Review for chapters 1-109 (latest)
A good comedy is always 20% horror, and You Chiba 100% understands that.
Youchien Wars exceeded expectations in every way that matters. When I first started reading it while it was still building up its chapters, and I expected it to be generic. But now I am under the firm belief that it is one of the best running shounen of this era.
The semi-chibified art and use of excessive double spreads really settles the atmosphere. And just when you think you know the formula of this manga, it introduces a new piece of information that changes the story.
I particularly love moments where the story reminds you again and again that the special recruits are infact criminals, tasked to do a dangerous job. Such as the chapter where we got to see Doug and Rita's morning routine before they head to kindergarten Noir, or
Speaking of , while I was sad when it happened, I'm so glad it did. Because Silvia quickly went from an annoying simp to one of the best characters in the manga after that. I know her backstory has concluded, but I hope she isn't sidelined anytime soon. Best character IMO. Maybe aside from Doug and Rita, but they're the main character and protagonist respectively, so it's an unfair comparison.
Now that the manga is in its final arc, I will geniunely miss it when it ends.

This is surprisingly good! The premise of a kindergarten teacher protecting children from assassins while being a criminal herself is wild, but it really works. I love the over-the-top, hilarious characters. My favorite is definitely the main character; her quest to find a hot guy keeps ending with her accidentally killing them because they don't share her views, which is just hysterical. And it's fine, because they're trying to kill kids anyway, so fuck em! The ending was actually intense, and I'm really interested to see what happens next.

Ich hab von meiner kleinen Dorfbuchhandlung ein Leseexemplar bekommen :D und wow, ich bin begeistert.
Aufgrund des Klappentext hätte ich mir den Titel vermutlich gar nicht geholt, und jetzt bin ich echt happy, dass ich das Exemplar gelesen hab.
Es ist so mega witzig - Rita ist eine Mörderin, die ein Jahr lang im sichersten Kindergarten der Welt ihre ARbeit verrichten muss, danach werden alle Anklagen erlassen - so wie bei allen anderen von ihren Mitarbeitern, immer unter der Aufsicht der Kindergartenchefin, die vom Militär ist. Und die Kinder werden ständig angegriffen oder entführt.
Rita hingegen ist eigentlich nur an einem interessiert - aufgrund ihres Jobs als Erzieherin findet sie vermutlich nie einen netten Kerl :/ um mal eine Beziehung zu haben, also müssen halt die Auftragskiller dran, die es nach den Kindern trachtet. Je hübscher der Kerl, desto eher kann man ja mal kurz flirten, nur leider trifft einfach niemand ihren Geschmack - wer will schon nen Freund der bei Kinovorstellungen vor dem Abspannende den Saal verlässt. Für Rita definitiv ein nogo, für die Killer den Tod :D
Ich hab mich echt beömmelt. Es wird definitiv noch mehr als diese ARt von Slapstickhumor kommen. Ihr Mitarbeiter, ein Gauner, verknallt sich nämlich dann leider doch in Rita - nur leider ist er definitiv nicht in Ritas Beuteschema :D klingt doch nach ner tollen Romanze.

I LOVE this one sm! It's super cute and action packed (suprisingly?).
It's literally about the safest kindergarten in the world that hires the most dangerous criminals as teachers (don't know how safe that is but its working???). I literally laugh EVERY chapter and the characters are so unique. The main lead has a goal of finding a boyfriend and everytime she meets a handsome guy she questions them before fighting lol.
Anyways, looking for an action packed manga rec that will fill your heart with joy and laughter? Go read this.

A hilarious manga about a kindergarten, assassins, kick-ass scenes, a girl who believes a bit too much in horoscopes, and more!
I came across this one on Twitter and I just HAD to read it. It sounded like a read that I could definitely use at this moment. Something funny. Something silly. And maybe a dash of darkness.
In this one we are at Kindergarten Noir, aka the safest kindergarten in the world. Here you will find the kids of politicians, businessmen, and VIPS. AKA, kids that need the most protection because people are after them/their parents. But these kids don’t have to worry, well, OK, maybe a bit haha, there is a whole team of formerly criminals who kick some serious butts to protect them. Wait, I can hear you think, but Mehsi, formerly criminals? Yes. You read that right. These criminals are the top dogs… but they know better than to go against orders. They want that sweet sweet reduced sentence. Not that many of them may make it that far given how crazy things are at this kindergarten. There isn’t a day that someone tries to assassinate, kidnap, take, or get a kid. You need all your wits. All your systems on go. You need to be prepared. Yes, the manga is packed with action, but no worries, there is also a lot of humour to balance it or just give action scenes a bit of funny situations.
Because that is what you get with our MC. She is called Rita and she is like the best there is. But she is also here to find a hot date. Yup. Priorities. This girl wants a hot date and she will find one. Those poor assassins think that she is just an easy one to tackle… but you better answer your questions right, because otherwise BANG BANG you dead. Bye. Also this girl loves her horoscopes and believes fervently in them, which just made me laugh. Even the kids know what to expect with Rita-sensei. XD I really did like Rita, she is a great character and I am just hoping that one day she finds her hot date.. though I would recommend maybe not going for them in the assassin-pool of hot guys.
Next to Rita we also meet other characters. From the boss of the kindergarten (don’t make her angry), a newbie (but is she totally pure about her intentions), and then there is Doug (who is a bit grumpy about things, but as we see he also gets swooned by Rita as the story continues, though Rita is oblivious seemingly, haha).
Oh, and those who read shoujo and the likes? Remember the scenes with the heroine falling dramatically and the male lead catching her in some dramatic way with lots of glitter and show? Well, those scenes you get in this one with the kids. Some crazy scenes and the assassins guarding/holding the kids safely.
Each chapter begins with the baddies concocting a plan, sending out an assassin (often with some code name that made me laugh at times). I liked that, especially since each assassin was just so confident… they shouldn’t have been that.
It is a really fun manga and I had oodles of fun! I will be reading this one further. I can use a funny action manga in my life!

i came because someone said it was similar to spy x family, and THEY WERE RIGHT! this one has similar themes especially crime adults protecting children.
the plot is basically a very high security kindergarten for the kids of high officials, and the protection they arranged are huge criminals and convicts. the basic deal is that if these criminals survive a year as a kindergarten teacher then they are free to go and live their lives as they wish!
Rita(aka the most deadliest ex-assasin) is a whole mood tho! 🤣🤣 the way she wants to find a hot boyfriend and each time some assasin shows up and answers her interview questions wrong: *BOOM* unalived 😂 and the way these kids are just so unbothered is even more hilarious 😂

That was, overall, quite fun! The idea of a former trained killer working in a kindergarten to protect rich kids is both interesting, funny and tbh also kinda cute. The manga is very action packed and quite graphic with blood and death, so despite the setting it's not really something for children. I enjoyed it though! The main character Rita is a funny badass with a soft spot for hot guys, the only thing I didn't like was how much her focus was on these guys. I get that it's meant to be a comedy, but I found it to be a bit over the top.

Rita, une ancienne criminelle, a accepté une remise de peine en prenant un boulot à la maternelle la plus « sûre du monde ». Rita ne rêve que de « beaux-gosses », mais ces derniers ont intérêt à avoir les mêmes goûts qu’elle, à défaut de se prendre une balle dans la tête…
J’ai trouvé ce manga très drôle et un peu charismatique à la fois. La personnage principale m’a fait beaucoup rire. Il y a de grosses ressemblance à Spyxfamily! Le fait que Rita craque pour les assassins envoyés pour tuer les enfants qu’elle protège et qu’elle finit par les assassiner sans le moindre problème est génial ; c’est les femmes qui donnent le plus de fil à retordre dans ce manga! L’autrice arrive à trouver la petite phrase rigolote à chaque fois ; j’espère juste que l’histoire ne va pas devenir répétitive mais pour l’instant je ne me suis pas ennuyée. Fun et complètement barré, cette série fait un bon début! Le personnage de la directrice a de plus l’air prometteur.

Ce premier tome est un excellent début de saga, on y retrouve tout ce qu'il faut pour introduire cet univers complètement déjanté : de l'action, beaucoup, de l'humour, de l'amitié, un peu, un univers complètement décalé et des personnages qui oscillent entre idiotie et intelligence.
Ça peut paraître basique et sans intérêt pour certains mais personnellement j'ai adoré, c'est très rare qu'un premier tome de manga le fasse autant rire, j'ai trouvé ce shonen très prometteur et extrêmement captivant ! J'ai très hâte de lire la suite.

Bought it read it in one sitting and it’s great it’s silly and I laughed multiple times. I love how Rita just starts asking questions to the people she is supposed to kill because she’s desperate for a boyfriend. I was so shocked when she killed the first guy although the reason was valid. Especially the second guy who eats the braised pork belly first the broth is the right answer ofc. Also Doug falling in love with Rita is also pretty funny. The cliffhanger is crazy though and then we get a preview that kind of spoils it but it’s fine. The bonus at the end was very funny as well.

This is my kind of silly action comedy. The worst killers out there make a deal with the government to reduce their sentence (or not get executed) by babysitting the children of the ultra elite. All are lethal in their specialities, but they also have their quirks that make them endearing as characters. It was fun to see the relationships between the teachers and other staff emerge, and I can't wait for the next volume.

Une idée complètement folle, mais qui marche étonnamment bien. Kindergarten vol. 1 mélange super-héros et garderie avec un humour absurde et un rythme solide. Le dessin est vif, les références bien placées, et l’ensemble se lit d’une traite. Franchement, un début de série prometteur.

Whenever I watched shows or read books, I've always wondered why the mc didnt fall inlove with the looks of their enemies. They're literally baddies sometimes. I'm happy to have found a book the truly represents my feelings as a reader. Though, I wouldn't hurt someone over Ramen, I found this book heavily relatable and cute.

Menuda locura de premisa. La guardería más segura del mundo con sicarios como profes a cambio de conmutar sus condenas. Todo ellos con personalidades antisociales debido a su oficio.

C'était très drôle ! J'ai aimé les détournements de certains clichés et l'humour. À voir tout de même si ça ne tourne pas vite en rond.
Pour ce qui est du dessin, j'avais du mal avec le style utilisé dans les scènes d'action. Mais ça ne m'a pas empêché d'apprécier pour autant l'histoire.
Je suis curieuse de voir comment peuvent évoluer certaines relations.
Affaire à suivre.
