This book can be read as a standalone. I was surprised by the number of references to the Brotherhood Protectors that were on other teams. If you haven't read the previous books about some of the teams other than Watchdog, the references shouldn't be too confusing.

I am going to be honest. I was not feeling Liberty. I did not appreciate the way she reacted to the medical examiner's assistant. I didn't dislike her until she pulled her "save the day" moment.

That irritates me coming from most characters in a book, especially when they have no type training and they are Insinuating themselves into a mission that they would not/should not been allowed to attend. It is a pet peeve of mine.

Asher was all right. I wasn't feeling anything about his character one way or another. The romance wasn't "romancing" for me. Liberty, Justus, and Chaney's aftermath reactions were anticlimactic.

I did like Silas, Frank, and Dr. Palmer.

I would give this book 3.25 stars. It was not a rollercoaster ride of action, suspense, and danger, but it had its moments.

I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

The book was great because it kept me interested with the story line, danger, suspense and some humor, especially with Solar and Frank, two journalists retirees. Liberty ended up in Fool's Gold looking for her sister and her friend when they went missing. Asher is one of the guys on this new team, they are Air Force retirees. Excellent read with a HEA.

In the prologue of this book, we meet Liberty. She's just flown in from New York for a planned shopping trip with her sister Justus. Only she finds her sister and her best friend Chaney went on a camping trip over the weekend and didn't return. They went with Justus' new boyfriend Kurtis and one of his friends. The whole thing makes Liberty very suspicious. She gathers as much information from the roommates as she can, warns them to lock their door and leaves. She's seen a lot as a civil liberties lawyer and doesn't have a good feeling.

Liberty is traveling through Ute Pass to Fool's Gold Colorado having already reached dead ends in both Garden of the Gods and Seven Falls, where the girls were supposedly headed. She's already tried calling the girls and then filed a missing person report with the Colorado Springs police. Liberty is feeling really guilty for not spending more time with her sister, the twelve-year gap is a lot and having to raise her once their parents died, moved them into a different relationship. She is thinking of all of that when her car starts shaking and then backfires. She checks the gauges and she's out of gas, she shouldn't be she just filled the tank as she left Colorado Springs, half an hour ago. She got out of the car trying to get a cell signal, then someone starts shooting at her.

Asher is on his way back to Fool's Gold after his morning climb near he calls Three Guys Garage, before he reaches the vehicle since cell service is spotty up here. When he approaches, he hears someone yell get down and take cover. Someone is shooting. He gets back to his truck and approaches the car from the other direction so the driver can get into his truck. He drives away for a bit before pulling over to talk to the woman.

Liberty explains she was heading to Fool's Gold and what had happened. She doesn't know why anyone would be shooting at her, she's not from around here. Once Asher knows the garage truck is almost there they meet it at her car so she can get her purse. It's then that they introduce themselves more formally and she tells him she's looking for her sister and her friend as they drive into Fool's Gold.

Breakfast and phone calls are on the top of the list for Asher to get things organized to help find the missing women. First stop is Maddie's Diner and Breakfast.

From the diner, Asher calls Swede to get him started on the cell phone numbers as they head to meet with Jocelyn. Asher leaves her with Jocelyn while he heads to a meeting with his team. Later they would file a full report with the sheriff. Before that Liberty needs to check into the bed and breakfast and have a nap. She can't keep going on no sleep.

The meeting with Jake and the other Brotherhood Protector teams centers on the new information of a crime ring functioning in or near Fool's Gold. They know drugs are involved and quite possibly sex crimes as well. With that in mind, Asher shares what happened with Liberty this morning and the information on the two missing girls. The information Swede found puts the crime ring somewhere in the vicinity of Ute Pass, it's also noted to be wary of a sniper in that area now. Jake puts Asher on Lead for this since he's already close with Liberty.

We meet some interesting characters like the coroner Dr. Millard Palmer and the two retired reporters, Frank and Silas. We also see Rita, RJ, JoJo, and Sparrow along with Asher's teammates Mason, Cruz, and Kent. Jake is around for all of it too.

This is a very emotional book, and Asher does everything he can to help Liberty up her protective skills while she insists on continuing her own search for Justus and Chaney.

There's laughter, tears, action, attraction, romance, and sizzle too.

I really love this multi-author mini-series in the Brotherhood Protectors World.

A families worst nightmare

Liberty had hoped she was overreacting...but her worst nightmare was true. Simultaneously knowing too much and not enough about young girls being trafficked Liberty struggles to keep functioning and keep her hopes up- it is a heartbreaking situation to be in and your heart hurts for the pain and anguish she suffers. But Asher is determined that the woman who is working her way into his heart will not suffer any more heartbreak or loss, his mission is not only to locate and rescue Justus and Chaney, but to protect Liberty and her heart.
Whilst I enjoyed Asher and Liberty's journey to HEA there are a number of frustrating typos - such as 'hoovering' instead of 'hovering', and we have parts of the plot that are mentioned repeatedly but then there is no conclusion, they are left dangling, in this case the shooting. It happens more than once and then is referred to more than once but it is not solved or tied back to the case - so we have no idea of the relevance or if it was a completely separate incident.
So whilst I enjoyed most of it I am also frustrated, I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

This was probably a three and a half star read for me, and I’m rounding up because it kept me entertained. Asher remained a bit of an enigma at the end of the first book, so I was very interested in finding out who he really was. However, I’m not sure I really got to know him other than to say that other people saw him as a good and honorable man. Liberty frustrated me a bit. I really liked her fierce independent spirit, but it also caused her to do some things that left me giving her a judgmental side-eye. There were a couple of “too stupid to live” moments and I was gnashing my teeth in frustration over her performance in the climactic battle scene of the story. The mystery they were chasing down was intriguing and kept me guessing. I loved seeing Asher and Liberty get their Happy Ever After ending, yet I’m still looking for closure about the bad guys.

I am enjoying this series. I have read several other of the Brotherhood Protector series including some of the originals by ElleJames. It’s an interesting idea to invite other authors to expand on your characters and ideas. It’s like seeing old friends. Some times it does feel a bit crowded with so many people thrown in and not enough development of the mcs.

The low 3 stars is for the editing or lack of editing. For example what does this run on sentence mean: “The drive didn’t take long she was getting used to the area one because they started talking about gun safety and before they finished running through what she’d learned the day before they had arrived at their destination.” There are more where I have to stop and figure out what is the meaning.

I feel Ms. Tyler rushed this book out and didn’t proofread it very well.

For some reason I just didn't gel with Liberty in this book half the time I wanted to smack her at the side of the head and tell her to wake up to herself She seemed to be one of those women that it was all about her She didn't do enough for her sister She wanted to be involved in the case it was all me me me and consequently I think that Asher came over a little wishy washy he needed to stand up to her and tell her to wake up to herself I did like that we got to reconnect with many of the past teams especially the Falco brothers and of course Jake and Swede Silas just about steals the show with his sidekick Frank

All together a fun read but not a favourite but it does have its place in the series

I liked Asher! Brotherhood Protector World is a world I always enjoy visiting! Each of the 5 book series of Team Watchdog can be read as a stand alone. Liberty (civil liberties attorney) had her moments. Liberty's sister and her sisters friend go missing, phone calls go direct to voicemail. On a quest to find them Liberty runs into trouble. Ashe shows up and we begin the search. Loved our two ex reporters /checker players on the front porch. It was great seeing some of the original Brotherhoods and their subsequent teams. Thank you for the arc! I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions #AshersWatch #BrotherhoodProtectorsWorld #TeamWatchDog #LeanneTyler #TwistedPagesLLC #Bookfunnel

I'm really enjoying this series within a series, getting to know the characters and the unique town.
Asher comes across a car broken down and next thing bullets are flying. What is going on. Liberty has been in town hunting for her sister. There is a crime syndicate is town somewhere and fear is that the missing girls will be victims of trafficking.
Liberty and Asher get closer as they try to solve this case. An insta connection that is noticed by their friends. Both tied to their careers there will be obvious changes in their lives.
I really enjoyed this story, especially as it got closer to solving the case and facing the dangers.
Great story, I highly recommend it.

When Asher rescues Liberty from the side of the road, he doesn’t expect to get involved in a trafficking ring that has come to Colorado. Liberty is searching for sister who has disappeared and sets out to find her only to find danger herself. With the help from Asher and others, they uncover a ring that has taken her sister and friend….but it will take more than just Asher and Liberty to rescue her.
A good read with suspense and good characters. I would have liked more of the rest of the team he’s in to be present and answers to who did the shooting and why.

Expectations

I have been reading Brotherhood Protectors since the Kindle woods days. Since the "team" concept happened, I have enjoyed the comradery and teamwork of each team. So I was surprised, and a bit put out, when Asher comes off as a lone gunman. We hardly see his team. They were not present at the take down. Chain of command didn't happen with Asher reporting to Jake rather than his team lead, Mason. We seen more of Teams Falco and Raptor than we did Team Watchdog. Although the story was okay with the action and romance, the "team" wasn't there as I have come to expect.

Liberty is heading to Colorado Springs to visit her sister Justus and best friend Chaney to find out they are missing. When Liberty and Asher meet, Liberty’s car is on the side of the road, Liberty is being shot at. Asher (a member is the Brotherhood Proctors) helps to get her car towed and takes her to his office to meet with the team. When Swede picks up on the news of an auction on the dark web the Watch Dog team hasn’t been able to find any sign of Justus. As the search goes on, they start making plans. It’s a good addition to the series and I recommend it.

ASHER’S WATCH BROTHERHOOD PROTECTORS WORLD TEAM WATCHDOG
BOOK TWO
LEANNE TYLER
When Liberty arrives to spend time with her younger sister in Colorado, she finds her and her roommate missing. On her way to Fool’s Gold she is shot at. Asher comes along and saves her. Then the Brotherhood Protectors shift into high gear to find the missing girls and protect Liberty. A fast paced story that has you turning to pages that find out what happens next. Strong characters who don’t give up. Life changing events that will hopefully lead to a happily ever after.

Needs editing and ends abruptly

I really enjoyed the story and look forward to the rest of this series. Unfortunately there are a lot of mistakes. While I enjoyed the interactions with a lot of the other Brotherhood Protectors teams and characters from Fool's Gold, I wish there was more involvement with the other members of Team Watchdog. Then it just sort of ends abruptly without answering a lot of questions. Do they find the people who got away, were they prosecuted. How mad was Lillie? Would like a glimpse at a little of Asher's and Liberty's relationship in the future.

Good storyline with believable characters.

I enjoyed this book with its good plot and some people that I would love to get to know better. But ... The editing was terrible with bad punctuation, run-on sentences, and confused conversations where I couldn't tell who was talking to who. I kept hoping it would get better but it continued to the end. Very annoying and disappointing. I hope more attention is paid to correcting these issues in the future. Not sure if I will be reading anything else by this author because of this. What a shame.

I love the story. Liberty is a Civil Liberties Lawyer from New York that comes to Colorado to visit her sister Justus. When she arrives she finds that her sister and roommate are missing. She goes driving around looking for them and her car breaks down and someone starts shooting at her. Asher comes across her broken down car and her and gets her to safety. Now they have to solve the mystery. I read an arc of this book and this is my review.

Asher’s Watch by Leanne Taylor is book 2 in the Team Watchdog series by various authors and is part of the Brotherhood Protectors World by Elle James. 4.5 stars

Up next is Asher and Liberty’s story. Quick read, suspense, online trafficking auction, seeing other BHP teams helping to solve and destroy this ring of evil and more…

I usual love all of these books. However the dialogue between characters was very minimalistic. I thought maybe it was written by AI. There was no real depth at all and it seemed as if the story was thrown against the wall to see what would stick. The thing I noticed the most is that it’s very out of character for the brotherhood in world. None of the actions and protocols when nowhere close to what I have been reading in the other brotherhood, protector, world books.

This is the second book in the Team Watchdog and I thoroughly enjoyed reading Asher and Liberty’s story.

I loved the side characters, such as our old friend Swede, Jake and RJ. Silas was a fantastic character and I loved the way he took Liberty under his wing.

Asher and Liberty could not have been more perfect for each other.

Fantastic read. Thankyou Leanna Tyler

all bone no meat

What could have been a fantastic story full of grit and adventure ended up being very disappointing and made light of a number of extremely serious issues and a situation that could have ended up in tragedy. Instead the kidnapped girls act like nothing happened and everything just seems to fizzle out. Disappointing from the series and this particular author.

Did Asher & Liberty find trouble or did trouble find them? This is more suspense & action oriented as they investigate the trouble while falling naturally into each other. We see & meet so many of past characters & enjoy the banter & camaraderie.
