changed when her father sold her to the Cartel to settle a gambling debt. She became James Riviera's pet. But a boy named Connor Ross, a future biker gang leader, saved her. They made a marriage agreement to seek revenge on their enemies, even though they're very different. Cecilia is a broken princess, and Connor is a biker prince, and they share a common desire for revenge.
Cecily started as a "good girl" but had a tough time when she was sold to the Cartel. Even though this was really hard for her, she stayed strong. After going through all the tough stuff, she managed to become a strong woman. Her transition from being timid to being her own person was really amazing. She showed how resilient and determined she could be, and her story is all about finding herself and growing stronger after facing big challenges.
Connor is a unique anti-hero who steps in when Cecily is in her toughest spots, offering crucial support and protection. He undergoes significant character growth, evolving from a tough biker into a compassionate figure, especially as he grows closer to Cecily. What's notable is his non-judgmental acceptance of Cecily, embracing her without any shame and creating a safe haven for her to heal. Connor is an essential part of Cecily's healing journey, helping her come to terms with her past and accept herself. He boosts her self-esteem and purpose as they seek revenge together, making him a vital and transformational character in her story of healing and self-acceptance.
My only criticism would be about the pacing of the book and the inclusion of interpersonal drama among other women in the story. However, it's worth mentioning that these criticisms are subjective and do not overshadow the fact that the book remains a compelling and powerful read.
Thank you so much Author Juv Martinez for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I completely went into this without any expectations, and this one hit so fucking good. Each and every bit of it was interesting, the writing was pretty good (excluding some of the editing errors). It kept me reading because the characters in it were so interesting, we got a hint in the book about the other characters that they definitely have some secrets which may they disclose in their books (obviously) The plots were too good, and the chemistry between the characters was noticeable. Connor was already an Obsessed lover boy, he was so pookie,I love him 😭🤚🏼 p.s. he's a biker 🗣️🗣️ And Cecilia, damn, she was so... umm idk how to explain but I love adored her vibes so much. I like fmcs who kills with a maniac smile, she's one of them😋🫶🏼 And the side characters? I liked Seth, and pls the way Audrey would react around Taylor 😭 it was funny, I mean I get her lol but still. Plus, what is it between Julie and Trevor? I'm so excited to find out in the next book, and Laura omg what happened to her? I'm definitely reading the next books🤭
This was the dark, and gritty, filled with revenge story of Cecilia Murray, who always was trying to maintain the the image of the good girl, and the perfect daughter. Until the day she was sold by her father, to the people he was held gambling debt. But ,when she little expected, and was losing hope to be saved,a mystery man rescued her from the hands of the Cartel's clutches.
Connor Ross is deadly. He is also the future Prez of a biker gang called Evermore. He is brutal and doesn't believe in love, but he needs a bride, and she is the perfect match for him.
Definitely this book hase amazing storyline, the characters Connor and Cecile was hot with strong chemistry between them. In some part in the beginning hase little to much repetiv word, that didn't make send, but overall all was great. Unfortunately I'm giving 4⭐️ only because in 20%in the book hase scene with ow and this is BIG NO FOR ME.

“Never one without another,” “Never one without another,” . I have no words for describing what I just read. this author deserves so much more love. once you read the first chapter, it’s impossible to put down the book. I fell in love with Cecilia and Connor but also with Seth, Harvin, Kyle, Taylor, Abby, Giulia, Trevor, Laura and Pietro and most of all : the Evermore. this family is so incredible. the storyline is dark, so check the TW first. but seriously if you want the good girl turn into the badass grumpy bitch one ? read this book. I fell in love with this universe, and I can tell you it became one of my favorite universe for the dark romance. The plot-line don’t stop at the first book oh no.. the cliffhanger at the end ? kill me now no ? The relationship between all of the characters are perfects, chaotic sometimes but they could die for each other. literally. this review is messy but go read it.
I stumbled upon this book on Instagram and was instantly captivated by the characters! The ending felt a bit messy, but overall, it was a good read.
As a lover of dark romance, I have to mention that this book comes with quite a few triggers, so make sure to check the content warnings before diving in.
Connor’s possessiveness was something else—his jealousy was palpable, and his obsession with his princess was both intense and endearing.
Cecelia, on the other hand, is a force to be reckoned with. She doesn’t let anyone walk all over her, and I admired how Connor supported her through everything.
The suspense surrounding the other couples is killing me! I’m waiting to see what happens next. You really need to read the books in order to fully grasp the story, so don’t skip any!
One of my favorite characters is Seth. He’s completely unhinged, and I absolutely love him. I can’t wait for his book!
I don't even know what to say, but this book is supposed to get you out of a hangover if that's what you're looking for in romance.
He doesn't take himself seriously at times, like things don't make much sense
However, the characters! I say all the ones presented are captivating. It makes me think a little further and say that if this book was just about bikers vs. Cartel without the whole DR plot would be better. The dark romance was included more to shock than to complement.
However, because I like the characters and want a book for Seth and Pietro, I will read it depending on what is released.
I so hope this series' case is just a weird first book. And a good sequence.
The Darkness We Share is the 1st book in a new Evermore series. This is a dark romance so make sure you check the trigger warnings before reading. Cecelia and Conner are complete opposites, living very different lifestyles however they share a similar darkness. There is banter, heartbreak, anger, vengeance and plenty of spice. Great story line however the ending felt extremely rushed and skipped around a bit. Looking forward to the 2nd book.
