Omg this volume made me cry 😭💔 at least Seojun is going to stop treating Suho like crap now and be his friend again !!
It highlights how tough it can be being in the public eye and receiving hate comments - not going to spoil any major plot points here. But it’s involving a past situation and a past friend.
The love triangle is getting messier though and threatening to ruin their friendship already 🥴 Both guys have feelings for Jugyeong, and she appears to have feelings for both of them back at the same time!
At some point she is going to have to make a choice.
Suho is basically my book bf at this point so I’ll always be Team Suho 😅 but am warming to Seojun at times!

My heart is broken! Everything was going so well, we were finally heading to really excellent results to then pooff! END UP WITH NOTHING. NADA.
I KNOW life is like this but what is the point if all progress is gone when the boy you liked and who helped you goes away. It is as if there wasn't anything relevant or worthy going on! I know the story is not that deep but to put it like the romance was it all isn't it people!
There is friendships, there is career path choosing, economical problems, low self teem, families issues... THERE ARE A LOT OF TOPICS.
I'm tired I don't know where this is going.

This series is fantastic! Even if are sad moments. Great story. My fav character is Han Seo Jun . He has a motorcycle and looks great! All girls can be a fan girls of male main characters here :-D

This one annoyed me the most and I’m officially quitting. I kept waiting for the webtoon to actually say something meaningful like the drama did but no, it just continues on with more vapid, shallow content about the MC only valuing looks. Not just her own, but others’ too. The fact that her sister understands that it’s not cool for Seojun to constantly neg her but the MC doesn’t have a problem with it is just one of the many issues with this series.
To top that off, at least the drama had Suho and Jugyeong start dating before he left to be with his father. The webtoon doesn’t even do that. I can’t see the point of all that build up for no pay off. It’s not a slow burn, it’s a burn that fizzled out before it really started.
Then we have the time jump, which I hated in the show, as well. At least the show seemed to use it better. The webtoon does a complete 180 turn on Jugyeong’s personality. Suddenly, she’s not in make up school, she drinks heavily all the time and gets sloppy drunk so her friends have to take care of her (annoying) and yet somehow Seojun is still into her. I don’t get it. She’s not particularly smart, funny, or charming in the webtoon so what is it the guys see in her? I truthfully don’t get it. Maybe the drama just works better because the actress was so charming and personable? And also because they showed her being thoughtful and kind and she actually had meaningful relationships outside of the men in her life.
Reading this was like a never ending, extremely boring version of Episodes.
I cannot understand anyone reading 200 chapters of this. I literally can’t understand it. I’m stopping here because it’s not getting any better and I’ve just about reached the end of what the drama covered.

💕Cosas que me gustaron:
▪︎Los pequeños malos entendidos entre los protagonistas porque ninguno era capaz de ser directo (par de tontos)
▪︎El outfit de Suho cuando fueron al restaurante, antes de eso pasaron a jugar un juego de zombies en un VR. En esa cita también me gustó mucho el outfit de Jugyeong, le queda bien el color café.
▪︎Suho y Seojun fueron a un sauna y al salir cayó la primera nevada. ¿Será esto el inicio del bromance? (¿Y esos abs? Nunca vi que esta gente se ejercitara 🤨)
▪︎La conversación de Seojun y Jugyeong en Carnes Yaong. Hay una viñeta en la que puedes ver el momento exacto donde se le rompe el corazón a Seojun.
💔Cosas que no me gustaron:
▪︎Que en los dos años que pasaron nadie fue capaz de contactarse con el otro. Esto lo explican más adelante pero sigue doliendo.
▪︎Justo confesaron sus sentimientos en una situación en la que no podían estar juntos. Fue raro y terrible al mismo tiempo.
▪︎Seojun besó a la Jugyeong y ella estaba borracha. Sé que él no se aprovecharía de la situación pero de todas formas está mal.
▪︎Al final del tomo Seojun actua muy controlador con ella y se pone celoso de los chicos que Jugyeong conoció en una fiesta.

Jeśli czytacie dłuższe serie lub oglądacie dłuższe seriale to częściej spotykacie się z bohaterką, która na końcu wraca do swojej pierwszej miłości, czy kończy z "tym drugim"? Pytam, bo w 5 tomie "True Beauty" (#współpracareklamowa z @wydawnictwojaguar ) autorka postanawia wypchnąć jedną główną postać z planszy na lata. Bo czemu by nie wystrzelić kogoś na Marsa, żeby mógł uprawiać ghosting? Ale znając życie pewnie jeszcze wróci po latach cały na biało.
DALSZA CZĘŚĆ BĘDZIE ZAWIERAĆ ŚREDNIEJ WAGI SPOILERY, bo nie wyobrażam sobie pisać o 5 tomie zatajając wydarzenia z poprzednich.
Tymczasem ten tom dba przede wszystkim o to, żeby fabuła w kolejnych ruszyła do przodu dla innych bohaterów - łatwiej się po prostu skupić na dwóch osobach, ich związkach, celach życiowych bez koncentrowania się na trójkącie miłosnym - na to pewnie jeszcze nadejdzie czas, skoro mamy 18 czy 19 tomów, a dopiero jesteśmy na piątym.
Ale od początku - tom 5 komiksu "True Beauty" zamyka nam 1 sezon, w którym mogliśmy doświadczać życia bohaterki w liceum. Pierwsze miłości, nowe przyjaźnie, marzenia, kompleksy- to wszystko doprowadziło bohaterkę do ukończenia liceum z bardzo dobrymi wynikami matur. I to by było na tyle z dobrych wieści. Bo oto po niefortunnych, ale jakże przeuroczych próbach wzajemnego wyznania sobie miłości z Suho okazuje się, że życie nie jest takie proste jak mogłoby się wydawać, a stres spowodowany mocnymi emocjami sprawia, że bohaterka nie dostaje się do wymarzonej szkoły makijażu i musi iść na studia. Mijają dwa lata, bohaterka próbuje sobie ułożyć życie na zupełnie innym kierunku studiów, przy okazji przyjaźniąc się z kimś, kto od wielu lat jest w niej zakochany... I kto nie zamierza dłużej ukrywać swoich uczuć.
W tym tomie mamy dużo ładnych rozkładówek i zbliżeń na twarze, omawianie makijaży nakładanych przez bohaterkę, kupowanie nowych ciuchów - co wspaniale ogląda się przy coraz piękniejszej kresce autorki. To chyba najmocniejsza strona tego tomu, który po prostu jest zamknięciem jednego rozdziału, a otworzeniem kolejnego. Który gwarantuję wam - będzie pełen k-popu i świata gwiazd.

Ohmigosh! After the last book, this TRUE BEAUTY book is precisely what I needed! It was like reading the books at the beginning with all the drama, heartache, love, lust, and miscommunication you can shake your fist at! I’m so excited I read it early to see Jugyeong switch from high school to college - it had an excellent time jump. And now, after that cliffhanger of an ending, I cannot wait for the next book to see what happens!!!!

However- Suho gets cold feet, and in the end neither admit their feelings when the time is right. Fast forward to Jugyeong waiting for her movie date with Suho, she's determined to tell him how she feels! But it's Seojun that shows up, and the news is bad. There's been an accident, and now Suho has to fly out to Japan immediately. He takes her to Suho to say their goodbyes, and FINALLY admit their feelings. However, it seems to be a case of right person wrong time, and years pass in a blink of an eye...
Jugyeong and Seojun are closer than ever, living their adult lives. However, can they be more than just friends? A drunken kiss can either be a blessing or a breaking point for the two.
Wow! A lot happened in this fifth installment, episodes 51-63 of the webtoon. I didn't expect a time skip either, to be honest. But alas- I think seeing an adult Jugyeong is just what this series needed. I love that she's a successful influence, but also living the realities of a 21 year old woman who has no idea what she wants to do in life. Excited to continue this series! I'm holding off on the Kdrama until I can finish it. 5/5 stars.

Dziś przychodzę z mini recenzją kolejne tomiku True Beaty.
A już w tym miesiącu swoją premierę będą mieć kolejne dwa tomiki tej przeuroczej serii.
Zbliża się matura. Jugyeong stara się jak najlepiej pogodzić szkołę, zbliżający się egzamin wstępny do college'u i zajęcia w akademii makijażu. Nie wspominając o jej skrywanej nadziei na to, by stać się dla Suho kimś więcej niż tylko przyjaciółką.
Dwoje nastolatków próbuje wyznać sobie uczucia, ale czas ucieka szybko, a życiowe okoliczności zmieniają się jeszcze szybciej…
Tom 5. Zawiera epizody 51-63.
Jeśli potrzebujecie przerwy od fantastycznych światów i zagmatwanych fabuł, to ta seria jest idealna, szczególności jeśli czujecie się że młodzieżówki już nie są dla was. Ta seria pokaże wam, że absolutnie nie jesteście za starzy na serie młodzieżowe, a przynajmniej nie w wersji komiksowych/powieści graficznych.
Skąd wiem, bo sama czasami już myślałam, że to ze mną jest coś już nie tak i kompletnie nie rozumiem "dzisiejszej młodzieży". Eh jak to brzmi 😅
Ale jak się okazuje po prostu muszę trafić na historie, które do mnie przemówią. Jak zresztą przy pozostałych gatunkach 😅 Gusta i guściki rządzą się swoimi prawami. Nieważne od wieku 😉
Ale to nie znaczy, że każda młodzieżówka będzie nie dla nas. Trzeba po prostu szukać i się nie zrażać, bo kto wie może właśnie czeka na was wasza ulubiona historia, ale nie dajecie jej szansy z powodu gatunku?
Gorąco polecam wam tę serię i mam nadzieję, że jeśli byłeś niepewny tego tytułu dasz mu szansę, a może cię miło zaskoczy?

Tak, tak się wkręciłam, że czytam po angielsku, bo nie wiem czy jeszcze w tym roku doczekam się tłumaczenia po polsku choćby jednego tomu... no ale tak, nie jest źle.
Świetna historia, wiadomo, nadal kocham tę serię.

Debo de admitir que me gusta la relación que se va formando poco a poco entre Seojun y Yugyeong, (aunque fue tipo giro de 180 grados, -obviamente no tanto así porque, pues, pasaron dos años-, pero literal que un capítulo anterior Suho y Yugyeong se despedían, luego sale *dos años después* y Yugyeong y Seojun se besan. Fue algo muy rápido pero a la vez no tanto así, bah, estoy hecha un lío 🥲).
En fin; con cada libro, más me enamoro de esta serie y de sus personajes ♡

Piąta część z serii True Beauty to na razie jak dla mnie najsłabszy tom, ale pech też chciał, że zaczęłam ją czytać, gdy zaczął mnie męczyć zastój czytelniczy. Wciąż jednak była to bardzo dobra historia, przy której mogłam odpocząć. Znowu mogłam śledzić miłosne rozterki Jugyeong i mieć przy tym dużo zabawy. Jej historia jest miejscami nieco głupawa czy żenująca, ale kompletnie mi to nie przeszkadza, bo to jedynie dodaje uroku całości. Tak jak i w przypadku poprzednich części polecam wam tę serię, jeśli potrzebujecie pozycji, przy których będzie mogli odpocząć, pośmiać się, ale jednocześnie wyciągnąć jakieś wnioski, ponieważ każdy tom porusza jakieś ważne problemy.

Piąta część z serii True Beauty to na razie jak dla mnie najsłabszy tom, ale pech też chciał, że zaczęłam ją czytać, gdy zaczął mnie męczyć zastój czytelniczy. Wciąż jednak była to bardzo dobra historia, przy której mogłam odpocząć. Znowu mogłam śledzić miłosne rozterki Jugyeong i mieć przy tym dużo zabawy. Jej historia jest miejscami nieco głupawa czy żenująca, ale kompletnie mi to nie przeszkadza, bo to jedynie dodaje uroku całości. So I’ve actually read these stories before on WebToon but I never finished it! I’m happy to see that there is an arc where Juggyeong gives Seojun a chance because like I said, we only like reformed bad boys here (blame Gossip Girl or Gilmore Girls for this one).
I do wish the Juggyeong has more confidence in herself and see that guys like Seojun can like her. Ahhhh, I can’t wait for Volume 6!!! 🥲🥰
Also if you haven’t yet, this K Drama is on Viki and I HIGHLY recommend it!!! 😍

I'm honestly not sure why I keep reading this...but every time I see a new volume at the library I pick it up. I think my main issue is just how badly the main character thinks of herself and how her family also treats her like she's hideous. It just takes away from everything else. I still think there's potential for this to become something I will love...it's just not getting there fast enough. I'm sure I will read the next one when i see it at the library.

Evet tipik kdrama olayları ama aşırı şapşik tipler ve çizimleri çok harika oldukça sevdim. Klişe kısımlardan biri de esas erkeğimizin aşkını havaalanında itirafı ve bir anda yokolmasıydı sevgi neydi emekti kısmı girdi sonrasında bakalım.

This story is ridiculously slow, I remember liking it more a couple years back than I do now… the Sushi storyline was so abrupt and kinda rushed in my opinion, oh well we shall what happens in the next volume…

Cute start to this one, but bittersweet towards the end. Very glad to have watched the drama first as I feel like I connected more with the characters on screen. But as always, I'm enjoying the story!
