Problems: Bratva is usually problematic in some form. And you're dealing with Russians. Our "hero" isn't all he seems to be! Neither is she. Surprise!
Bianca Cole brings us Andrei and Vera. At first, you're tempted to believe that our Bratva leader is a ruthless pig with absolutely no feelings. For show, he's absolutely ruthless and any other words one could use to describe the Russian mafia. However, we learn almost immediately that he attends these "auctions" to purchase females for a reason. He hates them, but goes for honorable reasons. This is where Andrei finds Vera. He's instantly attracted and wants to own her immediately. Sure, she seems as helpless as the other "girls" on auction. However, our Vera isn't what she seems to be. If Andrei can surprise you by not being nearly as heartless as the rest of Bratva, you haven't seen anything yet with Vera. Yes, the twist in this book is so different than anything I've read before in a Bratva themed book. Well done, Bianca!

Vera was determined to get revenge for her family's death by killing the man responsible for their murder. She sacrificed three long years of her life being brutalized and groomed to be part of an underground very illegal virgin auction run by the one man responsible for all of her grief.
I liked the way the author introduced us to Andrei first, with his revealing inner dialogue and POV, I was team Andrei from the first chapter.
As his upright (for a bratva pakhan) character was revealed to Vera, her deep attraction and responses to him made a bit more sense.
Lots of sad betrayal and brutality in their past lives, with their tragedy shared by a single evil source.
Vera and Andrei's relationship blossomed in the midst of blood, betrayal, and death.
Pretty romantic stuff for a mafia based romance.

Vera is a woman with revenge on the mind. Andrei is the target she has in mind to avenge her dead family. But everything may not be what it seems and Andrei is not how Vera was told what he would be. Andrei is a cruel and heartless man or so he outwardly appears to be. Through the development of the relationship between Vera and Andrei, Vera starts to realize that she has been played and taken advantage of. This book has a dark theme of human trafficking, which may be a trigger for some. But this book is well written and the plot is well developed in my opinion. I love a great dark romance and this one was exceptional.

after the death of her whole family, vera spent many years training for the day she gets to kill the man that ruined her whole life. she worked with her uncle and learned how to become a submissive slave for the auction. when it came time to be bought, the drive to get her revenge falters when she comes face to face with him. andrei 😮💨 this man is the ruthless pakhan of the new york brotherhood. he is known to be unforgiving and doesn’t have any softness in him. he is all of that but also knows who raised him, who he is, and where his morals lies. he keeps up his hard image by buying a girl every year at the auction. but he never fucks and discards. he offers them a choice between being his submissive or creating a new life for themselves with his help. when he meets vera, he didn’t know her true intentions was to kill him for killing her family. he just wanted her all to himself even if she chose not to be his, he would find a way to be in her life no matter what 🤭
these two quickly fell for each other !! it was super fast paced so i wished there was just a bit more character development for both mcs. i felt that it was just too rushed and the connection wasn’t really there. but you can just see how many these two love each other after all they’ve overcame 🥹 vera learns the truth about what happened to her family. and andrei got his revenge for what happened to his father. i absolutely adore them !! i can’t wait to continue to series omg

THIS WAS EASY TO READ, IT WASN'T INTENSE LIKE OTHER DARK MAFIA STORIES BUT IT WAS DEFINITELY SWEET.
ANDREI unlike most Pakhans had a great Father who loved him until the man was tragically killed in a bombing murder. At 30, Andrei stepped into his father's shoes and served as the new and youngest Pakhan in North America. Every year he is obligated to attend the underground virgin auction and this year is no different. He will buy one and then give her the option of staying to be his sexual partner or give her a decent job in one of his other homes. Unlike most mafia bosses, Andrei has heart and if that makes his soft, well at least he hides it well from his enemies UNTIL he meets the beautiful redhead virgin, Vera. Vera, who makes his heart beat wildly, who makes him hunger for her with a passion and finally the woman who will bring him to his knees. Sounds fantastic? Sadly it wasn't as intense as I'd hoped and even the sex was minimal....this was definitely not erotica. But, I still enjoyed the MCs easy chemistry.
VERA was sent and manipulated by her uncle to kill Andrei. When she finally meets the man, everything about him is off, he's not like the evil man she believed him to be and his kisses only confuse her. Everything about him will be her first and it disgusts her to enjoy his touch, when he is to be the enemy. Poor Vera. She was the victim no matter the perspective and well at least fate was kind enough to push her into Andrei's arms where he'll help her to take revenge against the uncle who killed her family and also for her to fall in love and have a HEA.
OVERALL this was a sweet mafia romance. Nothing intense and definitely no rape scenes.

What she can't reconcile though is the way Andrei makes her feel, and why is he treating her so well?Could she be wrong about everything?
This book seems to me more an enemies to lovers rather than a dark romance, there are many darker elements but there's also a tenderness about it that lifts it into the light. The connection between Vera and Andrei rows the more time they spend together and as they actually come to trust one another, something neither thought possible. There are many twists and turns and readers will be captivated by the quick pace of the story.

Mr Pakhan of New York is a secret soft boi (aka a pussy-ass bitch). I’m sorry, but... big-bad Pakhan with a heart of gold? I don’t and won’t buy it. He acted way too soft to have existed in that world for so long. Also, that plot armour!
Also, what the fuck was the chick gonna do if he didn’t buy her at the auction?? Bro, the chances of that happening—even with his taste for redheads—was slim. She was walking into such bullshit, but then again, she did have nothing else to live for—which honestly is a shame because her family would want her to live her best life instead of walking into a death sentence.
Any word with the prefix “dom” or “sub” in reference to dom/sub shit should not be used more than once per 100 pages of a book. This one almost had 200 pages and those words were used wayyyy too much. I can’t take anything seriously this way.

I really enjoyed this relatively quick read by Bianca Cole. I must say, I am not normally a huge fan of dark romance, however, this one had such a tenderness mixed with the revenge factor that I was truly enthrolled throughout the entire story. I kept flying through the pages just wanting yo know what happened next. Sorry, no overview here, as I don't want to give away even a hint of what this book entails!
You really NEED to pick up your own copy and read this one for yourself. If you are a Cole fan, or even if you have never had the pleasure, you will not be disappointed! Happy Reading!!

This was an amazing story. Such depth with the characters. There is revenge that turns to lust and love. There is adventure, action, crime, hate, and acceptance. I have found a new author to read. I have decided not to go into much detail as I hate having a story told to me that I would rather read. You won't be sorry if you like erotica and some D/s relationship. This was her plan. She finds out it was all a mistake. Both Vera & Andrei are both lost and need to each other. Their love brings them peace and love. Bianca did a great job!

I thought that this was a great read and an excellent start to this new series. I loved the hot chemistry between the Andrei and Vera and the overall feeling of growing tension in this dark romance. The storyline was very engaging and gritty. It held my attention easily with plenty of drama, emotional turmoil, romance, suspense and kink. I can't wait to see what comes next in future books. Here's another DNF. I stopped at 30 percent. There is no chemistry. She allows herself to be slave trafficked to get revenge on the head of the New York Russian mafia AND is a virgin. Ridiculous. The hero had potential but it didn't seem worth the trouble. The real kicker was the stupid submissive trope. It doesn't do it for me and we've seen it a million times. Boring dull dull boring. On to the next one.

This was a great bratva read. Auctioned virgins, danger and suspension. Betrayal coating the revenge of a girl who's only goal is to end the man who destroyed her family. Brilliant love hate romance with plenty of alpha possessive nature going on and feisty redhead playing by her own rules. Can't wait to read more.

This Bratva Pahkan has almost lost the capacity to feel for another human being. Women are nothing, except if they belong to Bratva.

4.5 stars - Vera isn't what she appears to be. Then again neither is Andrei. To get what they want, they play roles that bring them together and their chemistry is instant - even if denied - in this hot story that has plot twists, action, secrets, and lust-filled love. My first time reading a Russian bratva (mafia) style book. Have to say it was excellent. Bianca Cole hit the spot. Gave you a full insight into the life of a mob boss as well as the feelings and emotions. Vera the female main character in the story is written with such passion for the vengeance even after shes found the truth. A full in depth emtional feeling I felt when reading about the past and current experiences. Full of dark romance and sexual passions but written in such a way to not make the reader see it as such a cheesy awkward sex fest really. The author had the right words and ways of written this story. And she introduces you into potential future characters and their own personality. If I had to make any negative comment on the book in the slightest? Jumps slightly forward a bit in the time frame (2/3 weeks) and damn right shame it's not longer! Fantastic read. Truly have become a fan!

The concept was what got me excited about this story. Some parts for me were good. Vera started out as this strong woman being held captive to be sold because she was a virgin, however, there was a motive behind her being sold. Andrei, was very sexually hot based on how the author presented him to us. I appreciate the action and plot twist of the story.

Half way through I lost interest a little tiny bit. I really personally felt as though Andrei’s character was suppose to be ruthless but honestly he seemed like a teddy bear to me which isn’t a bad thing but I didn’t get ruthless most of the time. Vera once that feistiness was gone it brought it down a level for me.

Still liked the story and concept as I read towards the end. Still interested in the series and would like to see where the author takes this series.
