Grace makes Darius want something he never thought he could have. He’s spent most of his life alone with only his two wolf personalities for company. His craving for knowledge and some form of companionship other than the wolves drove him back to civilization. But he stayed too long in the human world this time, and ended up the prisoner of an evil scientist. After a year of insidious experiments, a violent escape, and tracked by hunters, Darius finds himself in wolf form, wounded and dying from silver poisoning. Grace becomes his salvation. Together they return to the lab, free all the other shifters, and claim a gift he didn’t know he left behind.

Darius helps Grace find a part of herself she never knew she lost. Life as a country vet isn’t easy, and sometimes she had to make the hard choices. Unsure of what to do with the wounded wolf, the pleading eyes of her eight-year-old daughter, and the wolf’s sexy silver eyes, drives her to do everything in her power to save the gorgeous animal. Not only did he live, but became the sexiest, most arrogant, intriguing man . . . wolf she’d ever know. Her whole reality disintegrates and reimages as she discovers a world of shape shifters, fairy people, and her place among the chaos of a day-to-day life with a furry mate.

What an Enthralling Read!
This is my first read and review from this author and I wasn't disappointed. All of the characters, plot, and dialogue are expertly written with plenty of 🔥🔥🔥🔥 to keep things spicy. The chemistry between Darius and Grace literally jumps off the page and all of the subcharacters that are introduced are fun to read as well. No spoilers here but I really wish we could see what else happens with this group. Obviously plenty of laughter, adventures and love to be had for sure. If you love shifter romance , you will thoroughly enjoy this book. I promise you.

I really wanted to like this book. The MMC felt almost robotic in his emotions. Maybe that was intentional? But after awhile it would have been nice to seem him turn softer and more affectionate towards the FMC. I also thought that the multiple POV and storylines were a bit too much. I truly enjoyed the first 25%-30% of the book but then started to lose interest after that.

Although Dire Needs is not the genre of book I would usually read, I had enjoyed the writing of this author's last book (The Witchbox) so much, I wanted to read her latest novel. It did not disappoint! Excellent writing and storytelling skills! You will quickly come to care about Grace and her daughter, and I found the scientific aspect of the lab research very interesting. If you enjoy Paranormal/Shifter stories, you will love Dire Needs.
