I..idk how I feel about this novella.. idk if it's the author or a me thing.
I did not vibe with Valen at all!! Ifk if it was the "dumb" jock/ego thing, but i wasn't feeling him at all.
Cici is a goth girl who loves the arts she's mad that football star Valen got her play cancled, and let's be honest, he didn't even know. Until she crashes the party and tosses a drink at him and slaps him. He gets mad and forces her to give him a bj. But he has some problems because during sex he's always looking at himself. Always, but for once, he's looking at the girl. She isn't an X or an O she's something different.
Besides that, it was whatever. Also, the ending.. was little wired to me.
Om drama, no cheating, slight secondary character, drama, sexy times, no virgins

Listen, I’m a need a little spice with my books kind of gal, but this? Even this had me blushing with some of the spiciest scenes I’ve read in a Novella. Following our football star and his new Chubby goth obsession, Valen Throne has never seen anyone more beautiful than himself. Until Cici.
Thrown into an a tornado of the unknown, there’s one thing he’s certain of. Cecelia Harper is his, will be his and will ALWAYS be his. No matter how much she claims to hate him, he will make her love her.
Cici is amazing. She’s a plus sized FMC where her size isn’t her personality and she knows she’s beautiful, she owns her beauty too. She’s confident, she wants to be a star and with Valen Throne getting in her way? She’s not afraid to confront the man who only sees himself and nothing beyond.
Both are about to cut off more than they can chew.

Knives and Kisses by Aurelia Knight ❌⭕️🔪💋
I love Aurelia Knight and her books so I was super excited to read this one and I absolutely devoured it. I was hesitant to read it because of the football thing and I’m not into the sports romance books but I’m so glad I did. So if you’re like me, If you’re also not reading it because you’re not into sports, don’t worry it’s not super sports heavy and you’ll love it regardless of a few sporty references.
The characters in this were great though I kind of hated Valen for at least the first half because of his vanity and arrogance (that’s how he’s supposed to be) I ended up liking him in the end, and the FMC Cici was wonderful! Who doesn’t want a curvy gothy girl with an attitude? I wanted more of her when the book was over!
I also loved the background characters like Katie the cheerleader who was actually such a great character and not your stereotypical background cheerleader bitch role.
I highly recommend this short novella. I’m trying to read some valentines themed books this month and I’m glad this was my first one. I have this 5/5⭐️ and 4/5🌶️

I.....don't know what I read. This wasn't just cringe, it was terrible. I seriously cannot believe anyone read that ending and was okay with it. If this wasn't 150 pages I would have DNF'd and I honestly wish I would have. I couldn't even rate it once I finished it because I didn't think it deserved a one star (-5 if I could), plus I was shocked by the ending. It truly didn't even make sense. I love dark books but this... it was just the biggest book ICK I've ever had.

The lines of consent were crossed so many times in this short novella. This is the first dark romance book I have finished and I’m curious to know if all of them are like that? If they are then this may not be my genre.
I consumed this novella pretty quickly given it is not my typical genre - aka dark romance. It intrigues me in a way - besides the consent lines of course. I'm glad that this was the book that I first read!

Okay. For what it is, it’s a good book. It was well written, it was spicy, the characters were okay… The story was crazy, that’s for sure. In theory, I should’ve expected it, but still.
It just wasn’t my cup of tea. I had to stop and contemplate everything at certain parts of the story. Like, genuinely, I was so flabbergasted during certain scenes, I had to stop and laugh in disbelief. “There’s no way,” I would think. And then, Valen and Cici would prove me wrong. Every time.
It was a crazy ride, honestly. For sure going to rant about it to my best friend.

His methods of winning Cici over are a little unhinged, but I promise she liked it lol. Honestly wasn't sure what to expect when it came to Knives and Kisses, but overall enjoyed it. It's definitely a smutty and fun time.

I absolutely loved this novella. I need to go and read this authors entire backlist because I loved their writing!! This story was super dark which I enjoyed, Valen is truly full of himself and obsessed with Cici. I love a mmc that is truly obsessed with her 😍 if you like dark romance definitely check this one out!

Who doesn't want a self-centered, autosexual, privileged, god complexed jock stalking you and claiming you in dark and twisted ways?
Aurelia Knight is a freaking genius at what she does. I devoured this book in one sitting. It was so hot.
The characters are twisted but so entertaining, and the use of a plus-size FMC that refuses to take up less space is perfect. The MMC talks about her body without fetishism or negativity and "defends her" when somebody else does.
A great valentines Day romance for dark romance lovers.
Now let's hope we get a book for easter too 😉

I am honestly into dark romance and even some non-con, however this book came really close to me DNFing (but I’m stubborn so I finished it.)
There is somewhat of an HEA ending but there was so many parts of this book that made me boarder line saying this was an episode of Law and Order SVU where the guy is obsessed and so self absorbed that there was no way to say no- and the woman’s fault for not saying no and how her body reacts.
Does she end up “loving him?” Yes- but the parentheses is important to note. We never really get a clear read on the FMC and what she actually wants and more so “this is my life now, there isn’t anything I can do so oh well- live with it and enjoy it.” And it just rubbed me in all the wrong ways…. Sorry!

2.75 stars. I didn’t hate the book, I just didn’t feel strongly the other way either. If I had to describe this book in three words it would be stabby, juvenile and non-consensual. I don’t think there was a single spicy scene that was consensual, it was all either non-con or dub-con at best. That’s fine if it’s handled well or you’re into it.. still, hard to land in a short enemies to lovers smut filled novella, while keeping a grip on any semblance of realism.
The MMC was a self-confessed and self-obsessed auto-sexual narcissist MVP with no boundaries or understanding of the word no. The FMC was a forever alone chubby pastel goth theatre major with a flair for performance. My only frame of reference for jocks and theatre kids are TV shows like Glee so you can imagine how bizarre this smut fest was to read for me.

I am at a loss for words. This book was a WILD ride of surprises, plot twists & and a very possessive man. I am still trying to figure out whether I truly liked it or not, but my jaw dropped halfway through the book and I’m still looking for it. So that must mean something positive, right?

But this was insane. All this girl wanted was to put on a show for the last time with her theatre friends, and Valen went above and beyond her wishes. He’s insane. I can’t say that word enough, so I’m sorry for repeating it so much. I was shocked to my core, couldn’t believe my eyes & I will never forget this book.

Wow what a crazy Valentines story! Short, quick read combining obsessive, stalker vibes along with an absolutely caring demeanor.
Valen is a self obsessed star football player. He only cares about himself. That is until CiCi approached him. She is his complete opposite and he is enthralled! “Things are different right now, and I’m no longer the center of my world. Things seem brighter, louder, and as interesting as it is, it's terrifying.”
Spicy 🌶️, bit of blood play that is well written, and complete adoration is portrayed in the story. Definitely will be reading more Aurelia Knight books.

I don’t have words to describe how much I loved this one! It was not at all what I was expecting but my gosh it was so much more than I expected! The entire time I was reading with my mouth hanging open in surprise.
I love how Cici & Valen are complete opposites and his nickname/explanation for her? 🥹 love it.
It was fast paced, sweet and f’d up at the same time. You’ll love it!

I’ve read other books by Aurelia so I am sure it’s more this book than anything. It was so chaotic and I just personally couldn’t be invested in it. Maybe because it was a novella there wasn’t much development and hence the chaos? Idk

It had a good beginning, but as it went on it got worse. Cici should have ran far from him. He was a bit more psychotic than I like. I was FLABBERGASTED! Those green flags were turning to red flags real fast.
On the other hand though, I do wish though that there was some more exploration with those mirrors.
