Men of Mayhem #2

De Luca: The Saint

Rate this book
Katherina Kennedy, collateral damage

Fear. Agony. Heaven.
Two things I am assured by knowing him and one I am owed for the life I lived before.
I thought my time in his sinful hands was far behind me, but I’m taken and thrown into a basement, where I hope for the bright light to take away the pain. With all the pieces coming together, there are decisions to be made, ones that will lead to someone’s demise, but the end result is all the same, with me far more broken than I ever was.

Damian De Luca, The Saint

Fear. Pain. Hell.
Two things I owe others for touching what is mine and one I am assured for my existence.
Kat should have been safe, far away from the war my brother started, but they found her, my one weakness, and they won’t shy away from using her in the cruelest ways. All that’s left inside is excruciating pain, and I vow to annihilate them all. Nothing will stop me, even if I destroy myself along the way.

Will Kat sacrifice herself, shedding her last bit of hope, or will Damian give what little he has left, sparing his lost love from an unthinkable act?

De Luca: The Saint is the second book in a series of standalones that should be read in order. The Men of Mayhem Series is for an 18+ audience and contains scenes that might not be suitable for all readers. Please see inside for content details.

I hate talking about myself. I'm awkward AF and write super spicy books with twisty plots. Most of my books are dark romance so always check the content warnings!

I like this book but I didn't like the FMC much. She could have been understanding since she already knew about MMC and what he does for work, still she chose to leave him. I mean what the hell.

Book Review:
What happens when you rescue a girl from a man who is trying to abuse her? What happens when you find her attractive and plans to take her home? What happens when you don't find her in your bed the next morning? What happens when you plan to find her and gets to know she is leaving? What happens when you gets her to agree and come stay with you? What happens when suddenly after a few days she says she can't live with you and she doesn't understand your world (the mafia world)? What happens when you come across her again after 2 years but this time you both are chained to a pole in an enemies basement? What do you think will now happen? What do you think your enemy has planned for you? How bad do you think the situation can get? Do you think it will impact your relationship if anything is left?

Tropes:
>> Mafia romance
>> Boss x employee
>> P!erced p**n
>> Kidn@pping
>> Mental health
>> R@pe
>> Trauma / Therapy
>> mention of Suic*de
>> HEA
>> Fast burn

If you find this book review and tropes interesting, do read this book because I surely loved MMC but not the FMC.

*BOOK REVIEW*
BOOK: De Luca: the Saint
AUTHOR: Chelle Rose
REVIEW: De Luca: the Saint follows Katherina Kennedy and Damian De Luca. Katherina starts to work at the bar that the De Luca boys own. One night, she's nearly @$$@ult3d by a bar patron. Damian steps in and nearly K!ll$ the guy and it frightens Katherina. This was how the pair met. They start a relationship but once Katherina finds out what Damian does, she ends the relationship out of fear. Little does she know, her real time of fear was about to begin when she's kidnapped. She has to make a decision that could cost someone their life, and she finds herself at the lowest she's ever been. Damian is beyond angry when he finds out that Kat was put in danger. She should've been safe from the war his brother started, but she's in a situation where she can easily be taken from him forever. He knows they'll use her in the cruelest of ways and won't hesitate to end her life. He's determined to get back what's his and he's willing to go to any ends to make sure she's brought back safe, even if it means his life ending in the process. This book was great. I loved the relationship with Damian and Katherina. When he called her Kitty Kat, my heart melted because here we have a person with a heart of stone, calling this woman a term of endearment. That was the first sign that the love they would eventually have was going to be real. At first, you think that she's just going to be a "hump and dump" but their love blossomed and she became so much more. The book had a lot of twists and turns, and a lot of scenes that played on my anxiety (in the best way)! I can't wait to read the next book in this series, because the books seem to be getting better and better as the series progresses!

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

I'm so loving this mafia world Chelle Rose has created. These books are so good.

In this book we actually get two stories. There's an out of this world, insta love not lust, actual love story. And then there's also a second chance romance.

I feel like books are getting longer and longer these days. And while I love slow burn sometimes I'm just in the mood for something fast paced with lots of drama. And Chelle Rose is perfect for that.

This book started out incredibly sweet and romantic but then it took a turn and got very dark. I do love my darkness. I loved seeing Kat and Damian work through the dark they'd been through. It wasn't easy but they got there in the end.

I greatly enjoyed this book. I loved the teaser for the next one, can't wait for that.

Oohhhh...deep breathes for this one readers. WOW...this is an intense and emotional journey for both Damian & Kat.

Damian DeLuca is known as "The Saint" but he is definitely more sinner than saint except when it comes to Kat. She is all consuming his thoughts and everything he never thought he wanted he wants with her. She is going to be his forever if she'll have him but they come from two very different worlds and he's not sure an Angel like her can survive in his world and he's not sure he would ever forgive himself if something happened to her.

Kat knew that her bosses the DeLuca's were not good people but she enjoys her job and she does it well. She never knew how much her world would change when Damian invites her to dinner. She shouldn't want him but she can't deny the need/attraction for him is off the charts. He's different with her and she should walk away but she doesn't know if she is strong enough!!

Their story is quite a mind trip! There are so many ups and downs with lots of triggers. Please check them because they are prevalent to the key elements of their story! Damian & Kat are such strong and resilient characters who you will fall hard for. Their journey to find each other is epic and unforgettable. I know you will thoroughly enjoy book 2 just as much. Some of our favorite characters make appearances and you will love the friendship that builds between Kat & Mia! Happy Reading!!

Spice 3.5🌶

Please check the Trigger Warnings before reading this book. This book is made for people who don't have trigger warnings!

I am such a fan of Chelle Rose and her DeLuca series. I've been waiting for Damian's book and she didn't disappoint with this one! This book is one that will grip your soul and take you for a deep ride. That's something I admire about this author. She can reach inside you and touch a piece of your heart with her books.

Kat comes from a totally different world than the DeLuca family. That doesn't do her from working with them. She is attracted to her boss, Damian. She knows she could stay away, but she just can't.

Damian, who also goes by the Saint, is not a great man. The world he lives in is full of bad. The only good in his life is Kat. He should send her away, make her get fat away from them, but he just can't.

The want and need is there between these two characters. You can feel their attraction and chemistry from the pages. All it took was one dinner with Damian, and she was hooked from there. Their relationship isn't one of ease. Damian is scared that he won't be able to keep her safe. He doesn't want anything to happen to her.

The twist and turns in this book will pull you along deeper and deeper. You have to know. No, you need to know what's going to happen. This book takes you on a journey that is emotionally painful and raw but also beautiful. It will have your emotions all over the place, but you can't put it down. The author draws you into this book, where you can't put it down. The journey between Damian and Kat is one worth reading. Hold on to your seat, though, because you'll be thrown for a loop.

I received this as an Advance Readers Copy by the author and this is my honest opinion. Please read the Trigger Warning ⚠️ 🙏

Wow, this was phenomenal!!! I read the first book in this series and now De Luca: The Saint did not disappoint. This was so good that I read it in one day. This book follows Damian and Katherina (Kitty Kat) story and all the hell that they had to go through. This is well written, gives excellent backstory and the characters are well developed. There were scenes that had my heart gripped and shedding a tear or two. The spice is superb. Even though we have a sexy mobster I love that he still has a sense of honor and the way he protects women. The way the De Luca men love has my twisted brain wondering how I get me one. Another this that I loved about the book that even though it talks about a rough trauma such as r@p3 we see the author take care of that character and let the reader know the importance of those actions, feeling and that to be able to get past it we must surround ourselves by good company, seek medical professionals and one must process anything negative that happens to us. You will not want to miss reading the end of the book giving a peek at what is to come, if I had book 3 let’s say I would have read it immediately.

**Do not take the TW lightly**

Favorite Quotes:

“Good girls don’t go to heaven, Angel. Bad girls do.”

“You can run, but I’ll find you. I’ll always F*cking find you.”

To the author: Thank you for such amazing creativity and captivating stories. The De Luca men were my favorite of 2023 and they are my favorite and top read of 2024. Please keep this coming.

First time Chelle Rose reader.

I love mafia storylines & themes, so of course I had to dive in.

Damian is Mafia, brooding - obsessed / possessive OTT man.
Living a lifestyle that only strengthens his need for consent & communication, even in his most unhinged moments. 😉🥵
Touch her & ☠️ literally.

“Good girls don’t go to heaven, Angel. Bad girls do. Spread those beautiful thighs and let me take you there.”

Kat - her entire life is upside down; and while trying to get by, she is thrust into the arms of a mystery man.

“The way he looks at me, like he’s a drowning man and I’m his lifeboat, is potent.”

With just a hint of OW - we have the recipe for one deliciously, spicy, angsty, journey & character development between these two.
A shared experience, that might have done irreparable damage - had they not found a way to each other.

The characters stubbornness and perseverance easily drove the pace, setting up the scene, but leaving you guessing what’s coming next!

“You’re like a cool rain on my face in one-hundred-degree heat. That first drink of water after crawling across the desert sand for days. I don’t know what this is. But whatever it is, I fucking want it.”

5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Damien is my new favorite 😍🥵💜

Y’all this book was freaking amazing and I’m so sad it’s over 😭 I loved Damien and Kats story so much it really touched me. It’s definitely a super trigger forward read so if you don’t like those kinds of story’s or are the least bit worried please check your warnings before picking this one up. I felt so much for the characters especially throughout the second part my heart was breaking for both of them and what they were individually going through. This book touched on so much and I loved it. These characters 100% deserved there happy ending after everything they went though to get to that point. There’s so much I could say about The Saint as a whole and Damien and Kat but I don’t wanna give to much of anything away. I will say tho if you cry easy have some tissues on standby But that spice was perfect the BDSM representation was wonderfully written and I loved all of it. Definitely a 4/5 on the spice scale. I honestly didn’t think that any of the brothers would beat Dominic as my favorite DeLuca but Damien proved me way wrong🥵 This book is a must read if your good with the content definitely a 5/5 stars. And I can’t wait to read all of Chelle’s upcoming works, especially getting more about the rest of the brothers 😍 Thank you so much for writing another amazing word baby girl 💜💜

Damian DeLuca: They call him "The Saint" but he is definitely not a saint. He has more blood on his hands than anyone. After what happened to his mother and sister, he made it for his mission to rescue woman and help/protect them.

Katharina: Kitty Kat/Angel needs a job and starts working in the club of the DeLuca Brothers. She is strong, sweet and always wants to be independent. When almost an incident happens at the bar, Damian is there and helps her and their story begins at this moment...

Like the first book of the Series, this story is well written and it gives an excellent backstory and u can read their character development. Damian and Kat had a connection from the beginning and it was just amazing. The chemistry between them and the spice scenes were perfect. I can tell their story has lot of ups and downs, twists and turns, heartbreaking moments, trauma healing, what they had to go through was tragic.. and can tell Damian and Kat had their own beautiful HEA.

Check definitely the TW List first before reading.

And now Im looking forward to read Drake, Dante & Natalia's story. "When two brothers are obsessed with one woman." 👌

I loved this book even more than the first one. Chelle's books just keep getting better and better. Damian and Kat are explosive as a couple and their sex scenes burn up the pages!

This is a fast, in your face burn and better hang on for the ride. Read the triggers because there are a lot but given that this is a dark romance, you know that it fits and it makes this story so much more.

Some of the emotional scenes between "Saint" and " KittyKat" broke my heart and especially one scene in particular, my heart cried and shattered for Damian. Having to do something he absolutely hated to save the only woman he has ever even thought of loving almost breaks him and sends their relationship on a turn they aren't sure they will ever come back from. This killed me!!!

I wanted these two together for this whole book and having to go through such a road map of twists and turns to get them there, really took a toll on my emotions. I read this book in one sitting because I was so addicted to their story and had this intense need to know how they ended up.

A fantastic read and I am excited for the next book in the series!

The Saint left me absolutely speechless. Without a doubt, this is the best Chelle Rose book so far!

De Luca: The Devil ended on a huge cliffhanger and I was dying for this book as soon as I finished book one. It absolutely did not disappoint. Damian is in my top 5 favorite MMCs of all time. His character was so complex and beautiful, I was in love with him from the first page. It's not common to find an MMC like him in a mafia romance, but it was so welcome!

The plot was downright phenomenal and the pacing was perfection! I loved every single second of the read. There was so much emotion in this book, I cried several times, laughed out loud and felt angry right alongside the characters. It was beautifully done!

Y'all. The spice. Holy moly it was so good! There were a ton of Dom/sub interactions and even a bit of BDSM which was a really fun addition to the book. I loved all the scenes so much!

I'm already dying to get my hands on book three!

This is a very dark romance, so definitely check trigger warnings before diving in. But if you do, you are going to love it!

🖤 ARC REVIEW 🖤
Rating: 4/5 ⭐
Spice: 4/5 🔥

De Luca: The Saint by Chelle Rose had me hooked from the start just like book one! This dark mafia romance was like a shot of adrenaline straight to my heart. The fast burn love between Damian, the ruthless mafia boss, and Katerina, the fierce dancer, was SO intense! Their worlds clashed in the best way possible, with danger lurking around every corner but the heat between them was off the charts.

The story was a total page-turner. Seriously, I couldn't put it down! The action had me on the edge of my seat and the steamy romance scenes left me needing a cold shower. The only downside? I kinda guessed what was gonna happen next sometimes, but who cares when the ride is this fun?

Overall, De Luca: The Saint was a WIN in my book. It's perfect if you're looking for a dark, thrilling read with a side of heart melting love that'll leave you wanting more. Just be warned, to always check those trigger warnings! This story deals with some heavy triggers but handles them very well.

After book 1, I was really keen to see how Damian and Kat's story began, and to see where it could end.

Damian is a complex man, tortured by the events earlier in his life and what happened to his mother and sister. He's still a bad guy, as far as he's concerned, but he also dedicates his time to saving women, and protecting them. Honestly, this man has so much soul, I was smitten really fast.

Kat got caught up in the whirlwind of Damian's life, and they were hot and sweet together, until they were parted, and that's where it got dark. I'm not the kind of person who cries when I read, although I do have heartstrings, and they were tugged hard, when I read the second half of their story.

Trust me when I say really bad things happen to them, and how they try to survive after is heartbreaking. Did I think 'The Saint' had heart in part one? In part two, wow. Just read it, because it's beautiful and tragic all at once.

DeLuca, The Saint is not a Saint but he is not all bad. Damian is given the nickname “The Saint” because he rescues women from harm. This stems from past events involving his mother and sister being harmed by their enemies. The book opens up with Damian stopping a man from harassing one of his employees at his club – Katherina Kennedy i.e. Kitty Kat. The attraction is immediate for Damian however Kat is guarded and trying to survive. She is scared to get involved with him. She knows what he is however that does not prevent harm coming their way. He falls first and falls hard. Kat burns for Damian. Even when they are a part for two years, she only wants him. There are many dark places in this story for both characters; however, they end up at a good place.

De Luca: The Saint, the second nook in the Two Men of Mayhem Series by Chelle Rose was yet again another intense and utterly riveting ride into the deep darkness of the mafia world and I was 100% there for it because Damian and Kats are everything!

Damian, aka the Saint, is as deadly as he is gorgeous and he pulls our sweet little heroine Kat in as fast as can with his devilish dirty talking ways and boy do things escalate quickly! But regardless of how fast and burning hot their chemistry was it couldn’t last long as differences pulled them apart. Until fate in the form of the De Luca rivals pulls them back together again. Can Kat survive this dark and deadly world or is she doomed from the start?

If you love a ride on the dark side then this is definitely one for you! However please be sure to check the trigger warnings because this is definitely one dark and trigger happy roller coaster of a ride!

This book was so well written. Its difficult for me to become so attached in the first few chapters. I fell fast and hard for this man.

This book is a very very fast burn. It however doesnt feel like it. It catches your breath so fast and it spice feels so natural. It makes you feel conflicted but you can feel your self falling down the hole.
When you think it couldnt hurt any more it. just. keeps. going. This book is definitely one i found my self wanting to throw my kindle and cry. (check triggers) But I promise that the hurt is work it but thank goodness Chelle has such a great way of bringing this book back around to heal your heart.

Lots of spice, great story line, you definitely wont see this one coming. Spice is DEVINE!

Damian's Favorite Flavor

Chelle Rose, girl, you deserve around of applause for this book. You made Damian my favorite De Luca brother in the series. He stole my heart with how much he loved Kat and how he was possession of her. The touch her and die kind of possession. I became very jealous of Kat. Specially whe he said things like this to her:

"You, Angel. All you. You're my favorite flavor."

The scenes between Kat and Damian were so hot that I thought my Kindle was going to melt at times. They were that spicy. The way he introduced her to the world of S&M had me fanning myself at times. This man took full control of her body and showed her a whole new world of pain and pleasure.

Now, there were times when you had my emotions all over the place. I wanted to throw my Kindle. I woke my other half a few times because I was yelling no and wtf. I definitely did not see certain parts coming.

This book was so worth the wait. I can't wait for the third book in the series to come out. I know it will be just as good as the first two were.

OMG Chelle Rose does NOT DISAPPOINT again!!!! Damn girl you make me shed tears every time 😭.

You have Damian who’s know as Saint but is more of a Sinner. The way this man talks dirty oh my….. He’s Tall, tattoos and has 🍆 piercings 😍
Kat is so innocent, good but very independent. Kat is Damian’s light in the dark. They are both complete opposites but as the saying goes “opposites attract”.

I love how this story has the past and present timeline.

I have been ARC reading for Chelle for a while now and I can definitely say that the way Chelle writes if so full of emotion it’s breathtaking.

⚠️ CHECK TRIGGER WARNINGS PLEASE, READ AT OWN RISK.

This book is incredibly dark so please check trigger warnings. Damian was not looking for love but quickly found it in his sassy employee, Kat. Kat was barely scraping by and found herself in the grips of a De Luca. It didn't last long, she walked away after realizing his lifestyle wasn't something she could handle. 2 years later they cross paths and it changes both of their lives.
Damian is a great MMC, he's a Mafia man with standards. He protects women and children from trafficking, but still has no problem unaliving the ones who do harm to women. This is a fast burn, dark romance with BDSM.

Chelle Rose at her best!!

After reading Book One in this series I was excited to see what Chelle had in store for Damien and Kat.

Knowing the history of the De Luca family, we know that Damien has the nickname of The Saint but he is anything but a saint! And oh how I like my book men dark and dangerous!

The early chapters in the book concentrate on Kat and Damien’s initial meeting and subsequent relationship and Kat does seem to bring out a different side to Damien.

However, the couple come from completely different worlds and their relationship doesn’t make it but what is meant to be will always find a way!

Now, the next section of the book is a hard and emotional read and I would strongly advise that all TRIGGER WARNINGS are heeded and not taken lightly, some may find it a difficult read. But if you take the journey with this author she gives us a heartbreaking and soul shattering story; wrote with such tenderness, heart and love.

I am a sucker for dark romance and Chelle is one of the best authors out there, you won’t be disappointed!

I am becoming a huge fan of Chelle Rose and I have been fortunate enough to read a couple of her books and I am hooked. I am loving this series so much. Damian is your alpha moody, possessive mafia man and he has his sights on his Kitty Kat and he will stop at nothing to protect her and love her all at the same time. He is a sinner and also a saint. This book is fast paced and dark and some of the scenes may be triggering but it is a great story that will have you hooked. Most definitely I highly recommend this series. Cannot wait for the next book.

I received an arc copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

going to top Dominic but she absolutely hit it out of the park with Damian.

Damian wasn’t looking for love but found it in his beautiful sassy employee and Kat..…she didn’t think she could live in his world so she leaves….thats the best choice for her…right?!

The things this man is willing to do to free her…to free them is the definition of a man willing to do anything for the woman he loves.

This is absolutely a must read! And if you haven’t read Dominic and Gia’s story then you need to ASAP! Chelle and her DeLuca men done disappoint!

One thing first...check the trigger warnings. I did, I always do, I knew what was coming and even then I couldn't read the kidnapping situation and the forced r*pe (and I am a seasoned dark romance reader).
I'm also a mood reader and this time I didn't feel the need to suffer that much. I could bear it with the first DeLuca book because it was mainly off page.
Moving on...
Ridiculous timeline as usual with this author. Fast paced is an understatement. Really liked the MMC, the FMC not so much, but they were a nice couple. Maybe that's why I found the "bad things happened to them" more difficult this time.

Overall, I need a break from this kind of dark.

I have never been happier for two characters to get their happy ending than i am for Damian and his Kitty Kat.

The two mc's got through horrible trauma, and not gonna lie, at some point, i wasn't sure how they would find their way back to each other.

The Saint was a hard read. I cried a lot. But it's the books that get you emotional that stick with you the longest, isn't it?

Katherina is snarky and and allows herself to talk to big bad Damian in a way no one else does. But that's exactly what makes him so attracted to her and what he needs.

I loved this book. It was steamy and dark and perfect for me! 100% recommend!!

After reading The Devil, I was hooked on the De Luca family. The cliffhanger at the end was brutal. I absolutely had to find out what happened to Damien. The Saint exceeded all my expectations! We find out why Damien is so broody. The love story between him and Kat is full of ups and downs. Sparks fly from the very first moment. Later it gets extremely dark. Chelle Rose's Mafia book series is captivating, fast paced, and sleep inducing because you can't put the book down until you know how it ends.
I'm ready for Drake and Dante's story.

I read the first book in this series and wasn’t sure Chelle could make me feel for Damian the way I did for Dominic… but she did it! Right from the first part of the book where the back story of Katherina (Kat) and Damian, him watching her leave was not even the worse of it all! What Damian did to save Kat from the basement and what he went through after that.. dear lord Chelle really pushed me to love Damian! No spoilers but the basement chapters, those were the ones that made me like him so much.

I love the series, this is a definite recommendation and a 4.5 out of 5 stars!!

“Shh, be a good girl. Take it like I know you can.”

I thought The Devil was good, but the Saint?? De Luca The Saint was amazing. Do you know those books that make you want to reach through the screen/page and shake the main characters? I felt that so many times reading this because they can't communicate on anything but the smut!
But really, though I couldn't get enough of Damian and Kat, they sucked me into this book and refused to let go. I need the third book in this series, like now.

okay, Chelle, I see you, I see you 👀 🥵 this was h o t, hawt.

De Luca the Saint is called a saint, but don't get him wrong, he's no saint. Or is he? Blurring the lines between Saint and Savage, De Luca, the brother to Dominic from the first book, has set his eyes on Katherina - Kat - Kennedy. And neither of them will be the same again.

Chelle Rose never fails to impress me and you'll be hard pressed to find a book I don't like by her.

I'm reviewing this book completely unbiased and I'm thankful for the opportunity to do so.
