It’s hard to reflect and move on with your newly single life when you’re clinging to the side of a mountain in a rainstorm.
And even harder when you’re falling off said mountain to your death.
But somehow I don't die. I think.
For I wake up in the gigantic, scaly arms of… a creature. A thing that looks like a koi fish and a human man…combined.
No joke.
I should be terrified of the way he looks at me—like he wants to devour me.
Am I out of my mind to find that kinda hot? Yep, completely nutso.
Ax’ryon
I expect the Cave of Unmei to show me my destiny as a warrior, not hand me my mate.
Especially not one from another planet.
But she is absolutely breathtaking. And I can barely control myself when I look into her mossy green eyes.
I’d give my life to protect this woman. To love her.
Yet, once we are safe, will she agree to stay with me here in my world…forever?

Warrior Mine is a short, steamy, fated mates romance. It’s the first book in the Interstellar Portals series, which features alien heroes and the human women they’re destined to love.
Gleeful Goblin Review: This book had me in a grip from the very beginning. Our FMCs internal monologue is snarky and witty, taking no guff from anyone, ESPECIALLY her sh¡tweasel of an ex fiance and is on a journey of self rediscovery that leads her to our precious underwater cinnamon roll MMC. I was admittedly drawn into the story because of the cover art being so unique. I already enjoy mer-people stories and I figured this might be along the same lines. And it is.... but also more monstery and I AM DOWN. "The creature that towered before me was almost twice the size of an average man in height and width. His muscles were monstrous yet lean, and the markings on his skin were like that of a koi fish… mottled and vibrant in gradients of neon orange and red, on glowing white. Black rimmed his large yellow eyes, and spotted his hands and feet, and fins. Yes, those were fins atop his head, and what looked to continue down his back, and tail. Tail?! Did I mention he was nàked? Well, nàked except for a leather-like loincloth suspended from his hips and cradled around his huge and erèct— “Morach najir,” he whispered, his lips curling into a smile. This creature smiled at me. It should’ve been creepy. But it wasn’t. What was I saying? This fish-guy-thing (whatever he was) hung out in dark caves, lying in wait for unsuspecting victims. Who cared if he was sort of handsome? He was about to tell me to put the lotion on my skin!"
There is only a language barrier for a brief time which was a tiny bummer for me since I love that trope BUT it makes sense as to why it's for such a short time and the way that's eliminated is very cool and sweet. Very "Hey I just met you, and this is crazy, but be my mate now, so we can parley." The story is fun, sweet, steamy, and full of quick witted characters that you can't help but fall in love with while you watch them fall in love on the page. 5/5 Stars.

4.5 ⭐s Let me get this straight: my mate's half koi fish and half man?
Leah's fiancé dumped her for his new assistant. Go away for an adventure hike in Kauai and find yourself, her friends said. Of course, all of her friends were too busy to go. So she went alone, and now she finds herself falling off the side of a mountain in a rainstorm!
Ax'ryon is on his way to the Cave of Unmei on the date of his twenty-fifth star cycle, as the tradition of his clan requires. The cave will show his destiny, and he must follow the path of truth to fulfill it. He hopes to be shown as a great warrior, leading his people against any enemies daring to threaten them. His father died in battle, and Ax'ryon is proud to follow in his father's footsteps as a warrior and a leader.
As the tide recedes from the mouth of the cave, the body of a small woman lies on the sand. She's his mate! But she's not of his clan, Rex'ulti, since she has no fins, gills or scales. Nor does she have the appendages of the other two clans on the planet Co’sentyx. With her wavy golden hair, mossy green eyes, small nose, tiny mouth, smooth tan skin with intricate colorful designs on her arms, and strange clothes, where did she come from?
Leah wakes to find something wrapped around her. It appears to be a huge combination of a man and a koi fish. She can't understand him until he does something to her—the bonding rite, he calls it. Will she ever be able to return to Earth? Will she care?

Leah's life takes a drastic turn when a hiking trip gone wrong leads her to an unexpected encounter with Ax'ryon, a warrior from another planet. Falling off a cliff during a rainstorm, Leah should have met her demise, but instead, she wakes up in the arms of a creature that's part koi fish and part human. Despite the terrifying appearance of her savior, Ax'ryon, Leah can't help but find him oddly attractive. Ax'ryon, anticipating a glimpse of his warrior destiny in the Cave of Unmei, is surprised when fate introduces Leah as his mate, a woman from Earth. Though their worlds are vastly different, Ax is captivated by Leah's beauty, pledging to protect and love her. As they navigate an initial language barrier and challenges of being stranded together, their connection deepens and things heat up between the two, even as Leah yearns to return to Earth and Ax hopes to convince her to stay in his world forever. Leah's snarky internal monologue and Ax's endearing cinnamon roll personality make for an engaging and humorous tale of love across worlds. Ax'ryon's unique alien characteristics add an intriguing touch. Ultra-hot and steamy alien-human fated mates romantic quickie with action, humor, and unexpected turns. Great kick off the Interstellar Portals series and it will be interesting to read Ty’zir and Kaia's story - his intro to Leah was pretty funny in the 'prankster who pulls you into the pool' kind of way.
Leah’s fiancé Darren dumped her. To get over the betrayal, she goes for a walk and ends up tumbling off a mountain! But waking up in a dark cave is even more strange when she meets a creature that is somewhat like an extremely tall and muscular man but with markings like a koi fish! He even has fins like a fish! He said something, but she had no idea what and she ran toward the cave entrance to get away. Unfortunately, the cave mouth seemed to crumble in a rockslide, preventing her escape. Before she could be injured by the falling debris, a warm body covered her. This female was Ax’ryon’s mate, as the cave had shown him. He must protect her and bond quickly so she can communicate with him. The cave entrance was now blocked, and he saw that his mate was afraid of him. With her still resisting, he performed the bonding rite and she was able to understand his words. But can he convince her to stay on this strange planet Cos’entyx with him? Or will she insist on returning to Earth?
There are many adventures and laughs in this story and we meet what looks like “sentient sealife” such as Ty’zir, a sort of octopus or kraken with tentacles, who dragged Leah under the water to play before he noticed she had no gills. Grab your copy and get acquainted with the wildlife! Or did I mean to say “wild life”? Either way, it will hold your attention!

Okay, so this was a cute piece of fluff with a little bit of spice. I’ve got nothing against that though. I’m sure Leah wasn’t expecting to wake up on another planet after falling off the side of a mountain in a rainstorm. Not only that, she wakes up in the arms of a man-fish hybrid. But a koi hybrid? Surely there are sexier fish out there. Like a dolphin (yeah, I know it’s not a fish, but you get my drift). Or he could have just been like Kevin Costner in Waterworld 😊 Technicalities aside, Ax’ryon immediately knows Leah is his mate, even though he doesn’t understand a word she says and doesn’t know where she’s from. Interestingly, he may have never seen an Earth woman before, but he can find her clit with his eyes closed and knows exactly where to stick his…uhm… fifth appendage. Do fish even have penises? The story ends a bit abruptly and, oh boy, I would have loved to know what Ax’ryon’s mother thought of Leah. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Recently dumped Leah is hiking in Hawaii when a rainstorm sweeps her off a cliff edge, and she falls to what she’s sure is her death. Meanwhile, on planet Co’sentyx, warrior Ax’ryon arrives at a cave that will show him his destiny. He fully expects to see his future as leader of his people, but fate presents his mate instead — an unconscious Leah, who’s fallen through a portal. He’s ecstatic, but Leah is less so when she wakes up with an alien wrapped around her. When the cave entrance crashes down, they’re focused on getting out, but each also has a secondary mission: Leah to get back to her planet, and Ax to convince her to stay on his.
Ax exudes adorable, cinnamon roll charm, with a super sexy “satisfy my woman” side, and Leah is real and hilarious (her description of hiking guide Stream had me giggling). This short and sweet story makes a perfect lunch hour or bedtime read.

Leah, the female human lead, on a nature excursion to reset after being dumped by her ex-fiancé. Literally falling off a cliff, she’s shocked to find herself being cared for by a male who reminds of a koi fish in his colouring.
Ax’ryon, the male amphibious alien lead, is on a quest for guidance from his gods and is shocked to find his mate unconscious near the quest cave. He’s even more surprised to find that she’s not from any of the species on his planet. Now he needs to convince her that he really is her mate, that she really is safe, and that she really should stay with him…
This short story is dual POV, and a simply written first contact alien romance. I appreciated that Ax’ryon was willing to do whatever was needed to make Leah comfortable. I enjoyed the developing relationship. The story just felt too short for the content and I would have enjoyed more depth to it.

This book started with a bang! Leah was on a hike in Hawaii during a rain storm. She fell and as she was falling, she went through a portal into another dimension onto the planet Co'sentyx. There Leah was found by AX'ryon, Ax for short. He knows immediately she is his fated mate. It doesn't take long for her to understand that too. I loved the story building so it wasn't confusing how both characters came to the place they were presently in. It has lots of spicy content and a HEA.

This was such a fun series opener and a fab introduction to a new world. Leah, trying some adventure training to get over her loser ex, ends up falling through a portal to another world. Ax’ryon, about to enter a sacred cave to get some portents to his future, finds Leah unconscious and he takes her in the cave out of the elements. Well, a cave-in later, these two struggle with language barriers, at first, but he's so sure she's his fated mate and future that he bonds with her. This allows them to fully communicate. Their chemistry is hot and he certainly knows what to do with her body to make their joining beyond awesome ;P After the drama and danger, I'm really hoping the next book brings them back to his village to see how his people accept her. I can't wait!
'I had reached the pinnacle of pleasure with my mate, and I would never be the same.'
I enjoyed this book. It was a fun read. I like both Leah and Ax'ryon and the bond and chemistry that quickly forms between them. I love Ax's koi fish form- and the book cover is beautiful! We get a little conflict from what- in my opinion- was an obviously stupid decision on Leah's part (not for the emotion of it, but from her surroundings and newly learned knowledge of the clans). I loved meeting Ty'zir and excited to read his book next. I was disappointed at the abrupt ending of the story though. I was really looking forward to Ax bringing Leah home and introducing his new mate to his mother and clan- especially after the build-up to it. All of a sudden, it was over. 4 stars.
Unexpected Discovery. A hiking trip gone wrong is an interesting life-changing event for Leah. Introducing Ax and some of the otherworldly clans with the mention of fate’s influence was a fun quick intro to this new series. I found the rich and unique descriptions of Ax and some other characters very interesting while setting the stage for more revelations that could occur later. Fate certainly has more in store for the individuals of Earth and this world!.

I really enjoyed the tale of if Leah and Ax ryon, it was a very fast read which was great for me , loved the pacing and the world that Jinx created. I was spicy but no too spicy, there was great dialogue and a lot of action and suspense. Loved the beginning of the book and the way Leah found herself in this new world and with the hunky koi man who discovers her!!! 5 stars all the way, perfect for a lunch break or quick fantasy escape. Recommended.
Super quick, super sweet, with a bit of sexy. Exactly what it claims to be.
Even though any issues of drama was handled very fast, I all felt pretty genuine. The characters work together and I liked the general idea of the world.
See what listening to friends get you...fallog off a cliffside into the life of a warrior who is from another world that sees you for you and treats you like the Queen you are.
