surprisingly good. i enjoy reading the perspective of the mc, abel, because it shows how dynamic he is as a character. he's optimistic, but can be quite calculative in expecting the worse intentions from others. he's so expressive to the point i can confidently say that he's a yapper and the little prince is just tolerating him /hj LMAO anw, i'm still slight disappointed he twinkified him but i guess abel is abel no matter what physique he takes
I love this manhwa 💯 It's so good my baby Abel he's such a green flag and he's always positive, he cares about his highness and learns him so many things and calmed him. They deserve to be happy. He's like a Big bear cutie and he became a weak cutie but I still love him, he's so beautiful in his second life but he's so funny and I love him so much. I don't blame Karas for anything he has done and now is his turn to take care of Abel 🥹

4.5 Because GR is only listing the Korean edition I use that one although I read it in English online. So maybe I start with a short summary for Regas season 1:
The founding myth of the country is telling about a war against an evil dragon which humanity was almost loosing if not for another dragon who became enamored by one of the knights. Afterwards that dragon founded the kingdom together with his beloved and every child born with royal blood was also endowed with the dragon's might. Unfortunately together with great power came a cruel heart. For balance a confidant forging a special bond with the king had to be trained, one capable of taming the dragon within and thus the first Regas was installed. Over the centuries it came as it usually does, the dragon's vigor waned with each successor and the job of a Regas changed from a tamer of dragon to the tamer of man. Nevertheless the founding myth was still strong and even while step by step the council of the great houses took the reign the never were able to get rid of neither the royal lineage nor the Regas. So they came up with a special substance to get the royal family hopelessly addicted and gradually changed the Regas into a catamite.
Now at the start of our story the king is weak and distracted by a pleasure-Regas and the queen on the brink of madness. Unfortunately the queen consumed the powder heavily during her pregnancy and that lead to the birth of a prince where the dragon power was strong again. A Regas of old time had to be found and such the sad story of Karas, the spurned boy with the dragon eyes, and Abel, the gentle giant with the big heart, evolves.
My heart went instantly out to Karas. Betrayed and abandoned, kept in a dark messy room because all the servants were in fear of him and after a time rightfully so because he became the cold monster they believed him to be. I had a more difficult time with Abel. He's so gentle with an even, sunny temper it's bordering on simple. I only started to understand him after his background story was told and after all he was exactly what Karas needed. Patient and kind to a fault he endured Karas' violence because he knew where it came from, and slowly with confidence, unrestricted support and simple stories he gained the boy's trust and the council's concern.
I must admit it was that heartbreaking situation that kept me reading while being afraid about the ending. The art helped to make a sad story not too tragic because looking at only the pictures and how the characters are drawn it could easily be one of those cute isekai stories where a pitiful orphan becomes a princess and that contrast together with Abel's sunny yapper side made the story lighter than it would be if the artist would have taken the story as seriously as the author.
It must be said that season 1 is not about romance (would be creepy with Karas still a small boy) and the ending is a sad one but everything is changing in season 2.

I genuinely enjoyed this bl, it has such a unique plot. Defined not for everyone due to the regression so I’m not sure if it still counts as age gap. But love the MC he’s so pure and I hate how the council used him and poisoned him and he let that happen for the little prince, who lost his eyes from the abuse like!!?!
Anyways waiting for some cold hard revenge in the next book, I need timeskip Karas to completely obliterate them for the politics back stabbing abuse and the emotional pain they continue to put him through and all the fucked yo controlling methods they tried to use.
Woah.
Personajes
🐉Karas
It was the beginning that stood out to me the most. I didn’t know what I was expecting from the story having no idea going into the manhwa blinded. But this wasn’t it..
The first time the ML and the MC meet each other. It was extraordinary done right. Much of that timeline impacted the whole story. So much so that it forces you to take a pause.
Maybe because I was so used to reading and predicting things way before it actually happens. That when the small Karass fisted his tiny hands and raised them to hit Abel with a punch we both never saw coming. We were left reeling.
And the way Abel instantly understands the reason for small baby Karass to do that really broke my heart. Him comparing Karass with a frightened animal was such a beautiful way of describing it.
But let’s not forget the way Abel’s mind works. He is extremely sharp for an airhead person. He is clever without being manipulative. But above all, he has this ability to nurture. He is one of the most endearing characters I have read so far.
His way of thinking is exceptionally honest. The way he trued his hardest to keep Karass safe is so comforting. His thinking is always warm and positive no matter the circumstances. He has this innate ability to change your perspective with his own rationality.
If you are falling in love with Abel slowly with each new page of the story. There is absolutely no way you would not fall in love with Karass at first glance.
He just has that quality about him. His tiny hands packed a punch I never recovered from. And when he says Apel for the first time, I knew I was never coming back from loving Karass.
Never !!
p.s; Of course I miss the small Abel and his hulk like protector. So much so that I was a tad disappointed that it was a reincarnation story. I was already attached to this hunk of a man who had a heart worth of gold. That seeing him in some unfamiliar face and body was a hard pill to sallow. Regardless the new Abel won me after a short while.
And even though I missed the old version of Abel sometimes, I appreciated the author for keeping the same personality and the energy in the new Abel. Having said that, I liked the old Abel a tad bit more.
I read manhwa, not the novel. So having said that, I am currently in the middle of the S3. The one where the roads take a sharp turn. The one where you cross your fingers hoping to cross the lane. The one where the climax finally hit and you bite most of your nails.
This was a wild, if unsatisfying ride. I read basically the first 1/4 of this as a manhua and that part was excellent. Nice pacing, interesting concept, good art. I read the rest as a light novel and it felt like watching a car crash in slow motion.
The main ML has generally no redeeming qualities and many times throughout I was like "why don't we just burn it all down and start over?" Coincidentally the ML was of the same opinion because he was truly psychotic. Trigger warnings for rape, cannabalism (which was truly surprising and gross), excessive violence, and just a bad time all around.
In terms of quality, the manhua is superior. The LN was fan translated, so I can't judge accuracy, but wow I'm gonna judge how stupid the plot, motivations, characters, and overall pacing was. The manhua seemed to tone down many of the plot points. I might continue with that, but definitely not the light novels.
gonna post my review for both volumes on the first one as per usual
okay so the manhwa isn't on goodreads but the novel is and i read up to chapter 47 so i cross referenced with where in the novel the most recent manhwa chapter i read was and it was approximately at the end of volume 2 and the beginning of volume 3 so i rounded to the nearest one (volume 2). i'm gonna put this in the google doc tracker and on anilist too hopefully
still sad they got rid of abel's buff body and made him a twink when he reincarnated but i'm happy his vibrant personality and hilarity transferred over at least
So far things are going great.. I like the MC and his fluffy personality… and the idea of him being totally different to all the regas… but I’m not sure if I like the new body of him reincarnated cause now he looks like all of them… but.. let see how the story keeps going
3.5 for me. would probably be a 4 had the translation been better, but thankfully I’d already read through this volume in the webtoon and understood it
It was a good story. Especially the start. I did not continue because it gets a bit drawn-out. But the characters are interesting and Abel is very likeable.
