Jared James was a self-made billionaire but money could not buy the one thing he wanted most, Elisabeth with an 's' whom he nicknamed Lizzie. On the night he proposed, she turned him down (or did she really?) and he turned around and walked away, leaving his driver to care for her and see her home. He didn't stick around long enough to hear her explanation. So, he immediately escaped to his Gansett Island oceanfront home to grieve his loss. He ran on the beach every morning, though of Lizzie constantly, wept and mourned the loss of her by his side. He had made a few new friends who helped keep him occupied occasionally and get his mind off of her. After 40 days of mostly solitude he decided it was time for him to do something nice for his new friends as a thank you for what they had done for him, inviting them to a dinner and swim party.
Lizzie Sutter knew she had no right seeking out Jared. After all, he would not return her phone calls or answer her texts, but she knew she had to assure him of her love for him even if he turned her away. Jared lived a billionaire's lifestyle with anything and everything he wanted at his fingertips...including a lot of women, but that was before Lizzie. Lizzie was not at all comfortable with the kind of wealth Jared had and the extravagant way he lived his life. She lived a frugal life and was very uncomfortable with his financial status. She had not expected a proposal of marriage yet and absolutely panicked when he got down on one knee.
This is another Marie Force must read. I highly recommend this book. It was a sweet, wonderful love story that you won't want to miss.

Felt good to be back in Gansett Island after a really long time.

Marie Force surprised her readers today with the unscheduled release of her novella, "Chance for Love." It's a fabulous addition to the popular Gansett Island series and, without reservation, I wholly recommend this one.

Marie Force is usually and auto buy for me. Love the Gansett series, the Fatal series and her "stand alones". This was an unexpected surprise release, the price was also a surprise - $4.21 (this is the price I am quoted from Amazon.com, as a European customer) - no way - I nearly begrudge paying that for a full length novel, let alone a novella. Thanks to Anne OK for lending it to me, much appreciated.
A quick read, ok, it is a novella but I would have liked a longer story to get to know Jared and Lizzie a little bit more.

Any time that I get to read about my favorite island and people, I am happy. This is the story of Jared James and the woman who broke him when she refused to marry him. Elisabeth has found Jared and is going to explain why she turned him down. They both still love each other. I did have a few problems with Elisabeth. She by far isn't my favorite character from Gansett. I didn't care for her stubbornness concerning Jared's money. While I understand wanting to stand on your own, when someone who can make your life easier tries, you accept. I guess my thinking comes from not being rich and wishing that someone like that could make a difference in my life and those that I love. Anyway, this is a novella so it is short. But, it still packs a punch. You get to visit David, Daisy, Alex, and Jenny in this book with a short visit by Ned. Looking forward to Owen and Laura's wedding and learning more about my favorites from the island.

Marie Force never disappoints!
Gansett is my favorite place to escape to. I love meeting a new a couple and watching them fall in love. I love seeing them break down the walls just for their happily ever after. Marie does a bang up job of giving you that small taste of the island life in the first Gansett novella. Jared arrives in Gansett during Time for Love and we see him again in Meant for Love. In this novella, Lizzie arrives to try and apologize for having broken his heart. What she doesn't realize is that the outcome will be better than she ever expected.
Chance for Love helps sooth that craving just a tad when it comes to reading about your favorite couples. I can't wait for the next installment. I have no clue who the next couple will be but I know Marie will not disappoint us.

If, like me, you cherish the pilgrimages to Gansett every few months, this book is perfect.
We've met Jared before, the poor soul, and this is the perfect book for him; there's not enough for him to have his own full length book, but his and Elisabeth's story deserved more than it being included in the next. This couple will have an important place on the island in the future...
It's romantic, sexy and left me with a smile on my face and a warm heart. I loved it and it's fed the beast in me that craves my visits to the island.

This was short but sweet. After meeting heartbroken Jared I was predisposed to dislike Lizzie, but she really had a good reason for saying no. This story gives her take on things and allows her a second chance to find the guy she loves. Also, Jared is pretty amazing. Most people are not going to spend millions of dollars just to make their friends happy, but for him it's a natural thing. Love these two and love that they can bankroll future businesses on Gansett.

non c'è capo o coda perchè tutto è un andare avanti e indietro nella storia, gli altri protagonisti della serie sono praticamente delle figurine messe a caso
i due protagonisti non si capisce cosa vogliono fare: un momento lui è disperato è piange, quello dopo fa un barbecue, e lei un minuto è lì e quello dopo ha cambiato idea
davvero stona con tutto il resto della serie ma la force ha die omenti così nei suoi libri

Their lifestyles were as diametrically different as two lives could be. She was low-budget, low-key, low-maintenance. He was all cash, dash and flash.
I'm on the fence about what I think about Chance for Love. I love that Marie Force dropped a surprise book on us. As a big fan of the series, I was excited to get a taste of Gansett Island unexpectedly. I was even more excited when I read that it was Jared's story. I've been interested in Jared's since he was introduced two books ago. (I have a soft spot for handsome, billionaires that are heartbroken!).
I think my problem with Chance for Love is two fold. First, I'm not sure the novella gave me enough time to really spend with Jared. I would have liked a full length novel. Secondly, I'm not sure I liked the HEA he was given. I'm not disappointed exactly...I think I have just gotten use to all the lost souls that end up on Gansett Island finding someone new, someone wonderful, someone they never expected to find...I think in the back of my mind I was hoping that Jared was going to meet someone new that would rock his world and make him forget about Lizzie.
I did like Chance for Love, but I didn't love it. That's just a personal thing because obviously I had plans for Jared that Marie Force did not know about =) I also thought $2.99 was a bit steep for a 85 page novella. $1.99 seems a fairer price. But overall, I appreciate that the author's kept this popular series lendable and fairly priced on the full length novels so it wasn't a big deal to pay a little more than I waned for Chance for Love. If you are a fan of the series, I'd recommend picking this one up. It's a short read but as always with this series, enjoyable.

The main characters in Chance For Love are Jared, a billionaire and Elisabeth "Lizzie", a worker at a shelter for abused and battered women. These two characters are both well-written. The chemistry between both of them is strong, even though both of them are heart-broken. The banter between them is serious, but that's to be expected considering their history. The sex scenes between them are hot and tender. Since this is a novella, we don't get to see a lot of the past characters that we have grown to love in this series. We do get to see Daisy and David and Jenny and Alex. Which is expected since they are the only ones that know Jared and his past with Lizzie.
The concept of the book was sweet. And the plot was well-written. I only wish that we could of had a novel instead of a novella. I really liked Jared in the last two books, and was hoping that he would get his own book. And even though it was only a novella, it was still really good. I finished it in less that 3 hours.
Overall, it was a great addition to The McCarthy Series. And I cannot wait for the next book with Owen and Laura! My favorite couple.

This is a novella. It’s a surprise bonus from Marie Force for her readers that can never get enough of Gansett Island. This is a continuation of Jared’s story. We first met Billionaire Jared James in Time for Love when he returns to his house on Gansett Island with a broken heart after his girlfriend Lizzie refused his marriage proposal. After 40 days of nursing his broken heart, Jared wakes up and decides to accept that it’s over. He arranges for a cookout for the friends that helped him thru his worst time.
Lizzie knew almost immediately that she made a terrible mistake turning down Jared’s proposal. She’s been trying to track him down ever since. After daily visits to Jared’s office, his personal assistant finally tells her where he is. It was heartwarming to see Lizzie was persistent to find out where Jared went and to try to make things right. They made compromises and found that money doesn't buy love. We see glimpses of some of our favorite island couples and I look forward to reading about Jared and Lizzie in future books.

Lizzie made a mistake. She unintentionally hurt Jared and wants him to see she still loves him. Never stopped loving. Will he forgive her, can she fix what could possibly have destroyed them?
The story is perfect, light read (sexy as only Marie could provide)that brings us back to our happy island. In true title fashion, this installment is about another chance to make things right. The characters reflect on who they are, what they are, and where they are going from here. You can't help but fall in love with the new characters that might impact the amazing island of Gansett.
This is a cute, must read if you are enamored with this place like most of us are.

Ready for more Gansett Island!
Like all of Marie Force's books, I experience a sadness at the end of the book because I know I have to wait for her next book release to read a great romance. Marie's development of characters, tales of romance and sweet seduction is unique and refreshing. I must admit that I wasn't originally a fan of Lizzie's for dumping billionaire Jared after a heartfelt proposal. I couldn't relate to anyone not wanting to marry someone because they have too much money. (Ha!) However, Marie Force has a way of drawing you in and making you fall in love with each and every character. I was soon desperately hoping Jared and Lizzie would get their happily ever after. I can't wait for another Gansett Island book to get updates on past characters and read the development of new characters and their epic love stories.

This is one of the series that actually got me reading books like crazy! I picked the first book up in this series a little over a year ago and I have been hooked on every book that comes out. I seriously will sit down and read the entire book in one day. And this newest book in the McCarthy’s of Gansett Island Series was no different. It was a little shorter than I wished it would have been but it was fantastic. Jared had me interested from when we saw him in Jenny and Alex’s story and I was happy to hear that he ends up finding his true love again! I want to Thank Marie for writing so quickly to keep up with us demanding readers. I can’t wait for the next in this series to come out. This is a book you don’t want to miss!

Thank you to Marie Force for spending her Christmas vacation writing this novella for the fans of the Gansett Island series.
This was a short, yet very enjoyable read about Jared and the love of his life, Lizzie, whom he thought rejected him.
It is always nice to visit with old friends from the Island. This time
David, Daisy, Alex, and Jenny make an appearance along with Ned, Victoria and her Irish sweetie. Unlike most of this series, there is only a mere mention of the McCarthy family.
It would have been nice to have read more about the shower/bachelor party that was held, because the ladies of Gansett Island always make any celebration so entertaining. Who knows, maybe the event will be mentioned in an upcoming book.
I rate this a 4.5.

It's like returning home, every time I visit Gansett Island. I love this place, I love these people, and I love Marie's writing. Jared may not have been a main character in this series, but I was equally intrigued to read his story. His heartache was palpable, and I just wanted to give him a huge hug. Jared and Elisabeth had the kind of love that everyone hopes to find, until she reacted badly to his proposal. A gut reaction that broke his heart and sent him away. I could feel his devastation and her desparation to find him. I really enjoyed reading this novella and getting another glimpse into Gansett Island. I can't wait for more, and I'm hoping that includes more Jared and Lizzie.

A couple of months ago, my BFF texted me and asked me about a character, he was rich and kind of a recluse and what series was that? We racked our brains and it did not come to either of us at the time. THEN, we read Marie Force’s Meant For Love (Jenny and Alex’s book) and poof! We remembered that it was JARED (broken hearted hermit like guy) and that we met him in Time For Love (David and Daisy’s book). We both felt like there was a story there for Jared and we hoped we would get it in one of the upcoming books.

Marie Force has a rare talent; she can tell a story so that it wraps you up, hold you to it, it moves smoothly, continuously, fluidly, and keeps you with the characters even long after you read the book.
Chance for Love is no different, you fall in love with the characters as soon as you meet them (most in previous Gasett Island books), you invest in them, cheer for them, shed a tear with them.
I loved the story, it gave a great inside to Jared and Elisabeth, both into their relationship and their personalities, how they operate. There was a lot of story for a novella.
And like always, it is a pleasure to visit with the other friends from Gasett Island.

Is Marie Force the Beyonce of Romance novels? Well she sure surprised us with this novella!
I am glad that Jared got his story. I had been wondering about him from the get go and it was finely nice to dive deeper into he and Lizzie.
A great quick read that added another new resident to Gansett and provided a nice HEA for Jared. Also, always good to catch up with the rest of the Gansett crew!

Another fabulous story from Gansett Island!! I love love love this series and every character! This novella introduces Jared and Lizzie, Gansett's newest additons. Jared is the billionaire that owns the house where David lives and rents. I never get tired of how this island brings people together. It was a sweet story and quick read!! This time we got to watch (and I say watch because anytime I read one of these books it plays out in my head like I'm watching a video) Jared's story, which we've all been wanting, and it was a surprise book drop!!! I loved this novella, it was a perfect addition to the series!!

This book was just as great as all the rest of the Gansett series great great and great. I can understand why Marie Force decided to do a novella about Jared and Elisabeth, because their are not one of the main characters, but finding out about their lives, what their do and how their met was really great. Am also glad that their got married in the end. Please hurry with the next one.

Loved this book.. it was short and sweet. Loved Jared from the moment I met him and this book did not disappoint. Looking forward to seeing and reading more of Jared and Lizzie.. they are apart of the family now. Thanks for this surprise Marie.
