I literally love this series. I read the first three books in 24 hours. Legit consumed by it. It starts of similar to ACOTAR but then completely throws you for a loop. Not only do we have a morally gray shadow daddy, we have a morally gray shadow QUEEN! I’m living for these characters. My second TikTok recommended book and I’m so glad I bought the omnibus! There were moments I had to put the book down and take stock of the actual world around me bc I felt at times my heart was ripped from my chest.
Take that as you wish.
Highly recommend.

I’m going to keep this short; This story is pretty boring and bad. There are some moments—tiny ones—that I enjoyed. Would I recommend just because of these fun moments? No. Was it my fault I read the omnibus instead of the books separately? Probably. But it still feels way too long and there is no real goal or plot, it’s more like events happening.

The writing and story-building was and is bad but I liked the simple concept or idea. However, everything is just put so weirdly. I don’t know the premise of the world, all they really give is that there are fae, witches, and humans. Then out of nowhere, we suddenly have a Dragon (I did skim read though so I might’ve missed something… idk). There was also so much repetition. Whether it be the writing, relationships, characters, etc.

The end was kind of random and definitely bad. There was no real “villain”. And while I did understand why Malachi died the first time; there was absolutely no reason for him to die the second time. Especially so close to the ending; he was obviously going to live.

They built Jade and Malachi’s relationship to be some sort of symbiotic existence; they could not live without each other. On the topic of their “romance”—which is probably the only reason the author has written this book(although I don’t want to assume; only if they did). Which is pretty sad because not only were they kind of mediocre in their fantasy writing, their romance was so lifeless. Plus the fact they were “made for each other” puts me off even more. That is NOT a love story. Their relationship would take one step forward and proceed to take 2 steps back. I mean, in the end they do solve their problems with each other, get through their emotions, and end up loving each other. However, while there probably is love I think the most of it is the acceptance—which could be a part of what love is but I don’t know 🤷.

In conclusion, this book was not worth it. Actually, the only reason I have this book in the first place is because of TikTok and the fact that it was on a discount AND signed. It sounded like a deal. But what Is the point of a discounted book if it is not to my tastes? It is like buying something for the sake of cheapness rather than the quality or necessity or want.

I got about halfway through this Omnibus and even that was a chore.

This book DRAGGED. The storyline was all over the place. The character development felt rushed and a lot of times I felt SO CONFUSED on what was going on.

I am DNF'ing this here. I have absolutely no interest in sludging through this book to finish. I am surprised I got as far as I did.

Could not tell if this book was written by a dementia addled grandma or a child that has a short memory. Plot inconsistencies, the characters were very wishy washy with their feelings saying they felt one way and then were kissing and then touching each other the next. Also feels like a copy of ACOTAR and not a good one at that.

if i see the word saints one more time i might cry.
it's predictable, the characters were inconsistent at the beginning, and every other word (stg) is saints. it has potential to be better because the plot is alright. overall it's not awful though.

Enjoyed this read even though the development and build up of characters & their situations seemed very fast. There were times I was confused about character reactions or felt maybe the reaction was off compared to the info given thus far.

An unfortunate combination of an immature indie author, no editors or beta readers, and publishing work before it’s finished. Feels like a mash between ACOTAR and twilight, does develop into its own thing around book four, but it lacks in many areas (it’s important for authors to avoid reading in the same genre as their current work for this reason)- this could be a robust story, but falls flat. The characters are shallow, the world feels empty, little to no research was done and it shows, author clearly kept poor track of story elements, settings, characters, etc. The emotions ring hollow and it’s hard to feel a connection to the characters and invest emotionally into the book. It has potential, but it needs a heavy handed editor and another year of work. I ended up so annoyed and fed up I began editing it myself. Author also needs a lesson in diversifying language.
As a reader I feel it’s important to lay down detail to get your audience to understand what’s happening in your brain. Your readers don’t know anything you don’t tell them. So much potential in fantasy settings especially to really be creative. We go a whole 800+ pgs without a single vivid description of “silver wings”, certain things are emphasized and seem to be hinting at importance and then are never mentioned again, this supposed ancient organization is only a two day hike into the mountains? But a seperate kingdom is days on horseback?
Inconsistencies even in main characters, i.e; in book one Malachi is described as having feathers, in art I recieved with the omnibus he has bat wings - it’s never mentioned again until book five when he’s described as having leather wings.
Written nearly like a script for a show? Relies on visuals that don’t exist. Whole series is like this.
Certain chapters were enjoyable, hardly makes up for the rest of it.

I bought the omnibus version of this book on sale on TikTok. I regret my purchase. I tried to like this book, I truly tried. The author seemed more worried about the aesthetic of the book than the writing itself. This is my honest review:

1. The writing is odd and I had to re-read several paragraphs to understand what the author was trying to say.

2. There is no world building, I don’t know is the humans are the authority in this world or the fae. There is not enough exploring into this world to get a feel for it.

3. There are not enough descriptors in the writing, the writing is very generic. The readers don’t know what the characters look like. For instance, Jade is tall with black hair and high cheekbones; Malachi is tall with black wings. What do their faces look like? What are their eye colors? Malachi’s brothers have no descriptions at all, we have no idea what they look like. The buildings, the rooms, and other characters suffer the same fate. The most well fleshed out character is a palace guard whose friends with the prince.

4. Jade is infuriating. She doesn’t listen, she only wants her way, and she’s too immature of a fmc.

5. Malachi is supposed to be a shadow daddy. I don’t feel that energy from him period.

6. The story is boring and I couldn’t find any plot driven points, goals, or reasons for the characters to grow.

7. The book to seems to be a role play made into a large book with no real plot, goals, or story telling.

Save yourself the money, don’t purchase the book.

I started reading Fae of Rewyth in March of 2025, The book did not hold my attention at first and obviosly finishing it a WHOLE YEAR later it didnt hold my attention a lot of the time. I had to force myself through the book. This book was the first book I ever ordered off of Tiktok shop and it came damaged with multiple pages falling out and when I brought it to the authors attention she said she would send me a replacement. I sent her all the information of which one I bought and my order information and such. Well a year has literally flown by and she never sent me a replacement and that made me really upset. So yes I have held a grudge against the author and I am not sure if I ever want to buy another book from her again. Now while reading the book I loved Mal and Jade sometimes but other times they were just plain boring and I couldnt stop the thought in my head of is this book super similar to A court of thornes and roses? I havent read the books yet but I have seen fan made clips and snippets of the books. To me it just seems like too much of a coincidence that Mal is basically the same as Rhysand. Black wings, Shadow powers, etc....? Is this not a copyright issue? Idk I haven't read court of thornes and roses but after I do i'll be able to make an opinion about it hopefully and maybe be able to edit this review.

I saw the Midnight Edition and had to have it. It was definitively worth it! If you're going to read the series, make sure you have all 5 books. The first two books ended a bit strange and abruptly. I was confused by it but continued reading. This series absolutely gives ACOTAR vibes but with a YA perspective. I enjoyed every minute of reading this omnibus. Jade was definitively one of my new favorite MFC. Malachi was the type to feed off of her sass and personality. He is perfect for her. I am looking forward to more books by Blackwood. They make wonderful pallet cleansers when you still want fantasy/romantasy without all the spice. I don't mind the spice, but it is refreshing to read an authors work that can create a captivating, gripping story that truly doesn't even need it.

I liked the first two books and most of the third. Trials of Saints and Glory was probably my favorite of the series. Fun, easy reading. Some editing errors here and there (wrong pronouns, grammar issues) but not the worst in this genre. My biggest qualm came with the ending (spoilers ahead) - felt like it was all leading up to this big war and Malachi was going to be the reason Jade fell into her darkness etc and then within three chapters the battle is done, the Saints are cool with their relationship and peace rules the land. Felt like a lot of build up for a very quick unsatisfying climax.

Overall average rating is 4.15
Book 1- i'll give 5
Book 2- i'll give 3.5
Book 3- i'll give 4
Book 4- i'll give 4.5
Book 5- i'll give 3.75

This series was truly amazing! The first book really had me hooked from the get go. I admit it kind of lost me a bit going further but it wasn't awful. While the premise was a romance with Jade being married off to Malachi, this story became so much more than just a forced marriage situation. To me personally, the romance was less important to the story. I was more intrigued with the worldbuilding and the characters and the underlying political motivations.

I think what I read (or started reading, because I could not finish it, even though I make a point to finish what I started, even if it is a really bad book - the best example being that I forced myself through even 50 shades...) was not a fantasy novel but a badly executed first draft of a 14-16 year old for her "how to write for dummies" class. And the book is in desperate need of an editor, or at least someone who does not talk like a teenager. I managed to drag on until chapter 9 but got gradually more and more annoyed. The 2nd DNF of my life

in reality, this is a 4.5/5. i really loved this. watching the author’s writing development through these books was almost as beautiful as mal and jade’s story itself. sure, it could’ve used more spice, but also, it was lovely without it. my only real complaint is that these books weren’t longer. i wish we could’ve gotten more detail—some of the aspects of this book were incredibly rushed and jumping from one thing to the next. we probably could’ve gotten another 3 books at the same length or just longer versions of the existing 5.

what can I say about this series...first I love it was an omnibus but low key pissed that it will only count as one book on my count when it's 5. I loved to hear through Mal and Jades story. the different perspectives were interesting. I do wish as the reader wr got more from malachi point of view from his past but overall I would recommend this 5 book series. very limited spice and pretty much all close door type writing. the hond they share though was interesting.

Arranged marriages. He’s far, she’s human. Touch her and die. World building is minimal so nothing too crazy to try to follow. Closed door scenes so 🫑 not 🌶️. I appreciated this aspect. I don’t need the gory details. Lots of action. Hidden magic. Just a great palette cleanser after zodiac academy. There were some lot twists that definitely got me that I appreciated. I appreciated the whole series was only 820 pages versus one book being 800 pages. I will definitely read more from this author.

I bought the Midnight Edition of this book and it's genuinely one of the most strikingly beautiful books I own. Having said that, it was a slog to get through. The writing is ........ rough. The concept is interesting but the execution is sloppy. I'd love to see the author work with a good editor to clean it up because the bones of the story are good but there are lots of issues. Major issues with pacing, continuity, prose and character development.

I am absolutely in love with this series. I read the complete series in one weekend. Could not get enough of the adventures with Jade and Malachi. The fae world was beautifully written, and the human worlds clashed with it. Will definitely buy the series and feel in love with all the characters! If you're looking for a complete series with fae and adventure, this is the perfect read!

seriously? the sister Tessa is a right b**** . jade just risked her damn life to see her & Tessa just tosses her out! wha the hell? what a jerk. also, Jade's not getting off too lightly here. Shes kind of stupid here, her damn life is in danger & all shes doing is b****ing & griping that she wants to see her apparently ungrateful sister - how dense can you be? ugh. but still a good read.

Oh, dear. Uh, DNF'd at .06%. I had hoped that I would at least push myself to finish the first book in this omnibus, but every other page, I was telling the characters to shut up, I found them so annoying and clichéd.

This is probably the first book and the largest that I’ve been able to consume in over a week. It is so well written I highly recommend. I had been in our reading slump for several years and this book put me right back into my reading craze all over again.

This was a great story with a ton of potential. The entire time i was reading it I kept thinking what a great 3 part movie this would make but I wanted more information than the series gave and I admit the repeated "saints" line got pretty annoying. Over all I definitely enjoyed it though!

Enjoyed the writing style, some stereotypical tropes. Character development is good, ending is good.
