3.5 stars.

"That's the difference between me and you. Because you would rather die than be with me, and I would rather die than be without you."

This book was so much better than the first and I think that's because the mafia world is more explored. TrevorJulie is an amazing ship, for me, it's always better when the couple happens in a slow burn and these two were online dating for a while, became friends too and their dynamic was so beautiful.

I adore Julie and she was such an interesting character to read, she's strong, can fight, is caring, and would do anything to protect the people she loves. Trevor is also such a selfless character who always puts family first so yeah these two have my heart.

I had so much fun reading the first two books because of the secondary characters and their drama, Pietro is my favorite character, and God I love him and Laura. I kinda like Seth but hate him for hurting Audrey, I just hope she stops her obsession and dates someone else just so Seth can wake up and do some groveling after hurting her feelings. Abby and Ky seem to have an interesting dynamic too, and Taylor and Harvin will probably have so much bickering I'm gonna love to read their book.

I can't wait for PietroLaura's book, I honestly do think they'll have the best book in the series and ugh their crumbs in TLWC were so good.

My critics:
the endless plot recycling: the virgin girl, the r4pe or almost rape scene, the girl being pregnant and losing the baby when the villain gets her, the fact that everyone isn't the daughter or son of who they thought were their parents, this was so repetitive and predictable like. I hope there are some new plots in the next book.

I always feel I’m not good with doing reviews but here we go anyway.
Soooo, I have received this book as an arc which I was more than happy about because I’ve been super interested in Trevor’s and Julie’s story ever since Ceci’s and Connor’s book - and let’s just say they certainly didn’t disappoint.

I’m going to start saying something about the two main characters individually, then their couple dynamic and lastly other thoughts I have :)

Julie/Guilia has won over my heart so quick as a mafia princess simply wanting to have a normal life. She deals with so much oppression due to her responsibilities of being born into the mafia world that it truly broke my heart having her mother dictate so much about her life. Let’s not even get started about her piece of sh** of a father.

“There are moments in our lives when everything seems too much. And you would just like to vanish.”

Though Julia and I don’t have a similar upbringing (duh?) I felt very connected to her thoughts at times. Julie was a very caring character that was desperately in need of love but she also did not let herself get treated poorly and let’s just say this in order to protect the man she loves she will also not shy away from being the one to hurt him in order to protect his life.
A little detail I loved about her was that she dyed her hair red as that was something she always wanted. It made the nickname “little fire” even more fitting :)

Trevor the man that he is. About Trevor I loved how dual his personality was. At his core he’s an absolute lover boy who knew after 30 minutes with Julie that that’s it. That’s the love of his life. That man is dedicated and loyal to those around him BUT him also pointing out that Julie will always be the one to hold his main loyalty in the end was something I adored. But at the same time Trevor was able to become the leader of a secret society due to his ability to blend in well and to gather information everywhere he went.

“I have no intention of bowing down to anyone. From the very beginning, I was determined to be at the top.”

At the top he was and may I say, the better Ross brother?🤭

As couple they were very insta lovey and while I don’t usually like that, Juv Martinez sure made me like it in this book. Both main characters were insanely focused on each other since they were fifteen years old and their feelings never wavered once. They found solace in each other when feeling incredibly lost.

“I always felt alone but with Trevor? He is my home, my safe place.”

“She lives in my soul. Every day since the first fucking smile.”

I liked that they were drawn to each other like moths to a flame and that even when Julie knew she shouldn’t give in she couldn’t stop herself from doing so.
And Trevor being Trevor loved Julie despite every ugly attempt of her to push him away. He actively tried to find solutions for them to be together. He always, always put her needs first.
After she said some really nasty things to him he still sat down and stayed with her when she asked him to because he’s just THAT hooked (as he should be).

Now let’s talk about all that crumps the author has given us in this book regarding the other possible couples, shall we?
If I eat one thing up, it’s forbidden romances and it looks as if Juv will deliver plenty of them (you can’t see it but I’m grinning behind my phone rn).

First of all.
I’m sorry but Seth and Audrey??? They will eat and leave no crumps. All the little moments between had me wanting more and more.

“Audrey will never truly give up on me.”
Hell, yes.
Give them to me now.
I’m bot above begging. Okay, actually take this as begging.

Second of all.
Pietro and Laura???????
A couple I didn’t know I needed until this book.
The age gap, the fact that he’s now the Don with a whole ass arranged fiancé?
Oh I’m living for the coming drama and angst.

My thoughts:

When I received an ARC copy of this book I had no expectations of it, nor did I know what to expect but i can honestly say I really enjoyed it. I feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to do so.

Trevor Ross - well what can I say he is loyal, trustworthy, connected with his emotions and feelings - a complete lover boy which is completely refreshing. However on the flipside he was tough, ruthless when need be, possessive, and had a filthy mouth.

It all began with their childhood romance which was all incredibly sweet, and he knew she was the one for him within 30minutes of knowing Julie, his "little fire".
As the story continues and they grow up and the story develops and so does their secret relationship.

Trevor puts up with a lot from Julie, yet no matter what she says or does to him, he won't let her go, he remains loyal to her, being at her side when she needs him no matter what, letting his heart guide him putting her above everything and everyone else.

There was a point that I found it frustrating due to the flashbacks scenes, plus there seemed to be more than one story happening at once at different parts of the book but it was still enjoyable.

I'm definitely looking forward to Pietro and Laura's story but Audrey and Seth story🫠 I am soo ready for, it's one I didn't know I needed.

If you are looking for something that has sweet romance, along with spice this would definitely be one to read!

Good luck on Release day Juv, looking forward to the next books to come!

I like the story, but can't say that I love the characters.
Gulia and Trevor was okay couple, that hase chemistry, but unfortunately to me they are not like the first one in the series passionate about each other.
Gulia was a little annoying at times to me,but Trevor definitely was my favorite one in the story.
Now I'm looking forward for the other books in the series and were Juv will lead us.

I was totally sad when I got to the final pages because I realized I was going to say goodbye to TrevorJulie!

To begin with, I must say that I didn't think any other couple would win me over as much as Connorcecilia and I had put my foot down saying they were my favs, but aaahhh, TrevorJulie were a big surprise! Dear Juv promised Angst and she really delivered, my emotions went crazy with this book, I loved seeing more of each of them and the possible next couples.

Julie and Trevor really are fire and gasoline, with incredible chemistry, and I must always praise Juv's writing, the way it is fluid and leaves us feeling warm, the family relationships and the bonds between friends, and of course, the big twists in the plot that leaves us looking forward to the next one, and I must say that Mr. Pietro Barone really stole the show whenever he appeared, and of course I can't help but mention my Seth and Connor, I just need More and More of them

~Trevor and Julie. Julie is a mafia princess who fell inlove with Trevor insted of the man chosen for her. Trevor stole my heart his loyalty and obessesion was everything. I enjoyed the intensity of their love from the start to the end. Julie was such an amacing and interesting character. She was caring and bad ass at the same time. But Julie and Trevor have nothing on Seth and Aubrey I need their book so bad omg. I was beyond hooked from the start to the end and the character were amazing.

This was actually my last read of 2023. I love it, it was the best ending to an amazing year books.

I honesty can’t wait to read Seth and aubrey books I ate every single crumb of them I got in this book.

“I will never let you go after today. You’re mine to break, mine to fuck, mine to love. Every fucking inch of you belongs with me, and make no mistake Giulia Barone. The only guy who will ever lead you to the altar is fucking me. I will burn the whole world down before I let you marry some other guy.”

This book certainly warmed up the story more than the first book, we can see a more obsessive love, we see a love so crazy that it could hurt each other. I was so excited by the story that I couldn't stop, it just consumed me, the secondary characters are so charming and captivating that I want to read more about them. The book was definitely more elaborate than the description, I noticed that a lot, there was more mafia involvement too, which really excited me!! I'm looking forward to Pietro's book because I feel like it could be the best in this series. Julietrevor left a satisfied taste, even though I suffered a lot reading her pains, this book contains crazy twists and turns very hot, perhaps more than the second book? I really want to know if we're going to be sane about this secret crow club, I'm really interested in these characters.

The first part of the story was very sweet! The dynamic between Trevor and Julie was very heartwarming
some aspects that I liked about the book, like the nature of giulia and Pietros relationship, it did show how siblings naturally act sometimes
I also liked how Trevor’s emotions were shown throughout the book, we saw many sides of him which was refreshing

the writing style didn’t really suit/interest me while reading, the thing I had trouble with is the less descriptive and fast paced writing and it unfortunately only intrigued/interested me at 70/80% and upwards :( But since this is a 2nd published novel I wish all the best to the author and hope to see more in the future<3 )
I personally didn’t feel connected to the plot at all, I felt as the plot was unclear until the 50/60% mark
Unfortunately the book wasn’t for me but if you find it intriguing, give it a go! After all everyone has different experiences while reading<3

Thank you Rosie and Juv for the arc 🤍

I received an Arc of this book all reviews are my own honest opinion!

Well Trevor may be my new book boyfriend, he is so possessive and has a filthy mouth 🥵.

I enjoyed seeing Giulia’s growth as the FMC although I found her to be a little annoying at times.

The character development in this book is really good.
There is a good plot and a good amount of spice sprinkled in there.

🇺🇸🇺🇸 REVIEW IN ENGLISH
With this book, longer than the previous one, we can see how the author has improved, and the 400 pages have given her the space to develop a more solid plot. This time, yes, this time I believed Julie and Trevor's story. There were quite a few flashback moments that seemed unnecessary to me, but the rest provided a very good overall sense to the story.

What I didn't like at all were the temporal jumps. I'm used to the next couple in other series picking up where the previous one left off, but in this one, the stories have happened almost simultaneously. While it's something fresh and original, I think they've inserted too many temporal jumps in between to catch up with the present time or the time where the previous book ended.

Another point that prevented me from rating the book with 4 stars is the repetition of the plot. I felt like I was rereading the previous book but better executed. They meet differently, yes, but the virgin protagonist, the unexpected pregnancy, the loss of the fetus due to the villain, and not to mention that nobody is who they think they are. I've listed these in chronological order, which, surprise, is the same order as in the previous book.

I won't even go into why Julie would be only two months pregnant (because she didn't even realize she was pregnant, so she couldn't have noticed a missing period), and when Trevor watches the abortion on video, he sees arms and legs on the baby. ARMS AND LEGS! Are we crazy? Either they performed the abortion very early in the second month or it doesn't make sense. I won't deny that maybe this touches a nerve more than usual because I'm pregnant myself and more aware of these things.

Other than that, a solid 10 for a plot that I found interesting and well-explained, although if you don't have a clear picture of each character, it can get a bit confusing because there are too many characters mentioned in both books. I understand that the author does this so you can start to feel affection for the next characters in the series, but still... it's a bit too much.

Looking forward eagerly to the next one because I truly believe this series has a lot of potential.

This book was better than the first one, but it felt a little rushed overall with all the events happening in the story and the time jumps at the start. Regardless I loved Trevor and Julie, they were such a cute couple 🧡

Julie was so good and she was also different from the book one moment we got of her. She was such a strong and caring character. I loved how she was badass but at the same time so soft and sweet, the way she would do linearly anything for people she loved 🥺 I hated her mom and her dad too. Even more, after I found out what he did and after seeing all the nasty stuff he did to her at the end... my heart broke for Julie 😭

I loved Trevore too, he was also a really selfless character. I loved his relationship with his family. The plot twist about his life and the secret his parents kept shocked me 😳 I was not expecting that at all and my heart goes out to his mom. She went through so much and then her husband dying like that was sad for her and for all the kids too 😞 The way he loved Julie was everything. I loved how he knew her so well and never pushed her and was there for her, even when she said something to hurt him he still loved her and knew she didn't mean it.

The side characters like in the first book were fun and had a lot of drama going on 😂 I loved Pietro as a brother and the way he was with Julia and then how he was with Laura so I'm excited to see what his book going to be like. Surprisingly my next anticipated couple are Abby and Ky their moments were too cute in this book and it seems like after Pietro's book it's them so I'm excited 🤭 I'm still excited with Seth and Audrey's book but their relationships have so much drama going on so idk how I will like them, but I will wait and see as they both good. Taylor and Harvin are a couple that I have mixed feelings about but we shall see how their moments will be in future books.

Overall the book was good but some stuff at the end was not something new and was repetitive like losing the baby because of the bad guy or parents not being the real parents.

“I would die for you, Giulia Barone, if death is the end of it. So I gladly accept it.”

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
Spice level: 🌶🌶.75/5

Giulia Barone has felt like a puppet, controlled by others throughout her life. But everything changed when she met Trevor Ross by a dark lake who had a warm smile and a calming presence. Trevor became her escape and made her feel normal again. Despite knowing that their love is doomed by fate, Giulia still wants it badly. However, she can't be with him because she is destined to marry someone else.

Giulia is a fascinating character to follow. She's tough, can stand up for herself, and is not afraid to fight when needed. At the same time, she's caring and always looks out for the people she loves. Giulia would go to great lengths to keep her loved ones safe, showing her strong sense of protection and loyalty.

Trevor is a truly selfless character, always putting family above everything else. He prioritizes the well-being of his loved ones and is willing to make sacrifices for their happiness. Together with Giulia, their characters create a heartwarming connection that resonates with readers.

This book is way better than the first one, mainly because it dives deeper into the world of the mafia. Trevor and Julie make an awesome pair. I like it when couples take their time, and these two did just that. They started with online dating, became good friends, and their relationship unfolded sufficiently. The whole vibe between them was just beautiful.

I cannot wait for Pietro x Laura's book, since Pietro is engaged to someone else, I feel like Juv Marteniz will deliver the best forbidden romance and angst with her next release.

“I would die for you, Giulia Barone, if death is the end of it. So I gladly accept it.”
.
now I can tell you with certainty that for me it is one of the best dark romance series I have read so far.
the characters, whether main or secondary, all have their importance in part of the story and I love that. we think that once the first book is finished the main plot twist has been revealed to us? big mistake.
everything is tied up, everyone is masterfully connected in one way or another.
the story between Giulia - Julie - and Trevor starts off sweetly, they are two characters who carry a huge weight on their shoulders. Julie is a mafia princess, who must follow the codes of the mafia and her family and must obey, but she has this rebellious side and just wants to live her life.
Trevor just wants to find his place among his family, he has experienced so many horrible things throughout his life that it has left indelible marks on him.
Both tick the boxes of forbidden love, healing trope, and shared trauma.
I love them with all my soul, and with everything they have been through, they deserve all the happiness they deserve.

this book completely FINISHED ME, wrecked me fully but also healed me in a way. I ABSOLUTELY ATE THIS BOOK UP IN JUST 12 HOURS insane right.

Trevor and Julie MY GOD they were so much more than I could've ever expected. Just pure perfection in my eyes.

Julie my girl she's been through so much and still she's the strongest fighter. I adore her so much and get her so bad it's crazy. She sacrificed so much just in order to keep everyone safe 😭😭.

Trevor my man I've no words for him he's truly the best lover boy I've ever came across. He was just so perfect that sometimes it made me question everything BECAUSE HOW?. He made me feel seen okayyyy idk how to explain that. He's literally the BEST alright.

Julie Trevor's story made my heart ache in every good way possible. Especially the last 20% were brutal I've not cried sm in very long.

NOW SETH AUDREY CRUMBS!!!!!!!!!!
these both will end me fr I'm soooooo excited for their book it's MADDENING. Plus I just love how straightforward Audrey is like you need something from her give her Seth's Location.

Can't wait to read abt Laura and Pietro next 🤞🏼

I started this book with no expectations or more like no idea what to expect but I've come to understand that chaos is a common theme in juvs writing lol.

The story itself could've been a little more condensed but the writing and everything else definitely felt better than the previous book.

The first part of the story was so sweet. Adored Trevor and Julie and their little secret relationship. Trevor despite being a tough man wasn't like the typical emotionally stunted mls. He was open and connected with his emotions and feelings which was very refreshing. Julie was both fierce and, loyal and selfless. They made a great pair.

As much as some plot became clearer, the others became more complex. There were too many characters for me to catch up with but I didn't really mind it. My only complaint is that some of the emotional/revelation scenes ended too soon and abruptly for me to process and connect with it.

But Im most definitely excited for the next book. The potential they showed so far got me highly intrigued.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Five fire stars for this fantastic couple.

Julie and Trevor are the second book in the Evermore series, and I have to admit that I loved them way more than the first couple. The secret relationship, the way they were each other's safe place, warmed my heart in a way I didn't think could.

Giulia is a mafia Princess destined to marry someone else, and for her, this was soul-crushing until she met Trevor, her safe place. They start a secret relationship, and let me tell you what chemistry this couple has! I love it so much.

Trevor is wholly obsessed with Julie from the moment he sees her. He is a romantic guy 😭🥹 What I loved the most about him was his Doberman boy vibes; I really dig it.

As a couple, they went to hell to be together, but in the end, they could have their HEA.

As for the next one, I’m SO EXCITED TO READ IT!! I think they will be so good, like, I LOVED THE CRUMBS

The Love We Curse is Giulia/Julie and Trevor's story. It's my first read by this author and it's absolutely fantastic! The characters and the storyline are consuming and completely flawless. Julie and Trevor both have such a sadness about them. She's a Mafia Princess and he's in line to take Head of The Society of Crows.

"Thirty minutes. That was all it took for Giulia Barone to change the chemistry in my brain. She did it with a single action, a smile."

These two went through absolute, mortal h*^* to find their path. They never had an easy moment except together.

"Julie, from that moment, had been fearless and headstrong, willing to go to great lengths for the person she loved."

They filled a void with each other and built a life that impenetrable and FINALLY found their HEA.

"I am by your side. On your team. Forever."

"We are fire, gasoline, home. We are Trevor and Julie. Each other's safe place."

I knew I’d love this book from the moment I saw Julie and Trevor’s “first” meet in Cecilia’s book. THEY ARE SO EVERYTHING.
“because Trevor, my safe place, was the best choice I fought for.” SHUT UP??? I have never in my life loved a golden retriever as much as I do him. (tho he isn’t always one).
I’m SO excited for Laura and Pietro & to see her grow more confident (is that even possible???).
my most anticipated couple is Seth and Audrey tho. OBSESSED STALKERISH GF AND PSYCHO BF WHO DOESN’T BELIEVE IN LOVE/HE CAN BE LOVED??? SIGN ME UP. have to figure out how to connect my notes to book reads bc I annotated a bit (a lot).

first of all i need to say the writing in this book got so much better than in the first one- especially considering it’s the authors second book.

after finishing the first book i was excited to read about giulia & trevor.
i liked this one definitely more than the previous one and really felt the connection between the two main characters.
the first part of the book was really sweet even tho i’m not the biggest fan of the forbidden trope🌚
throughout the book it got a little bit harder to keep up with the storyline but most of it made sense at the end.

thank you juv for this ARC🩵

3.5 stars

this was a rollercoaster ride. it started off good, i was hooked, then it got too slow and it felt like the story was just dragging but then the last few chapters were good. the epilogue tho??? why was it about laura and pietro instead of julie trevor?? we deserved to get a wedding?? julie trevor openly and happily being together?? also, the recycled plots especially the baby plot was disappointing.
nevertheless i enjoyed it and trevor is my sweetest loverboy. ☹️

3.5🌟 I love these two! The way they meet is so precious and the way they loved each other through it all. The downside to this book in my opinion is how it drags iut the mafia drama for so long and it just feels like a bunch of unnecessary yapping. I had not much interest in all the hefty monologues about the lore of the society of the Crow and all that stuff but if you dont mind that sort if thing then it could still be a highly rated book
