Broken #2

Saving Scotty

Rate this book
Scotty is sure that she was betrayed by Nick, so she wants nothing more to do with him. Unfortunately, her life is endangered by Mr. Lucas, as she is abducted by him and spirited away to an island far away from New York City.

Nick begins a desperate search for Scotty, knowing that every minute that Scotty is in the hands of Mr. Lucas is another minute that she is horribly suffering. But can he find her before too much damage is done? And can he convince her, once and for all, that he did not betray her?

And, in the end, can he finally convince her to truly trust him? Or is she still just too broken?

Book 2 was more me doing this...

The outcome of this book actually was a little wee better than the first. I wouldn't say it was awesome but tolerable for me.

I still don't have that connection at all with Scotty. Like seriously I'm totally annoyed at the way she really is in this book and I understand why she is like that but I cannot help what comes to mind while reading this. ANNOYING.

This time round Nick is tolerable and I love Jack. At least you get to read all about the dramas between Scotty, Mr Lucas and crazy Portia.

The one thing that really bothered me about this book was why Scotty and Nick would have sex after she'd been raped repeatedly and consider that maybe she might be pregnant?!? When she initiated the sex, I was expecting Nick to say, "no sex until you see a doctor" but obviously that was not the case. And honestly, the whole kidnapping thing just ended too easily. This man goes through all that trouble to take Scotty away, and somebody forces their way into the house and he just says "sure, you can take her"?!? It felt a little ridiculous to me. Another thing that irritates me about this novel was the showdown with Portia and Nick. Again, I felt like it was resolved too easily. I'm feeling some of the same irritation with this series that I felt when I read the first book about Ryan and Iris. It's just way too much going on in these novels. Kidnappings, miscarriages, corporate showdowns, alcoholic parents, caring for her young brother, a broken leg....on top of trust issues and trying to deal with her emotions. However, a love like Nock has for Scotty is something that few people probably ever really experience. I'm going to finish the last book simply because I just want to know how it all ends. Hopefully Mr. Lucas will get what he deserves.

Terrible. One of the worst books I've read recently.

I only read this because I read the first one (rated 3 stars) and it was even worse than the first.

There's no depth to anything in these books. Writing is terrible. Horrible grammar. The parts that have good grammar are so formal it is beyond unrealistic.

I don't leave series unfinished, so I have one more to read but I am expecting it to be horrible.

The first book in this series is an OK read, but the second (and third) are full of filler, and not particularly believable.

My least favorite narrative device in romance novels is the ubiquitous miscommunication. Where would romantic literature be without them. They are soooo frustrating, though and more than anything else in any kind of novel, the miscommunication causes me to yell profanities at and white knuckle my kindle.

This 2nd installment of the Broken Trilogy opens on a doozy of a miscommunication - and one that was purposefully calculated by the evil Portia. Scotty's inability that what her eyes were seeing couldn't possibly be true, or at least deserved to be addressed right there and then, leads to drastic consequences and puts not only her but also the man she truly loves in danger.

This book went off the believability tracks here a bit for me - I've purposefully not said what the consequence of her miscommunication was so as not to spoil things but ....

Nick's personality really comes out in this book, especially during his ubiquitous interactions with Jack, Scotty's gay BFF. As a reader, I really started to root for Nick as I got to know him through those interactions. And Jack was rooting for him too - and he is her best friend - so there you go.

Once the initial "issue" is dealt with, the rest of the book is about cleaning house. Nick cleaning house at the office - Portia, Portia, Portia - what a nasty piece of work. And Scotty finding the strength she needs to press charges against evil stepfather, the originator of most of deepest brokenness.

The book ends right in the middle of the action - it's a middle book, so I guess that's OK, but of the three, this was my least favorite.

This continues on where Broken left off.

Finally - Nick has found his voice, and he is going to roar. In the first book he was pretty much like a whiney teenage girl with her first crush, but in Saving Scotty, he is more the man he needs to be.

I am still having trouble connecting as much with Scotty - I just wanted to roll my eyes at her sometimes - but the situations she is in, I guess I could understand why -sometimes.

We finally meet the disgusting Mr Lucas - and yes, he is just that. It did feel a little anti-climactic, the way things ended with him in this installment, but I guess things are ramping up for him in the final book.

Overall, I enjoyed this more than Broken and I am looking forward to seeing where this story takes us.

Fair warning - you need to be strong at the start of this book - it is harrowing.

So we pick up straight from book 1 and we hit the ground running and taken on a fast paced race for Nick to save Scotty from a simply awful situation that you will simply need to be strong like Scotty to read and get through. I admit I was simply heart broken that she was back in hell again and Mr Lucas is one crazy and sick man. Look it was hard to read but you also knew that Nick was on his way and he would simply be Saving Scotty.

We see Scotty start to repair again with Nick and ultimately at the end is she strong enough to take the next step, can she totally trust Nick, is Portia going to be back in book 3, what else is going to be thrown at Scotty and will she deal with Mr Lucas finally to feel totally safe again.

I want Scotty to find love, happiness, safety and security and yes I will be picking up book 3 to continue this journey, my heart needs to know Scotty is going to be okay.

At last. ... Nicky!!! At last you spoke up...

Finally we meet the horrible perv but it was disappointing too... It should have been something more.... I wanted to know what was going in his head while he was raping and hurting Scotty...

Scotty is so far my least favourite character... Nicky came as a victor in this book at least... I did not expect to like him better. ...

Lastly his anguish for being misunderstood by one person whom he cares and loves the most was heartbreaking!!! It would have been better if Nicky would have stayed angry somemore and saw that Scotty learned to trust him better...

He was always there for her....

Let's just say.. the real fun begins in next book... we will see how she faces her demon!!!

I hope we even get Paul's pov too. .

A great read. This is a continuation from the first book and picks up right where it left off. Scotty's major demon/foster father, from when she was a little girl comes back into the picture and does some horrible, horrible things. She's much more broken after this last time with him, than she was before. Nick is such a great guy and has to fix a mess at work and find Scotty to save her. Will they make it through this, I'm not going to say and you'll just have to read it. Will be starting the next book asap.

I loved this book. Nick has become my new book boyfriend. He has transformed to a man you love and trust with your heart. Scotty has been able to face her demons and then some. I was on an emotional roller coaster and sat at the end of my seat through out the reading. You can't help but cheer Scotty and Nick on. It was an awesome book and I can't wait for the next book. Amazing author. Thanks for making me wish for more.

This part of the Broken series takes us on an emotional ride to where the horrible Mr. Lucas has taken Scotty for his own perverse fun. Part of this segment didn't seem believable to me but I still thoroughly enjoyed the writing and the storyline.
Nick is feeling really bad that he wasn't there for Scotty yet again and just has to save her from the evil Mr. Lucas.
This is such a beautifully heart crushing story of a couple in love that just can't seem to catch a break.

This is a page turner of a book - will Scotty trust a man again ? or will she leave Nich , wanting nothing more to do with him and feeling betrayed ?

A great curl up book - and a great book to believe in men again

can't wait to see if the author does a 3rd novel

I was so glad that Portia was kicked out of the office and Mr. Lucas (Paul) will be able to go down into jail. Though, I'm hoping that in the next book that Scotty and Nick would be able to send him into prison.. for violating Scotty. Raping her, and threatening her to be his wife on some island that he presumably owns.

Second book in the series. Better than the first. Still some editing problems. I would like to see a stronger side to Scotty and would like to see the REAL Nick. We are getting a lot about Scotty's past and issues and Nick has some too. Story just seems one sided. Is Scotty aware of why Nick behaved the way he did?

I want to say thank you to the author for gifting me a copy for my review.
I just can not say how much this book rattled me. What poor Scotty had to endure! And poor Nick....just unthinkable! I was on the edge of my seat, biting my fingernails and in pure agony the entire book. Just amazing!
You have to read this entire series!!

Oh my goodness, what a story. Where do you find these wonderful men. Sad to say, only in a story book. I think l want one of those.. Wow the trauma that Scotty went through, it's a wonder she did not loose her mind and end up in a physic ward.
Nick, what an understanding guy, patience of Job,and after;what he went through.

After reading this book I felt like I wasted my time. I felt as though this whole series or trilogy should have been just one book instead of three so I will not be reading the last book. At first I got where Scotty was coming from but after reading the second book she just became annoying as did Nick. The only thing that had me laughing was Jack but other than that this book was boring.

Not worth Reading

The story line is very unrealistic. She gets a fractured femur. I don't think any research was done. She gets home after being continuously being raped and then starts to have sex with Nick but stops because it's too soon. Then the next day she has sex 3 times in his office with a broken leg. You can't compare Annie Jocoby to E James.

This is by far the worst book I've read. The grammar is awful. I feel like I've wasted my time reading this. There were so many parts that were repetitive, super annoying. I hate not finishing a series but I just can't continue anymore.

Saving Scotty -Broken BK 2

Your common day slang is up to date in these books but the editing is still lacking and the writing style still raw.
The storyline is still engaging and interesting, and in this book is more dark than romantic.

Jumped around a bit and the books must be read in sequence

This second book in the series kept me hooked and is certainly worth reading, but felt a little disjointed. Can't wait to see how it works out
